First of All - Definition by First Principle

Money is anything that can be used in exchange for goods and service and to pay debt.
Money is a means to an end.

Goods and Services are ends in themselves and whatever can be used to get them has over the course of human history been called "Currency" Adapted from the CURRENT (etymologically meaning TO FLOW) . If a certain thing can flow round it means its generally accepted then its money in a sense. Ifs officially called money when the legal backing of the jurisdiction applies but it must be remembered that it is geared towards the settlement of debt and the procurement of goods and services.

The world's economy is backed by gold as the universal currency. Divisibility brought about the use of items to represent value that invariably connect to the gold. It will be fraudulent to acquire more of those items without a corresponding value in goods and services. Everyone in the market is watching so when you want to pull the above trick, that your currency drops in value - see how i just defined Inflation?

Trade by Barter came up as a direct exchange for goods and services while the items we call Money (Cowries, notes, coins, etc are go between goods and services).

As i typed COINS, i remember a time where the physical coin in Nigeria was more valuable than what it was meant to exchange. What happened then was that people started smelting the metal and sold them for FAR hefty sums till the government realized and reduced the quality of metal composition of the metal used in making the coins if is must still serve as a medium of exchange because it was fast disappearing.

That brings us to a point to note "the value of the medium of exchange must be far less than the goods and services it is being exchanged for".


Reading will help to expand your understanding of the concept. I will personally recommend the book "School of Money " by Olamide Emmanuel.

While I admit that this piece might just as well be dummy to push some players to action, I admit I like this piece.

I had to run a research about the state politically to appreciate the unfolding dynamics.

1. I noticed that absolute unreasonable subservience is foreign to people of the SS and SE region.

2. Since 1999, Only GOA was not annointed by his predecessor (at least at the primary stages) and ironically, he did not fight Attah on assuming power.

3. GOA is perfecting the blendmix of Northern and Southwestern politics where on one hand, leaders make other leaders and leverage on it (SW, Tinubu as example) and on the other hand, play progressive politics where the interest of the people ranks supreme irrespective of the party difference at the centre and the state level (The Northern style) . It's worthy of note that before GOA coming on the scene, the opposite has been the case.

4. Consequent on the Northern Style just enumerated, the NATIVELY PDP state broke precedence in 2023 voting pattern by veering from the top to bottom approach to delivering GOA from the APC to the Senate and the margin unbelievable for abinitio, the people knew the outcome. The love the Akpabios that the nephew was delivered to the House of Assembly under PDP while the Uncle was sent to Abuja for a second term under APC.

5. Consequently on (4) above,his constituency can be termed politically intelligent as they were aware of the strategic presidential primary step Down by GOA and know that all politirethmetric equal, GOA who is a go-getter will clinch the nation's number 3 seat.

6. GOA is loved by people in the state any given Friday and even the power of incumbency Emma Had could not change that. The junior Akpabio not clinching Speaker might simply be a protest move by Eno cos of GOA had interest in his nephew coasting to victory, oga Governor might not mind as long as the approach is okay but the Junior Akpabio had the wrong person behind him.


7. How do you fight the person that brought you from oblivion to power and expect that the person you bring will blindly heed to you after you are no more governor?
Even the traditional politician in GOA allowed Emma when he broke ranks. The business man Emma wants his successor to stay down even when it's not in his interest or the interest of the state for which Eno knows that his search for legitimacy will be cemented by an alliance with Akpabio.

8. Eno was foisted on the people by the strictly PDP structure which the ex governor Emma controlled. He needs Akpabio to worm his way to the people's heart but I doubt if cross carpeting will be to to Eno's interest as the state is ideologically PDP.

9. From 1999 to date, Kano and Lagos among others has been able to prove that the state and the centre don't have to be the same political party to bring development to the state as long as the dramatis personae have sense. The people especially when they are politically aware are the king's.

10. It is beginning to turn out that the ones we don't expect anything from are ready to surprise us out of our shoes and be patriots.

11. It's safe to say that Emma has been retired politically but never say never in politics.

12. It's also safe to say that GOA will be on the scene for a long time as long as he doesn't insult his proud Annang- tribe and the state as large. His charisma, eloquence among other things matching his political acumen and propensity to learn fast are his assets .

13. If it was not gleaned from the piece, I will make it clear. A GOA/Eno alignment is in the best interest of Akwa Ibomites.
