Meanwhile Adelabu will never be Governor of Oyo state Insha Allah in Jesus name.

So I don't know why you guys are even arguing this.

Its pretty standard. If you move to Texas for example, at some point you will need to exchange your Utah drivers license, license plates, etc and register yourself with Texas but you cannot compare the states with Nigeria. Here it's done to update the database and make sure every individual residing in the state permanently is accounted for. I don't see how you can even implement it in a place like Nigeria effectively.
It's possible to implement in Nigeria but currently it's akin to putting the cart ahead of the horse because we still don't have a solid, reliant and updated database.

The only state that has a little bit of database is Lagos.

Even in Oyo, If Tinubu picks me as the candidate. All the other gladiators will have to fall in line. None of them Alli Adelabu Folarin cant do it alone, they will need Federal

Tinubu is just trying to be sure that the person is popular on the ground
There won't be Seyi Makinde on the ballot, APC just need to avoid Adelabu and Tessy and present someone credible with enough grassroot popularity.

That Power Ministry has damaged whatever chances Adelabu has. Good riddance to the minister of darkness.

Early this month I heard on a Yoruba news on radio that his constituents are revolting against Akin Alabi returning to the house of assembly. They say they want someone else to represent them in Abuja.
His major issue is with Teslim Folarin. He has fallen out with him and it seems Tessy control the structure as it is currently.

He was a huge Tessy guy during the 2023 election cycle, na only God knows wetin happen between them.

Yes.

It's a very popular concept in Ogun State. As long as you are from the royal family whether paternal or maternal, you are eligible to be King.

Yeah, except Abiru is assured of the governorship seat leaving the senate seat vacant for Ambode; he no really get any elective position of note available for him at all.

Maybe Tinubu may give him a political appointment post 2027 elections sha. Nothing is impossible with these politicians.
If they zone the Governorship ticket to Ikorodu, I doubt anyone currently has Abiru clout in that division as it is, that's why I said he will throw his hat into that ring.

Anything short of that, Abiru will hold tight that senate seat but like you said, anything is possible with politicians. They can tell him to drop the senate seat for a ministerial position in 2027

Hamzat is not a bad choice at all, In fact he's been next in line since the exit of Fashola and later Ambode but because he's a Muslim he had to "chop bench" for a while.

I also thought he might get sidelined with Seyi Tinubu moving like he's interested in the seat. I don't really rate Obasa and believe Tinubu/APC will not be fooolish enough to field him lest he scatter all the goodwill they've been enjoying in Lagos for years.

In all of these, no indigenous Lagosian is being pushed to be on the ballot. No original Lagosian from Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry , Lagos Island, Ibeju or any of the core Lagos towns is being touted to take the number 1 seat. Even Hamzat father was a monarch in Ogun state before his death in 2019 or thereabouts.
Hamzat is an indigenous Lagosian. His Father, the late King is a Lagosian. He became King in Ewekoro, Ogun State through his maternal line.

Yeah, Over the weekend I had a discussion with a senior man who rolls with the political class in Lagos and he said Ambode's mess up long gan. He said it is even beyond the whole PSP saga sef.

For example he talked about the rams and gifts the state government buys for some big political figures, members of the clergy, some powerbrokers in the state who work behind the scene etc. He said Ambode just stopped those things abruptly. Like he really stepped on many toes and that was why nobody really stood with him when he fell out with Tinubu. He was isolated.

Even his fellow civil servants (particularly the senior ones like directors of ministries and perm secs) really didn't find his administration enjoyable at all. He was once one of them then decided to foreclose every means through which they "settle" themselves the moment he became the governor.
Correct. Ambode was Lagos Accountant General. He enjoyed all the largese until he was told to resign under Fashola to prepare him for Governorship, he became Governor and turned on the same civil service he was once a part of.

Ambode na giran

Ambode made a lot of enemies within and outside the APC. He was a working governor, but politics may make his comeback almost impossible sha except Tinubu decides to gift him the ticket to the chagrin of some party members who still have score to settle with Ambode.
Ambode is never coming back as Governor. Otilor.

His chance was fighting for Lagos East Senatorial seat if the governorship was zoned to Ikorodu division and Abiru goes for it.

At the moment, Ambode can't take the senate seat from Abiru

Hamzat was fasholas candidate from day one. Aif I recall , like Sanwo, Ambode came out of nowhere.

My understanding is that there was a gentlemans agreement that Hamzat would take over after Sanwo finishes.

Then again, 8 years is a very long time in politics and tinubu has bigger fish to fry these days.

Succession after he retires is going to be wilder than any TV show.
Sopo Sasore (Not sure about the correct spelling was Fashola preferred candidate in 2015. Not Hamzat

Before we use to have 2 active pressure group in ACN/APC, the Mandate Group and the Justice Group. Hamzat is Justice Group candidate. Ambode and Sanwo-Olu are from the Mandate Group. To avoid crisis in the party in 2019, Tinubu told both groups to colace and while Mandate Group will produce the governorship candidate,The deputy should be from the Justice group wing. That's how Hamzat became deputy to Sanwo-Olu

There was also rumors that Hamzat was told the Justice wing will produce the governorship candidate for 2027 and that Hamzat might get it.

Ambode and Hamzat are from the Epe division, it remains to be seen if the Ikorodu division will not revolt.

Senegal had to be punished properly though, even though it wasn’t a penalty but walking off the pitch sets a very bad precedence, I assure you that Africans would have abused that privilege at every tournament, why it took this long I don’t know exactly
Yes, they should've been fined seriously and the coach that initiated it banned for like 6 month or so.

Bring out your source for this. The organizers are literally telling you different yet you insisting on going by your own understanding despite being wrong.
Maybe you should try to read more and not just gulping anything you read online.

The ref should've abandoned the game after the Senegal team walked off during the game but he didn't and the game continued, extra 30mins+ played and the game concluded with a final match outcomes.

Article 82 cannot cover it anymore, it was not an abandoned match anymore, it is a concluded match.

Another embarrassment is waiting for CAF at CAS, that's for sure.

A useless body that cannot properly interpret it's own rules.

CAF is a useless organization.

Plenty times we've seen teams in the EPL bemoan the outcome of a match due to errors committed by the match officials .......Weeks later PMGOL will come out to acknowledge the ref's error of judgement in such match, but nowhere will the league management overturn the outcome of such match. They acknowledge the officiating was not perfect but they don't overturn final result of the match for any reason....But here we are seeing CAF disgracing themselves.

History will not be kind to this current CAF leadership headed by that corrupt South African guy.
The funny thing is that something like this happened in 2018 in the CAF champions league final between Esperance Tunis and Al Ahly.

Al Ahly won the first leg 3-1 at home and Esperance won the second leg 3-0 thereby winning the trophy.

Esperance Tunis alleged after the first leg that the first leg was rigged by the ref because they gave 2 controversial penalty to Al Ahly

The same CAF Appeal decided to forfeit the first leg that Al Ahly won 3-1 saying Al Ahly has engaged in misconduct and one of their players was engaged in simulation grin (Remember that Esperance Tunis already won the trophy on their own merit by winning the second leg 3-0)

Al Ahly appealed to CAS, CAS embarrassed CAF by telling them to stick to their own rules that the outcome of a match is final irrespective of referee decisions, mistakes or errors.

CAS clearly told CAF it's powers are limited in altering already concluded match outcomes.

Another disgrace is waiting for them at CAS.

A very useless sport association.

Kimbeast:
That's a lie. Article 82 and 84 are very clear. I have never seen when an organization applying the rules is making a stupid decision after appeals.

Key Details Regarding Articles 82 & 84:
Article 82 (Withdrawal/Refusal to Play): If a team leaves the ground before the end of regulation time without the referee's authorization, it is deemed to have lost and is eliminated.
Article 84 (Forfeiture Penalty): A team violating Article 82 is eliminated from the competition and loses the match 3-0. If the opponent has a more advantageous score at the time of interruption, that score is maintained.
Are you a zombie that swallows anything without context?

Article 82 cannot be invoked for a match that was CONCLUDED. Once a match is played and concluded, the result is final.

The ref should've abandoned the game when Senegal walked off, he didn't. The moment Senegal came back and the ref allow the game to continue, article 82 is out the door.

Apply your common sense please.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by larride(m): 8:30am On Mar 18
Kimbeast:
How does that absolve Senegal from breaching article 82?
For article 82 to stand, the ref should've abandoned the game when they walked off. He didn't.

The game continued with the ref and all the players playing. The ref decision is the final decision on the pitch and the ref says Senegal won the match. It is final.

CAS will embarrass CAF once again like they did in 2019.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by larride(m): 8:06am On Mar 18
Kimbeast:
Senegal has no case. They broke the rules and now they are facing the consequences whether it's harsh or not. If anything this sends a clear message: no team can just walk off the pitch because a decision doesn’t go their way and It sets a precedent.

From the announcement:

It is declared that the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), through the conduct of its team, infringed Article 82 of the Regulations of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Article 82

If, for any reason whatsoever, a team withdraws from the competition or does not report for a match, or refuses to play or leaves the ground before the regular end of the match without the authorisation of the referee, it shall be considered looser and shall be eliminated for good from the current competition. The same shall apply for the teams previously disqualified by decision of CAF.
It's another thing if the ref ended the game when they walked off. The ref did not.

They came back, the ref played on, Morocco players played on, another extra 30mins of game was played.

CAF own rule says nothing can change the result of a match already concluded. The game was concluded.

It was a stupid decision from CAF
