Something I've been thinking about since Caroline Flack and the whole 'just be nice' movement on social media - do you think it'll ever apply to football?

Obviously it's part of the job that they'll be criticised to some extent by the press/fans/media/social media but where do you draw the line? As i'm, sure you've all seen, comment sections on social media are often full of comments slagging off Jones and Lingard in particular

For those who don't know, Lingard has said publicly he's had mental health issues recently - he's looking after his newborn daughter, two siblings who are kids, his mum who's very ill, his grandad and nan have cancer but remains a prime target for jokes online. Jones said he doesn't want a testimonial because 'nobody will come'.

Now there's a video circulating of some 'fans' shouting racist abuse at Lingard after the Derby game last night. Honestly don't think it'll be long before we see a high profile player either committing suicide or dropping out of the game due to depression.

Where do we draw the line between 'banter', criticism and abuse?

All Gks make errors. They are not machine. Allison made as many error leading to goals as DDG last season. He has made 3 errors in 28 games this season. Ya’ll need to stop making it seems as if he makes these errors daily.

For over 3 months, DDG has made no error, he suddenly made one against Everton now and we start hearing about how he makes school boy errors every now and then. I call bullshit.

You do know with this stat, it basically means DDG has an average of 1.3 direct free kick goals conceded per season?

DDG has used 9 season in Man Utd and has conceded 12 direct free kick. Absolute joker.

Five, six years ago, DeGea was a solid goalkeeper you could always count on to come through at all times. But this past season and the current one, he hasn't inspired ANY confidence whatsoever, because you'll never know if it's David DeGea that'll turn up or the Spanish version of Chigozie Agbim.

And in all probity, Petre Cech, in his prime was as good as any goalkeeper you'd pick, including prime DeGea. We've blamed Smalling, we've cussed Jones, we've said Linjollof is weak and puts the team under pressure, I don't think it's out of place to say the same for DDG cos this has been the case since the summer of 2018- such a long stretch of a dip in form, so much the outstanding outings are now few and far between. Riding on past exploits can only take one so far, very soon, it'll become a general consensus that he isn't all that, but I hope, for his sake, that such a day never comes.
