BlueRayDick: That's why it is their internal issue and they should be allowed to handle their internal matters. If the people in the country are saying democracy has not favored them why must America force feed them same?
All US cares about is democracy and their interests in West Africa; it's obvious by their body language Who are the people that said democracy hasn't favored them? The coupist? |

Unlimited22: How's this any different from what's happening in Guinea and Mali?
Why must the Niger people hand over Power back NOW? For one, the person that ousted was just democratically elected just a year back. Negotiations is where modalities will be ironed out but in situations where the coupist are not ready for any negotiations, there won't be any choice than military intervention. One thing I do agree with is that military intervention will further escalate issue but sometimes its needed. |

BlueRayDick: Well I can't but see America as meddlesome interloper if they will look away from countries they "mentor" when things do go right under democracy, but they will suddenly find voice the moment democracy is threatened in such countries. It's like, they actually do not care about anything aside democracy. Damn if they do, damn if they do not. 😂 You know if they interfere in a democratic elected govt administration, they will be known as meddlesome interloper also right? The right thing to do is to allow the people enjoy those they voted for and if they dont like the person, these same people can go to the poll same way and chose someone else. Leaving the choice to the people is the right thing to do in my opinion. |

Roland17: I think you are misunderstanding the role and use of US military bases in Africa. The military bases are essentially for emergent evacuations or rescue operations of US citizens around Africa and not for invasion of a country. Remember the hostage rescue operation in 2020 or there about by US special forces?
The US will support any military action by proxy and support of ammunition and intelligence, not physical presence. The same way Russia will support Wagner. Boss Ragner will have it hard here in Africa where supplies can't easily get to them. Niger itself is landlocked, if all their neighbors close their land and air border to them as Ecowas is suggesting, how is Russia going to send supplies to Wagner group. If its France now ehn ehn, but Russia that has little to no influence in Africa? I doubt it. |

Unlimited22: Exactly.
Don't count ECOWAS chickens before they are hatched.
And NOBODY with sense will advocate for ECOWAS to do nothing.
Just not an armed intervention. We no dey try curtail civil war here. Ecowas actually have history of success in their intervention whether diplomatic or the brute force way. Only brute force will make the coupist hand over back to the ousted elected President instantly. Diplomacy will probably give the coupist like 1 - 3 years to transition back to civilian rule. |

BlueRayDick: Is it a must that every country under the sun must practice democracy ? Let's start from there.
If America's democracy permits them to look away when things go wrong under a democratically elected government, why do they suddenly gain interest when the citizens of the country resort to self help ? Is that not hypocrisy? You are the one that set the tone of the argument sir, I'm only questioning the logic of your argument. Whether all country of the earth should practice democracy or not is another topic entirely. What I'm asking you is that why do you think those who call themselves champions of democracy should resort to toppling down the same democracy that they champion? Don't you get it? If a govt is democratically elected, remove them democratically also. |

In far away Africa where US has military scattered in most of the country that borders Niger. How many military base does Russia has in Africa not to talk of Africa? This is not Asia or middle east where Russia can flex military muscles. |

izzou: Nigerians na very funny people
When this guy starts, and Nigeriens start pouring into our country, also giving birth to different terror groups, the same Nigerians will come back and lament on why Tinubu is not doing anything.
Someone is loved by his people, but he is banning social media, yet we cannot see the clear sign that this guy should not even be the Class captain of an SS3 class.
Make Tinubu comot hand sef. I mean they are even making it seems as if Ecowas has always sat down idly whenever coups happens in West Africa without doing anything. Even Mali sef, Buhari sent Jonathan as envoy to that country on behalf of Ecowas to try and find a diplomatic efforts to end the coup. Two days after negotiations, the ousted President and prime minister of mali tendered their resignation and the coupist released them from detention. The coupist agreed with Ecowas that they will conduct election and transition to civilian rule in 2022. (Coup happened in 2021) in jan 2022, the coupist wrote to Ecowas that Ecowas should allow them extend the transition by 5yrs, Ecowas responded by closing all borders to Mali and imposing sanctions against them (Same thing Tinubu started with against Niger) and asking them to go ahead with the planned transition or there will be military intervention. Both the coupist and Ecowas later agreed to move the transition period to 2024 in what some describe as Ecowas giving the coupist enough time to save face. The talk that Ecowas hasn't been doing nothing no hold to the reality on ground. |

Unlimited22: Where was all this furore when it was Chad? Burkina Faso? Guinea?
Mali?
Why is it now? Why would anybody mandate ecowas to do anything? Chad is not part of Ecowas. Burkina Faso was suspended from Ecowas after their coup. There was intervention in Guinea but it was diplomatic and the agreement was that the govt will transition to civilian rule in 2025 with the coupist not being eligible to ever contest future elections. It's not the first time Ecowas is intervening in coup in West Africa. Buhari and Ecowas sent forces into Gambia when the President that lost election refused to hand over to the winner of the election and force him to handover. We share the longest border with Niger, whatever is happening there will have ripple effect toward us. |

Just how many days and the coupist has banned social media which means they dont want the outside world to know whatz going on there. Make those in position of privileged information take decisions. |

BlueRayDick: I detest the fact that America will look away when people are groaning under a democratically elected ; then the moment non state actors and coupists listen to the people’s groan; America starts saying “It’s democracy or nothing “ What do you want America to do to a democratically elected government? Is the sane thing not to wait till election time and work behind the scene for another party/individual (which are usually their puppets) to take over? A democratic elected govt means they were voted in by the majority of the people, I dont know what you want America who are "champions" of democracy to do. |

They usually go limp in the TW after we qualify for the UCL. (There’s enough facts to back this up)
I could say this is the first time they’d back a manager in his 2nd or 3rd season in years and I wouldn’t be far from the truth. The last manager that enjoyed this benefit was LvG. But our board dont just buy players and impose them on the manager. They buy what the manager request for. |
