SenseiX:Energy law deals with contracts, asset management etc, not hands-on petroleum operations management, Bros!! I have worked in the oil industry and there is a massive difference between a field geologist, on oil rig driller, a cartographer and a lawyer who checks out the fine print. Which particular field operation did he manage for Exxon Mobil in Africa? What oil well did he cap? Which refinery did he supervise successfully? Please share the details. ![]() |
Gbigbon:Correct Guy! ![]() |
IyaIode:Yes, oh! He is the one and same Kachikwu!!! of Hints!!! ![]() |
tonychristopher:Nah, you are the one that lacks respect for your own father, so let him explain how he gave birth to a re.tard like you.... M16:Hehehe....!! I no know say you sef see am! ![]() |
Ofodirinwa:Abeg, help me ask dem! Shouldn't we be asking for a petroleum engineer trained in management and commercial operations? Am not even bothered about where he comes from, but is he the best candidate for the job !! |
tonychristopher:Why is this re.tard bleating? |
What NNPC needs at this time is a seasoned petroleum engineer with commercial aptitude, that can think outside the box. ![]() All other contemporaries of NNPC like PedeVesa of Venezuela, PetroBrass of Brazil, Q8 of Kuwait, Statoil of Norway, Saudi Aramco, Sinopec of China, etc, have all added value to their countries, by actively buying out oil-related assets around the globe to increase the foreign exchange earning capability of their companies/countries, increasing local refining capacity on their home turf while remaining good examples of well-run commercial enterprises. Such an engineer should drive the establishment of modular refineries to increase refining capacity at home, while pushing for the successful rehabilitation of existing ones using local expertise, as was done recently. Such an engineer should also place premium on the exploitation and commercialisation of our gas reserves in country, to drive the Gas-To-Power Programme and other such projects. Would a corporate lawyer be able to balance all these? I strongly doubt if Kachikwu has expertise in this area. ![]() |
Sweetlemon:Am trying so hard not to laugh, but.... LWKMD!! ![]() |
SenseiX:Chai! NNPC is finished! The undertaker has arrived! God have mercy on NNPC! Anyway, the only consolation is that NNPC GMDs do not last on that seat. In another 1 -2 years, he will be shown the way out! |
hoobs:Parochial thinking and tribalistic mentality.....smh. |

Is it petrol or diesel? ![]() Does it have power steering? |
No price? ![]() |
Stella42:The pictures of the decorated events you added in your last post were nice. How much would it cost to have such decorations done for an event? |
milychocs:Try Nairobi and Mombasa in Kenya. Beautiful cities in a beautiful country. I absolutely loved Nairobi. Their city centre reminded me of Broad Street in Lagos. Similar architecture. They still use the British right-hand drive system. Lots of tourist attractions, too. Then go to Gaborone in Botswana. You will have a great time in their numerous shopping malls. Next, visit Windhoek in Namibia, if their visa process does not frustrate you. You will come back renewed, invigorated and well rested! You can thank me later! ![]() |
Jasi7:Na dis one dem suppose bring come Lagos...once the bus enter that Apapa traffic, e go just make U-turn go wharf side enter di water, dey come to Marina! ![]() |
Sile12:Chai! This country has one of the best transportation systems in the world! from their Changi airport to the trains stations, everywhere is clean, neat and extremely well-organised. You can even use the time the trains depart to set your watch! |
Sile12: Sile12:Stop am! ![]() NB: That train you showed only runs twice a day during the week in Lagos. From 6am it goes to Ijoko Otta from Iddo in Lagos, then from 5pm, it makes the return trip. It does not run at any other time during the day. Only the DMT diesel locomotives run at other unscheduled times. During the weekend (i.e. on Sunday), the train station at Iddo shuts down. No train services are available. What a waste! ![]() |
kalakutta:The comparison was made based on performance, NOT on revenue profile. A governor that is clueless, inept, and visionless can have the highest revenue profile in the country, yet he would still be unable to achieve anything significant, substantial or concrete in his state. ![]() A governor that is creative, filled with purpose and vision may have one of the lowest revenue profiles in a country, but would still be able to deliver good programmes to improve his state and benefit his people, by cutting areas of waste, seeking international donors like the World bank to fund certain projects, utilising international grants judiciously etc. ![]() Lagos repaired federal roads, not because they could NOT find a better use for their revenue; but because they wanted to improve safety, transportation and development of their citizens and their state. Kogi has a lot of waterways. How many tourist companies has it attracted to the state to develop waterfront hotels or complexes? Why can't they build jetties or do Water Buses/Ferries like Lagos State did, to ferry people from one port to the other? Just create the enabling environment, work hard to get investors in these areas and give them the policies and support they need to succeed! Akwa Ibom transformed its healthcare system and other areas of infrastructure because it knew what such development would bring to its citizens. Ok, lets us look at Anambra, Enugu, Edo and even small little Ogun State that is in Nigeria. How different is their revenue profile from Kogi? Did Obi not plug waste in Anambra and did he not leave Anambra in a better state than he met it? Kogi is even lucky, they are close to Abuja. Instead of using this proximity to attract people to its state, it has remained quiet, reclusive and unable to utilise its proximity to Abuja to its own advantage in a way that would create benefits for its citizens. Nassarawa on the other hand that is also close to Abuja has built housing estates, repaired roads and has done everything to attract new businesses and the best set of investors into the state, to develop it. Do the governors that have governed Nassarawa have two heads? Most parts of that state are better developed than Kogi! ![]() As for having discordant ethnic groups in a state, that is nothing new! Look at Delta, etc. Delta is a mini-Nigeria with the Itsekiri, Urhobo, Isoko, Igbo all lumped within the same state. Even other states have different ethnic groups within them and yet their governors have managed to develop their states. |
surveycash:Please post the pictures you took on the trip and kindly share a summary of the things you noticed during the trip with us. The management of NRC was part of those that sabotaged GEJ's efforts at revamping the train services in this country. Their level of customer care or customer service is atrocious. |
Oduogboyaga1:Guy, leave those excuses I beg. You said all iconic schools in Kogi State have been refurbished. What about the non-iconic ones? Must they be left to rot? If what you have said is true, why didn't the govt demolish the dilapidated structures when it built the new ones to replace them? ![]() Was it because he was preserving them as artifacts in his museum? |
Kossyne:I don't care where he is from!! Does his hometown confer any special powers on his ability to get the job done?? He was elected by the majority of people in Kogi State to govern the entire state, so his brief while in office is to ensure there is progress and development in ALL parts of the state, irrespective of where he comes from! ![]() Where he comes from, is the last thing that should interest anybody! Such thinking is parochial and backward. Look at the ex-governor of Akwa Ibom. Does anybody remember his village when they talk about his achievements?? If it was possible to rotate governors, I would ask them to rotate Akpabio to Kogi State for 3 years to implement a development programme for the state and ensure it is fully executed! |
kalakutta:Please which poster is being mischievous? Is it the original poster that posted pictures of the dilapidated schools or the one that posted pictures of newly renovated ones? Kindly clarify, oh! |
Konboko:In one breath, you acknowledge that Wada has not met expectation. Good. In the next breath, you are saying that the roads that are bad in Kogi West are federal roads? Bros, did you conduct a census? How come you know that the only bad roads in Kogi West are federal roads? Even if they are federal roads, what effort did Wada make to ensure that they are reconstructed by the federal govt? Lokoja is less than 3 hours drive to Abuja, oh! So don't tell me the seat of power was too far for Wada to get to, and apply continuous pressure on Federal Govt for solutions to those roads. ![]() As for the Senators & House of Reps members representing Kogi West, the thunder that will fire them for non-performance is still doing press-up and will appear at their doorstep very soon. It will start with the clueless, ostentatious Dino Melaye before moving on to the others. Finally, several state governors have upgraded and refurbished many federal roads in their domain in order to reduce carnage, prevent casualty on those roads and ensure their citizens live a better quality of life. In Lagos State, ex-gov Fashola refurbished so many federal roads that we lost count. Some of them, he even re-constructed from scratch. Are the people of Lagos not far better off for it? ![]() After the refurbishment, Fashola asked the federal govt to reimburse him for fixing their roads. Is it a crime if Wada does the same, or must more lives be lost on those bad roads before he takes action? |
Oduogboyaga1:Bros, you should say "newly renovated" and not newly constructed, please. While you are posting the photos, please tell us in clear terms the total number of schools in Kogi state, the total number of dilapidated buildings in each of those schools and the total number of buildings renovated under Wada's administration, in each of those schools. Also include the names of the schools and the districts where each of them are located to give people a clearer picture. Publish each of the 'before renovation' and 'after renovation' photos too, if possible. NB: Finally, include the WAEC scores of secondary schools students who passed their exams in your next post, because it is not just a few renovated buildings that determine or indicate good performance in the education sector. In 2014, only 15% - 24% of the entire batch of students in Kogi Schools that sat for WAEC/Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSSCE exams, passed their papers with 5 credits. I don't know if you would call that a good performance. http://dailypost.ng/2014/08/29/2014-wassce-statistics-show-states-highest-percentage-pass-possible-cause-mass-failure/ |
Oduogboyaga1:Oga, only 1 structure in all the photos you posted there, was constructed from scratch by Wada. The very 1st building you posted is located in Wada's senatorial district and it is an old building that was renovated, not too long ago. Most of the renovated schools are also in his area. In other senatorial districts, individuals have been constructing schools from scratch within their communities because the government has not done enough. In Kogi West, an NGO recently constructed schools from scratch in Ayegunle Gbede, Iyah Gbede and Ayetoro Gbede, all in Ijumu Local Government. |
Kossyne:Point out the falsehood in my post! What part of it is not authentic? Is it wrong to say that he has failed in the area of education? Don't even let me go into the area of healthcare and roads. The few roads Wada upgraded, were mostly done in his area. Kogi West which Melaye represents has the worst network of roads in the entire North-Central region of Nigeria. How else do you describe a governor that refurbishes a few roads in his district and abandons any attempt to upgrade infrastructure in other parts of his state? ![]() |
Kossyne:Please stop trying to justify the governor's ineptitude and non-performance. So because he is from Anyigba, he should abandon the secondary school in Odu and allow it to rot totally before fixing it?? ![]() Was it only the people from his hometown that voted him into power? ![]() The governor's performance in all areas is pathetic! His Commissioner of Education should be sacked for letting this secondary school degenerate to this level, while the governor himself should be impeached! Wada has done little or next to nothing, when it comes to upgrading the infrastructure within the state. The Senators from that state have even done worse!May God deliver Kogi State from clueless, backward, inept leaders! |
Chai! This car is too fine! Na wetin....?? ![]() Guy, abeg na how much e be, make I check my budget..first, whether the money go reach?? ![]() |
engineerboat:Bros, ask PMB. He alone knows why he has chosen to continue to subsidise the fuel imported to bridge the shortfall needed daily, by Nigerians. |
bashydemy:Guy, abeg educate yourself! Even if ALL the refineries are working at optimum capacity, the total amount they can produce per day is 21 million litres of petrol per day. Our daily consumption nationwide, stands at 40 million litres, per day. We would still have to import fuel to bridge the shortfall and prevent scarcity, in some regions. ![]() |
LRNZH:You failed to state the job of this official and his technical speciality. Hearsay, rumour and gossip is not always equal to truth and factual investigation, oh! The reported speech of one so-called, faceless PENGASSAN official does not confer authenticity to your report, oh. It would have been more interesting, if his assertion was supported by facts, figures, investigative analysis etc, to prove that the comments were indeed true, so that Diezani could be indicted for wrong doing, if found culpable. ![]() Why is there so much reliance on rumour instead of factual evidence, in this country?? That is why EFCC has not been able to secure a conviction in any case of fraud, till date! |
