Its supposed to be the ideal but not practical. While he was on earth he was beefed. How much more we his representatives- the church.
But what i know is that God has a way of turning evil darts aimed at the church into stepping stones for her. As they keep talking against the church, she keeps growing because its fame and some people wit inquisitive minds would delve in to know whatz up.
