As far as there are no proof or anyone disputing their claims that those guys are illegal immigrants, people with brain will accept such and will only talk when there are evidence suggesting otherwise.

Common sense is not common, I know.
To whom brain is given, common sense is expected. But I guess this phrase does not apply to you.

Please read the Protocol on Free Movement of Persons under the ECOWAS Treaty. Going through all the articles, terms and conditions of the treaty, it is difficult to allege 'illegal immigration,' because the purpose of the Treaty is to eliminate barriers to free movement of trade and persons, across member states! In international diplomatic practice, there is a detailed process that has to be undertaken, to repatriate persons or to prove that illegal migration has occurred. undecided

Was that followed here? No one knows. Not even you! shocked You cannot say categorically if all those people are illegal migrants, as you do not have documentary evidence about their status. So why are you insisting they are 'illegal migrants', which is why they are being deported? Were you there when the checks were being carried out in Cameroun? We do not have a foreign minister yet, maybe such a person would have shed more light on what actually transpired. undecided

All that was observed, was that people were ferried back into Nigeria in trucks! Is that the right way to treat citizens of a neighbouring country? shocked shocked shocked

Article 27 of the Treaty affirms a long-term objective to establish a community citizenship that could be acquired automatically by all nationals of Member States. This reinforced the preamble to the treaty that outlined the key objective of removing obstacles to the free movement of goods, capital and people in the sub-region. It is in that context that the Protocol on Free Movement of Persons and the Right of Residence and Establishment of May 1979 capitalised on free mobility of labour. Phase 1 of the Treaty, the Protocol on the Free Movement of Persons - the first to be ratified and put into effect – was ratified by Member States in 1980 and put into effect forthwith. It guaranteed free entry without visa for ninety days, ushering in an era of free movements of ECOWAS citizens within member countries. http://iom.ch/jahia/webdav/site/myjahiasite/shared/shared/mainsite/policy_and_research/gcim/rs/RS8.pdf

Are you saying because ECOWAS members have treaty, illegal immgration no longer exist? Please clarify.

And if you have not heard or read that they were deported illegally, the safe thing to do is to keep quiet and not to speculate.
Bros, do you have proof that all those ferried back across our borders were illegal immigrants? sad

Do you have proof that the due process for deportation was followed when they were sent back like cattle, into Nigerian borders?

If you do not have proof, please keep quiet and don't speculate!

I know many including some PMB supporters will be quick to point me to the president statement that he didn't do anything to make the refineries work. That is another sterling quality of the president but wait, I have some pertinent questions for you.

* Did NNPC/GEJ not tell us in Feb 2015 that N99bn was needed by Nigerian engineers to fix the refineries or not as contained here? http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/nigerian-engineers-to-repair-refineries-for-n99bn-nnpc/

* Did NNPC and GEJ's team not tell us in March of this year that $550 million was needed to fix the refinery or not? give us as contained here? http://thenationonlineng.net/new/nnpc-to-repair-refineries-with-550m/

* On March 6, 2015 (before the election), .... did GEJ/NNPC not tell us that refineries will not work before 2016 or not? http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/refineriesll-be-back-on-stream-2016-nnpc/

There is no report anywhere that any of the requested sums was paid by the FG to NNPC, yet the refineries have started working!

The fact remains that, had GEJ won the election, the refineries would not have worked, even in 2016. We traveled that deceitful routes with jonathan many times before.

The fact that PMB is known to be on a mission on corruption; with NNPC the number one priority, is what has made NNPC to quickly put its acts together and bring the refineries on board.
Actually, NNPC Engineers started work on the TAM about 9 months ago, under GEJ. If funds had not been released to them there is no way, the TAM would have been successful. undecided

Most of the work to resuscitate the refineries was done under GEJ. PMB was not in power 6-9 months ago, was he? huh

And because Buhari was in their country for diplomatic visit should mean the country should not do what it had to do? Do you understand a thing about deportation process? People with a quarter brain of what they need will understand that decisions bothering on deportation are not taken in a day or two.

Educate yourself beyond writing poems. cool
Be careful how you use the word 'deportation.' There are certain processes associated with deportation, and it is unclear if those processes were followed. Even if you flee to a neighbouring country as a refugee, there are basic ground rules that have to be followed for repatriation.

Cameroun and Nigeria are members of ECOWAS. And under the ECOWAS Treaty, free movement of goods and citizens across borders is a cardinal principle by member nations.

If the Nigerians transported in these trucks decide to bring a case of inhumane treatment against Cameroun for forceful deportation or harmful/ hazardous mode of transportation via trucks, by requesting for compensation, they could make a bit of money. undecided

For me, battery isn't enough ground for divorce...maybe still my primitive African mentality...

I had a chat with a Lady...I told her that men has their physical strength to intimidate ladies while ladies have their mouth to intimidate men...(In marriage, let the man hold his hand and let the lady hold her mouth)...

I still believe that there's hardly any sufficient reason for divorce...not emotional or physical trauma that folks sing around these days...Why not stay unmarried if you can't condone or tolerate excesses of anotherhuh...Whatever you see in marriage, there must be a pointer during courtship...
From your post, it appears you are either unmarried or you hardly interact with the rest of society.

Domestic violence/battery is enough grounds for a divorce. It is a major factor of the irreconcilable differences, that someone mentioned earlier. sad

How would you like to stay in a marriage where someone turns you into a punching bag, on a daily basis? If you are a woman would you do so? If you are a man, would you advise your daughter, sister or loved one to remain in such a marriage? Using your African mentality? shocked

Do you know how many women have been battered to death, in their homes within Nigeria? Such cases are often under-reported because the man or the extended family often finds an excuse to cover it up, out of shame or fear.

There was a time I acted as a volunteer for an NGO in a general hospital. I lost count of the number of women who came to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries inflicted on them by their husbands.

Just to refresh your memory, here is a story about domestic violence that went viral a few years ago. Maybe the woman would still be alive if she had gotten a divorce. There is no marriage, that is worth dying for.

How Akolade allegedly tortured banker-wife, Titilayo Arowolo – Witness

By ABDULWAHAB ABDULAH IKEJA —Folake Oyahire, immediate younger sister to the late banker, Mrs. Titilayo Arowolo, allegedly murdered by her husband, Akolade Arowolo, yesterday, told an Ikeja High Court, Lagos, that the accused had been violent to his wife even before her death.

Led in evidence by the state Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mrs. Olabisi Ogungbesan, Oyahire said on several occasions, her sister had told her of the rough time she was having in the hands of her husband, especially while at home with him in their Akindehinde Street, Isolo, Lagos, residence.

Oyahire, a law student of the Nigerian Law School, said the eventual death of her banker-sister was the cumulative events of fighting between the couple.

Folake, who said she was close to her sister, notwithstanding that she schooled in Abuja, also told the court that she knew that there had been prior incidents visited on her sister by the husband.

She said: “My sister, Titilayo, had invited me over to her family friend’s house, where she was visiting with her husband. When I got there and saw her, every part of her face was swollen and her eyes were bloodshot. She told me she got the injury when she and Akolade went out the night before.

“She told me that on their way back, Akolade had kept raining blows on her in the face despite the fact that she was carrying her baby in her arms.”

She corroborated the evidence given by Titilayo’s step-mother, Adetoun and her sister, Aidehi.

She added that on June 24, Aidehi received a call from their father, who was away in Kano State that Titilayo had sounded apprehensive and panicky and that they should visit her. She said they could not go that day because it was raining heavily, but that herself and Aidehi, started calling her Starcomms and MTN lines.

She said: “At first, someone picked the Starcomms, but did not say anything, it became silent on the other end. Eventually, her husband picked the call and when I asked about Titilayo, he told me they had some minor issues but that they had resolved it.

“I then asked to speak with my sister and the defendant told me to hold on for two minutes that he would give her the phone. But the phone went silent and I called back several times and nobody picked when it rang.”

The witness added that she had gone to the market to buy foodstuff on the next day, when she received a call from her sister, Aidehi, that she should come to the Isolo residence of the deceased, that something had happened.

According to her, she immediately took a cab to Isolo and ran straight to her sister’s apartment on the last floor of the three- storey building.

She said: “I noticed the door had been forced opened when I got to my sister’s house. I went straight to the bedroom where I saw her body on the bed. I saw a knife in her neck; there was blood on the bed and one of her eyes was dangling from its socket.

“There was also a big wound on the left side of her chest. I quickly ran out of the room because I couldn’t stand the sight any further. I felt dizzy. So, I went downstairs and stayed there till the police arrived and took the corpse away to the mortuary.”

The landlord of the Akolade’s residence at Akindehide St., Isolo, Lagos (names withheld) also testified before the court.

NB: Long before the sale of the refineries was mooted under the last administration, OBJ had already concluded sale of 2 refineries while he was President. Pls read the details here:

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday expressed regrets over the sale of two of the nation’s oil refineries, which was concluded before he exited office in 2007, but was reversed by his successor, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua because he succumbed to pressure.

Obasanjo said this in an interview on Channels Television yesterday.
The former president said business mogul, Aliko Dangote, leading a consortium of investors, had paid $750 million for two of the refineries, as the federal government considered it difficult managing the plants at the time. He explained that instead of Yar’Adua consolidating on the sale so that the investors could revamp the refineries, his successor succumbed to pressure and reversed their sale.

Now, I need to tell you, some of my info are not online intel -- I actually have friends and family who work at both the Warri and PH refineries

If you did go thru my comment with an open mind, it was in no way about PMB being the one who commissioned the TAM, rather, my comment was about the rot (which even the blind and deaf can attest to), and also about the sense of accountability in the air and fear of punishment driving all ministries, arms of government, parastatals and individuals.
Are you for real??! Google throws up hundreds of multiple entries for every phrase typed into its' search engine. Some of them are not necessarily accurate, or even directly related to the subject. So saying Google is your friend, is akin to sending someone on a wild goose chase! Advice on How to get Biafra

1: Tell all the South Eastern senators and members of the federal house of assembly to quit their leadership positions and come back to their
motherland.

2: Request for all our Igbo brothers in the Nigerian army to be dishonourably discharged so they would come and receive training from Nnamdi Kanu and prepare for the 2nd civil war.

3: Recall every indigene of the South East that is in the Northern zones, since they now call it the zoo.

4: Create a Biafran ocean and build a standard seaport that will help the shipment of goods to the South east.

5: Form a Biafran police force that will help start enforcing arrogant laws on the people of the South East like the so called director oppresses and abuses everyone online and on air.

6: Buy Fighter Jets, Tanks and automatic rifles from countries like Russia, France or the US that even refused to sell to the great country Nigeria, maybe they will consider and sell to Nnamdi Kanu.

7: Tell all the Igbo's in other part of this country to carry their house and family and come to the new country you are about to form for them.

8: Let all Igbo's leave the Nigerian currency he or she has in Nigerian banks, and come back to Biafra and work for the Biafran pound, remove the Nigerian plate numbers in your cars, tell MTN, Airtel, Etisalat Nigeria to change their suffix names here in the south to MTN Biafra etc, Also tell all the websites in the world to include the new country Biafra to the list of countries that is been chooosed when creating an account.

9: Every Nigerian school like the University of Nigeria at Nsukka, UNTH and every other Nigerian office in the south east must be uprooted and carried back to Abuja, lol.

10: When all this and much more have been done, come down to the south east, Mount a flag of Biafra anywhere that an army officer will see you doing so, this will help start a fight with the Northern military personnel here in the south east. Do it & watch out # God_bless_Nigeria jare
