MRTA7: I dont understand your point. Are you agreeing with me? The point I'm making is that regardless of CR's status and Martial we should have identified and signed a striker even if CR didnt ask to leave. The fact we're facing this these issues starting the season is not really unforeseen but its pretty much self inflicted by the club's disastrous preparation for the new season. Or the manager obsession with his old ajax boys? |

TrebleChamp: A day to the start of EPL, this one is still talking about signing the right players. So it is only his former players that are the right players for Manutd I supported giving him full autonomy on players signing, so he can build his team his own way. But chasing one players for 3 month is pure foolishness, God help us this season.... I will so drag ETH if this season goes sideways. Ralf should never have left ffs. Stupid club and manager. |

You have spread your risks well and will somehow be satisfied with whoever wins (except your bet with Larride sha). Thankfully he's in Lagos, we go use the bet money celebrate BAT election victory once we win. |

BlueRayDick: And to think those LASTMA guys get paid well like other civil servants in Lagos . It’s just annoying that they see themselves as equal with police officers whom one can excuse their corruption for being paid poorly.
The way they usually drag steering with private car owners who are sometimes women is appalling . I always shake my head knowing even if u sack them and recruit fresh ones they will still turn out the same way Just corruption, pure and simple. That's why they detest when they post them around Alausa and environs. Agberos collect owo Lastma from danfo drivers now that they remit at the end of the day of those posted to the area so the danfo drivers can do as they like. |

BlueRayDick: Well he has himself to blame for the negative publicity sha. Most common Nigerians would’ve sorted those guys and bounce without the whole scene he caused .
I’ve said it here before , Lagos is a jungle where those task force guys are predators looking for ignorant road users to prey on. Oshodi Oke is a case in point ; u see yellow commercial buses dropping passengers and carrying more passengers on the bridge ….. In fact buses going to Mile 2, Orile and Cele Express load their buses on the bridge ( as we speak u can go there and confirm this ) . The task force/LASTMA team are right there and would not dare arrrest them for obstructing traffic , but the moment u as a private car owner drop a colleague u assisted at that same place u will be hounded by the task force guys and their touts with guns being flashed at ur face . The least U will pay is 30k for an offence yellow buses are committing right in ur front LASTMA and those taskforce are a menace. How do you begin to even reorient those that are supposed to uphold the law but will rather collect bribe from some to look the other way and pounce on some? Selective punishment for the same crime. Nigerians are a special breed. |

izzou: It's a different situation for the Incumbent's New guy
Oppositions would always use the negatives of the incumbent party to campaign. Its not the same for the new guy, which makes it more difficult for him
That's why Tinubu is most dragged and talked about in this election. Buhari's shiit is splashing on him too Of course its expected. Same party so the failures of Buhari will also be on his head but during campaign, it's easier to say what he will do different than Buhari if given the chance. Though they might be in the same party, they are different individuals. The electorate will now have the chance to send the party packing in total or not. It is what it is. |

chrisooblog: As much as there is poverty in the land I agree that it's ridiculous that our tax rate is so low.
If countries like Togo, Benin and Kenya with huge poverty numbers can still pay tax then there's no reason why we shouldn't be doing better. I think another reason is tax avoidance. How many people in the tax net pay their tax? I'm not even sure up to 40% pay their dues.
That said there's the issue of double taxation. Businesses paying all sorts of dues that don't get captured in government revenue (that's if it doesn't get diverted).
I don't know if there are any experts in the real estate space, but I read somewhere that if the land use act can be reformed it can be a game changer revenue wise for Nigeria. You are right about the double taxation especially in the informal sector. Lot of tax (dues) that touts levy under the disguise of local government tax are mostly unaccounted for. FIRS and each state government needs to be up and doing, it is important that the informal sector is duly integrated into the tax system. FIRS and other state government needs to broaden the tax net, every one must paid their tax as at when due. |

Should we talk about the rails BuuBuu built, the 2nd Niger Bridge and road projects? Even the trains LASG went to negotiate in the USA would be difficult to purchase if the CBN floats.
You are actually right with your suggestion. We all know that that's the only way out. But it can't happen overnight.
Dollarisation has taken over, and any president must find a way to work with it initially, before phasing it out I believe, theres no two ways about it, we will definitely suffer for all the missed opportunities that we have had to diversify the economy. With the kind if population we have, we should have different manufacturing and industrial hubs all over the country. We have arable lands to grow what we eat. More than 70% of the population spend most of their earnings on food. We have to move from subsistence farming to large scale farming that can quickly make us self sustaining in agricultural produce. If you check our inflation indices, you will see that price of food stuff is one of the major cause that drive our inflation. We must look for a way to increase the purchasing power of the naira and one way that it will be evident is in the prices of food items. |
