PoliticsRe: Olayinka Omigbodun, Victor Banjo’s Daughter: Ojukwu Betrayed My Dad, Killed Him by Leez(m): 4:04pm On Oct 09, 2017
cristianisraeli:
Fifty years ago, the late Lt. Col Victor Banjo, the 16th Nigerian to be commissioned into the Nigerian Army, was publicly executed reportedly on the orders of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who was then the Military Head of the secessionist Biafra Republic. He was an Ijebu from Ogun State but died fighting on the Biafran side during the Nigerian civil war.
Banjo was before his death, in detention on allegations that he took part in the January 1966 coup, was released by Ojukwu when the war broke out and convinced to lead part of the Liberation Army, which went on the offensive against the Nigerian Army and got as far as Benin, in present day Edo State. Banjo was to declare another republic upon having Benin under his control.
In this interview with Dare Odufowokan, Assistant Editor, his daughter, Mrs. Olayinka Omigbodun, a Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Ibadan, recalls how Banjo’s young family was thrown into disarray upon his arrest and detention. She also lamented what she described as the unjust treatment meted out to her father while explaining why she thinks Ojukwu killed his friend, her father.

How does it feel remembering the events that led to the reported execution of your father (Lt. Col. Victor Banjo)?

First and foremost, I must express gratitude to God for keeping us alive and well all these years. Despite the fact that we lost our father while still so young, God has kept us to see this day. We are four children, two boys, two girls. I am the third. We’ve all been able to go through school and acquire degrees. All of us are alive and healthy.

I thank God for the kind of parents he gave me. Our father died 50 years ago and our mum 20 years ago. She was a widow for 30 years before she also went to be with the Lord. I am proud of them. It was 30 years of struggle and difficulty, but with our late mother determined to fulfil her promise to our dad, we made it.

Why do you think he did that to his friend?

He conveniently blamed Banjo and three other men. Lt. Col Ifeajuna, Alele and one other for sabotaging the Biafran efforts. He needed to tell the people who were losing faith in him something new as a reason for the defeats. His fear about the imminent fall of Enugu was also driving him to do something. So, on trumped up charges, my father and three other men were tried by a Kangaroo court and killed by firing squad in 1967.

The trial did not reveal any evidence linking Banjo with any act of treason against Ojukwu or the Biafran government. In fact, it took a second military tribunal to convict Banjo because the first tribunal stated that the evidence presented to it was insufficient to prove Banjo’s guilt in the case. Unsatisfied and not ready to let my father off the hook, Ojukwu constituted another tribunal speedily.

Apparently, it was a clear case of sacrificing someone as a scapegoat because while my father was looking forward to assisting Ojukwu further with the Biafran war in spite of the huge risk and sacrifice involved for him as a person, Ojukwu was looking for a way of implicating him for sabotage so as to retain the control of the region. Ojukwu betrayed my father by killing him.

And you don’t think his not agreeing in the secession was a reason he got into trouble with Ojukwu?

Well, they were friends and friends disagree. They probably must have disagreed on that before then because my father never hid his patriotism. But again, I was told that hours after the execution, Enugu fell. I am a Professor. Human beings are very fickle. We are wont to always look for excuses. For scapegoats; so, my father was simply the sacrifice.

He knew my father was up for one Nigeria. Even before drafting him into the war on his side, he knew my father was a patriot who wanted one united Nigeria. After the war we left Nigeria for Sierra Leone but my mother brought us back because my father, in his letters, had insisted we must be raised as Nigerians. So, his patriotism was never in doubt. Ojukwu merely executed him to cover up his own failures as a leader of the war.

But Gowon later became the Head of State. Why didn’t he release your dad?

After Gowon was installed as Head of State, my father made several overtures to him for his release. But Gen. Gowon refused to release him even though he knew he was not part of the coup. The only concession he gave was that Banjo could be transferred to a prison in Lagos if he so wished. My father rejected the offer.

Even when my father wrote Ironsi from prison in Ikot Ekpene, on June 1, 1966, he was wondering what on earth he did to warrant being imprisoned. He faulted the way he was being treated and asked for justice, fairness and loyalty from Ironsi as a loyal officer. He saw his detention as a grievous crime against him. He pleaded his innocence and asked to be released. There is really no basis for tagging him as a ‘coupist’. I sincerely think setting the records straight is one of the things Nigeria, and the likes of Gen. Gowon, owe us as his family and children.

It is very painful for us not knowing how he ended really. Not knowing where his remains are. Not even the exact date of his death. We only read in the book of a foreign journalist who had witnessed his execution of the date and circumstances. Beyond that, there is little or nothing to prove how he ended. This is very sad.

dinma007:
A lady identified as Ilerioluwa has been arrested at Ogudu, Lagos, for allegedly cutting off her neighbor, Suleman Babangida’s tongue.

Incident reportedly happened last Thursday, October 5th around midnight. Ilerioluwa allegedly did it for rituals.
The victim Babangida, while narrating how he was attacked, said:

“It was around 11:30pm when I came back home. Then when I was about to go and urinate at the bathroom, all of a sudden I just saw this lady that I usually call Ilerioluwa, at my back inside the bathroom.
I was like sister Ileri what’s happening, all of a sudden, she just choked my neck and I could not have the strength to scream out extremely. All I could see next was that my tongue had been cut down.”
Ileri was later arrested and the tongue retrieved from her. According to Babangida, she is currently being detained at the Kirikiri prison, after appearing in court on Friday.

Regarding his current condition, Babangida said:

“Right now I can’t even eat or take something. I am in pain. The tongue can’t be reattached any longer. I’m not in any relationship with Ileri.
I respected her a lot and took her like a sister. She has nothing to say about what she did to me. The case has been adjourned till the 16th of this month.”

President of the group, Chief John Nnia Nwodo on Thursday pointed out that the agitation for Biafra was not an Igbo agenda. He made these statements during the Inauguration of state and local government executives of the Abia state chapter of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo.He said;

“We should forget Biafra and insist on restructuring,” adding, however, that no Igbo is happy with the situation of things in Nigeria, “we must seek for peaceful ways of resolving the issues.”

He spoke further that the restoration of Biafra was a tall order due to the numerous constitutional roadblocks, finalizing by saying that the agitations will not be in the overall interest of Igbos and their political relationships with other regions of the country.

He also advised youths, that in as much as they were protesting being marginalized, they should tone down the words and hate speech.

Christianity EtcRe: The Super Computer Called God And The Simulated Universe by Leez(m): 12:22am On Oct 06, 2017
sukkot:
So when you take a look at the goings on in the planet earth it seems like every event organically develops and happens naturally. However this is not the case. We live in a simulated universe that is controlled by numbers and the program that runs everything and controls everything is already pre-programmed by the ultimate SUPER COMPUTER GOD. meaning when your parents had sex to conceive you was a programmed and executed program and the day you popped out was already programmed. The zodiac house you popped out on and the degrees and minutes and seconds into the house when you popped out was programmed. everything that will happen to you is already programmed including the schools and jobs you will participate in.

The type of skills you will acquire is already programmed. the person you will marry, your accidents and close shaves, how many children you will have, the day you will die and the type of death, the country you will be born in and the one you will live in and the one you will die in, and in all these programmed events in your life is a message to be decoded by illuminated beings if you were popular or famous enough. Like celebrities lives are programmed with a message in it for the illuminated seers on the planet so as to glean what season the planet is in. Celebrities are like the blackboards on which messages are written and for this reason are they raised up so that the seers in all countries can read the messages. Like you will be surprised by the program that has many celebrities dying at the age of 27 ( jimmy hendrix, janis joplin, jim rorrison, kurt cobain, mia zapata, amy whinehouse etc. whizkid is currently 27 hmmm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club

So this is one of the simulated programs to take celebs out at the age of 27 by the use of drugs. There are many of such simulated programs running in this simulated universe.

another of the simulated programs is the september 11 program of destruction. of course we remember the sept 11 twin tower bombings in 2001 and the sept 11 hurricane irma devastation in 2017, on sept 11 2015 a large crane collapses in mecca killing more than 100 people, 29 people are killed in japan after a bus runs off a mountain highway in nepal in 2012, etc etc.

and there are many more programs in this matrix including the programs that control the weather, and the ones that control peoples everyday activities and the ones that control animals, and the ones that control astrological events etc. And in this simulated existence is where heaven and hell exists. you are either programmed to destruction or you are programmed to prosperity and power. This is heaven and hell, this is the spiritual realm underneath this 3D reality and everything is controlled by a pre-programmed super computer called GOD

and in this simulated program we have the parallel doppelganger existence, meaning the same program which controlled one persons life say 100 years ago will be the same program controlling another persons life 100 years later and as such their life occurrences will be exactly the same as in the case of JFK and abraham lincoln http://boredomtherapy.com/jfk-lincoln-connection/

IN CONCLUSION ? THIS IS A PRE-PROGRAMMED SIMULATED REALITY / EXISTENCE. BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE TWO LINKS PROVIDED SO AS TO HAVE YOUR MIND BLOWN

PoliticsRe: NNPC: 5 Damaging Things Kachikwu Revealed In His Letter To Buhari by Leez(m): 12:05am On Oct 05, 2017
BounceNigeria:
The can of worms have been opened and the stench is ugly.

Earlier in the day, news broke that a letter, which the Minister of State for Petroleum, and Chairman Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) board wrote to President Buhari over the state of affairs in the NNPC, had leaked into public domain.

In the letter, Kachikwu detailed instances of corruption and insubordination channeled by NNPC's Group Managing Director (GMD), Dr Maikanti Baru.

Here are 5 damaging things Kachikwu's letter revealed.

1. Kachikwu hasn't seen President Buhari since he got back from London: According to Kachikwu, despite repeated attempts to see President Buhari, the two Petroleum ministers have not had a one-on-one meeting since Buhari got back from his extended sick leave in the United Kingdom. Said Kachikwu:

"I would have wanted to come personally after receiving you at the airport to felicitate with you and discuss matters herein contained, however I have been unable to secure an appointment to see you despite very many attempts."

2. Appointments have been made in NNPC without proper consultation: Under normal circumstances, every major appointment made in the NNPC should be subject to approval by the board. But this hasn't been the case. Kachikwu in his letter said that he finds out about appointments and re-postings in the NNPC the same time as every other Nigerian - on the pages of newspapers and on social media, despite being the boss at NNPC.

He further said this has been the case since Dr Baru resumed as NNPC GMD. Wrote Kachikwu:

"Indeed in anticipation of vacancies that would arise from retiring senior executives of NNPC, I wrote the GMD a letter requesting that we both have prior review of the proposed amendments. This was to enable me present same to the Board or give an anticipatory approval and then review with the Board later (Appendix 1). I wrote to the GMD given previous happenstances of this nature. In addition, thereafter, I called the GMD to a private meeting where I discussed these issues. Needless to say that, not only did he not give my letter the courtesy of a reply, he proceeded to announce the appointments without consultation or Board concurrence."

3. Over $25 billion worth of contracts have been awarded without following due process: According to Kachikwu, in the over one year Dr Baru has served as NNPC GMD, no contract has been run through the board. This is in spite of the fact that the legal and procedural requirement of contract awarding is that contracts worth over $20 million would need to be reviewed and approved by the Board of NNPC.

Kachikwu went on to list a number of contracts totaling $25 billion which were awarded by the NNPC Tenders Board which GMD, Dr Baru heads that flouted the $20 million mark.

The contracts include:

- The Crude Term contracts - value at over $10 billion

- The DSDP contracts - value at over $5bn

- The AKK pipeline contract - value approximately $3bn

- Various finacing allocation funding contracts with the NOCs - value over $3bn

- Various NPDC production service contracts - value at over $3bn -$4bn

4. GMD attends meetings at will:
Collaborative meetings are important in every organisation to chart a course, and the NNPC is no different. It is to this end that Kachikwu, in his letter, said he instituted Monthly Parastatal meetings with Heads of Agencies, and another with the Senior Management in all Parastatals.

However, Kachikwu said the GMD objected to his senior staff attending the Joint Senior Management meetings on the ground that "this was over reaching his territory".

Kachikwu went on to say that Baru barely attends the monthly Heads of Agencies meetings, and in other cases, sends "subordinates without the courtesy of a call to explain his absence". He also added that since 2017, he has only had about 4 or 5 one-on-one meetings with Baru.

5. Fear culture in NNPC: According to Kachikwu, "the effect of the attitude of the GMD and the sidelining of the Board is that there is a fear culture in NNPC".

He went on to say that the open administration which he introduced with President Buhari's support has been eroded and that "NNPC staff are afraid of contacting me to avoid being punished, sidelined in appointments and targeted."
