princesa: #OutOfTheBlueChris should listen more to Westlife tracks. |
texanomaly: hmmm...Why do I doubt that you doubt it? I know, I know, true words are not always pretty . |
Rest in peace, Vivianc. Nairalanders miss you. We love you. |
texanomaly: heheYou, Texy dearie, are the corpuscle that always render my ventricles aflutter. |
chris_villa: you made a mistake, your chain is not accurate and complete I think she loves you too. |
princesa: How do i prove to these people that Chris and I ain't a pair, Of course we don't. The innocent Nairalanders wouldn't like hearing that furniture begins to gather wings in our honeymoon . |
chris_villa: did she say that? No, I said that. And she's not stingy (whatever that means o), you're the one who needs to settle down. Jumping from Vickii to Caracta to HBG to Gelco to the gentle Princesca isn't something you should horn with pride. |
princesa: you'd better join the train, i hear they are free chicken and chips for those at the other side, or you like the 'maga' train?I don't do trains, I do jets. chris_villa: larry are using me as a tool to reconcile with your girlieMy girlie? You're kidding me aren't you? You cannot claim she's no more yours just because you'v done some ***jobs both in the upper and nether regions. |
Not a single 'like' on the first page, and the post makes frontpage. Isn't that weird? |

Rap maestro: e.g? Don't see any, but do pls show me so that I won't make the same mistake....Now Maestro has turned a female too? Shall cease ever wonder? I thought Chris was the only hermaphrodite in Nairaland. Nice seeing you, buddy. Where've you been? |
FLYGERIAN91: I know u were bruv... It's just that sometimes, some comments can put some people I.e the writer off.. M not sayin u gave wrong advice Buh there are ways u correct someone that the person will be soo happy to take correction n there are ways u correct same person n that person will just get discouraged... Either ways, remain positive...Okay, truce it is. |
FLYGERIAN91: Then u must forgive me if I say that you Mr, are a poor reader... Trust me... M an English student n I love literature... I must say reading this article is as easy as reading any other article written by following the rules of writing... Who says rules can't be broken? Must we follow whatever the white man has placed?? The white man made his rules so why can't weOkay, if you say so. I was only trying to help. |
Danhumprey: Come here, Larry!Hey buddy! I'm sorry about the 'Paradox', I shall continue it soon. But the Collaboration, I suspect, was heading on a mortality course. Maybe I'll somehow bring it back to life, I'm not sure. PS: I'm working on something new ((Black Maria) which I'll drop soon. You'll love it. ![]() Bless you, sir. |
Print all the way. You don't have to worry about battery consumption. |
chris_villa: .You won't get much ladies with that signature you foster. Too prurient. |
louie3: thats my style of writing.its nt supposed to b polished english.its a lytle of broken mixed wit englishBelieve me, writing with poor English expression is not a good style for a writer. If you're writing in Pidgin English, stick to it, and if you're writing in plain English, let it be so. Mixing both requires a great deal of careful concentration. |

chris_villa: .Brilliant. That's just absolutely brilliant of you, Chris! ![]() |
cheruv: They'd improve but their poor command of english language usually stems from the faulty background they had in secondary schulOh, but I'm going to disagree with you on that. I attended a crappy secondary school where the most brilliant student can only spell his own name correctly. I scaled through because of the books I read and my love for words. Are you saying that The Bells does not boast of grammatically-cursed pupils? A good school does not a good writer make, trust me. There's a wide gap between a story-teller and a writer. A story-teller may not care much about his grammar, trusting therefore in the professional scrutiny by an editor. But a writer, however, must have a good and easy control of grammar and syntax. To a writer, every word scribbled must count. Again, it is not necessary that every good writer must turn good story-teller (I know a lot of great, great writers whose stories didn't turn out to be pearls of wisdom), but it won't hurt if a good story-teller writes good, because, let's face it, writing with bad grammar is like crossing the Atlantic in a bath-tub. It is good to have the urge to write, but it is better to polish one's grammar along the way. To write is human but to edit is divine. So many writers have scribbled their way to homes in the ghetto, leaving a trail of pulsing adverbs, wooden characters, and vile passive-voice constructions behind them. I'm not saying one has to be an English major before becoming a writer. But we need to always look at the bigger picture; we should see the forest instead of the trees. We should, therefore, learn how to stop spouting doggerel about how sour the grapes of today have become. If you want to be a good writer, you must do two things above others: read a lot and write a lot. There's no way around these two things that I'm aware of, no shortcut. Although analysis may be able to explain how the colours of the flower of syntax are produced, but never by what process its odour is produced, if you get what I mean. |
