'During The Inspection Tour to NYSC Camp Kubwa Abuja.
I took out time today to diligently do the step by step inspection of facilities, the kind of food serves to the corps members, the medical facilities available, the drugs made available to them and also the quality of the service in that regard, their hostels and also the kind of beds provided, their sanitary environment and all that involves their wellbeing.
It was an exercise that has sufficiently equipped me with first knowledge different from a 2nd or 3rd party information. I have noted areas of genuine concerns and we shall treat them with the immediate priority they deserved'.
He also said anybody who said NYSC should be scrapped is short sighted. He described the calls for scrapping of NYSC as sheer beer parlor talk.He said this while addressing the 2016 Batch ‘B’ Youth Corps Members posted to the Federal Capital Territory on Monday at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Kubwa. He called on the youth corpers not to believe the “beer parlour gossips in the social media" that Buhari was about to scrap the scheme.
“The NYSC ranks high in the priority of President muhammadu Buhari, therefore, the present administration is taking steps to improve the scheme because the programme is so dear to the President.
He described those calling for the scrapping of the scheme as short sighted, saying their advocacy was capable of leading to derailment of Nigeria’s corporate unity.Dalung also submitted that the NYSC scheme had grown to become the backbone of Nigeria’s national unity, adding that "it has also created and fostered progressive relationships among youths from diverse cultures across the country that cannot be taken for granted."

Literature › Re: Soyinka Threatens To Exit Nigeria by Legend87(m): 8:44am On Dec 06, 2016 |
Buyeradvertcom: Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has threatened to exit Nigeria as a response to the media harassment to which Nigerians have subjected him.
Speaking to reporters today at a media event held at Freedom Park on Lagos Island, Mr. Soyinka, winner of the 1986 Nobel Prize for literature, said he was embarrassed to share a country with some "imbeciles and morons."
He said, "I should not be exiting the United States but Nigeria because the people on behalf of whom one has struggled all one’s life can be so slavish in mentality as to start querying the right of their champion to free speech."
He continued, "I am embarrassed to occupy the same space as some imbeciles and morons," adding that the exit from Nigeria can be "internal" or "external".
Mr. Soyinka, a retired professor from Obafemi Awolowo University and numerous universities in the U.K. and US, also threatened to move the residency of his foundation, the Wole Soyinka Foundation, out of Nigeria and dared anybody to criticize his decision.
"If the board agrees," he said, "I will move the residency of my foundation out of the country," he said.
He added that on the inauguration of the US president-elect, Donald Trump, he would hold a private funeral wake to mourn the death of common sense in Nigeria.
The Nobel laureate expressed irritation at many Nigerians who had taken to the social media to criticize his comment to leave the United States of America and tear his green card after Mr. Trump was declared winner in the November 8, 2016 presidential election in the US.
He said, "We worked to make sure the least important person in our society enjoys freedom of expression. When I decide to take this same action [use his freedom of speech], I don’t want people whom we have fought for to enjoy freedom of expression to start all kinds of vulgar and stupid commentaries.
"Barbarians have taken over this community using the anonymity, most of the time, of the Internet to sit somewhere and start writing rubbish, questioning the right of people like me to express ourselves."
Mr. Soyinka said Nigerians have no right to question his decision to leave the US.
"What is the business of any stupid Nigerian to open his or her mouth to challenge my right? Did you get the green card for me? The arrogance of some Nigerians is overwhelming, and I don’t interfere, so how dare you interfere with me?" he said.
He asked, “Why do Nigerians wail louder than the bereaved?”
Mr. Soyinka said he never wanted the American green card, but was given one by former President Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States, which caused him to christen the document "Jimmy Carter's card."
He said, "I call my green card Jimmy Carter’s card because he got it for me and, as a matter of fact, I did not ask for it."

Education › Ten Things You Don't Know About Laughter. by Legend87(op): 8:33pm On Dec 05, 2016 |
1. Rats are ticklish Want to see a rat laugh? Then tickle it. Rats laugh, chimps laugh and so do dogs. But rats aren't laughing at jokes. They laugh when they're playing, in the same way humans do, to show that they're happy and to encourage bonding. The rats that played more, laughed more. And the ones that laughed more preferred to be around other rats that laughed. This is evidence that human laughter has evolved from play vocalisation, a behaviour seen in many other mammals. In humans, laughter has developed into an important emotional expression, used throughout many channels of communication. Think of the ways we try to convey laughter in text based media, like smileys and LOLs. 2. Laughter isn't about jokes Ask adults what makes them laugh, and most will tell you it's jokes and humour. But they would be wrong. Robert Provine, a psychologist from the University of Maryland found that we actually laugh most when talking to our friends. In fact we're 30 times more likely to laugh at something when we are with other people. Intriguingly, within these conversations, we are still not laughing at jokes: we laugh at statements and comments that do not seem on the face of them to be remotely funny. It's a form of communication, not a reaction. The science of laughter is telling us that laughter is less to do with jokes and more a social behaviour which we use to show people that we like them and that we understand them. 3. Your brain can tell the difference between deliberate and helpless laughter In my lab we see the importance of laughter in our brain imaging studies. We compared staged laughter with the real thing. Not only does your brain automatically tell the difference, but listening to staged laughter produces greater activity in an area called the anterior medial prefrontal cortex. It's known to be involved in understanding other people's emotions. It shows that we automatically try to comprehend someone's deliberate laughs, even when not instructed to do so. 4. Laughter is catching Our brain scans also reveal that laughter is contagious. Even when someone is having their brain scanned, which is not really very funny, you can see their brain responding to the laughter by preparing their facial muscles to join in. And the more that someone shows a contagious response to laughter, the better they are at telling whether a laugh is real or forced. This seems to suggest that joining in when you hear laughter is more than just contagion - it may be helping you to understand what that laughter means. 5. People you know are funnier The fact that laughter encourages laughter is why an MC at a comedy club will spend a lot of time warming up the audience and keeping the energy high between acts. But familiarity and our own expectations are still often at the heart of laughter. People find jokes funnier if they think they were told by a famous comedian. "Two snowmen are standing in a field. One says to the other: 'Funny, I can smell carrots too'." - even on paper it's funnier when you think it's coming from Jimmy Carr rather than Jamie Oliver. 6. Laughter doesn't make you fitter The internet is full of claims that laughter is great for your health. It's sadly not true however that laughter burns more calories than going for a run. Although laughing does raise energy expenditure and heart rate by about 10-20%, this is on the order of burning an extra 10-40 calories for every 10-15 minutes laughing. You would have to laugh solidly for up to three hours to burn off a packet of ready salted crisps. 7. Relationships last longer when you laugh Berkeley psychologist Prof Bob Levenson asked couples to discuss something about their partner that annoyed them - a touchy subject. The couples that used laughter and smiling not only felt better immediately but also reported higher levels of satisfaction in their relationship, and stayed together for longer. This shows us that laughter is an emotion that we can use with those with whom we are emotionally close, to make ourselves feel better. This is critical to our enjoying a happy mood - but maybe even more important when circumstances are making us feel bad. Just before my father's funeral service started, I can remember saying something solely to try and make my mother laugh, to get us on track before everything kicked off. And it worked. Laughter may help us measure the health of not just people, but the relationships between people - a way of looking at our social interactions and the effects they have on us. 8. Laughter requires precise timing In conversations, people time their laughter to occur very precisely at the ends of sentences. Even people speaking in sign language do this - despite the fact that they could laugh throughout their "silent" conversation if they wished to. I'm intrigued by how comedians co-ordinate the responses to their routines from the stage. It's also difficult to learn to have the confidence to leave a pause for the audience to laugh, and to cope if they don't. Comedians are very sensitive to the way that laughter can grow and fade in a room, and leaving a space for laughter to happen at all is a real skill. Kiri Pritchard-Mclean, a stand-up comedian who also teaches comedy, points out: "It takes a lot of confidence to stand on a stage and do nothing while the audience laugh - and it is hard to learn to come back in at the right point - not to trample on the laughter or wait too long and lose the momentum of the room." 9. Laughter is attractive Can you really laugh someone into bed? One study of personal ads found that both men and women specified a sense of humour more frequently than intelligence, education, profession or sexual drive. Another found that we rate strangers as more attractive if they laugh at our jokes. 10. Some things are almost guaranteed to make you laugh No comedian has found THE joke that's universally and timelessly amusing. But when trying to make people laugh in my lab I've found some things work better than others. One of the best tools are clips of people trying to not to laugh in situations where laughter is highly inappropriate. The classic example is Charlotte Green attempting to read the news live on BBC Radio 4 whilst desperately trying to suppress fits of giggles. |

LifeDrama: The first division Chapecoense football team was among the 72 passengers and nine crew on board the plane when it crashed around 10:15pm (local time) on Monday after reporting electrical issues.
There were reports of at least six survivors being found before rescue operations were suspended due to heavy rain in the crash site, in a mountainous area near the international airport in the city of Medellin.
"Tonight it was reported that a plane coming from Viru Viru airport in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, which should have landed at Jose Maria Cordova, airport had gone off course," a Colombian rescue official, Mauricio Parodi, earlier told reporters.
Authorities and rescuers were immediately activated but poor weather conditions made the crash site only accessible only by road.
"It's a tragedy of huge proportions," Medellin's Mayor Federico Gutierrez Gutierrez told Blu Radio on his way to the site.
The South American soccer federation cancelled all activities until further notice as a result of the crash.
The CONMEBOL federation said in a statement that its president, Alejandro Dominguez, was on his way to Medellin.
The Chapecoense team had been due to face Atletico Nacional of Medellin in the first leg of Wednesday's Sudamericana final, South America's equivalent of the Europa League.
It was the first time the small club from Chapeco had ever reached the final of a major South American club competition but they were underdogs against a club going for a rare double after winning the Copa Libertadores in July.
In a statement on its Facebook page, Chapecoense said "may God accompany our athletes, officials, journalists and other guests traveling with our delegation".
The team said it would refrain from any further statements until it had fully evaluated the extent of the crash.

OP the Bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you...Draw near to God and He will to you. There is no church or Omega Power deliverance for everything there. Also, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God and Christ says 'Sanctify them with Your truth, Thy word is truth'...that's why I said read the Gospels and pray.
