The Police SPU which was created with the sole aim of protecting VIPs, Companies, Special Items and posting of orderlies for popular individuals in the country has been in existence since 2011 and comprises of more than one third of the strength of the Nigerian police. Secret Reporters in this exclusive investigation obtained information on how the Inspector General of Police have been pocketing billions of Naira from revenues generated from SPU personnel posted as orderlies to top individuals for their protection. In 2011, owing to a directive establishing the SPU by the police so many personnel including those attached to government houses were absolved and mobilized into the SPU even without training, in a bid to generate funds. The first set comprised of 3000 SPU personnel with the number now more than one third of the strength in Nigeria Police. This is as a result of the fact that since the SPUs generate a lot of money, even if you need 10, 20 or 30 SPUs as long as you can pay they will be attached to you.

A police officer who claims anonymity also revealed to our reporters that, after the payment made by the individuals who request for special protection at the SPU office, they sometimes, at the end of the day gain nothing as the commanders also slash their pay and every other thing goes...

A Federal Lawmaker representing Michika/Madagali at national Assembly, Honourable Adamu Kamale says that the Senator representing Adamawa Central senatorial zone, Abdulaziz Nyako assaulted him at the Yola international airport.

Kamale while narrating his ordeal in a Press statement issued to Journalist in Yola said how unthinkable is it for internally displaced persons (IDPs) relief materials to be shared in his constituency (Madagali) and he will not be represented but only to be assaulted when he made effort to witness the distribution.

The statement read that :

“Following the unfortunate incidence on bomb blast explosions at Madagali Local Government which is one of the local government in my constituency, the Governor of Adamawa State together with other well meaning Nigerians including members of the National Assembly solicited for relief materials from the National Emergency Agency (NEMA) for the people of Madagali. “As the Honourable member representing the area, I personally called on the director General of NEMA earlier on Monday the 20th of November, 2017 to ensure the delivery of the relief materials. Arrangements were made and all the stakeholders including Senator Abdulaziz Nyako who is the Chairman committee on IDPs /NEMA in the Senate to deliver the relief materials. Air commodore Ohemu was assigned by NEMA to supervise the delivery.

A Helicopter was arranged by the Air force to convey some of the stakeholders to where the materials is to be distributed on Wednesday, 21st November, 2017 by 9am. I was billed to travel on board the helicopter with Senator Abdulaziz Nyako, Air commodore Ohemu and others.

It’s on record that when the house was built, the incumbent governor was more or less a baby and as such, it’s ridiculous that he’s the one sanctioning its sales. The 7-Storey building is valued at N6 billion, but it’s been sold off by the governor at an absolutely ridiculous rate of N987 million which is less than a quarter of the valued price.

The said buyer has immediately commenced renovation and reconstruction of the entire building illegally sold by the governor. The decision to sell of the house was not discussed by the State Executive Committee, neither was it advertised for bidding to prospective buyers nor published for the public to take notice and show interest as demanded by law. The constant electricity supply enjoyed by residents of Asaba for over two months following Delta State Government intervention has suddenly become elusive through the work of two Delta born billionaires, Secret Reporters has learnt.

We gathered from informed sources that the near twenty four hours light provided in Asaba has unsettled petroleum dealers and petrol station owners within the locality, as they no longer sell their product unlike before. Before Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa’s plea to Benin Electricity Development Commission (BEDC), Asaba residents were living in perpetual darkness and spending millions on petrol and diesel to power their generating set for hours, which yielded enough profit to the dealers.

Miffed by the steady supply of electricity, sources confided in Secret Reporters that the biggest losers were Gabriel Ogbeche who own Rain Oil and Sylvester Ukwandi who owns Anioma Petroleum and currently in charge of supplying the diesel to power Asaba street lights. They allegedly teamed up with their union to sabotage the electricity supply.

A source who works with BEDC revealed that the Rain Oil boss and Anioma Petroleum oil magnate allegedly went to BEDC where they parted with millions of Naira to one Millicent Ossai, who’s in charge of the commission to stop the supply of electricity to Asaba and put them in darkness. Another contending issue is the failing of the final promotion examination twice by Buhari’s State Chief of Protocol, Lawal Kazaure.
