This is common sense ...The opposite is the case In situation he is not doing official act ...This is not victory for trump cos nobody is challenging his immunity when he does official duties . What really constitute official act...? This is what the court will be looking into to ascertain his culpability in the insurrection . The judgement only allow trump to buy time ...not a victory for him ..His delay tactics can only help him only if he became next president...otherwise he is doomed .
Whether delay or not they'll finally rule that past presidents has absolute immunity on official acts later at some point... And it's gonna be landmark!

Nobody just comes from "nowhere" to become president or prime minister of a country (except via a coup!).

Let's take the example of Gabriel Nissim Attal de Couriss, the current Prime Minister of France.

The POTUS does practically nothing in America. Strong institutions, not presidents, run the United States. Once a president elects good heads to run the institutions, he will go to sleep. Whether a president is old or young doesn't matter.

Americans love their country and will do anything to see her succeed; a president doesn't have to bother supervising them all the time. America is not like Nigeria where everyone is loyal to the president, instead of their country. If not that America had strong institutions, that insurrection would have set that country on unquenchable fire.

Besides politics has entered the courts as democrats initiated that during the confirmation of Robert Bork back in the 80s, Thomas' confirmation in the 90s, Alito's confirmation in 2005 and the worst of all Kavanaugh's confirmation in 2018... So they have no reason to cry foul now

This is a perfectly-timed also a delay strategy (due to the politics involved)...Thomas and Alito wouldn't love Biden or a Democrat to name their replacement as they're definitely retiring if Trump wins.

Black voters not supporting Republicans isn't a Trump issue but in contrary it's a generic issue.

Blacks has been engineered not to support any republican regardless of how bad the opposing democrat may be... They grew up being told not to vote republicans.
It's only few conservative blacks and those that immigrated from Africa that supports most of republican messaging in broader view.

John James faced Gary Peters (a white man) and still lost 90% of black support... Tim Scott(a black man) keeps getting elected in South Carolina without gaining more than 5% of black vote.

Anyone that tells you it's just Trump's rhetoric or style is a bloody liar.

I don't trust Stefanik on issues but she's a strong Trump backer and would defend him at any cost... She has quite a mainstream/moderate voting record.
If Trump wants a New Yorker then Lee Zeldin is the best... He has broad appeal and had a strong conservative voting record in Congress.

Noem would be good too regardless of scandals but something seems off about her of which I can't really wrap my hands around.

Kari Lake would be bulletproof against the deepstate strikes.

Gotta say I'm not enamored by the roster. The names being floated do not excite me.
There's an asterisk to every one of them.
It's either they don't add much to the ticket, they aren't dyed-in-the-wool MAGA and will turn on Trump if the opportunity presents (still reeling from the Pence backstab), or they'd even be liabilities.

I'm not a big fan of identity politics, but I'd want a woman on the ticket. Abortion is a big issue. But we've got milquetoast Tulsi, cardboard Noem, and McCain-in-stilettos Nikki. I'd take Lake or Sanders but they're not on the shortlist.
Next up are minority males. Vivek will lock in some Americans and alienate others. Tim Scott and Ben Carson are no Obama. I can't believe Rubio, Vance, Bergum are being floated. These are next-gen Pompeos, Tillersons or Mattis. They'd be the anonymous sources of his second Presidency.

I really do wish he waits until the Dem nominee situation is resolved before he drops a name.

Actually I also have strong reservations concerning some of those potential picks even though I understand the logic and politics behind it but Trump has to be wise, calculative and decisive... VP don't really matter these days (check out Harris) though it helped Trump in 2016 because he's new on the political arena and needed a conservative evangelical long time republican as running mate to convince voters that he's not a limousine liberal as Ted Cruz labelled him during the primaries.

Right now I'd prefer Carson or Donalds because they'd be palatable to the broad republican base and mainstream establishment... They wouldn't turn off any sect of voters at all because you wouldn't love to be on the record opposing a black VP candidate... They'd also be solid on issues and wouldn't commit to certifying any future fraudulent elections.

Democrats and the establishment/deep state wouldn't try much to remove Trump because they know they'd be getting either Trump 2.0 in Donalds or an unpredictable Carson... They also wouldn't want the Republicans to produce the first black male VP.

Vivek is even viewed by some republicans as a snake but I think he'd be good too but some Republicans might take offense in his personality.
The reason Trump might not chose Vivek is due to his penchant/affinity to attention... Two showmen on the stage would disagree might be problematic and Vivek has his own ambitions too but he's an impeachment check on the deep state/Dems.

Doug Borgum has lots of question marks... He adds nothing extraordinary to the ticket but he balances it just like Carson would too.
But he'd seems like a globalist RINO who would suck up to China... Remember he vetoed Trans bills and gave land to Chinese communists in small state deep-red North Dakota.
I have little faith in the guy but democrats would have a hard time labelling him as a extremist.
Tim Scott is a cowering thunderbolt and quite solid but a bigger RINO than Borgum... Remember he tanked some conservative judges during Trump's presidency.

Ron DeSantis would have been the best option but he already burnt bridges with Trump and annoyed the base during his campaign... Nicki Haley is a no no... She pisses me off badly.
Lake would be a solid pick.

The best reliable conservative woman pick would be Sarah Huckabee Sanders... The best male would be Carson and Donalds (if he agrees to move from Florida).

Way I see it, the Dems need Michigan, Penn, and Wisconsin.
They get those, it's game over.
Whitmer can get all 3. The surprise would be if she didn't.

Yea, I know her declining favorability in Michigan should be considered.
But if Dems are holding their own in legislative races, I think Whitmer is the pick to beat.

On Trump, without the mail-in-ballot, voter roll, city-voting shenanigans, I think he's a formidable force hamstrung by this 24 hours news cycle that has uniquely and successfully made him into this Grinch.
I am not concerned about a match-up with the likes of Newsom or Harris. I think he dispatches those handily. Whitmer gives me the creeps because she understands Midwest politics at a fundamental level and has the win record to back it.

Whitmer would be a formidable candidate just as Hilary would also... Remember Hillary was beating everyone in the republican field and had approval ratings in the 60s until Trump brought his aggressive campaign style.
Whitmer would be rolled in the mud immediately she jumps into the national spotlight.

American politics now is dirty and tricky... She would defeat a neocon but a nationalist/populist stands a better chance against her.

If she jumps in now it's gonna have a hard time unifying the party and composing a consensus message needed to tackle Trump but due to the contrast with their age and Trump's more baggage she has something viable to offer moderates and independents.

If you mean now... Then the removal of Biden and bypassing of Harris may be chaotic and would alienate lots of voters especially women of color.
And it goes to contrast with what the Dems ideology.

Whitmer would have a hard time uniting the party and building a coalition NOW... It ain't so late but it's a bit late.

If Biden and Harris willingly step aside without anger then she may be able to form something... How that plays out in the general is uncertain too.

90 percent of Dems would vote for the nominee even if it's a corpse but independents can be unpredictable and a chunk of those undecided can be volatile too.
The election is gonna be about base turnout and independents.

She'd need a compelling message against someone like Trump at this time of the campaign.

Trump also isn't an easy candidate to walkover too for some reasons.

It's not a conspiracy that Trump has increased his support from 2020... You claimed sometime this year that Trump wasn't gonna add support because he hasn't done anything but polls says otherwise.

Always read and comprehend... I never said Trump was winning the black vote but he's definitely gonna grow his support from 12% to 15-18% due to added support from young black males within 29 to 34 (mostly).

Yes Trump is unpopular within the average black community but that doesn't mean there's non voting for him ... Maybe that's why the guy has to clarified in order not to lose patronage.
He may even have been bullied by leftists... We see that a lot against Trump supporters or people that express their support for Trump in one way or the other.

The guy might still be a potential Trump voter in secrecy. We never can really tell from media paparazzi.
