Imagine! What an excuse. A very funny one. They should borrow money to pay the toll too since they could borrow to live a good life.

As far as being responsible in Nigeria is concerned , NO ONE IS EVER FINANCIALLY Buoyant. They'd be heavily taxed on all those their luxuries in some climes. Who send dem to borrow money buy am.
That's the mindset killing us in Nigeria. We want almost free everything. Government should be responsible for everything.

Let me make my point clear again. I'm not here to throw banter with you. I agree our elected Leaders are very useless and sometimes might put up policies solely to enrich themselves and their cronies. Meanwhile, if the increment in toll is to avoid indebtedness or raise more revenue for the development I am totally in support of it provided it'd be used for its intended purposes. Meanwhile, how would know that for sure if we don't give them the benefit of doubt.
For things to work, we have to tighten up our trousers and be ready to pay the price. Is it going to be easy, definitely not.
However, we all going to enjoy it at the long run.
It is not an excuse. It is the reality. sad Nobody wants free anything - people only want value for whatever money they are putting down. For example, do not bill me for using a road that is meant to cut my journey or travel time in half, and then still expect me to sit in traffic and spend an even longer time, on such a road! Instead of resolving that problem, you then decide to increase the toll fees! shocked After just 5 days notice...

The increment in tolls is NOT to build additional infrastructure, or raise revenue for development. It is to enable the govt's cronies LCC, meet the debt obligation, they claim to have incurred on that road. And everyone is saying that govt spent billions to buy back the concession from LCCI, so which debt are they still talking of servicing, which has led them to increase prices? huh Nigerians have been tightening their belts for years, but this insensitive state govt is bent on making their bodies snap into bits, due to hardship they keep inflicting on a daily basis....

Please stop being insensitive, abeg, just stop it!!

So everyone in Lekki is rich abihuh Everyone in Ajah is richhuh

Why do we hate ourselves in Nigeria like thishuh We hate each other so much, whether it's yoruba vs igbo or in this your case, mainland vs island.

How are our voices to be heard, if half are out of synchuh
Leave the stupid clown to be yarning rubbish! angry Ask him if conducted a headcount of the number and brands of affluent vehicles, he saw on that alternative road. Out of every 30 vehicles on the road, how many were affluent ones?

Even each of the toll-gates themselves, were heavily blocked by traffic, so what da heck is he talking about?? shocked

I think it was poorly handled by LCC

There should have been more than adequate publicity about such a hike. Anyway, the lockdown as finally created that publicity Nigerian style grin

I support the increase. In real terms, the amount they were charging had gone down due to the loss of almost 50% of the Naira's value. An increase was just reasonable.

Nigerians should start learning to pay the full cost of utilities and services either through direct charges or indirectly through indirect taxation such as petrol tax etc

Unless people are ready to pay, they should not whine about poor infrastructure
Have salaries of those who ply the road, gone up?? Tell us, o! shocked There is nothing bad, if you offer to pay the toll fare for the next 100 cars that decide to go through those toll gates everyday ....since you support the increase!

Just imagine this rubbish, for a road that was already in existencehuh

All they did was add extra lanes and now we have to pay toll seemingly forever.

This is soo sad, all kinds of people live on the lekki/ajah axis, rich, poor, middleclass.

What I don't get is why Nigerians that are not affected by a certain situation display such nonchalant attitudes. People are already saying people can pay, like, why would you be so insensitive to your fellow humans, your fellow Nigerians, heck, your fellow Lagosians. Is it cause they claim to be living in "lekki", that you hate themhuh

N200 both ways is N400 a day. If you forget something or go for lunch break, meeting, hustle, then you double that N400 to N800, just to pass a roadhuh

I have no problem with tolling the Lekki-Ikoyi Link bridge, cause that bridge never existed before and solves a particular problem, but how can you toll a road that had already been built, with people already using said road to get to their various homeshuh

Is Nigeria really a countryhuh

Some annoying people will now come and say, "but there is toll in the U.S.A", but do they even know how toll works in the U.Shuh Just annoying little bratty rif raffs, mtcheew. In the U.S, you can decide to use the toll or not, but I guarantee you that your alternative route will not be a single lane road passing through a private estate and market, mtcheew undecided
Oga, may God increase the wisdom He has placed in your life! wink Even the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge was paid up with tax payers money! shocked That was why that city lawyer, Ebun Adegboruwa took them to court, and insisted that the toll should be dropped since the bridge was already fully paid for! It was not concessioned, during construction!

Read my post well. That's why I said it's rather unfortunate if a low income earner is caught in the web.

Bro, please let's be sincere with ourselves. For things to really work the way it's supposed to be, prices must be paid. Sacrifices must be made. We complain too much in Nigeria. I am in a place where I pay toll as well meanwhile there's no any alternatives to that. I just have to pay it. That's the way they generate revenue to put things in places for us to enjoy. Unfortunately, same thing can't be said about Nigeria as the fund generated might become diverted along the line. I fully support toll and increment if only its intended for the comfort and betterment of the populace. That's how things work in other places. They increased the toll of a particular place I used to visit just of recent. No one protested and you pay regardless of your financial class.

The thing is, the affluent ones on the island are the main cause of the traffic gridlock on that alternative route. They also avoided the toll thereby increasing the number of vehicles plying the alternative route and increasing the burden. Meanwhile, these same people travel out of the country and pay for EVERYTHING WITH TAX, even smile while doing it. They pay toll on roads and never frown. They get back to Nigeria and complain about everything when they do nothing to contribute to her growth. I'm sort of happy that these rich people are being invariably taxed heavily in lagos via several avenues. Unfortunately, when you prune a tree branch, some other things suffer with it.

I understand your plight. It is well.
Oga, you obviously do not understand the plight of those living and working in Lekki. sad Is the alternative road restricted only to the poor? Or are you going to dip your hands into the pockets of those you perceive to be rich, and force them to go through the toll gates?

You did not even mention the fact, that part of what caused the gridlock on the alternative route, is the poor state of that road - too many craters, bumps and uneven surfaces. Coupled with the fact that the road, is simply too narrow and it is just one single route that serves people from several other communities, who have to go through that area, to reach other parts of Victoria Island or Lekki peninsula! shocked

If some people in Lekki Phase 1 can even afford to pay the toll fare, what about those coming from Igbo-Efon, Sangotedo, Ajah, Badore, Awoyaya, Lakowe, Ogombo, Eputu, Oribanwa, Langbasa, Shapati, Bogije, Eleko etc., and all those smaller towns dotted across the Lekki Peninsula? Will you make the payment on their behalf, at the toll gate? angry

As for those you call the "the affluent ones on the island are the main cause of the traffic gridlock on that alternative route. They also avoided the toll thereby increasing the number of vehicles plying the alternative route and increasing the burden. Meanwhile, these same people travel out of the country and pay for EVERYTHING WITH TAX, even smile while doing it. They pay toll on roads and never frown..." you seem to enjoy generalising about everything, and everyone in this class. sad In some countries, they are allowed to collect the taxes they have paid in those places back, when they present their VAT rebate form at the airport, to show they are non-residents.

Now what is the proportion of those you call the "affluent ones, that travel abroad and pay for everything including tolls on roads abroad," compared to those who actually ply the routes, where these toll-gates are located in Lekki? Are they up to 30%, 40% or 5%? Did you conduct a survey or a census, to arrive at the total estimates of these affluent people? Assumption is the mother of fvck ups. Please stop jumping to conclusions. The poor, the rich and those in-between, live in various districts in Lekki peninsula.

Most of the owners of those fancy affluent cars you see, may be heavily indebted in one way or the other, to various financial institutions. Almost everyone is on some sort of tight budget or the other. Very few folks have extra cash to throw around. There are too many things going on, that you do not see. Other affluent-looking vehicles, may even be official cars of various companies. undecided

Are you aware that many of those you see as "affluent" who travel abroad, probably use cabs, hire cars, hail Uber or even use public transport while they are abroad, as it would be expensive to own and keep cars parked in specific places, over a long period, in order to use them, whenever they arrive in those foreign cities? Parking costs money abroad, in many cities. Please cross check.

Kindly keep your bad-belle about those you perceive to be affluent, inside your back pocket, because no one is interested. sad If you cannot offer sound advice, to reduce the burden that Lagosians are going through, then please keep quiet. Most people are just trying to earn a honest living, without govt inflicting hardship on their daily routine!

Lmfao, See broad daylight self deception. Lagos is over populated and this didn't start today, it has been on for decades. Lagos is the smallest state in nigeria n Lagos does not even have enough land to engage in agriculture n feed all the residents. Once Nigeria reactivates warri, calabar n Onne seaport n also reactivate Onitsha river port n builds a river ports in Kogi n Benue states, Lagos population will drop n the sanity will return to the state.
You are the one deceiving your ungodly self. sad What do the Apapa or Tincan ports in Lagos, have to do with the toll-gates in Lekki? shocked What exactly do the ports, have to do with govt increasing toll-gate fees in Lekki? Do you even know where Lekki is located in Lagos?? Must you show everyone how many clueless comments you can dish out?

Your sister Kemafor Chikwe was Minister of Transport under OBJ, she did nothing about Onitsha Port. sad Your brother the late Ojo Maduekwe was also a former Minister of Transport, what did he do about Onitsha port? Now, your fellow man Rotimi Amaechi is the current Minister of Transport. And the ports fall squarely under his brief, what has he done about Onitsha port? huh

For your information, Onne port is working very well, but importers from your region would rather consign all their shipments to Lagos ports. Did anyone hold a gun to their heads, to do so?? Abeg, swerve go one side, if you no sabi wetin dey happen! undecided

I didn't see the big deal there,an average NigerIan car owner can afford all that.
Stop that! angry If you own a car and you pay 300 naira x 2, in order to pass through the Lekki-Ikoyi toll gate every day, won't it add up to something substantial, at the end of the year? And there are 2 toll gates on either side of Lekki Phase 1. The 1st one is right on the road that leads to Victoria Island, and the 2nd one is on the bridge that leads to Ikoyi. Either way you must pass one or both at least twice a day, if you live or work inside Lekki.

Why didn't they put those same toll gates at Apapa, Ikeja, Ilupeju, Gbagada, Surulere, Yaba, Ebute Metta, Magodo, Eko Atlantic, Epe or even inside Old Ikoyi itself? Dem talk say na only Lekki people dem fit exploit? huh

The other part that is truly annoying, is the hopeless traffic jam that has bedevilled both toll gates. To ascend or descend the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge, you cannot help but spend 30 - 45 minutes in traffic every single day, before you get to the toll-gate. The same thing goes for the V/I end. It is a classic case of suffering and smiling. Were these toll-gates created to make life difficult for people in that area? Na wetin? shocked

I think many of you are just ranting. Paddy Adenuga has got serious guts. Like the guy you quoted said. Bidding in developed countries no be beans. Did you notice the number of meetings that dude was going all across Europe.

We have many rich kids galavanting and wasting resources. But that guy showed the fibre he was made of.

In fact he will go places with time. The level of expertise, composure, that guy showed on that write is world class standard. It was never Nigerian standard, but global standard. And until most of our big business men begin to play on global standards, our economy will always be in the backwaters.

And more thing, poor folks can never attain to even half of what that guy said there. The levels is too much for your understanding. Levels is top notch. I was truly inspired by that article and my respect for him quadrupled.

My friend you can say all you want to say, but my kind of person believes playing in the big leagues of this our world. Most of them are just slaving it out working for the white man.
Most of them can't even afford the kind of lifestyle he was talking about here. They no born them well.

Hard working and who told you he is not hard working. Abeg shift one side.

The guy did well. He had guys and note it down, that dude will birth something extraordinary in no distant time. You think say to bid for a multinational companies unit manager beans. Let me repeat it again. The levels Wey that guy dey operate in no be anyhow level, no be money miss road level, no be backward bush level. The level is very much way beyond most of these noise makers.

Raise which money ?

Did you read my first post?

Didn't you see where I mentioned Edger ?

His inability to pay Edger at initial bargain was one of the things that caused the failure.

Which 50million are you talking about you?

50 million dollars was for the opening bid...of which he later bidded 100million , and he clearly stated that he didn't know where the extra money would come from...am sure you didn't read that part ,you more interested in ego trip?

Did you know how many times he mentioned that particular age ?...about four different times sad what is so special about been 29?

I was confused by his behaviour. I told him who the others were that were on Catalan’s advisory board but he wasn’t having it, either he would be paid his princely sum to attach his name to Catalan or no deal. I was 29 at the time and was still head-strong and prideful

Here I was, in my late twenties, in a massive boardroom, with a management team of fifteen people presenting to me. I felt like I had arrived.

This bid was destined for me to win. I was meant to be the Alexander the Great of Africa oil & gas and barely into my thirties.

was going to ride back into Africa on my Trojan Horse and become King
""

and you can't see the pride and ego massaging in all this piece? sad ... even after the man admitted that he was "proud" but you busy saying otherwise, how gullible?
You are the one that saw 'pride' and 'ego massaging', maybe because of the prejudice in your mindset. sad In Paddy, I saw awe, enthusiasm, determination, optimism and audacity. I also saw some immaturity and dreamy expectations. He did not hold back his feelings. He even described himself in a few negative terms, using words like "head-strong and prideful." Go back and read the story again. He did not pay Edgar the first time, because he felt that based on their friendship, the amount Edgar was asking for initially was too high. That was why he declined, not because he didn't have money to cover Edgar's fees, or because he lacked the funds to pay him. Another thing was that Edgar wanted money upfront, and not at a later date.

Secondly, even though he bemoaned the fact that he didn't have the initial 50 million pounds, he immediately went out to do something about it. He went off to see his mentor. In a few paragraphs after that, between him, his mentor and a few investors, they raised the 50 million USD cash.
Despondent, I called my mentor for a way forward. We spoke extensively and as I expected, he was the only one that saw how important Chevron Netherlands would be as a technical partner-operator in Africa. We agreed that between myself as a small cash contributor, himself, and a few other investors we could raise cash of USD 50 million as a maximum bid price.
https://theafricaarchive.com/2018/01/29/a-lion-in-the-north-sea-the-battle-for-chevron-netherlands/
I quoted that section of his article for you, so that you could read it. In fact this was how they raised the money:
I also told Richard how much we would be ready to spend for the first acquisition – between USD 50 million and USD 100 million. We would finance our acquisition via reserve based lending and would likely raise cash equity of thirty percent of our purchase price with a Bank raising debt of seventy percent to help the balance of the purchase price. I had described the “goldilocks” company Catalan needed to acquire. With that said, Richard told me to give him some time to find the best deal for Catalan.
https://theafricaarchive.com/2018/01/29/a-lion-in-the-north-sea-the-battle-for-chevron-netherlands/
If he could raise 50 million USD this way, what makes you think he wouldn't have been able to raise the 100 million USD in the same manner? At the end of the day, wasn't Chevron Netherlands sold for 50 million USD??

Are you offended by his enthusiasm, or his ability to dream big? Which one?? shocked You don't have to agree with me, Oga. So kindly keep your bad-belle in your back pocket.

Did you also read where he talked about not knowing where the money would come from?

Did you also read where he talked about learning from Nigerian experience, where meeting government officials was necessary to winning a bid and such meetings in Nigeria doesn't happen without you settling somebody, now that tells me that have been bribing their way to get certain contracts? What is really special about the whole bid?

Am sure he would have gone to the father to collect the money...na him papa ,so am not hating but let's not make it look like he did magic.

The guy kept talking about been super rich @29 as if life revolves around that age.
Obama retired at 54 while Trump resumed office at 71, life is turn by turn
Did you also read about how he brought a brilliant English banker named Edgar on board, who had more than 30 years of oil & gas operations and finance experience? And did you read about how he eventually raised the money before bidding? Or did you miss this part where he said;
Despondent, I called my mentor for a way forward. We agreed that between myself as a small cash contributor, himself, and a few other investors we could raise cash of USD 50 million as a maximum bid price.
He spoke about being 29, because that was how old he was when putting together this deal! sad Would you have preferred him to say he was 41, when he was actually 29? I don't get it. A number of 29 year olds, would probably not be thinking along those lines, because of their level of exposure or their different perspectives, on life. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

All the flak against Paddy, is simply due to the fact that he has a rich father. If his dad was a commodity trader in a Lagos market, would you all have shown this same level of resentment towards him? huh Just asking....

Is there anyway you will do business anywhere without one yin rules and regulations? Is there anywhere u will do business without paying taxes?
All this things u mentioned here, even a 2yr old knows..
I have worked with a contracting firm and I swear with your money, you can do business anywhere, I meant any country.

There's a man I know for example, bought a company in China, he's into supply of military and Para military uniforms, kits (major supplier), part of the suppliers of NYSC kits and all...
He bidded for up to 6 companies, his son is studying in China and a friend to a rich man in China who helped them Broker the business and acquisition...

He's also member of Nigeria - China Business council... And have met friends there who will always bring business opportunities they can invest in China, and Nigeria etc

It's not a big deal, this is what happens every other day in the business world...

Let me tell you something, to do business in Netherlands, it takes around 1500 - 2500 euros to register your business depending on the size, you can join the Dutch chamber of Commerces, meet people and get to know about business opportunities in their countries, if u have money invest..

You can go tru a citizen as a third party so as to reduce your taxation and all...

There's nothing special about this guy's story...

You dey mind dem? sad What Paddy did, by assembling some of the finest minds and talents, as well as bringing top-notch executives of state-owned oil firms on board to collaborate with him in this bid, is what some well heeled financiers attempt to do, every single day in the West, with far less tangible results. Time is money, and you think the calibre of key players that Paddy brought together, would just throw away their time and knowledge, simply because of the cash coming from one small African boy? Paddy was able to sell his vision to them, and they bought into his ideas! undecided

Vance Querio, the COO of Addax Petroleum, Richard Kent of Jeffries the investment bank, Jan-Dirk Bokhoven, the MD of the Dutch state-owned oil company, EBN etc, are not small boys by any standard. Do you know how fully booked their diaries are, for months on end? Or do you think that EBN could not have launched the bid for Chevron Netherlands on their own, without Paddy in the mix? huh

There are so many rich kids all over the world basking in their father's wealth, yet they have no idea of how to add one cent to such wealth, or even improve any aspect of their family business. sad

Hello Shade Ladipo Market

1. Your post reeks of pure hatred, envy, jealousy and makes you sound like the young man wronged you.
2. Paddy Adenuga did not throw his story at your face or force you to read through at gun point.
3. While you are entitled to your opinion, you should be reasonable and not make yourself a fool in the public square.
4. Paddy Adenuga's being privileged to be born into a rich family does not make him less of human being who shouldn't take his chances at life. He has taken a shot at life, hence his story.
5. It isn't Paddy Adenuga's fault that your father or my father aren't billionaires.
6. We are all hustling hard to provide a guaranteed future for our kids. If I eventually turn out to be a billionaire like Mike Adenuga, I don't expect anyone to throw my kids under the bus or rant because I have paid the price like Mike Adenuga has.
Gbam!! shocked You talk am well....her bad-belle and envy is just too ridiculous for words!

Guy, don't spoil my fun, o! cheesy I have been waiting for them to start lamenting and blaming your Yoruba people as usual, for their woes. But they haven't said 'peem', since. Wait, maybe they are still waiting for their e-warriors who often double as the victim criers, to come online....!

It's even more easier to do international business, because you do not Need to bribe in other countries to get business done. If you have your money, you can fly to any country and invest.
There are chambers of commerce of countries everywhere, high commissions of countries everywhere.

Maybe you are carried away by the "international"

Most of the rich kids who do Business abroad don't come online to look for cheap popularity bro
Oh so you think it is easier to leave your country, and go elsewhere and just buy up another firm that is almost like a national icon in another country, simply because of all the things you listed here? Are you aware that such foreign countries have far more stringent rules concerning taxation, labour, bidding, environmental as well as legal obligations, that you have to fulfill? Wait first, if it is so easy according to you, tell us how many international businesses have you bought in Western Europe and other foreign countries? shocked

You can't deny the fact that his name will open a LOT of doors for him, especially in a country like Naija....
It might open doors for him in Naija, if the aim is just to peddle influence or acquire some sort of social clout, but when the metal hits the road especially in a financial transaction, he still has to follow the rules and prove his worth. Like I said earlier, too many well-known names are heavily indebted to various banks.....

Yes NEGATIVE BALANCE , I have experience this on my LCC account not more than once , the first time I experienced it lasted for about a week ,my balance refuse to go down ,I keep seeing the same balance every day , I have to drive into there office to report ,then I was told they are aware of it and it as a result of a damage to the fibre optic cable and it will all be deducted later

But Nigerian will come to social media and tell the world edited story hoping to deceive ...... People.
The concluding part of the mail sent show's thier is more to the story
There is nothing in your post to show there was a negative balance, on your account! LCC could not make deductions, so your balance remained the same! Is that what you are calling a negative balance? A negative balance! means you are the one owing them, and your account with them is in the red. Please educate yourself, and do not say what you do not know!! If you are actually owing them, would the barriers be lifted up for you to pass as you approach the toll-gate? NO!! angry

This whole sh**t is overhyped.

I like his gogetter attitude and his smartness.

His writing skills isn't great. That was just too overhyped.

There was an element of boasting all through the story. There is a way you can describe expensive and classy places/things without that element of pride. Only those who read a lot of books and maybe write will get what I saw in his story.

I think a lot of Nigerians were overwhelmed because they hardly read autobiographies or hear stories like this from Nigerians.

If you read stuff from foreigners, you'll know that this isn't much.

And this story doesn't make him a perfect being or a perfect person to hold a political post. You never know too much about people. A single story is not enough. If you can be deceived by 'I had no shoes' or 'I couldn't afford my presidential candidate ticket' and you hold this story as a standard, you deserve the terrible leadership you get. A single story doesn't make one a good political candidate. Stop calling for him to run.

Plus, a lot of the things you read were not written by the actual authors. Ghostwriters plenty die! The rich and famous use them.

I'm not a hater. Just saying it as it is.

I agree that the writeup will make for a good movie.

Who else got overwhelmed by all those millions of dollars they were calling? shocked shocked shocked
And how many novels have you written? If you have written a few, how many got to the best sellers list? You are here criticising Paddy Adenuga's writing skills, but your own writing skills are nothing to even write home about!

Do not allow bad-belle to kill you. sad The guy told the story from his own personal perspective, and not from the perspective of a 3rd party! So where is the so-called boasting coming from? I strongly doubt the fact that Paddy got a ghost writer, because from info that is freely available in the public domain, it is said that Paddy has been a scriptwriter since he was 15! undecided

In the world of international business, millions of USD moves through the financial system globally, every day. Only unexposed people like you sitting in your bedrooms in one Naija town, would be astonished at the volume of transactions that go on using the dollar as a medium of exchange, daily! Talk to treasurers of multinational institutions, and bankers who have worked with world-class financial houses, and you would know.

Very inspiring... This is not stuff demonstrated simply because you were born to a wealthy family. With this attitude, even if he started life with just a wooden spoon, all things being equal, he would still make something good out of it. Good job man..remember - Abraham Lincoln failed at every election until he won the US presidency. Keep firing and you will hit it off eventually, somewhere, someplace.
Not only that, if anything ever happens to his father Mike Adenuga (God forbid bad thing!), Paddy has proved that he has the skills, talent and acumen to hold the fort, and keep his family's business conglomerate, on a sound footing.

I am indifferent about paddy adenuga's media propaganda, painting him in a derogatory way but people who have worked with him closely when he was the acting chairman of glo made positive remark about him.

This is someone that is solely behind the idea of per seconds billing in telecom business and responsible for strong staff welfare in globacom then until some wolves deceived his father to believe paddy is reckless in resources management. The company ought to have been bigger than this but see where they are till date.

I read his article keenly and what I deduce from it is an enthusiastic, intelligent, assertive and dogged young man who is an inspiration to Nigerian youths who are particular about achieving what is not achievable.

He might have loss the deal but for the courage he had put on coupled with the contacts he made will give him an edge when next an international bill comes up.

Some people will say, if not because he is from a rich home... how many sons and daughters of billionaires are so enthusiastic like him?
Thank you, o! shocked There are many rich kids from rich homes, that cannot even add one-tenth of the value that Paddy has added to his father's business and his own life, to their own family projects. Some rich kids fritter away their father's wealth on drugs, parties, vanity and women. FFK is a classic case!

His father is the second richest man in Nigeria, he's rich already, so there's a very strong final financial backing, there's a company for sale, he put in and lost... There's nothing special in that na.

Anybody, I mean anybody can do that, he can even stay back in Nigeria and bid without running up and Dan... There are many rich kids who buys existing companies too depending on how deep your pocket is...

I have a friend who we are serving together and had wanted to start a fish pond and luckily there was someone who had a problem and willing to sell, he just spoke to his mum and in 5days, the money was raised and that was it...

I believe there are millions of rich kids who would have bought and sold companies....

The only thing Is that, he's a good story teller.... At least this time, it's not about women
You obviously do not know how the world of global, cross-border international businesses, run! Free your mind from this myopic view, biko! How many rich kids of African descent do you know, that have made a bid for an international exploration company in Western Europe, from their bedrooms in Nigeria or other parts of Africa? You think that is how bids are conducted?

Let's assume that both of us write the same business proposal and everything was above 90% pass. And I come with My minutes collateral and he presents his own collateral that his father had saved for him. As a banker, will u borrow him or me? Oga be fair. Bank know what is risk management.
If your collateral provides enough guarantee to cover the loan you want to borrow, why not? Banks only make money when they lend it out at a certain interest rate, not when they keep it hidden under their blankets. And some of the rich people you see around, are already heavily indebted to the tune of billions, to other banks already....

I doubt he did the writing himself, he probably created a voice note and had a professional writer create the write up for him. You ought to see that easily, no one writes like that. Believe me, when you operate on that level, you get people to do these things for you, he simply records the story, gets a writer to properly present it, edit and create a final copy. I won't be surprised if this writeup is a chapter in his autobiography.
No sir, I know people who write like that. If you do a lot of reading, you would have come across quite a few people who do so. Writing is a talent or an innate gift, just like singing. And you can build on it, polish it, nurture it and master the craft with dedication, discipline and skill.

How do you think professional writers build their skills? While I do not dispute the fact that a rich person can hire anyone to put together his own story, I have a feeling Paddy wrote this article, all by himself. I hear he has been writing screenplays, since he was a teenager.
