If you understand my point your article won't be as long as you put it here. I never said government didn't fail on their part but you should understand that the government is a product of what we've made to believe in Africa. If a politician send their Wards to study abroad, what have their wards become, are they employable, what have their degrees done to our communities back home.

My point is if you could live and raise a reasonable amount that would sponsor your academics overseas, what then can you not become. Most times we get economical wiser when the thought of saving to go abroad comes to mind, we start gathering fun from every angle.

Yes overseas is peaceful and secured that's a bigger scam, they made the environment suitable for subconscious slavery, they pay you with right hand and collect back with left hand.
You should understand that once the government has failed, any effort you're making is swimming against the tide. Suffer head no de give award o. To you it's subconscious slavery, to me it's economic stability.
At least I'm sure the government there takes care of their citizens in the face of disaster. I'm sure their presidents are not always "shocked" when they hear of bad news in the country. I'm sure their leaders are not always saying empty words and sending useless condolence messages to families of victims.

During covid lockdown, well meaning individuals and international organisations donated items to aid the people plus the ones the govt claimed they used billions of naira to buy in the name of palliatives. Your leaders locked all of them in warehouses till angry citizens destroyed some of those warehouses and carted them away. That one no follow for slavery? The same cycle of leaders keep getting rotated. The masses keep getting poorer and even more uneducated and you're telling me the "West that is peaceful and secured" is subconsciously enslaving me. Toh! Make them carry me de go

Well, when I was young and naive I used to think this same way grin making plans on how to better Nigeria. But na who de alive and don chop belleful de build country.

Is it that people don't know how to live freely, peacefully and happily in Nigeria? Yes I agree that there are so many challenges in Nigeria but I tell you for free, Nigeria is the most free country in the world. You can become anything you want.

I don't understand how someone with over N10million will spend all that money searching for green pastures, to me you are already on a fresh green pasture.

This is a total scam, you spend so much money educationing yourself to work for people (Whites) who don't even have your level of education.

The huge money you spend educating yourself goes to their purse, you graduate and work to better their economy.

I think Africa is really sponsoring the well being of the Western world. Back home we use all our savings to buy gadgets, expensive cars and phones. Cars that we don't even have roads to drive them. They keep releasing new version of phones, imagine people using expensive phone for a show off. Don't we think our monies are still going back to where these luxuries are imported from?

Celebrities keep upgrading their garages without employable investment. If I talk they will say what concerns you. If you know the amount of money going out from Nigeria alone for importation of phones you will cry. Yes phones are useful but using phone that worth 500k or above while you are earning below 150k is waste, subscription not even included.

We keep blaming government for making live difficult but when we manage raise money we can't invest. We have empty land everywhere, no farming, foodstuffs are getting scarce now, but someone will prefer to raise like 5million to go and do care job abroad.

I'm tired with black man mentality cry cry cry cry
You could start the process undecided
How is the government not making life difficult? Is there any justifiable excuse for ASUU strike? What you expect these students that have been at home for 15 months in the past 2 years to do? How do you expect us to feel when we see the ruling class going to this same West, that you don't want us to go to, celebrating with their graduating kids?
Why won't I blame the government? Is it my fault that I've been at home for 15 months in the past 2 years? Is it my fault the government is "broke" but can cough out money to fund luxurious "aid" to a neighbouring country and fund expensive trips all over the world? Is it my fault that bandits and kidnappers have taken over? They're even in Abuja, the one city that's supposed to be the most secure!

Who do you expect to go to farm when they don't know when bandits/unknown gunmen will come around? If you manage to farm, cattle will help you harvest the fruit of your labour. If by chance, your harvest is bountiful, how will you transport it? Through the hole-riddled roads? Or the bandit-occupied rails? We're currently in rainy season. Do you know how the roads turn to bodies of water during this time? When you finally get to the market and sell your produce, you discover that its not even enough for a decent lifestyle not to talk of being enough for the next farming season

But of course! It's not the government's fault citizens don't feel safe in their "homeland". It's not the government's fault Universities have been shut since the beginning of this year. Its not the government's fault more than 60% of the youth are unemployed (lazy youth! WHen thEre are eMptY fArMlaNds undecided never mind they don't have the tools to farm with). It's not the government's fault that the exchange rate is deep down in the trenches. No, its the fault of all the average men and women in Nigeria that can't even eat 3 times a day, some can't even afford a roof over their head, whose only thought is what next to do to keep body and soul together.

Nigeria a free country indeed. Where lawyers and their aides, journalists, etc are harassed for speaking out.
Who wan travel make e travel, as far as its legal and well thought out. Who wan remain, make e remain. My mates in private universities are already doing nysc preparing to japa and we, that can't afford it, are here checking daily for news on ASUU strike and you have the mind to tell us to farm and not blame the government?

So like this now, you think these students that have been frustrated will want to invest in a sinking ship if they see money? Chukwu ekwela ka my own children check "ASUU strike update 2022" the way I'm doing now. Inukwa farming angry
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Under Peter Obi by Lastbornbuns: 12:53pm On Aug 10, 2022
sukkot:
Now there is no question in my mind that Peter Obi is a very honorable and dignified character and in fact i may go as far as to say that out of the 3 major contestants he has the best character. He comes across as someone who has conquered that primitive urge to steal and loot anything steal-able and lootable. he carries himself with dignity. He is a good man.

However when it comes to administration the good characters described above hinder the mans ability to perform. he is a staunch conservative and believes in preserving and keeping and conservative investments. His case is the biblical story of the man given 5 talents and he buries it in the ground and when his master returns he returns the 5 talents back without multiplying it. This is his spiritual modus operandi and quite frankly you cannot give what you dont have

Nigeria under peter obi would be a hotbed of DEFLATION. too many goods but not enough money to buy it and so prices would have to come down but still there is no money to buy it and all the goods would end up perishing while everyone is broke and cant afford it. the consumers and the sellers would all go broke. how does this occur ? because all the cash flow of the nation would be used by obi to invest in conservative low value investments which take time to generate any profits. he is not going to go crazy or be creative with out of the box investments. its all going to be conservative investments and this would stifle the cash flow at the top and it would not trickle down and you would have a situation of money scarcity. there would be no money in circulation . no money on the streets . you think you are under poverty now ? the kind of hunger that would hit the nation under peter obi would be guinness book of record type of hunger. and not because he is a bad man or he would loot your money ? but simply because you cant give what you dont have. he would bury the 5 talents and then dig it back up in 8 years and hand it over to his successor
With how high inflation rate is now (both reported and unreported), 4 years is not nearly enough time for the deflation you have described to occur.

FamilyRe: How Do I Train My 3 N Half Year Old. I'm Lost! by Lastbornbuns: 7:48am On Aug 04, 2022
Children at this age are "monkey see, monkey do". They're basically a blank slate and what they see around them is what they'll assume to be the norm. Do you and your wife kiss in front of her? No matter how sly or fast you think you were in the kissing, desist from it if you don't want her to replicate your actions. You can do kisses on the cheek or forehead for her to know show of affection is okay but it's not okay to go around kissing strangers. Also make sure the movies you watch don't have those things and family/friends don't do them in her presence.

Back when my niece was going on 2, there's this pantosaurus video her mom usually puts for her. It goes "what's in your pants belongs only to you, your pants cover up your private parts.... if someone asks to see just tell them NO!" The video is hilarious but very educative and catchy. It's been stuck in my head for more than 3 years now. And it was acted out. Showing them such videos will help. Children are very innocent. You have to train her now so it'll stick. It's never to early to start this kind of education for your kids whether male or female. A lot of pedophiles seeking their next prey in this world o.

For the disobedience part.. you never see something. You'll vow never to beat kids and encounter the greatest temptation of your life. It's hard but try not to beat. It's because you were beaten that your mind is first going to that line of action. Discipline does not mean beatings. You can take away her favourite toy, stop her from watching her shows, sit in a corner, face the wall or tell her she won't follow you to whatever place she likes visiting (like grandpa/ma's house/park/farm/supermarket etc) till she apologies/cleans up her mess. Don't beat o because one day she'll either become immune to such beatings or she'll challenge you when she's grown. Let's not even talk of the trauma and self esteem issues beatings give children. You want your child to be free with you and not fear that Daddy will beat her till she sees stars.

Also, she's still very young. This is what they do at this age. My niece that's currently 6 eh.. I've seen shege in her hands. What I normally do is give myself timeouts when she annoys me too much or shout at her embarassed I absolutely hate beating children and seeing them get beaten. The best part is the child will eventually seek you out and apologise when their tantrum passes. Children like affection and being cuddled. Once you shout at her or punish her and she begins to cry, just give her 5 mins, she'll come and hold your leg and be crying. That's your cue to pick her up and then talk to her. Talking to them in the midst of their tantrum is useless. Wait till it passes.

The day I get a girl child in my life, i will weep terribly, then look for a way to give her up for adoption. A girl child will only bring sorrow, depression and anxiety to her parents. If you like use a soft or iron hand, it won't solve anything. She will end up being what she wants to be. But ensure she's not been sexually abused by an uncle or aunty. 3 years is too small. Also, mind the kind of movies you watch, thinking the little girl doesn't know anything. Also, desist from kissing your wife in her presence. Even some parents knack in front of their kid thinking she's too small to understand what's going on. It's well.
You'll weep when you get a girl child but you want to marry someone else's girl child undecided

We have this lecturer taking us Eco in my school.

Eco is filled with calculations which are not self explanatory.

Our lecturer will come into the class, and just flip through the pages. He barely spends 30 minutes during a two hours lecture program.

Calculations will remain unsolved.

He won't even bother about maintaining orderliness in the class before he starts lecturing, and he does not give a damn if everyone can hear him speak.

There's always high record of mass failure in his courses. (I feel D, E and C are failure)

We usually have low percentage of students getting A or B

How do you justify that?
This must be Mathematical economics. I'd advise you find Schaum Peter series or alpha chaing books on the subject. Schaum really breaks it down.

He is right

Inflation is what matters

Is your salary in dollars.

The only people who are supposed to be worried are importers, people travelling abroad, people paying for school fee abroad etc
Who are the importers selling to? Don't you think the importers will pass on the cost to their customers? Who are their customers if not Nigerians? The people paying school fees abroad are converting their naira to dollar. For those that legit earned their naira, dont you think it would pain them? The school fees are even more expensive for them. If they budgeted $10k 5m when $1=N500 and now $1=710, don't you see there is a shortfall? For those that looted their naira, they will have to loot even more naira to meet the dollars required.

Also, inflation can be caused when cost of production goes up. As Nigeria imports most goods it means that invariably, cost has gone up. These things go hand in hand. You can't expect purchasing power of a weak currency to be high especially when the country imports way more than it exports.
PoliticsRe: $1 = 730 Naira??? Please What Makes Dollar Rise In Nigeria? by Lastbornbuns: 7:52pm On Jul 27, 2022
It's majorly because of the political and economic situation in Nigeria. Insecurity has a lot to do with it. Foreign investors are trying to recoup their losses. The country is very unstable. Plus the mad policies CBN keeps bringing out. I honestly don't know where that Governor got his own econ degree from. Demand for dollar keeps increasing and there's no supply of it.
