congratulations! Please which organisation did you order GCMS note on July 27th from? I'm just wondering why you didn't receive it and if it is due to negligence on their part or some other reason.

Hi everyone,

I stumbled on this thread sometime in January 2018 while I was researching about going for an MBA in Canada and found it to be a better alternative. So I started reading the thread and I took the first step in April 2018 by sending my credentials to WES. WES took about 4months to conclude my evaluation and I finally got it on July 26, 2018.

Before the result came, I had registered for IELTS and was supposed to write in June. But alas, I was not allowed to write due to some "unusual" features on my International Passport. I thought I could get it replaced at no cost but it took 5weeks before I could get a reply from NIS requesting that I bring my passport to Abuja for examination. I concluded it was not worth the time, declared it lost and applied for a replacement. This set me back about 5 months (was broke at the time and replacement took 2months). I eventually got the replacement and informed BC. Had to pay for a change of date after spending some 70k on replacement.

Wrote IELTS in December and passed at the first attempt (LWRS - 8.5,7,9,7. 5/6,5.5,5.5,7.7 for spouse). I created an EE profile on Jan 2, 2019 with a score of 454 and got ITA on Jan 10, 2019.

I started having doubts about my application because of the date of resumption of one of my jobs. I started the job on July 31, 2017. As at when I created the EE, the cumulative years of experience I was using was 2yrs and 11months(but my score was for 3years experience. Only month and year was required for creating the profile. I assumed the system calculated with July 1) . I started considering rejecting the ITA but thanks to all those who advised against it then. I finally submitted my application on February 5, 2019.

I will like to state that, of the 3 work reference I used, one was written by a colleague on the letterhead of the company. I had heard before then that if your colleague or manager was writing you a reference, it should not be on the letterhead but I felt more comfortable having it on the letterhead. Also, one of the references was not in IRCC format as it did not state my working hours and job description. I wrote letter of explanation to the effect, and stated my job description and working hours myself and signed. The point here is to do what makes you comfortable. Like it's always said here, no 2 applications are the same.

The wait after submission was a very excruciating one but PPR finally came after 7months and 4days. Below is my timeline :

ECA :Jul 26, 2018
IELTS : Dec 15, 2018
EE Profile: Jan 2, 2019
ITA : Jan 10, 2019
AOR : Feb 5, 2019
MEP/BIL : Mar 20, 2019
Biometrics Captured : Mar 21, 2019
GCMS Note 1: Ordered in April and received in May. Security and eligibility not started. Others, passed.
GCMS Note 2: Ordered July 27 and not received
Ghost update : Sept 5, 2019
PPR : Sept 9, 2019
Passport submitted : Sept 11, 2019. Awaiting COPR.

Many thanks to all the people who take time out to answer people's questions and deposit their knowledge here. Without this thread, I would never have thought I could do this without an agent. My advice to newbies is to read as much as possible. And not to get discouraged by obstacles. They can be surmounted.

See you all in Canada! smiley smiley smiley

Landed seniors. I have been following this thread since January 2018. I'm happy to announce I got my PPR yesterday. I look forward to your guidance in making the remaining part of the journey as seamless as possible.

I saw a comment on a whatsapp group where someone said it's not necessary to submit 6months statement if one is using Treasury Bills as POF. I'd like to get a second opinion on this. Is this correct? Save a brother from wasting time please

When creating profile with only HND.

You will pick Three years diploma first and fill your ECA number and click on add to add the second educational qualification as ONE year diploma. Also fill the same ECA number.

With this your profile becomes two or more and your CRS score will be same 454 as your CRS calculator.

When creating profile with HND and ND

You will pick Three years diploma first and fill your ECA number and click on add to add the second educational qualification as ONE year diploma. Also fill the same ECA number.

You also pick TWO years diploma for your ND.

That was what we did and it was accepted. It was displayed as three years diploma and one year postgraduate diploma in our gcsm notes.

The Analyst will work with whats on your ECA report. We Verified only our HND as three year diploma and one year postgraduate diploma.

WES verified only our HND as there year diploma and one year postgraduate certificate.

BUT with ICES you must verify both your ND and HND to get two or more certificate.

Many Thanks

Hi all. Need an HND holder who has successfully created a profile to guide me. Please signify if you can help

I have successfully created a profile but I have a CRS of 429 compared to 454 when I used the CRS calculator. I observed the 25 point loss was in the area of SKILL TRANSFERABILITY - FOREIGN WORK EXPERIENCE. CRS gave me 50 but I have 25 in my EE profile. I am guessing it may be due to how I filled my educational credentials. Can someone please advise on a way around it, preferably someone with an HND who has successfully created a profile. Thanks.

Still on the INELIGIBILITY E-MAIL. I submitted a profile this morning with 17,000CAD as POF for a family of 2 but I still got the ineligibility mail. I think this is beyond an increase in POF

After a very long wait, finally passed my IELTS. LRWS-8.5,9,7,7.5. Thought I could get in the pool immediately but turns out I need my TRF no.

I got in through the gateway route but unsure about this adv diploma thingy oo. Abeg, educate me before I’d be sitting on long thing. At what point are you issued the adv diploma certificate? Plus, I really don’t see much difference between 3yrs and 4yrs oooo *my opinion*
Once you pass MCS exam, you're issued the certificate

Hey. I evaluated CIMA Adv Diploma as 4year Bachelors. So I suggest you present your Adv. CERT.
2. YES
3. Are you Nigerian, if yes go to CIMA office in ikoyi. 20 Alexandra road. They will help with info on PER.

All the best
Hi Jonababa. My CIMA Adv Diploma was evaluated as 3 years bachelors degree by WES. Did you also use WES? I got in through the gateway route though, could that be a factor?

Hello people. I really need help with my International Passport. British Council did not allow me take my IELTS because of some features on my passport they were not comfortable with. There are some circles at the top top of the passport that are 12 on my passport but should be 6 according to them. Also coat of arm is showing twice. The small coat of arms at the bottom are also 12 instead of 6. I have been to the immigration office. They read the passport with their machine and my details popped up. They insist there is nothing wrong with the passport. BC insist they won't accept it. I learnt from someone that I couldn't apply for another passport until it expires. My ECA is due to arrive on July 31. IELTS is my problem now. I sent a mail to Servicom but no response after about one month. I had to call several times before I could reach them. They suggested that the passport was not properly activated. I went back to Immigration office in but their systems are down. But i doubt its an activation problem. Every other passport there that were yet to be activated did not have the same features as mine. Please if you've heard of a situation like this before, kindly advise on a way out.

Also, i had a former colleague in a bank verify the passport on NIS verification portal and it's confirmed genuine. I'm really confused.

Well, the FG has refuted those claims though. See here. I think this is just a battle of who gets the revenue made by conducting these marriages. We'll see how it all plays out.

I believe all are acceptable by CIC. Whether Ikoyi Registry or Saki LG Registry

I think this issue needs to be addressed .

We should not just fold our arms and assume everything is fine.

Why is WES not evaluating ACA certificate positively ? How on earth will ICAN call that thing they send to WES transcript?
Other than it being typed on their letter head, it doesn’t in any way look like transcript.

ICAN will send transcript without your grades, is that one transcript? WES categorically stated on their website that a transcript should include the candidate’s grades.
Please, when next you attend your district meetings, don’t hesitate to raise it. Present & Future applicants shouldn’t suffer.

They just realized they needed to engage CPA, ICAEW and others ; igba yii laaro .

Brother, It is very very annoying. As with everything in Nigeria. I even sent mine for verification even though I have heard it will not get a good assessment. But I sent it anyway cos I worked for that certificate. I also sent my Adv Dip in MA (CIMA UK). Guess what, it was accepted. No long verification process. All the other Nigerian credentials are still awaiting verification. Who did we offend in this country?

Of course, what do you expect?

Citizens are getting better info and smarter at DIY (Doing It Yourself), which automatically translates to lesser cash for the boys.

The PO boys are not smiling at all! grin grin

Soon the NPF's PCC team may stop smiling too as people increasingly get a hang of smarter ways of using available technology to half the cost of getting these stuff done. cheesy

It will end in praise IJN!

Please in what way can I get PCC done by myself? Someone already charged me 20k for me and my spouse (10k each). Help a brother abeg

Yes like every normal eye test you will be told to stand at a distance and read the text on the wall, then the Dr. would ask you to close each of the eyes. Nobody would block your eye for you, you will block it by yourself with the doctor busy scriblling something down on a paper .

Atleast that was how mine went.

What are you insinuating? grin grin grin
