BlueRayDick: I plan on learning UI/UX design this year. Which is the easiest route? Enrolling in a physical ICT training center or Are there any free means of learning online? If yes, please share. Welcome. Theres this guy on Twitter that you can attend his class, hes very good. He teach UX engineering. You can also learn low code tools like web flow and bubble from him. Joseph Brendan. You can search for him, he also has a lot of tutorial videos on YouTube. I think hes the founder of dev and design (Not sure). He started a product design class this monday. But personally, I will recommend you go to a physical class. I attended UnivelCity, its located at Yaba. Their 3 month product class is 300k. You can send a DM. I can share resources with you. |

To succeed at those platforms, you need to do some almost unethical stuff. It's really tough. Upwork is good for content guys tho. Even writers. |

DeadPresidents: I remember how many internal meetings we had at Paystack just hoping Meffy won't come up with something that will send us all home. So many brilliant product ideas have been shelved and archived because regulation around their implementation is murky and unclear. To be fair to CBN/Emefiele, I think the strict regulation and compliance are needed especially for startup that will be handling depositors funds before we begin hear story that touch. Both flutterwave and paystack now have it easy now, you guys have done the heavy lifting already. Hopefully the next President/CBN Gov does better. |

DeadPresidents: Sure.
Won't lie, this current tech job market is harsh on product people, especially starters. Been searching for junior product designer roles for a friend's brother but I only see internships. I will advise people working in product design to build a portfolio and chase freelancing. My younger brother is a UI/UX designer with many years of experience and he currently freelances (mostly because he dislikes company work) Freelance is the way but it's easier when you have alot of experience. I've tried upwork and fiverr but its already over saturated with designers. I actually started as an intern but the startup collapse due to lack of funds. |

DeadPresidents: I've worked in Fintech for the last 4 years and I can tell you the main problems you face in Fintech are not technology-based but policy-based.
You are not permitted to make charges on customer cards without obtaining PCI-DSS compliance certification. Obtaining compliance is an expensive, troublesome and time-consuming endeavour so you are at the mercy of Payment Processors like Paystack and Flutterwave with regards to the features you can use and the ones you can't.
So, when planning, factor in the legal and compliance side of the feasibility studies very highly. And this exactly is what is stifling innovation in the fintech space. The policy hasn't been stable. I will repeat it again, whoever becomes President must ensure that whoever they appoint as CBN Governor must not be related to any bank. Being from the traditional banks means most of these CBN Governors are always looking after the interest of their banker committee friends. Meanwhile if you have or know anyone looking to hire junior product designer, please hit me up. |

The politicians who thought Buhari would help them have all realized that Buhari sends no one
If you know what Oshiomole eye see. Oshio fought Buhari battles die. When Oshio ran into issues instead make Buhari convene NWC meeting and support his party chairman he allowed them rubbish Oshiomole
Since then that one don carry his own cross
Half of those who collected APC ticket felt because they went to Buhari and he smiled with them or made promises that he is going to support them
That was what gave Emefiele Lawan Akpabio Amosun Fayemi Amaechi and even Osinbajo confidence to go pick form Most of these people have no network to win a National election but were banking on Presidency endorsement
If they had known that Buhari will be looking like dodo and not use his so called influence why would they bother.
The smart ones last minute when they didn't see any endorsement nor movement from Buhari they jejely stepped down for BAT Of course, Buhari is not going to influence vote for anyone illegally. The highest he will do is what he is currently doing which is campaign for him in the North. |

raumdeuter: Na under Buhari Emefiele dey pick 100m APC ticket
2 weeks ago the news was that DSS was chasing Emefiele the CBN governor while he was hiding in London claiming sick
All these happened under Buhari and he didn't say Pim
APC primary Buhari was saying they should allow him choose his successor, 2 days later the party chairman was naming Lawan as the anointed candidate, 24hrs later Northern governors were holding press conference that Power should move to the South
Later Asiwaju won the primary in a landslide
Aisha Buhari regularly says it that a cabal is controlling her husband. Her husband will respond that she should stick to kitchen affairs
Buharis nephew could not even get APC ticket in Buharis homestate
Everyone don see say Buhari has major deficiencies in leading in a democracy even leading his own family
Buhari don sign out and leave the country on cruise control for whoever will take it
Watch out for Buharis interviews after he hands over And that's very dangerous. This few months remaining to the end of his tenure is equally as month as other months he has been president. Because his tenure is coming to an end doesn't mean he should put the country on auto pilot while counting down the days. |

I have seen people use transfer to buy suya from abokis. There is an aboki along the street I pay the same way. The tanker that brings my water - I pay them like that also.
So I don't think that is really an issue. You are lucky. The man that brings pure water for me detest transfer like mad. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 6:01am On Jan 26, 2023 |
GloriousGbola: Nnpc is the sole importer of pms in this country. If you are bringing in pms by yourself without a contract with nnpc , at current dollar rates it will be in the same range as cost of diesel and atk.
I also know for a fact that nnpc in conjunction with dss is literally arresting attendants for selling fuel in jerrycans. They are enforcing sales at 169 last I checked and even pushing for lower pump tolerance within their direct networks
For the life of me I cannot make sense of what is going on. As an impure tribalized batist though I will say the abokis have thoroughly fked everything up with greed and incompetence.
An old friend into fuel haulage said that it all comes down to systemic diversion of product outside Nigeria. Outside Nigeria petrol is sold at international market rates. So if you divert trucks outside Nigeria you make big money.
Diversion is an industry term. Say your station in lagos has ordered and paid for a truck. You pay 4m. Truck leaves depot and instead of going to your station, it is taken maybe up north. The station operator gets a call. We have diverted your truck. Take 6m which is the market value of the fuel plus your own cut on top. The truck is then moved up north or wherever where the product is sold at a much higher rate. Everyone in the transaction makes money, while the queues grow longer as the available fuel cannot meet demand.
As for the n280 ex depot, that one I really do not get. Unless like in the case of dollars and central bank, nnpc is running a parallel pms market Just like the unadulterated fuel saga. No reasonable explanation and no consequences. Smhs |

izzou: ATMs are dispensing new notes as at yesterday I withdraw. Unless you have proof that they are paying old notes.
As for the petty traders, I agree that is an issue, but i know with time, everyone will find some solution
Just deposit your old notes first.
Many businesses have started adjusting. In the markets, people have started notifying customers that no old notes will be accepted as from Monday.
It is a start, and I don't see why the nation will be on fire because of it You are coming around to the point I'm making. You are just talking about deposit deposit without considering those that need that cash to transact their business or for their daily survival. You are lucky that you were able to withdraw the new naira notes. Not everyone is. I'm practically telling you I havent seen or touched the new 500 and 200 notes since it began circulation. So what happens if by monday, most business begin rejecting the old notes, what happens to all the old notes still in circulation? If you check the link I posted, some banks are actually still dispensing the old notes while some dispense mixture of old and new. Let's just wait till monday and see how everything unfolds. |

Why that is different is what i dont know. Maybe GloriousGbola will help us understand better
But if you see 330 per litre, just know they bought it 280 per litre.
PS: Avoid the last lane on Lagos Badagry expressway, especially from Barracks.
Road don block That's why I said it's clear economic sabotage. NNPC claimed to be the "sole" importer of PMS and they said theres enough fuel to go round which beg the question, why is there scarcity and why are different marketers selling the same price at different price. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 5:22am On Jan 26, 2023 |
izzou: The intended aim of the policy is to reduce the volume of 1000, 500, 200 notes in circulation.
So unless you are expecting to get the same number of notes you exchanged, you are ignoring the reality, my brother
Deposit the money first. Is that not the ideal thing to do? You are the one that's ignoring the reality of things. So what happens when I deposit the old notes with me? Open one of those link I send in that post and CBN practically banned over the counter withdrawal of the new notes, so what happens if the ATM is not dispensing the new notes and I cant even get it at the counter? What happens to all the traders that their entire business is in their cash flow? Those petty traders that recycle the cash as they are given? Infact till this moment, I havent seen the new 500 and 200 naira notes, only the 1k note. When I used the 1k to pay for a service, I get back the old note. If Emefiele do not extend the deadline of making the old note illegal by Jan 31st, chaos will happen. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 5:16am On Jan 26, 2023 |
izzou: The price at the depot is 280 naira. Do your findings, my Oga.
So if you have enough capital, you can help us buy, and sell at the government's RRP.
It is like you don't understand the headache the marketers are going through That's the sabotage we are talking about. If from th depot is 280 naira, how are others still selling at the official price or slightly above. I was going to Ijebu Ode yesterday afternoon and I bought fuel at Oando along that Ikorodu - Ijebu ode road for 185 naira. Just some few distance to that Oando, another filling station is selling 280. So how are they doing it? Are the major marketers buying at 280 and selling at 175/180 or are the other buying at 280 and selling at 280? Infact where I normally buy fuel without stress at Ikorodu sells at 250. How are they doing it? |
