When women too begin to talk of unlocking men, then you will know the difference. Anyone who is looking for a way to unlock another person, is just proving to the world that he or she lacks God-given virtues or desirable attributes, that could attract and keep a person's attention. That is why he needs to resort to dicey schemes like 'unlocking.' |

OvaSabi1: I don't totally disagree with this. If you want people to remain celebate till marriage, it's only fair that you can grant assurance to the intending couples that everything is alright in za oza room. Some men know that they are impotent but will hide it. Some women have done risky things to jeopardise their fertility and they will hide it. My reservations about this is if they use this as virginity checker of some sorts. They can only use this for women. How will you know for men? How about she goes for surgery to reconstruct "IT"? But I doubt that is the case here. Testing a woman's fertility? What if the test result says she is fine, and they get married but still can't have babies? What about a man's fertility test? Will it be conducted, too? |

My contention is with Itel. No human being created by God should go a mile near that phone. Itel devices reek of failure and mediocrity in its worst term. Infinix is a good device? Since when? The money I wasted buying the last Infinix Note, is still annoying me. Infinix phones often develop battery problems and charging port issues, within the first few months of usage. Go and check.... |

Unlocking a girl...emotionally? For just what, exactly? What happened to lavishing love & respect on her, and letting her love you in return? And why on earth should a man ever need a way to control and keep woman loyal? Is the woman a piece of machinery, or a unit of equipment? Isn't she a human being? All that talk of emotionally unlocking a woman, sounds like manipulation of the highest order. Shouldn't a woman too look for ways to emotionally unlock a man? The questions should be: As a man, what do you truly want in a woman? And to get that kind of woman you truly desire, what are you bringing to the table as a man and vice versa? Same goes for women too. As a woman what do you truly want in a man, and what are you bringing to the table of the man you desire?

So now I'm asking you, have you married every single person you have ever been in a relationship with? I saw you describing how you embark on a game to 'bust a woman's emotional cherry,' in order to get her hooked to you. Keep living in utopia. You are in 2018 Nigeria and your hard work, intelligence, skill, ability and a good education doesn't count. Your bank balance counts. Sorry to disappoint you - but they truly exist in Nigeria. The problem is that men like you have been wired to think in a certain way, so you often look out for girls that tick certain boxes in your mind, instead of taking out time to look beyond the surface and search for women with inner substance. Continue projecting yourself as a man with a hefty bank balance in an attempt to impress a girl, or attract her attention, and you will find that you keep attracting gold diggers, and riff-raffs. |

2buffagain: Likewise Sir.
"but they are rare"
Hence why I used the term "Filter". Also, when you expand one's scope beyond just the women confined to geographical Nigeria, they are not as rare as you might think and they come in different skin tones too...intercontinental naija included.
As to the issues of "power, control, influence and attention", I agree that a man must certainly establish himself (I hate idle men), but at the same time I only really date women who are also well-of. Because it makes the relationship more fun and also because anything can happen in this world. Have you ever had a woman get on her knees and BEG you to let her be there for you before? That is a woman you have unlocked.
if you have emotionally unlocked "things" in her already then she is already hooked. You do so by being that guy who has led her down paths no one has taken her before. Bust her emotional cherry in different ways. Be the first guy to take her skydiving. The first guy to take her to the gun range where she shoots her first gun. The first guy she trusts to fifty-shades her body and mind (Most women secretly want this). You get my point.
I can bet you half of these high-class/well-to-do babes haven't been led down some real memorable paths yet because most Naija guys themselves are not that adventurous when it comes to these things.
Bro, it is easier than you think to hook a babe. At that point, as long as it is concerns you, all she is and has she will WANT to make available to you. And all you have to do is keep her high on love. Is this the reason why you date such women? To emotionally unlock "things" in her? To bust her emotional cherry in different ways? Chai! It sounds like you are just taking the girl on a wild goose chase, and having fun at her expense. Believe me, when it all comes crashing down as it eventually does, such women might end up going ballistic on you, when they realise that the whole relationship was nothing more than a game to you. Or a trip to hype your women-chasing skills. A lot of women are far more intuitive than men. At the end of the day, no matter how rich or loaded such women are, they still want relationships based on truth, honesty, respect, understanding, accountability etc. All the 'first time' stuff, shooting range exercises, skydiving activities are just hype, when compared to the substance of what makes a relationship truly great, or what makes it last. Such things will not mean much, when a woman realises that your words are largely meaningless, and a relationship with a man like you, is just a means to score a 'hit,' with her. |

oglalasioux: Dear OP,
Thanks for your post. I understand how you feel. Every right thinking man thinks same way too. But the sad truth is; we are in Nigeria and your sentiments don't work here. More often than not, women here see men as their meal ticket. Love is dead here. Any woman that accepts a man for who he is has a sugar daddy somewhere providing those things she is not asking from you.
I hear you say there are established women out there. Good. How did they get established? Behind every successful woman there's a sugar daddy. And for the ones from rich homes; they will marry only men from rich homes. Sorry. It is obvious that you have been hanging out with the wrong kind of women, and that is why you have developed this skewed mindset. There are single, professional working women in good careers, performing well in different industries from telecoms, to banking, to manufacturing as well as oil & gas. Some are even in the academia. A number of them have even reached middle management level and above, in multinational organisations. They earn their wages, pay their bills and are content with what they have. If the man in their life offers a little bit of funds - then fine. If he doesn't, they are not bothered. Look for those ones and hang out with them. Maybe they would be able to reboot your thinking. Not every successful woman depends on a sugar daddy, or sees a man as a meal ticket. So stop attributing too many virtues, resources or support to men. A lot of those men are even still struggling, and yet to find their feet. So what makes you think that a man's funding, contribution or donations, are the only things that can help a woman to rise, or become successful? What makes you think every woman depends on one man's finances somewhere, to make a headway in her life? Doesn't hard work, intelligence, skill, ability and a good education count for something, anymore? |

Boland: 1) Feminism: The fight for equal right of living for females.
My view: Females enjoy what the males don't and as such it's fair for male to enjoy what females don't. Now: If the females want to enjoy what the males are enjoying while still holding on to their own priviledge, there is sure to be a problem. That's just the summary (in layman's words)of my own opinion.
2) If the man is experiencing a financial downturn, the wife being the present breadwinner should help out, we've been told marriage is "for better for worse", but I'm sure you and I know that the relationship will most likely be out of balance because they are both occupying the wrong position.
This is what I'm saying: Men shouldn't nag about a woman's demand if she's not yet your woman, if you think her standard is higher than your own pocket, let it go. It will only be unfair if you've gotten her and later because of a bad situation she decides to leave, that'll be disloyalty on her part.
3) That depends on the husband, you know what you're going for, you should be prepared to deal with the cons of it. Besides, a woman with such profession can still be a good " wife".
See: There is a definition for a Husband as there is for a Wife. I often ask my female folks this question;
Do you wanna be a Wife, just a Woman or a Man for your husband?
For a ship to sail, there must be a captain. If leaders aren't necessary, men in uniform wouldn't need commanders. I'm sure you knwo what I'm trying to say here. Equality is bullshit in marriage. I can't remember the last time I read something so interesting on Nairaland. Well said, bro.' |

londoner: Yes and the result of that planning and foresight is the relative ease of navigation of Abuja, the planned parks and recreation which were part of that planning. It has resulted in a city that is much less stressful as a result. That is exactly what myself, others and the author of the article have been saying.
It's the truth.
Comparing Lagos to Abuja is fine actually and this thread is 14 pages worth of people trying to claim Lagos is better, so you may want to advise them to 'stop comparing apples with cocoyam'. No, that is not what you, others and the author of this article have been saying. What you lot have been doing, is to engage in a dick-measuring contest over Lagos and Abuja, by trying to condemn Lagos and all it stands for, using derogatory descriptions and epithets. Every single person knows that Abuja was planned right from scratch, even before a single brick was laid on the other, while building the city centre. During the construction of major parts of the city, a number of people paid the price of living in cramped, inconvenient, poorly erected quarters with sub-standard infrastructure, before the whole city actually became habitable. With several roads under construction, and access to major areas a difficult task, Abuja was often quite difficult to navigate. Every Friday, several public officials fled the town to more habitable places in other states, only to return on Sundays or Monday mornings, to resume duty. At that time, Abuja was described in very uncomplimentary ways, and many civil servants posted there in the beginning, had tales of woe to tell. Now that things have stabilised, a lot of ill-informed folk have come out to gloat, and have even embarked on the fruitless exercise of comparing Abuja to Lagos, in a fit of relentless spite and silliness. That this thread has spanned 14 pages, is also due to clowns who are trying their best to show that Abuja is 'superior' to, or 'better' than Lagos, out of some misguided show of one upmanship, in a bid to denigrate a commercial city like Lagos, that has served its citizens, residents and country well, in more ways than one. Choices that people make, depend on their preferences. So yes, my advice to you and your ilk still stands: "stop comparing Abuja to Lagos. It is like comparing apples with cocoyam." A wise man would follow that advice. But then, how many folks can recognise wisdom? |

grandstar: Though your report about the death of the textile industry is deep, it is not deep enough.
What brought about the death of the Nigerian textile industry can be summed up in one word: China.
Nigeria's textile industry was still relevant in the 1990's but China ultra competitive textile industry with imports from other countries completely annihilated the textile manufacturers.
What is strange however is that Benin Republic despite have low tariffs on textile fabrics still had their textile factories humming. So, imports were not only the reasons for the collapse here.
First and foremost, Nigeria is a high cost place to produce goods due to the dearth of good infrastructure especially power. This has hiked cost.
The biggest problem though is the high cost of credit which has dealt a huge blow on the real sectors of the economy holding them back.
Also again, Nigeria was not exporting textiles massively. This is bizarre. Third world countries start to manufactured exports are textiles which they export in large quantities. If Nigeria was exporting , it would have been a cushion against cheap imports.
Question is: How battered is the Nigeria textile sector.
Though textile fabrics was hurt, Nigeria has thousands of small scale tailors dependent on fabrics .m I am sure they alone engage over a million people. The Economist calls that the kind of the unflashy industrialization that actually creates jobs. If you read my post properly, you would see the excerpt I quoted which attributed the demise of the Nigerian textile industry to cheap imports from China and India. I also posted another report from an online medium which further amplified that fact. Nigeria was not exporting textiles massively, because there was already a huge domestic market that was consuming most of what was being produced by those textile factories. They could hardly meet local demand at that time, so what was the need for export way back then? Not only that, a lot of informal, undocumented trade went on among West African countries, which saw large volumes of textiles being sold across borders. Finally, your assertion that "Nigeria has thousands of small scale tailors dependent on fabrics....they alone engage over a million people," is not grounded or backed by any known study. Even when the textile mills were operational, most of these tailors were already on ground practising their craft. So it is not as if tailoring suddenly came up, to replace the textile workers, neither was tailoring a non-existent craft/trade, when the textile mills were still in full operation. The large numbers of workers employed by the textile mills who later lost their jobs, ran into thousands. Even the ancillary small-scale enterprises that made & sold dyes, threads, yarn as well as other little raw materials used in the textile industry also crashed along with them. There is no survey to show that those who lost their jobs in the textile mills were later re-trained as tailors, which could have led to replacement jobs, or an increase in jobs within a different sector. So kindly stop drawing such parallels. It is like comparing apples with cocoyams.... |

londoner: Even if you live outside the city gates in Abuja it's not that long to get into town. For most of it you are driving on a highway that has many lanes once get past the city gates there are overpasses to specific areas too, so not everyone is using the same route.. Even if you are going from Sabon Lugbe ( outside the city gate) to CBD ( heart of the city) it's not that much of a long journey. The road network ensures free movement of traffic for most of the journey. Planning and foresight of Abuja has resulted in that being possible, although some areas still need work and some expressways that have been started still need completing. You don't always have to live and work in a close area in Abuja, that's my point.
Let's not deny that in Lagos people are delayed because they are stuck in traffic. Lagos is notorious for its traffic jams. I don't think that's news to anyone. Your post makes it so clear that you have not had to commute to Abuja city centre on a daily basis, while living permanently on the outskirts of Abuja or in the satellite towns of the FCT. Saying it is not much of a long journey is a very vague statement. Is it the distance in kilometers or the journey time in minutes/hours? Yes, Abuja has been planned! We all said that from the very beginning of this thread - in fact, more than 5 people mentioned it - which is why it is totally wrong to keep comparing it to Lagos which was not planned, except for very few areas in the state! I repeat: comparing Abuja to Lagos, is like comparing apples to cocoyams. |

LieutenantBOBO: My dear, please answer this question. Do you think that most youths will become an internet fraudster if they had a good job with good pay? If the government generated jobs for the youths, do you think the rate of internet fraudsters would still be on the rise? Or do you think someone would just wake up one morning & say i would like to be an armed robber or internet fraudster when i grow up? Just because you're privileged to have a job & eat a 3 square meal doesn't mean there are not people out there struggling to survive. And when I said I would shoot all politicians & leave the yahoo boys, that's because, it is these politicians that are the root of the problem. The money that they are supposed to inject into the economy & create new jobs, they move it to another country.
Yes, God gave everyone an equal brain. But when you talk, talk from the facts around you. Linda started blogging back in 2002 when it was not popular. That time, most youths were still in school. And now she has written her name in the world of blogging, do you think there's any one that can compete with her, bella naija & others who started back in those years? Bloggers earn their money through adverts. Now do you think someone would leave Linda who has thousands of traffic daily to go and advertise on another blog with few traffic & who does copy & paste from Linda?
You mentioned only foreign names why's that? Facebook, Amazon & Google. But no Nigerian business. Well, let me explain it for you. Developers keep creating more platforms because there are A LOT of companies in the US that invest in these new startups. They sponsor the developers & in return, they get a share in the company. Now, can you tell me a company in Nigeria that you can pitch your idea to & they would sponsor you? Some of them would even steal your ideas & invest in it themselves.
All these that you said about yahoo boys, do you think it doesn't also apply to politicians? When they loot the money meant for civil servants, do you think those workers don't also get frustrated with life & commit suicide? If most government teachers were getting their pay on time, do you think that they would be taking bribes from students? I know a friend, till today, the government is owing his mum salary of 15 years. 15 long years! Now, isn't that wickedness?
You should know that Nigeria lost 2 data center construction projects to South Africa. Microsoft & Facebook snubbed Nigeria for South Africa because of the condition of our power sector. Now, do you know that just a single data center is capable of generating 1 million jobs? But because of our greedy politicians who embezzle the money meant for the power sector, 2 million Nigerians who would have been employed to work in that data centers are now roaming the streets.
Like i said, I'm not in support of yahoo boys. I am only pointing out the fact that there is an evil out there besides these yahoo boys. And if you can go after the yahoo boys, why can't you go after these politicians. Or are they above the law? If there are no jobs, smart honest people try and create one instead of defrauding others. No matter how small it is. There is nobody God has not blessed with one talent that can be used to earn an income. Only lazy, unproductive criminal minds turn to yahoo-yahoo as a solution. Greed is what drives internet fraudsters and armed robbers, not poverty. They see people flashing the ill-gotten wealth or proceeds of criminal endeavours, and they think that is the best route to make it. So instead of using their brains to create legit wealth, they turn to "get-rich-quick" schemes. And they use poverty as an excuse, to cover up their evil actions. Or they try and divert the issue to politicians, in order to hide the criminality of their own schemes. I mentioned Facebook, Amazon etc., because these companies are well-known all over the world. But in Nigeria, there are local firms doing well too, within the IT space from Paystack, to Flutterwave to eTranzact. Do a little research, you will see more. Linda started blogging in 2002, and so bloody what? Did she make money overnight? No! Blogging is one diverse area where people can be creative, inventive and carve out a niche. Or are you saying that apart from Linda, no other blogger in Nigeria, can ever make money in this field? The sad thing is that instead of doing adequate research and finding a way to create a unique niche by mastering the craft, every aspiring blogger wants to copy Linda and they end up failing. They post fake news, thinking they will get ahead. Instead people see through their gimmicks, and it gives them a bad name. A bad name or poor reputation can never give rise to a good brand, that anyone would like to be associated with. Politicians and their loot are not the issue here. So stop trying to divert the attention from yahoo boys to politicians, or was it the politicians that told the yahoo boys to become fraudsters? Let everybody answer for his crimes, please. The politicians are slowly being brought to book. Where is Diezani today? Hiding out in London, battling sickness while most of her assets down here have been seized. There are other politicians like her, who cannot enjoy their loot and have forfeited them. How much was seized from GEJ's wife recently? Just as the politicians one by one, are being stripped of their loot, so will yahoo boys be destroyed by the evil scams they have perpetrated. Both God and man will bring them to judgement. And by the time karma comes knocking on their door, they will pay for it with their health and their lives, by God's grace! Every single day, new innovative products are being discovered around the world, from the mundane to the complex ones. It has been said that 'the world has countless problems, unless you're an entrepreneur, in which case the world has countless opportunities.' Those who provide genuine, legitimate, honest solutions to problems without defrauding others, are the ones who are truly rich, because solutions will always breed success, while success in turn breeds wealth. As for data centre projects going to South Africa, it probably happened due to poor power infrastructure in Nigeria. A Tier 4 data centre has different requirements from a Tier 3 data centre, for example. We already have three Tier 3 Data Centres in Nigeria, which are currently being run at a huge cost by honest Nigerians who decided to find a legit way to solve a problem, and earn good money without defrauding others. You can take a leaf from them, instead of applauding or supporting those in the sleazy yahoo trade. |

ibsadiq: I know of a data centre in Nigeria Rack Centre in lagos. There are actually 3 data centres in Nigeria. MDX-I Lekki Data Center is a Tier 3 certified facility owned by MainOne. Medallion Data Centre in Lagos is also a colocation data center, which is carrier neutral, while the 3rd data centre is Rack Centre in Ikeja. |

LieutenantBOBO: Husspuppi is right!
The Deji of a human being no see other politicians and police officers in Nigeria to investigate. It's someone who hasn't stepped foot in Nigeria for how many years.
Nigeria is a joke! Politicians are more dangerous than yahoo boys. If the fool that calls himself Deji can go after these politicians who are looting the countries money, won't the level of internet fraudsters in Nigeria reduce by 50% or more?
Some boys are going into yahoo just because they have exhausted all their options. In a country where everything is monopoly & based on connection. Some people will say that there are a thousand and one things to do with that laptop. But the truth is, those thousand and one things are being monopolized by some particular individuals.
Is it blogging? Who can compete with Linda Ikeji & Bella Naija? Is it website development? There are well established firms who have rooted their names in the world of web development. Please who can tell me another job that can be done with a computer that hasn't been handcuffed by a particular individual?
Fools everywhere! That's why other countries will be heading forward & for Nigeria, reverse is the case.
Let Deji first clean his house before going to clean another person's house. Your country is littered with corrupt politicians & you are going to investigate someone in another country who hasn't gotten a quarter of what these politicians loot in a day!
Worst part, the Malaysian government is not even complaining about Hush puppy. They are busy boosting their economy. Na hin 1 human being from nowhere come dey drink panadol ontop anoda person head ache. SMH...
Imagine in the whole of Nigeria, not a single Tier 1 DATA CENTER before thinking of Tier 3! Because before you can say that there is a data center in Nigeria, that data center has to have a 99.99% uptime. Which is not possible in Nigeria giving the type of power sector we have. And any data center with it's primary source of electricity as generator, will be losing most of it's profit to petrol. In this 21st/22nd century where the IT industry is booming, Nigeria does not have a Tier 1 data center.
South Africa & Malaysia are raking in contracts from Facebook, Google & other IT companies. Nigeria is here raking in what? Nigeria lost 3 data center construction projects to South Africa. 3 DIFFERENT DATA CENTERS! Do you know how it would have boosted the economy of Nigeria? Do you know that it would have created jobs for more than 3 million Nigerian youths? But because of our greedy politicians who can't improve the power sector, those 3 million youths now are in the streets.
What most people won't understand is, having INTERNET FRAUDSTERS in a country is inevitable. As long as there is internet in that country, there must me internet fraudsters. There is NO country on earth that doesn't have internet fraudsters. Even in the US, they have the most sophisticated fraudsters there.
The problem with Nigeria is that, those in power are too too greedy. If they could invest the country's money on her citizens instead of moving it to some offshore account somewhere, the youth's will have more opportunities to earn a living. Hence reducing the number of fraudsters.
They say yahoo boys scam people of their hard earned money. But also do politicians. When they take the money meant for the people & put it in another country.
I'm not in support of yahoo boys, but if i had the power to eridcate either all the yahoo boys or all the politicians, I'll eridcate all the politicians ASAP & leave the yahoo boys. Because those politicians are the root of all the problems. Stop lying. You are in support of yahoo boys, otherwise you would not have defended their antics in your post by saying "Some boys are going into yahoo just because they have exhausted all their options. In a country where everything is monopoly & based on connection.....I'll eridcate all the politicians ASAP & leave the yahoo boys...." Why do you people keep waving such pathetic excuses around? A supporter of a criminal, is just as bad as that criminal. The same God that gave Linda Ikeji a brain to earn an honest living from blogging, has also given you and every other person, an adequate brain that can also be used to earn an honest living, through straightforward means. Despite the fact that Facebook, Amazon, Google and other platforms are active today, several developers keep creating more platforms, that end up being bought over by the likes of Facebook, at the end of the day. Yahoo boys are just as deadly than armed robbers. The only difference lies in the tools of their trade. You think armed robbers who carry guns and knives to kill and rob victims are the only evil ones? Then it means you have not seen the people who fall victim to the yahoo boys - the victims whose lives are cut short by instalments, or the ones who lose life, limbs, honour, family, relationships, businesses, reputation and resources to the fraud perpetrated by such scammers. Do you know how many people they have scammed who died an untimely death, as a result of the scams perpetrated on their transactions, their bank accounts and other sources of livelihood? Do you know how many people became homeless, as a result of the money they lost to fraudsters? Do you know how many suffered stroke or ran mad, due to the activities of 419, yahoo boys and fraudsters who deprived them of their life's savings? Do you know how many children dropped out of school, how many kids died in hospital, and how many marriages were broken because fathers and mothers lost their hard earned money to scammers and yahoo boys? Do you know how many legitimate businesses have folded up, or how many workers were sacked, as their owners were thrown into penury, because of yahoo boys? I repeat: May God release divine vengeance and judgement on all yahoo boys, from now till eternity. May all yahoo boys, fraudsters and scammers perish, without delay! And the people said - Amen.

humilitypays: ...but in as much, they need to be reminded often of their mischievousness towards the Igbo race since 1966. I have lived with them for years, I have done things with them, but I can boldly tell you, aside when they want an Igbo girl to marry or date, they hate Igbos with passion, so part of our duty is to keep the Igbos all over the world awake of their inhumane treatments to Igbos until we get freedom
