I agree. Then Dems can't decide Biden isn't fit to run for reelection but he's fit to continue to be president.
They can't bamboozle the electorate.

Rino governor of Utah Spencer Cox finally endorsed Trump per Deseret news.
This signals moderate support and unification.

I don't expect Romney to openly endorse Trump but I bet he quietly votes for him... Same with Christie and Cheney grin.
This is a satire though isn't far-fetched.

Joe Biden was a stammer and he overcame it through personal effort many years ago when he was much younger so his stuttering is not a sign of cognitive decline but to me a sign of ability to control his stuttering declining as he advances in age which has nothing to do with his capacity to function as a "reasonable" President of the USA.

I have no extra interest in who becomes the president of America but am concerned when I see lies being exalted over truth because I know that as a result of that some people are about to go on a bitter experience to later arrive at this truth that is being pushed down now. grin

With TRUTH it is either you ACCEPT it as BITTER as it is NOW or REJECT it and go through a BITTER-EXPERIENCE afterwards to ACCEPT it as the TRUTH because sooner or LATER the TRUTH will prevail.
I have just one request... Show me videos of Biden ever stammering previously before presidency.

---The speech was abysmal, demented with lots of ramblings, going off scripts---talking about the same regurgitated points (can't call them policies)--from 2015, 2020 and mostly from his rallies---Nothing inspiring at all---

---Talking about Hannibal Lector (what has this fiction character got to do with important issues), China virus, immigrants taking black and latinos jobs (is he indicating that blacks and latinos are only good for menial jobs), praising Orban, Kim Jung un, talked about buying Wisconsin votes---taking the next Republican convention to Venezuela etc---

---Absolutely nothing on energy (apart from same script from yester-years "drill, baby drill"wink, economy, international relations, labor, health (we are still waiting for his fantastic blueprint to replace the Obamacare) etc---

---This is no longer the efficient and effective Republican party---but a metamorphized Trump MAGA party (a cult) with little or no policies---All we hear are the chants by his faithful followers 'fight, fight, fight' ---

Anybody urging Biden to drop out is paving the way for Trump to win the election because they know that only Biden can stop Trump even Trump knows this so their strategy is to create this false narrative that Biden is too old whereas he is 3 years older than Trump.

They excuse it when Trump calls Kamala Harris as Nancy Polosi or lied repeatedly in the same debate and couldn't make sense with his ramblings but they pick on Biden and immediately started calling for him to drop out because his performance was actually better than they expected.

But if Americans are so dump to believe this how much more Nigerians on Nairaland....bunch of herds grin
Not a false narrative when your party think you're an old vegetable, senile and demented according to polls but that doesn't mean they'll vote for Trump instead but it can depress enthusiasm.

This right there is the evidence of your gross hypocrisy. I have seen you post Christian messages here on nairaland and have never taken you seriously at any time, partly because of the emptiness of your responses and partly because of what you just did here. You know very well that Trump is an abuser, a hypocrite, or what you'll call a sinner in your own lingo. This is a man that indulged h.ookers, a man that talks down on disabled people, a man that is wicked at heart and is no respecter of the law or of your own God. Yet, here too are pushing the narrative that God has ordained him. Are you just nuts or are you daft? What exactly is the content of your so-called religion if this is what you believe!?
There's no single evidence to these... Keep spewing left-wing talking points.

The problem I have with democrats is that they’ll always expect perfection from their candidate while republicans will stand like a cult behind their raping, criminal incompetent buffoon as long as they get to win. They’ll justify, deny, gaslight, skirt truths and outrightly defend egregious behavior if it suits them.

While democrats are busy picking apart irrelevant imperfections in their candidates. If they stupidly let Trump win this election, it will be the last election America ever holds and I hope they’ll be happy when that happens.
America as a republic is bigger than Trump, Biden, Dems, Repubs etc.
They have strong and reliable institutions that can act independently.
You guys fear mongering and dooming isn't gonna help Biden right now because the notion is baked-in especially in this era of polarization.

Dems would definitely vote for Biden's corpse and Repubs would vote for Trump even if he shot someone dead at this juncture but independent-unaffiliated voters would always decide the fate of America (check 2020 general and 2022 midterms exit polls).

Hope you dig?

This is pure propaganda.
What does this even mean?
Trump's speech was objectively poor and rambling.

If you can't admit that, you're lying.
This is the difference between the two parties.
One lives in a cult bubble and spreads propaganda, the other can call a spade a spade.
This is just Trump being "Trump"... He's never gonna change to whom you liberals or media want him to be - deal with it!

The Dems are still in chaos and Biden's own personal/administrative issues and shortcomings would continue to supercede Trump's flaws.

His rally was cut short by the devil so 🤷... Besides the speech courted some moderates who have now decided to vote for Trump (per CNN) which proves its effectiveness on the counterbalance (tentacles expansion).

Trump isn't perfect but give me a break, dude almost lost his life days ago... I know you silently wished the bullet got him good but if saying his mind would help him alleviate the pain and recover from the shock then I'm all in.

Kudos for staying on the issues today and not being a cheap troll 👏

It is not automatic for Vance to be the front runner just because he is the VP. He may be a running mate and not gain any traction in the shadows of Trump.
Vance is charismatic and a millennial... I'm sure his the future of the republican party if Trump wins.

Pence was dud and bland but if he didn't betray Trump he'd have been shoe in for the nomination this year... He wouldn't have had any major challenges from the right and would have gotten Trump's nod as a loyal lieutenant.

I repeat, DeSantis' only chance is if Trump loses.

Trump already moved from NY to Florida after 2016and his reason for moving was because Florida is a red state, why will he now move back to NJ another blue state. You really think Trump will move state to accommodate anyone especially a Vice?

What derogatory thing did Ron say about Trump during the campaign?

He dropped out after NH and endorsed Trump without reservation

So many in the media were even taunting Ron for not attacking Trump even when Trump was attacking him

https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/desantis-refuses-attack-trump-vermin-remark-rcna127871

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/03/us/politics/desantis-trump.html

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/desantis-confronted-supporter-directly-after-trump/story?id=106084109
He can still move to New Jersey if the permutations requires that... It's political posturing and calculation.

Trump's move to Florida didn't stop his political prosecution in New York neither would it hinder one in Vegas, New Jersey or even Florida(DeSantis was rumored to have been nonchalant or possibly complicit in Mar-alago's DOJ's raid though it's debatable)

Yeah he moved out of New York mostly due to the cesspit the state has become but if politics demands he moves back there for the culture then he would.
Doesn't mean he's gonna live there... He just have to refill his home address to FEC as New Jersey, Nevada, New York etc

Ron might not have called Trump names but he threw jabs and served as a useful idiot to the Liberal media... Parroting left-wing talking points about Trump causing an insurrection, actually losing the election and causing Republicans to lose in the midterms.

Poll after poll showed there was no part for him (he was even losing his home state by 30 points), he remained in the race to undermine and provoke Trump thereby dividing the party.
His supporters ported to Kennedy's ship as a result that.

As I've said earlier, DeSantis run for president made little sense because he's ideologically inclined to Maga... He was seen as the heir but he was too fast.
He could have strongly endorsed Trump and ended any media speculation of his running... Then waited for VP or 28(peradventure Trump lost) thereby serving as the messiah to the party but he blew it.
He sat on 200 million dollars after the governorship election, refusing to answer if he's running or not to the media even after being pressed by Charlie Crist during the debate... Helping fuel the talks of his running.

He listened to his donors instead of his base.

Absolutely.

If only he's ineffective or incompetent like Kamala Harris or he fell out with Trump like Pence.

Similarly, if Whitmer challenges Harris to the nomination, she (Harris) would still be a favourite.

DeSantis would cease power by 2026 and may erode from people's mind by 2028 while Vance would still be making policies till then.

Trump would 100% endorse Vance to be his successor over DeSantis.
Coupled with Vance's incumbency advantage... It's gonna be lights out for anything DeSantis still holds by then.

There is a future for DeSantis. Vivek was a snake in the primaries. Haley was intoxicated by the potential she saw when dems started voting for her.

JD vance may not even stand a chance against DeSantis. Trump has a huge base and no one would have survived going against him.
Where's the future if I may ask.

How does DeSantis stand a chance against VP Vance (who will inherit Trumpism and MAGA)?
He couldn't even beat Nikki Haley to second in his home state of Florida.

If DeSantis tries to challenge Vance he'd be given the same treatment Trump gave him during the primaries... Vance would remind the base of the betrayer DeSantis is.
DeSantis was roasted and demolished day and night by Trump and his base right from the 'failure to launch' of his campaign on Twitter to abysmal performance in Iowa after campaigning no where else but there for months.

Not sure about Vivek but I think the guy would be solid on issues like Mike Lee, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz... He needs to be given the chance to prove himself.

DeSantis only hope is a Trump's loss... That would re-ignite his slogan of 'I know how to win'

Haley's and DeSantis' ego led to their downfall.

He couldnt have been VP anyway because he is Florida gov, How does a sitting Florida governor find a way around the home state issue? Will he claim to be from another state while still being Florida governor?

JD called Trump Hitler, today he is his VeePee,
Romney blasted Trump in the run up to 2016, yet was considered for Secretary of State.
Ben Carson ran against Trump and was made HUD secretary
Vivek also ran against Trump, now he is one of his surrogates,
Ron while in the run never attacked Trump personally the way JD did

Did you see Trumps reception of DeSantis speech yesterday?

I like DeSantis and I hope post FL governorship he gets on the National stage
Trump could practically move to New Jersey... He has properties there. It's same reason ever Rubio was considered.

JD retraced his steps and apologised that he was wrong and voted for Trump in 2020.

Romney wasn't ever considered personally by Trump as secretary of state... It was mostly speculations that Rod Rosenstein told Trump to appoint Romney as Secretary of state after he (Rod Rosenstein) and Romney visited Trump shortly after the inauguration.
The establishment were those floating that.

Trump saw Ben Carson as his best friend during the primaries of 2016 and Carson didn't make derogatory remarks against Trump(he endorsed Trump immediately after dropping out)... Same as Vivek (he infact was seen as his surrogate).

Ron ran a bitter and spiteful campaign against Trump... He burnt about 200 million dollars only to lose every county in Iowa despite spending most of his time there.
His campaign was kinda annoying just like Haley's.
I don't really see a future for him at near politically.
He may try the senate if Rubio or Rick retires.

Do you think he'd challenge Vance for the nomination by 2028?

DeSantis running against Trump pained and vexed Trump the most.
DeSantis was considered a rising star to continue the maga policies.

Trump didn't really much about others except Haley because of her globalist/pro-war stance.

How did he kill his career?
He could have been leading Trump's shortlist for VP if they found a way round the home state issue.

Maga still loathes DeSantis for running against Trump...Trump took the hold step of endorsing DeSantis in the primaries in 2018 when he was posing to Putnam but how did he pay him back?

Nikki Haley challenging Trump wasn't much a surprise bearing their policy difference but DeSantis is considered a Trump clone and similar ideologically.

He could have waited for 2028.

If Trump wins Vance would be the nominee in 2028.
DeSantis may be done.

I have not an ounce of pity for Trump. I only feel sad for the would-be assassin because he was so young, just 20, and sorry for his family. I also feel sadness for the fireman and his family. I only fault the security detail assigned to Trump for not acting quick enough so that the boy is apprehended and saved from himself instead of as things panned out. Saving Trump wasn't my concern. Apparently that boy was shot through one eye. Imagine how his parents must feel.

Trump clinching his fist and mouthing, "fight, fight' was pathetic. His flabby face only elicited in me a wish that I could reach through the TV screen and give him a solid slap! How people can feel sympathy for Trump that felt no sympathy for a few notable past deaths, is beyond
me. His casual remarks after George Floyd's death; that 12 year old boy that the police shot dead, mistaking his cap-gun for a real gun; the woman deliberately run over by a racist during the Black Lives matter protest; and the two men shot dead by that idiotic, possibly racist teenager, Kyle Rittenhouse during the civil unrest that followed the shooting of Jacob Blake. Kyle Rittenhouse is an all American Hero in Trump's world.

Trump was smug throughout. Yet he now wants sympathy after being shot himself and he is unfortunately getting an avalanche load of care and support.

I can't express how annoying it is to witness the so called Right poncing around acting all wronged when they are instigators in chief.
This only helps Trump's election
