A woman narrowly escaped tragedy following a robbery attack which happened earlier today in Bayelsa state.

It was gathered that the victim identified Elizabeth Mangi, was attacked by armed robbers who disposessed her of all her belongings and pushed her out of a moving tricycle popularly known as 'Keke Napep' along a highway in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The bloodied victim who was abandoned in the middle of the highway - was rushed to the hospital by sympathizers and is currently receiving medical treatment in undisclosed hospital in Yenagoa.

Hello guys. I'm kinda in a dilemma rgt now. I'm a medical doctor about #500k a month with allowances. However I have been offered a scholarship for masters in the UK and I'm hoping to practice over these subsequently.

However I'm torn between resigning my job here in Nigeria (which though quite high paying but is riddled with frustrations from poor working conditions to poor facilities to practice my skills as a surgeon etc) OR accepting the scholarship offer and moving onto a place with good facilities and potentials.

I have this fear of the unknown, if I resign over here and move over there only to discover things aren't what it seemed or as rosy as I thought. Advice urgently needed pls.

My mother-in-law did her eye surgery at this hospital about 5 years ago, she stayed at the hospital for about two or three days, the total cost was around 70k. Ancillia Catholic Hospital is good. Amazing staff and clean environment.

In Nigeria once you become reasonably wealthy. By all means possible avoid directly interacting with strangers who you know are very poor. 1. They sighted that check point in a spot that has poor clear view. That’s to trap unsuspecting motorists who may turn on sighting them from a good head start.

2. If they had their suspicions about that car they should have cleared them off the high way. But they did not cos they were tactically looking for ways to extort them.

Check points have outlived its usefulness in Nigeria. It should be scrapped.

The police officers were useless, brainless and evil. The Vehicle being check should have been on the road side. Secondly, there should have been a speed reduce sign before the checkpoint. Blaming the innocent family is totally off the wall.
