krissconnect:t-fare is cheaper in Abuja bros unless you wanna take drop. Abuja is saner compared to Lagos really but I might be choosing Lagos because of opportunities. But sincerely if you have an opening in Abuja, it is better. |
GoroTango:you're the one spewing rubbish and calling for tribal vultures. Can't you just congratulate the lad and move on? Or perphaps wait till anyone attacks first. You have conceded defeat even with your statement, miracle centers in the south? Isn't this analysis enough proof that you have been beefing all this while that candidates from South have been emerging. There is no point even arguing with you. I don't share the opinion that where you come from determines your brain, but it is not our fault that your leaders prefer to keep the bulk of your populace uneducated |
Good morning house, so the admin of this page @hidentity came to deliver a paper at the Nigerian law school Abuja on Thursday on career prospects for lawyers in Nigeria. Here are the few things I was able to pick when I joined in : 1. Hard work matters alot,. If you want to make it in the legal profession, you have to be hardworking and diligent to your work and you should also be alto work intelligently. In fact I heard tat if you can't read for 4hours right now, the legal profession is not for you. ![]() 2. That everything takes time. This is another important thing I also learnt that day that while it is normal to have expectations as humans, we ought to realise some things takes time to fall in place hence the dire need for lawyers to be patient and be prepared as opportunity can come knocking at anytime. 3 Importance of Networking can't be over emphasized in the legal profession. 4. Get yourself a mentor if you want to go far in the profession. 5. Chase discipline and hard work , the money will come knocking. It was nice experience anyway coupled with the smirk on your face when you know the person delivering the speech( Even though I never knew the Admin in person until that day) , I got to know from the last name and the firm's name. ![]() And yes I walked up to @hidentity and introduced myself as "XYZ from Nairaland" and pheeew.. .i got a business card .Moral: This world is really small like they say as I never even thought I could meet the admin in that way. |
Hope this helps those who are confused on career opportunities in law.

stevetyler:Coker commission set up by who? This is a man who was not convicted on so called corruption charge. I don't bootlick leaders reason I intentionally refrained from commenting on Tinubu like other average Nigerians but for you to come online to rubbish a man's whose legacies transcends your regional leaders both living and dead is way off it. In the western region, Awolowo gave us free education, Good roads, pipe borne waters as far back as late 50s, he was a brilliant, witty, and ideological fellow. Trying t use unsubstantiated claims fuelled by bigotry is cowardice. Majority of you will support Tinubu should he come from your state and be beating chest here and there. |
tiredoflife:You're a fool for speaking ill of the late sage Awolowo. I don't care where you're from but I hope it is not from the land of people who keeps running when no one is chasing. Mention one of your leader both past and present that achieved Awolowo's legacies. Some of your fathers are products of free education in the west, you're here spewing rubbish. |
NaijaMutant:You people are very ridiculous on here, 3years is so soon? To even think some of you can't do without having sex in 3weeks Nonsense. |
To be candid if I'm to go by this narration here, the indigenes are very wrong...the Hausas irrespective of shortcomings of some among them are Nigerians and I don't think it is right to ask them to sign a document if they have a legitimate business doing there. We have laws in this country too now ![]() |
Pharaoh001:Stop being delusional... .saudi government are as corrupt as Nigeria. The difference is they are reasonable and still maintain a human face unlike the wicked ones that have been ruling us. Saudi is an elitist country where oil money revolve around the Royal families. Many of Saudi billionaires cannot even explain their source of wealth other than from inheritance which they cloud in some businesses around the world. |

killfear:Hello learned brother, you sent me a PM but I can't access the email I'm using on Nairaland. Maybe we can talk off here. |
MDsambo:Stop spewing and playing the religion card here... What's going in Syria should be a concern to an reasonable human being and not because you're a Muslim or not. This is about interests not religion, President Assad and the major opposing rebels are they not Muslims or what are you saying? We are talking about a global politics you're saying something else. I just hope Russian government supporting Assad ain't doing just to counter the United States. I pity the civilians who are being use as pawn in this crazy superiority fight. |
Hidentity:I have received your mail sir, thanks a bunch for your selfless efforts.. I appreciate. |
tadarachael:Hope the remuneration is cool |
UDIOK:Yes Northern Nigeria has penal code, South has criminal code. The difference is more of nomenclature. |
Hidentity:i'm very sorry sir.. .the fault was from me from onset. I just realized the mail I'm using on Nairaland is not my email but old one. I apologize for the inconvenience. |

Skepticus:Stop your unnecessary rants about Nigerian Youths, what have you done in your personal capacity as a youth or when you wer a youth? You might haven't even lead an online protest through petition not to talk of physical one. Is Nigeria a sane one? Any youth protesting against the government in this our clime where there's no damn justice and respect for human lives does that at his/her own expense. Police will shoot you and nothing will happen. Stopping seating behind keyboards blaming youths as if you are better. |

Sudokudon: |
I'm sorry to say this but you took the most stupid decision there, his salary is haunting you? Is it the 6months that will kill you? People should stop bothering themselves with frivolities if you have a career to build. But what do I know? You're probably a rich kid who can get a job at will so no point thinking about unemployment. |
