Hallo mamas

Pls what can I give my boy to make him poo, I gave him avocado purée and it seems to have constipated him, before now he poos without stress... He will be 5 months next Monday. I’ve given him water but still nothing yet.

haha you are right tho, dirty people full everywhere... but I don’t just get how an adult sees bathing as hard work... for the perfume e dey affect us lol ... too expensive

When my sis gave birth, she was told that babies are born with a protective layer on their skin that nourished them in the womb (vernix or so, not sure), so she shouldn't be quick to wash it off.
Besides, I personally think we 'over bath' our babies. Baby wen no do any work, we de baff am 2 -3 times with sponge like farmer? Haba.
Only difference is our weather, if not ehn?

lol some of them are dirty oo, most of the grown ups bathe once or twice a week especially during winter... na them make perfume expensive here so lol. Some will blame cold while some will blame dry skin. If you get close to some of them especially in the bus you go wan faint. I bathe my boy just once everyday

I stumbled on a youtube video uploaded by babycenter on how to bath a newborn.

It says you shouldn't bath a baby more than once or twice a week. I also noticed the midwife didn't use soap, only a wash cloth to clean the baby in the tub with warm water and just shampoo for the baby's hair.
It says it is absolutely not necessary to use soap on a baby, but if you must, use a very mild soap.

I was even shocked that most of the commenters found nothing wrong in it..like its normal to them. One commenter even said bathing them more than twice a week can cause skin dryness and allergies early in life.. (duhhh!!)

These people are dirty IMHO! Gaddemit

lol that’s how they are oo, when I had my baby he was bathed only once. I was I. The hospital for 4 days and didn’t bath before we left. Plus that one day bath no soap oo, just water and na just wash 2 minutes and they are done lol

The water depends on your feeding method. Are you on exclusive? If you are then there's no need for water again

Morning mamas... Finally decided to bind the spirit of peeping . Please my baby will be 2 months next Tuesday, I’m being told to start giving him water, while some say to wait till 6months. Is it ok to give him water now?

I went to the hospital on Tuesday for my 38weeks appointment. They did a scan aand said baby was measuring big and that I should consider being induced or continue till my due date but to remember it might be difficult to push a big baby out. Well I was diagnosed of Gestational Diabetes so that was why the doctor offered induction because the scan showed baby was already measuring big so I agreed and I was asked to come the next day. Got there the next day being Wednesday, checked in and waited till about 6pm for the first dose of prostins or whatever it was called to be inserted, then few hours later I started contracting really bad, the doctor came and examined me and said cervix was soft and thinning but not dilated yet. She inserted the second dose and the pain was so bad I had to ask for pain relief, got it and it helped, I slept and woke up to bad bad contractions by 4am Thursday morning and it continued till I was check hours later 2 cm dilated, then 4, then 6 and then 8... and then the doctor came in and said baby heart beat was dropping with every contraction and if I’ll consider CS, I was like , I was already getting the urge to push so he did a test on the baby by drawing blood to see if the baby is really stressed or if he can stay in another 30mins to 1hr and after that if Baby is not yet born we have to go to the theatre, he left and the midwife checked me again and I was 9 and already pushing even and then less that 5 pushes my Tomtom came out before the doctor came back . Wasn’t even as big as they thought. 3 small tears and I was stitched, had a bath and held my baby... so precious ...


Another news he sucked for about 10minutes last night so we are getting there ...

I always do that but hen he just won’t keep his mouth in. Will keep on trying tho hopefully he will stick soon... thanks

My milk was already flowing but in tiny drops before I delivered. Cs was done in the morning and I couldn't eat that day and the next. My water mamas fed my baby Glucose water all through, and when I was stronger, I would try to press my breastmilk into her mouth. She too was just learning how to latch. When I was allowed to eat, I kept downing jugs of hot beverages, water. By the third day after cs, milk was flowing real good. Baby was getting used to cup and spoon, but I wouldn't let her. Despite my pains, I would insist they bring her to me to breastfeed. Gradually she started getting used to sucking, even though her cheeks would get tired and she would stop. I kept assisting her by pressing into her mouth. She's beginning to suck like a pro now.
Just keep at it. Even if you use formula, keep putting him to the breast, he'll learn gradually.

oh that’s good to know. Once I get home I’ll start taking beverages and good food hopefully that will help the milk flow well. I’m so clueless, don’t even know what to do as I’m alone here but the Lord is my strength oo lol. I pray he starts sucking soon... Thanks

We are still in the hospital as this my oga has refused to suck he is being lazy, he takes it when I express but then na onlyntiny bits dey come out, these midwives don’t seem concerned but me ayam worried, how long will it take him to start sucking? I had to ask for formula today because he didn’t get anything since 12am. I need to go home hospital is boring lol. Good thing is he sleeps a lot so he doesn’t disturb at night but then I want him to start eating

My wee man made his grand entrance at about 3:31pm today weighing in at 3.11kg thru VD with little tear. Baby and momma doing well. All glory to God. It finally ended in praise. I’m great full oh Lord. I wish the remaining mamas safe delivery
