It's Capped At $40000

Go With Cheaper Schools Or Those With Discount. Your Total Scholarship Package Is $40000 And This Is Regardless Of The Country. If Your Tuition Takes All Of It, Then You'd Have Only Yourself To Blame. NDDC Will First Clear Your Tuition In Full And Remit The Balance To You For Upkeep. Choose Wisely 😀
Thank you so much. No clause to return after the program right?

Hi, Congratulations, I saw you were successful on the nddc scholarship thread. Please I'm applying for this year's own and have some questions for you, if you don't mind.

Is there a fixed amount or will they cover all the costs? I'm asking because I have offers for a 1 year program and a 2 year program but the 2 year program's total is the same amount as the 1 year program. One is in UK, the other is in another EU country. I want to apply with the 2 year offer but don't know if this will put me at a disadvantage? I saw somewhere that the amount is 24k pounds, is it still the same regardless of country? The 1 year tuition is about 39k pounds but the 2 year program is roughly 8k euros per year. Both are full time programs.

Is the scholarship classified as government sponsorship? Were you able to apply for a graduate visa after your studies without a letter of permission from them? I'm asking because I can see a clause on ukcisa that you must have a letter permitting you to stay back/apply for a graduate visa if you were sponsored by a government or international scholarship body.

I saw a pilot program opened for PR to Canada and want to apply for it.

My main challenges are -

1. Will my work experience in Nigeria counts as per NOC TEER requirement?
2. ECA accreditation of my Nigeria certificates
The major requirement is getting a job offer from approved employers within the community. From what I can see on the website, the 1 year minimum work experience will depend on what teer/noc the job you get is in.

2. ECA is required for majority in the pool except you have a canadian degree. There are organisations that do this, WES is one of them.

I don't know much about prepmyTCF. You can't really go wrong with reussir ou formation. Ensure you're on the right websites. They have more than 100 prompts each on the EE and EO parts and over 30 full length CO and CE tests. Most people cannot even finish all the questions they have, so ensure you're on the right website.

They give you structure that is repetitive and irrelevant to your goal of writing and passing TCF/TEF. Especially with the one year subscription you’re planning to buy. Doing exercises there for free will serve you better than paying for it as a real resource.
Duolingo can be quite useful, though I'm not sure it's useful enough to warrant subscribing (the free version is enough for me). That repetitive nature can really help things sink in especially in the higher levels (B1+). It won't help much with listening though. I recently passed the delf b2 exam after 2 months of offline French classes. I was still on the A2 section in duolingo (but I had been learning for over a year at that time on the app) when this happened although I included other sources like lawlessfrench and youtube.

I think Duolingo helps in building vocabulary. You'll know so many words but it won't be obvious to you till you, perhaps, come across a reading passage or when you're speaking and it'll seem like you're pulling words from thin air. Cependant, it will not do anything for your listening skills beyond A1/A2 level

I think it's also very good for conversational purposes plus the stories and podcasts are funny. Subscribing has its benefits and if they end up sharing it, each person would be paying like 16k naira. Not bad for 1 year access. Duolingo is not enough on it's own, not at all, but it has its uses especially since they've updated the app and the free version doesn't have many useful features again

UNN the first indeginous University in Nigeria and oldest in the country established in 1955 but started academic activities in October, 1960 just to mark the nation's independence.

Note: by 1961 UI was still an appendage of University of London managed by the colonialists, more like an external study center for University of London.

Correction: the second one is the senior staff building.

TravelRe: If Given 26 Million Naira; Stay Or Japa by Lastbornbuns: 11:11am On Oct 03, 2024
POF required for a family of 3 for Canada's express entry is 22,483 CAD which is more or less the 26m naira he has. That money won't go far on student visa (it's literally the equivalent of 1 year tuition in some schools) and with all the speculation and instability surrounding student visas nowadays, he's better off applying for permanent residency. If not for any other reason but to be free (relatively) from immigration control and have access to more opportunities.

Hence, I'd advise he studies the express entry program very well, decides what category he or his wife can fit into, work towards meeting the requirements for that category. It might take a year but if well planned, will pay off greatly. In Canada, they will have to upskill/reskill/do whatever it takes to adapt and position themselves well. It won't be easy and it will take a lot of time and patience but they have to play the long game and think of their future (plus that of their child). There are bridging programs available that help settle new PRs and they shouldn't be scared of going back to school if necessary.

The way Nigeria is going, 26m is quickly losing value and by the time it finishes, japa-ing would've become even more expensive. T-pain still has 7 years to rule.

One currency's millions is not even up to half of 100k in another currency. Quel dommage!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Lastbornbuns: 12:45pm On Sep 27, 2024
Seems you don't know some international students claim asylum. This year alone, more than 13,000 international students have petitioned for asylum.

Besides the same way you think refuges are uneducated and can't speak English, is the same way someone else will be looking down on international students at all these colleges they've termed "Diploma mills"

No immigrant group has it easy. It's tough for students and its even tougher for PR applicants. Anybody japaing should be properly informed. We've seen ircc changing tides. The people whose complaints are founded are those ones that left wayy back before all these changes started (before 2020 even) because they're the ones that entered with the "study visa to work permit to pr" format. Now, e don cast.

Duchynwa:
I can never understand this, they make it very difficult for students, some of them highly educated and young and can quickly contribute to the economy bit rather take a refugee that can't speak English and keep them in hotels, paying them. Not that I don't wish the asylum seekers well but I can never understand Canada in matters like this.

I struggle to understand Canada and their immigration decisions. They make things difficult for students, many of whom are highly educated, young and could quickly contribute to the economy. Instead, their focus seems to be on the refugees who may not speak English, giving them money, putting them in hotels (all these at high costs). While I wish the asylum seekers well, Canada’s priorities in these matters are confusing to me.

Please does anyone know if Federal Government Colleges pay corpers?
They usually don't (in rare cases they do, it's a very very small amount. Like 5k or less) but what they can do is provide accommodation for their corpers and if its a boarding school, sometimes feeding is included.

Felicitations! Where did you write your exam?

kevoh:
Just got my TEF results. Thankfully, I made it. Thanks 79733139 for those Mathieu books. It came in handy when preparing for my EO.
Other resources I used:
1. French School TV (on YouTube) download and watch their live old videos. Listen to the remarks made after a mock situation of expression orale and expression ecrite.
2. Joined a french discord group where you meet and speak with other french learners and native speakers. Good for expression orale especially if you don't have any body to speak with.
3. Wrote at least 1 letter and fait divers every day for 3 months and ran them through Chat GPT for corrections. Chat GPT was my buddy. grin It came through for me in IELTS and now for TEF. Chat GPT helped me tremendously. I was always scoring between B1 and B2, (I even scored A2 once grin) but I focused more on the corrections GPT gave and strengthened my weak points, till I finally hit C1 a day to the exam after 3 months. Eventually, I scored a C1 in the real exam.
4. Bunch of links and videos I got from YouTube/ Facebook.

In conclusion, one has to practice, practice and practice. 700k no be joke!
Good luck!

Your application profile is as good as you never stepped a foot into Canada. You are NOT CEC category as you did not graduate and neither did you work with a work permit. So you would receive ZERO points for Canadian experience and education.

At least you actually went to school in Nigeria so you can access you nd and HND then use that for express entry.

You having lived in Canada for 7.5 years sadly has no bearing to your PR points. It quite sad that you couldn’t make it work in 7.5 years.
If anything, I think his 7.5-year stay in Canada will negatively affect his pr application.

1. He was escorted by 3 officials from Canada to Nigeria after being detained whilst a travel document was being prepared for him. (if that's not deportation then...)
2. The Canadian government paid for, not only his flight ticket, but the tickets of the 3 escorts to get him back to Nigeria.
3. He has a debt to a canadian school
4. He got a 4 year (presumably) Study visa, overstayed for extra and has ~4 years of work experience? This alone will raise a lot of flags. You're not supposed to work more than 20 hours during term time and there aren't enough summers/holidays to accrue that number of years of experience.
5. He doesn't have plans of settling his debt to the school, hence he cannot claim points for Canadian education (that he didn't finish).

Seems like a ban in the making to me but I could be wrong. Definitely won't be a straightforward application.

Greetings,

Kindly assist with clarification on the below language requirements. My sister obtained B2, C1, B2 and C1 in reading, listening, writing and speaking respectively in the TEF exam. she got 6.5, 6.0, 4.5 and 6.5 for speaking, listening, reading and writing respectively in ielts. Does the ielts qualify to be used as second language?
From ircc website, I extracted the below screenshot. Please elders in the house, kindly clarify. thanks.
From the screenshot you shared, her ielts scores aren't up to the minimum to gain points for a second language. (I can see 5.0 to 9.0 there, for second language). Her tef scores should be enough to create a profile. Do confirm the B2 scores are nclc 7 (not 6). She may or may not need to retake ielts if her crs score with the tef is around the minimum cut-off of previous French category draws.
