AD don't look like AD today. That's my problem with him. His floor is poor for a HOFer. AD on one leg should not have 4 points in a half of basketball. Not against this matchup Inconsistency. Same way he had a off day in game 2 against Memphis. |

Hopefully Tinubu stop that rubbish of increasing excise duty especially on commodities like food items and cars.
Almost all our neighboring countries are reducing their excise and import duties while we keep increasing ours. We are losing port revenue to our neighboring countries and the same items will still be smuggled into the country.
How do we even want to fight food inflation by increasing import and excise duty everytime ffs. 😡

liveLongNprospa: Someone wants to increase "naira expenditure" but he doesn't want to peg that to dollars inflow.
Buhari did the same thing but from an illegal angle by having the CBN print out an extra 20 trillion naira to finance our expenditure without the required dollar inflow.
But as usual you'll twist this larride.

liveLongNprospa: Larride I did not ask you for a break down of what the US did.. The US isn't Nigeria. The effect of what the US did isn't the same effect we would experience because even if the US prints extra money the fact that the world trades in dollars can offset that.
For Nigeria it would lead to inflation as simple as that.
Incase you don't understand what your oga is saying, let me simplify it for you.
He wants to spend money but remove the source needed to spend that money. Hence why I keep using the buhari reference. Even if you argue the 2nd part of what he said, the first part should basically be the easiest thing for you to understand.
And again he gave a justification for why he wants to do that. I even thought you'd try to justify his reasons.
Infact larride you are the only apc supporter I have seen who is arguing this😂. I’ve asked you repeatedly to show us where in Tinubu manifesto he said he was going to print more money, can that be too hard for you to do since you are too sure that’s what he said he was going to do? You have been conflating government borrowing and government spending since yesterday and the reason I’m the only APC supporter even arguing with you is because I give you the benefit of doubt that maybe just maybe you know what you are saying. I’ve come to the same realization that others did that you have no idea what you are talking about and you are just looking for an avenue to wail. Don’t let me stop you from wailing, go ahead bro. Wail away. |

liveLongNprospa: God please.. Explain how he plans to delink naira expenditure from dollar inflow?
Explain how what buhari did is so different even though its illegal
The man has even given a justification for this action in his manifesto just like he gave a justification for saying printing of more money coz of a significant situation like COVID-19.
So again.. The floor is yours. Lmao. When they catch you on one hand you quickly jump into another argument. 😂 Just admit you were wrong and keep it moving. Next please. |

liveLongNprospa: My brother.. If you like insult it's your problem. Every single thing I've shown you especially this last one has pointed to what I said about him continuing what buhari did from a legal perspective. You have argued and refused to answer. Your own is the word should be the same. Again your guy doesn't want to tie naira expenditure to dollar inflow.
But you won't explain what that means. It is the same buhari did by breaking the CBN act. But go on.. Deceive yourself. Like I said we will be here. The same manifesto he justified it by saying we are in emergency times😁.
It is the same you that has tried to point out the reason tinubu said we should print more money is because of the COVID-19 period.
So are you arguing against the man and his manifesto abi what? Nobody is insulting you, you are doing that all by yourself. I’ve told you several times that you are mixing a lot of things together and it’s the same thing you are doing right now. I’ve established to you today that there’s a difference between government borrowing and government spending. What Buhari broke is different from what Tinubu is proposing, if you still can’t get it at this point, my bro I can’t help you. And yes during the pandemic, Tinubu did advise the govt to print more money to inject into the economy to stimulate the economy (You should go and read about Quantitative Easing) it’s the same thing all sane countries over the world did. That’s exactly what the US did with all their covid loans, stimulus checks and including reducing interest rate to almost zero which in turns stimulate the us economy, the side effect which is inflation is what the feds are currently fighting right now by increasing interest rates. In theory when interest rates go up, borrowing becomes expensive and if borrowing becomes expensive, consumer spending will decline and if consumer spending decline, demand will fall which will in turn make the price of every day goods falls also thereby reducing inflation. I believe you get the logic. I’ve repeatedly told you what Buhari did is different from what Tinubu proposed, you can continue to delude yourself though since it will give you talking points. |

It's a nice gesture, most of these students will be entering the country with little to no cash, and for those that don't have families to fall back on, the #100K would help them do a thing or two before they start finding their feet. I disagree totally. These guys are not refugees. They are normal people in Sudan because of the war, the govt is already spending a lot of money to evacuate them for free, the largese should stop at giving them maybe 20k to get to wherever their families are. Those that are funded by state govt should be taken care by their respective state. We can’t be complaining of unnecessary spending and still encourage something like this. |

Whoever will ask for more spending should be able to convince Nigerians and make it open information about what you have stated in the bolded.

Spy360: Even in my house, I don't question how high or low spending is. What I question is the value. What value has Nigerians gained from what has been spent to ask for increased spending?
The general fear is that of corruption and opportunity to steal. Besides, increasing spending will mean increasing budget and also increasing borrowing. Our debt profile is very scary. Our debt profile is one of the lowest in the world at 40-45% of our GDP. Most advanced world has a debt to GDP ratio of over 100%. What we have is a revenue problem, how to raise revenue and ensure that the revenue is being put to good use. There’s nothing wrong with borrowing if you can account for what you used the funds to do and a reasonable structure to repay the loans. |

chrisooblog: How will BAT hope to increase spending when our revenues are so low?
I was reading a statement from Edo governor Obaseki that unless something quickly is done FG won't be able to pay salaries beyond June. Of course the government will definitely increase its revenue generation. One way is to ensure and stop the theft of oil and gas that’s making us lose more than half of our revenue. Crude oil is selling above the budget benchmark but we are not even having any excess windfall because we are not meeting our OPEC quota which is seriously affecting our revenue. Then of course, borrowings. |
