BC has an international Post graduate pathway for graduates of natural and applied sciences (Masters or PhD). No job offer required. Check bc pnp page for more details. They have a pdf of eligible courses in eligible universities.

NO, the truth is that outsiders do not know the outcome of the meeting and the journalists and bloggers have decided to go on free-for-all speculations.
ASUU is meeting to consider what FG has offered and there is still hope!
But according to Punch, a member of ASUU NEC said FG isn't serious. Osodeke said "the meeting wasn't good"
How much longer will this last oh Lord?

Bros, my eye is deceiving me. Pls help me and check these numbers POSS2022... for PhD in Imo.
...25929
...12180
...28108 M or F name?
...22902
Convince me to see the reasons to waist my precious time and money to apply again, then take risk on the road for interview.
Those numbers don't exist in any ptdf list for Imo PhD (interview and award). All the winners in Imo are on the interview list. The first 2 on UK list got it and the first person on GFM and 3rd to last got it. So what else are you saying?
Seems your mind is made up to believe what you want. As for your earlier quote, I'm still an UG from the South East and I know my profile is already competitive for ptdf oss if I were to apply. That doesn't mean there might not/won't be people with better profiles than mine. Just 4 people got in and they're over 50 on the interview list for Imo. Let's be realistic with our expectations abeg. There are other less competitive and anxiety inducing scholarships out there. Find them and move on.

Education / Re: What Was Your First GPA &now Your Current CGPA by Lastbornbuns: 10:33am On Aug 14, 2022
Hormorbusaryor:
My dream is to be a first class graduate
2021 I got admission so time went by we did our first semester exam I checked my result then I saw a gpa of 3.15 I was really down but I said to my self that you can do better.i didn't let my first semester result weigh me down as I prepared really hard for my second semester. Just few days back results was out I was scared to death that my heart was beating fast but finally I saw a gpa of 4.11 so my Cgpa is 3.61 I don't know if I should be happy or not but I give glory to God
I really have to work hard for my 200l ..
Any talk or advice on this pls?
Keep up, don't relent. Don't mind school na scam sayers. Don't mind anybody that tells you first class is rubbish. If you can get it, get it. It's better to have it and not need it than otherwise.
You're lucky you get to see your results after each semester. Some schools won't even let you know where you stand till you enter the next level. Work smart. Before you know it, you'll be done and even if you didn't get the first class, you'll still have a high grade.

Devote the next 3/4/ years to improving yourself and you won't regret it. Sha don't bite off more than you can chew. Time management is key in everything. Take time to also chill and make useful friends. The friends you make form your network. Also befriend your coursemates/senior colleagues so you'll get tips from them on how to make things easier.

Ask questions and understand how your lecturers like their questions answered. Learn how to follow them. Some lecturers don't want you to think outside the box; just return what you were given. Some lecturers want to see the extra effort from you. Just find one senior colleague that's where you want to be and follow their footsteps.

Goodluck!

Hahaha
Eye service
Oga rest with your 2.2 please. You're from the South East where competition is very thick and you think you stand a chance with 9 credits, 2.2 Bsc and narrow escape 4.5 msc when there are people with distinctions in o level and first class in both degrees undecided

Please let's take it as a learning experience and move on. This bitterness is unnecessary. If you think your claims are founded, there's nothing stopping you from posting on twitter and tagging ptdf handles and other "influencers" and activists. There's nothing to be scared of in maths. Work on improving your skills and you'll be fine. There are also non IT roles in demand in canada. You'd have to do your research. Or you/your wife can switch to nursing if you like. I'm sure there's no country that'd reject nurses.

I don't know how to explain this. But I'll appreciate inputs and advise from fellow Nairalanders. Have been a guest for a while.
I intend starting the process before the years runs out( Cos I don't want to restock another set of birds after selling off my old layers by Dec). w
If you/your wife are willing to learn French (to boost your scores) you could try express entry. Though I don't know how your HBP could affect things. Or try Canada study visa. Your wife could apply for an undergraduate program in canada. If she's in year 2, I think she can transfer (not all unis will accept).
Canada is the most cost effective (and best option imo) for studying. Even cheaper if you go as a PR. Though EE takes a lot of time nowadays. The earlier the better. Start learning a relevant tech skill (data science, software engineering/development, Web development, cloud engineering etc) since you already have the educational background. You can decide to do a diploma/certificate or even a masters to help you transition well. It's best and way easier to make the move before kids come.

You could try France but the process isn't as straightforward as Canada's

Good luck

If you understand my point your article won't be as long as you put it here. I never said government didn't fail on their part but you should understand that the government is a product of what we've made to believe in Africa. If a politician send their Wards to study abroad, what have their wards become, are they employable, what have their degrees done to our communities back home.

My point is if you could live and raise a reasonable amount that would sponsor your academics overseas, what then can you not become. Most times we get economical wiser when the thought of saving to go abroad comes to mind, we start gathering fun from every angle.

Yes overseas is peaceful and secured that's a bigger scam, they made the environment suitable for subconscious slavery, they pay you with right hand and collect back with left hand.
You should understand that once the government has failed, any effort you're making is swimming against the tide. Suffer head no de give award o. To you it's subconscious slavery, to me it's economic stability.
At least I'm sure the government there takes care of their citizens in the face of disaster. I'm sure their presidents are not always "shocked" when they hear of bad news in the country. I'm sure their leaders are not always saying empty words and sending useless condolence messages to families of victims.

During covid lockdown, well meaning individuals and international organisations donated items to aid the people plus the ones the govt claimed they used billions of naira to buy in the name of palliatives. Your leaders locked all of them in warehouses till angry citizens destroyed some of those warehouses and carted them away. That one no follow for slavery? The same cycle of leaders keep getting rotated. The masses keep getting poorer and even more uneducated and you're telling me the "West that is peaceful and secured" is subconsciously enslaving me. Toh! Make them carry me de go

Well, when I was young and naive I used to think this same way grin making plans on how to better Nigeria. But na who de alive and don chop belleful de build country.

Is it that people don't know how to live freely, peacefully and happily in Nigeria? Yes I agree that there are so many challenges in Nigeria but I tell you for free, Nigeria is the most free country in the world. You can become anything you want.

I don't understand how someone with over N10million will spend all that money searching for green pastures, to me you are already on a fresh green pasture.

This is a total scam, you spend so much money educationing yourself to work for people (Whites) who don't even have your level of education.

The huge money you spend educating yourself goes to their purse, you graduate and work to better their economy.

I think Africa is really sponsoring the well being of the Western world. Back home we use all our savings to buy gadgets, expensive cars and phones. Cars that we don't even have roads to drive them. They keep releasing new version of phones, imagine people using expensive phone for a show off. Don't we think our monies are still going back to where these luxuries are imported from?

Celebrities keep upgrading their garages without employable investment. If I talk they will say what concerns you. If you know the amount of money going out from Nigeria alone for importation of phones you will cry. Yes phones are useful but using phone that worth 500k or above while you are earning below 150k is waste, subscription not even included.

We keep blaming government for making live difficult but when we manage raise money we can't invest. We have empty land everywhere, no farming, foodstuffs are getting scarce now, but someone will prefer to raise like 5million to go and do care job abroad.

I'm tired with black man mentality cry cry cry cry
You could start the process undecided
How is the government not making life difficult? Is there any justifiable excuse for ASUU strike? What you expect these students that have been at home for 15 months in the past 2 years to do? How do you expect us to feel when we see the ruling class going to this same West, that you don't want us to go to, celebrating with their graduating kids?
Why won't I blame the government? Is it my fault that I've been at home for 15 months in the past 2 years? Is it my fault the government is "broke" but can cough out money to fund luxurious "aid" to a neighbouring country and fund expensive trips all over the world? Is it my fault that bandits and kidnappers have taken over? They're even in Abuja, the one city that's supposed to be the most secure!

Who do you expect to go to farm when they don't know when bandits/unknown gunmen will come around? If you manage to farm, cattle will help you harvest the fruit of your labour. If by chance, your harvest is bountiful, how will you transport it? Through the hole-riddled roads? Or the bandit-occupied rails? We're currently in rainy season. Do you know how the roads turn to bodies of water during this time? When you finally get to the market and sell your produce, you discover that its not even enough for a decent lifestyle not to talk of being enough for the next farming season

But of course! It's not the government's fault citizens don't feel safe in their "homeland". It's not the government's fault Universities have been shut since the beginning of this year. Its not the government's fault more than 60% of the youth are unemployed (lazy youth! WHen thEre are eMptY fArMlaNds undecided never mind they don't have the tools to farm with). It's not the government's fault that the exchange rate is deep down in the trenches. No, its the fault of all the average men and women in Nigeria that can't even eat 3 times a day, some can't even afford a roof over their head, whose only thought is what next to do to keep body and soul together.

Nigeria a free country indeed. Where lawyers and their aides, journalists, etc are harassed for speaking out.
Who wan travel make e travel, as far as its legal and well thought out. Who wan remain, make e remain. My mates in private universities are already doing nysc preparing to japa and we, that can't afford it, are here checking daily for news on ASUU strike and you have the mind to tell us to farm and not blame the government?

So like this now, you think these students that have been frustrated will want to invest in a sinking ship if they see money? Chukwu ekwela ka my own children check "ASUU strike update 2022" the way I'm doing now. Inukwa farming angry

Politics / Re: Nigeria Under Peter Obi by Lastbornbuns: 12:53pm On Aug 10, 2022
sukkot:
Now there is no question in my mind that Peter Obi is a very honorable and dignified character and in fact i may go as far as to say that out of the 3 major contestants he has the best character. He comes across as someone who has conquered that primitive urge to steal and loot anything steal-able and lootable. he carries himself with dignity. He is a good man.

However when it comes to administration the good characters described above hinder the mans ability to perform. he is a staunch conservative and believes in preserving and keeping and conservative investments. His case is the biblical story of the man given 5 talents and he buries it in the ground and when his master returns he returns the 5 talents back without multiplying it. This is his spiritual modus operandi and quite frankly you cannot give what you dont have

Nigeria under peter obi would be a hotbed of DEFLATION. too many goods but not enough money to buy it and so prices would have to come down but still there is no money to buy it and all the goods would end up perishing while everyone is broke and cant afford it. the consumers and the sellers would all go broke. how does this occur ? because all the cash flow of the nation would be used by obi to invest in conservative low value investments which take time to generate any profits. he is not going to go crazy or be creative with out of the box investments. its all going to be conservative investments and this would stifle the cash flow at the top and it would not trickle down and you would have a situation of money scarcity. there would be no money in circulation . no money on the streets . you think you are under poverty now ? the kind of hunger that would hit the nation under peter obi would be guinness book of record type of hunger. and not because he is a bad man or he would loot your money ? but simply because you cant give what you dont have. he would bury the 5 talents and then dig it back up in 8 years and hand it over to his successor
With how high inflation rate is now (both reported and unreported), 4 years is not nearly enough time for the deflation you have described to occur.
