Space your paragraphs. |
Okay. Show me the stuff you're made of. |
Frank 317? Seriously? What happened to 16? |
Repteam: Short stories. Any genre. Interesting + educating + funny stories have better chances. That is, any of d three or any story that sweep one of their feet.Okay. Thanks for the prompt reply. What's the website? And I hope this is really legit. |
It's so sad indeed. |
When you say 'stories', what exactly do you mean? Short stories or full novels? What number of words? What genre? |
priscaoge: @OP where is my ownUh...you're actually pretty, with sexy eyes. But I don't know if you're also beautiful. |
Pelig, the post screams for paragraphs. |
No one from Rhema? ![]() #sad# |
MissMeiya, all4naija, InesQor and MrAnony1 - The four of you are very intelligent, but please argue with love and respect. |
HumbledbYGrace: Oga Larry, how are the Lariets? Missed you tons. We need to throw a get together for all those days we've been apart, how we go do am?Where've you been? I nearly came to Pretoria. Don't you ever leave me again! |
maclatunji: Thank you for your interest, I will send you PMs. I will elaborate after I get a response from you. I am not sure of Nairaland's mail system's delivery or policy that guides who can receive mail from who.Okay. My e-mail address is on my signature. |
HumbledbyGrace! Wow! I live to see you again? That's an awesome privilege. |
maclatunji: ...Keep watching then.Okay. Can I participate? |
blackprowler: There is no scientific point of view. Science is the way to get truth. Science is truth. Everything you have around you results from science. It is the bible and other religious books that are points of view. They are dogma. It is sad that people, even some science students, don't know what science isI said 'scientist's point of view', I didn't say 'scientific point of view'...there is a great difference. Well, I'm not a science student, as you so put it. But I know that even some scientific claims have been flawed. |

Shuo! Why isn't my book in the list na? |
I sense envy brewing among those girls. |
texanomaly: SorryYou called Larrymoor by my name. |
hifaif: Literature affords you much more freedom than essay or article-writing where you have to stick to all the rules of grammar.I don't want to derail the OP's thread. Poetry, a genre of Literature, may afford you the 'freedom' you said, but I disagree when it comes to Prose (fictions and all). You are the first man to tell me a work of prose can be wanting in grammar. I'm sure you know that essays and articles are also works of literature. And as for your comparison with Hemingway, there is a diversity in styles, my brother. I read Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea' and didn't find any fault in his use of conjunctions. What I am saying is that when the same conjunction appears numerous in a single sentence (as I noticed in the OP's posts) it becomes an excessive use. |
hifaif: Bro, good observation. But you should know that there is no such thing as excessive use of conjunctions in works of Literature.Really? You mean conjunctions can be overly used? Wow! Tell me something, I'm willing to learn. |
texanomaly: Sorry LarrySun. You did walk right I to that one. Technically the God of Israel is not the God of your Fathers or mine, for that matter. Although I believe He is the same. ![]() |

Okay. Nice intro. But I detect a faint whiff of redundancy in the narratives. And the former parts of the posts are guilty of excessive use of conjunctions; 'and' most especially. Some clauses also scream for punctuations. Above all, you are doing a great job. |
Orikinla: The quoted intro from a true news report and the response of Father James Thomas to the report shows that it is happening in America and in the present 21st century. But I have not made up my mind on the city in the US.It's supposed to be a fiction, right? If it's, I wonder why a real report has to be created. |
What's the settings of the story? with careful plot development, it'd be intriguing. A very nice introduction. Well done, sir. |
