They are using low salary payments as an excuse to be corrupt and not disciplined, but they can afford buying colos. Funniest thing is instead of Nigerians youth to hold the accountable for their actions, they are also making excuses for them using low salary, which enhance the police to be more corrupt. Until our youths start stepping up, judging and holding them responsible individually for wrong ful act, instead of making excuses. Nothing will change

CrimeRe: Man Share His Experience Living In The Same Compound With Yahoo Guys by Lekan239(m): 9:11pm On Apr 24
Sirchiboy:
It is absolutely dangerous that you, as a legitimate businessman, are living in a Yahoo-infested compound sometimes even more dangerous than it is for the Yahoo boys themselves.

Now listen carefully… you are actually more at risk. Your life and your family are more at risk than theirs.

Why? Because they already know the life they are into fraud, crime, drugs, and all sorts of illegal activities. But you, who is not part of it, can easily be implicated in everything they are doing.

Let me share something with you.
I once lived in a Yahoo-infested compound, and one of the main reasons I packed out was because their lifestyle did not align with mine.

After a long day of producing paint, working on POP, and inhaling all sorts of chemicals my job is physically demanding I come back home at night to rest and spend time with my wife.

But that is exactly when they start their own activities: loud music, immoral conversations, shouting, parties everywhere… disturbing the entire compound.

And when you try to confront them, they become aggressive. Many of them are violent, some are touts educated or not, the truth is, most of them lack respect and basic morals. It became a serious problem for me.

Even during the day, you see them openly smoking without care for who is around them. Whether you are comfortable or not does not matter to them.

Now beyond the mental stress and lifestyle clash, let me tell you one of the biggest dangers.

After I moved out of that compound, about four months later, men from the State CID stormed the place. They arrested most of the Yahoo boys there.

But guess what?

Two innocent people were also arrested. One was a trader, the other an engineer into construction both legitimate businessmen. They had nothing to do with fraud.

Yet, they were detained for over two weeks.
Even after investigations proved they were clean, the police tagged them as accomplices.

Their “offense”? They lived in the same compound and allegedly failed to report suspicious activities.

Before they could regain their freedom, they had to bail themselves with about ₦200,000.

Imagine suffering for something you know nothing about.

That is the reality.

When trouble comes, it doesn’t ask who is guilty or innocent it hits everyone around.
In fact, it can even hit you harder than those involved, because you are not mentally or financially prepared for it like they are.

Now, I’m not saying every Yahoo boy is loud or troublesome. Some are calm you might not even know what they do.

But when you find yourself in a compound heavily dominated by them especially young, hot-headed ones constantly throwing parties and causing chaos it is a serious risk to your safety and peace of mind.

I know some people will come for me in the comments or even my DM I’m used to that. But I don’t care.

I’m saying this for your own good
Before you move into any apartment, do a proper background check. Know who your neighbors are.
Don’t become a victim of circumstances.
believe me that 2 guys that was arrested and not released definitely are into shady deals too, maybe they are also into the same yahoo but they are still working daily jobs, there yahoo have nit really pay, but tgere are discriminating materials on there phone that is why they were not released. In those sort of raiding, the police wont even carry you along with tge boys, if they met you responsible, no drugs, they check your phone at hom and no yahoo materials on it. So do not think they are innocent like you claim

I would never understand why accountability is almost alien to the average Nigerian. Which sometimes explains why the politicians bend them over.

Someone that:

1. Used another person's image to forge an airline ticket.
2. Used same persons image on a billboard in the busiest road in Awka to advertise his product. Same product the reviewers have claimed is defrauding them.
3. Claimed on live video to have paid same person 500m to be his ambassador.

The victim of all these went to the police to make a report (as he lawfully should). But the aggressor declined all invitations at multiple attempts. He was eventually arr3sted and TAKEN TO COURT, where the presiding judge sent him to prison.

Yet, some are spinning it that the victim is the oppressor. Make it make sense.

Please before you quote me, make sure to approach with material facts, and not ifs and buts.

Yes Buhari did not make provisions for the continious payment of subsidies. Is there not room to seek extra budgetary approval to continue payments till december? Is it not a logical request? Does it not look like the sane thing to be done? What if it was a trap Buhari set for Tinubu and he cluelessly fell for it and has been handed over the tag of the worst Nigerian President, a medal Buhari would have held.

Good you acknowleged the TSA issue. You also said ONLY TIME will tell....

We dont even know... We are not even sure

Kaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
yes you are right, The president can seek extra extra budgetary approval from the national assembly legally, so it was possible for tinubu to ask for more time.

But the problem was, the subsidy system was already broken, dont let us stand pretending that we all didnt know it was back then. The country was already in chaos then, black market everywhere selling costlier, fuel scarcity, smuggling everywhere. Even if Tinubu had gotten approval for six more month, what would that have solved? The same problem would have come back in December, probably even worst self. Tinubu choses to rip off the bandage instead of pulling it slowly. That was his choice. You can disagree with it. But calling it clueless is ignoring the fact that the system had already collapsed.

On if its a trap set by buhari, you are also right, that is a fair suspicion. Many Nigerians have said the same thing. Buhari's government left a time bomb. They knew the subsidy had to be removed. They knew it would cause pain. But they left it for the next person to do. So Tinubu inherited a mess and had to clean it up. If he had delayed, people would have said he was weak... Now because he acted immediately, people say he was reckless. Either way, he would still be criticized. But the point is, the trap existed because Buhari failed to deal with it for eight years. Tinubu walked into it, yes I know. But he also started fixing it.

Does that mean we should feel better today? No. The pain is still real. But waiting does not mean sitting and hoping. It means watching to see if the numbers keep improving. If they don't, then the criticism is fully justified. But the numbers are all improving. Inflation has started coming down, the naira has stabilise and even gain value in 2025. Government revenue is up. Foreign debt is down

The uncertainty is frustrating. The pain is real. But blaming Tinubu for removing a system that was already dead is not fair. He could have done it better? Maybe. But the old way was not working. Something had to change. Let us wait and see if the change leads to something better. If it doesn't, we can all say I told you so. But giving up now is not the answer. Fuel was already down to aroud 700 750 earlier this year and was expected to go more downward if not for the recent world crisis going on.

There could have been better ways to cut a wound, not coming on inauguration day to scream SUBSIDY IS GONE and plunging this once great nation into poverty depths. This is the same thing Buhari did with TSA. All of them trying to sound woke at the detriment of our well being. Things could be done in phases....Buhari paid subsidies till July. A man with sense with seek extra budgetary approvals to pay till even setptember or december knowing how critical fuel is to all spheres of life. A man trying to sound woke just cluelessly proclaimed SUBSIDY IS GONE, loosing grip of his steering. Till date he has not recovered.

And waiting for the reforms to produce result, how long should we wait? Have they given a timeline? or we are trying our luck
u are angry, I understand. But you are mixing up how u feel about the announcement with the economic fact of the situation.

You said he shoukd have removed it in phases, but you forgot by the time Tinubu gave his speech, the previous govts has already removed subsidy from the budget, the 2023 budget signed and passed by president buahari had no provision for fuel subsidy payment after June 2023 bcus the givt was legally unable to pay for it again. I'm not speaking based on what I hear others saying, I am speaking solely based on the realty and fact, u can go confirm. The 2023 budget has no provision for fuel subsidy after june 2023, so the removal was not sudden, it was already removed even before tinubu take over government in june, Tinubu just announced it for all. I can remember 2023 January, we were all expecting and waiting for the subsidy removal, we were all planning towards it. Have you forgotten so easily

A phased removal only works if the government can afford to pay for the phase. Nigeria couldn't. They where owening NNPC trillons of naira through subsidy payment that NNPC coukdbt even imprt fuel again, which causes petrol scarcity everywhere and the fuel was alreadybselling at 600 to 700 per liter in the blcak market. The announcement was the result of a previous government's failure, not the cause of the crisis.

The TSA was about making government spending more transparent and stopping corruption. That was a good policy, but you are right that it was implemented in a way that caused hardship. The banking sector was hard hit, and many businesses struggled as a result. The lesson here is that even good policies can cause massive pain if they are implemented without a proper planning.

You said how long shoukd we wait, yes, this is your strongest question. Thhough the govt has not given a clear timeliness, but the economist amd international bodies have.
The IMF projects that the economy will grow by 4.4% in 2026.
The Economist recently reported that after nearly three years of pain, Nigeria's economy may be back from the brink
The annual inflation rate, which hit a 30-year high in late 2024, has been falling, and the naira has stabilized

Normally economic reforms is never easy, u face real pain in the first 18 to 24months, and then the positive effect arr supposed to start showing.

So you are not wrong to be angry about the pain. The economic data shows that poverty has risen and the cost of living is high. But the cause of that pain is not the announcement of the subsidy removal. The cause is the 30 years of bad policy that led to that moment. The current government is trying to fix those problems, and the early data suggests it might be working. Only time will tell. But at least the country is finally trying a different path.

Nigeria needs divine intervention if it got this terrible in 3 years.
I can go all day with factual explanation, trying to make you see through reality the way I see it, tjough I know that wont change anything. But I want you to listen:

I am not saying Tinubu is perfect. I am not saying the pain is not real. Inflation is high. Many people are suffering. But blaming Tinubu for removing a broken system is like blaming a doctor for cutting open a wound to clean it. The cut hurts. But the infection was already there.

Let us wait and see if the reforms produce results. If they don't, we can all complain together. But giving up after two to three years is not the answer

1. A few set of persons getting dollars and favors: Tinubu has a few persons, 35 in number called governors who received trippled allocations with very little to show for them. Allow me call them cabals as you guys please to call. Buhari's cabal favored the masses as life was affordable. Tinubu's cabal is the worst ever in this country because they loot what is received except for a few like Enugu and Abia governors. This allocation seems like it was used to force them to the APC. The masses prefer Buhari's cabal please. This one NA SCAM

2. So to you now, the current value of the Naira is the true value abi. Tell me if Subsidy is evil as you people are painting it to be now. I am yet to know why a government intervention will be termed as evil. A failed government just looking for where to hide their cluelessness. Nigeria under Tinubu has the worst inflation figures in the entire west africa

3. Give Tinubu 16 years as President, Nigeria will be worse than south sudan

let me give you a small example. I used to buy goods from Lagos market. But the middlemen were eating my profit. So I decided to start importing directly. It was the right decision. But for the first full year, my money was tighter than when I was buying locally. I struggled. I almost went back. But I stayed with it, and now things are getting better. That is what a transition period looks like. If I, one small business person, can face a tough transition when I change a bad policy that was keeping me stagnant, how much more a whole country of over 200 million people? You cannot judge Tinubu's policy by only the first two to three years of pain. You have to give it time. The old way was already failing. At least this new way has a chance. Those people you are glamorous for to take over where also once past leaders of this same country. And even if they where not even past leaders, they can't perform a magic. WOW. You are also blaming Tinubu for the incompetence of Govornors now?. You have forgotten under the Nigeria constitution, the president cannot remove a govornor, they did not report to the president, he did not elect them, he cannot question them, and he cannot fire them. If a govornor is failing, blame the people of that state who elected him. You cannot hold the president responsible for the choices of 35 seperate state government. That is not how democracy works.

Now let's check some of ur claims that you mebtion against the fact.

On the allocation aspect, you are right state allocation have increased drastically and local government now received allocation directly, that is kudos to Tinubu government, though some govornors are failing to show result. But you are wrong that everyone prefers Buhari's era. That system had a hidden subsidy that made a few connected people rich. Many Nigerians are struggling now because the government is finally removing those old systems. It's painful, but it's not a scam. It's a necessary change.. I'm not in support of any party, but I can see good system when I see one, and I hoped for it to work.

You're right that Nigeria's inflation is the highest in West Africa right now, I agree. That is a fact. But you're wrong to say the old subsidy system was a good thing. That system was not helping the masses. It was a machine for corruption. And the Naira you see today is its real market value. The old fixed rate was a lie.

On Tinubu and South Sudan, That is your opinion, not a fact. South Sudan is the poorest country in the world. Nigeria is not there, and there is no evidence it will get there. You can disagree with Tinubu's policies, but that statement is just an exaggeration

So let's just be honest. The economy is hard we know. Inflation is also high. But the problems we face today are the result of decades of bad policies, not just the last two years. Removing the fake exchange rate and the fuel subsidy was always going to cause pain. The question is whether that pain will lead to something better. That is what we are waiting to see. That is what I'm waiting to see.

Feel free to quote me anytime.

gidgiddy:
Its not hard to understand, tribal sentiments, religious affiliation and personal interests explains it all
Yes, it is true that many Nigerians still support APC because of tribal sentiments, religious affiliation, and personal interests. That is not a lie. Some people will support Tinubu just because he is from the South-West. Some Christians will not vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket. Some people get contracts, appointments, or small cash gifts from APC politicians. So they will support APC no matter what.

But that is not the full truth. The same thing happens on the other side too. Opposition supporters also stick to their own candidates because of tribe, religion, or personal interest. Many people who support Peter Obi do so because he is from their tribee. Many who support Atiku do so because he is Fulani. So you are pointing a finger at APC while ignoring that your own side does the same thing. That is hypocrisy.

You are also blinded by your own bias. That is why you cannot see what Tinubu is actually doing.

He removed the fuel subsidy that was stealing money from all of us for years. He stopped the government from fixing the dollar rate, which was a hidden subsidy that made a few people rich while the rest of us suffered. Under his watch, the naira gained value for the first time in 13 years. Government revenue went up. Foreign debt went down.

Does that mean everything is perfect? No. Inflation is high. Many people are struggling. But change was never going to be easy after eight years of Buhari hiding the problems.

You call it incompetence. I call it facing the truth. The problem is you have already chosen your side. So no matter what Tinubu does, you will call it bad. That is not analysis. That is just politics and sides. Exactly what you accused APC supporters of doing.
PoliticsRe: Borrowing Jumped From N87tn Under Buhari to N200tn Under Tinubu — Peter Obi by Lekan239(m): 9:58am On Apr 15
Didijiji:
so this Tinubu economics and Buharis own which is better

I mean the economics of a stronger naira like you mentioned against the loss value caused by Tinubu
let me ask you a question. which is better between: Govt subsidising the dollar using our naira, fixing the exchange rate using subsidy and creating official rate and parallel rate, allowing only few set of people who have connections who can get dollars at cheap officials price, take the dollar to the black market and sell at parallel market rate. The buhari system only reward those set of people and they are just 0.1percent of Nigeria's population.

When Tinubu came, he floated the naira, and allow the market to decide its true rate, removing the corrupt practice done by the few who can assess dollar cheap and sell high. This allow the naira to attain its real value and it fall drastically and attain its real value. So its the market that determines the value of the naira now, not the government.

So the question u ask me is still for you to decide. Here is a way to think about it.

If you believe that a stable but fake number is better, and you could tolerate a system that was broken and corrupt, then you might prefer the Buhari era. The pain was slow and grinding, and the true cost was hidden.

If you believe that facing a painful truth head-on is the only way to build a real and better future, then Tinubu's economics is better. He has taken a huge gamble. He caused immediate, severe pain to fix a problem that Buhari ignored for eight years. But the early signs the naira's first annual gain in over a decade, the jump in government revenue, the export boom are the first green shoots of a potentially healthier economy.

No one can say for sure if Tinubu gamble will pay off. But if Nigeria keeps bringing on leaders who refuse to make painful but necessary changes, the country will remain stuck in the same cycle. Tinubu's approach, for all its current hardship, at least offers a different path.

Tinubu has come to steal, kill and destroy Nigeria.

He Must be sent Packing next year.
lol, If we compare Tinubu’s borrowing with Buhari’s, it’s not as simple as saying one is just borrowing more.
During Buhari’s time, the naira was stronger against the dollar, around 750 to 800 naira per $1. Now it is around 1,360 per $1. So if Nigeria owes, for example, $1 billion, the amount in naira terms will automatically look much bigger today even if the dollar amount has not increased. That is because the naira has lost value, not necessarily because more money was borrowed.
Also, since Tinubu came in, there have been several major spending commitments. Student loans were introduced, salaries were increased for police, teachers, military, and NYSC members, and some outstanding arrears for doctors were paid. There are also more federal road projects going on compared to previous years, and state allocations have increased significantly, in some cases two to three times higher.
All these things require a lot of money.
So the question is, where is the government getting the funds from to cover all these expenses? It is not like the money is coming from nowhere.

🤣😂🤣😂

My experience through thick’s and thins, and war and peace has instilled in me that, doers don’t make noise!

They just love the attention when they fake toughness!

Trying to fake toughness like he is going to deploy a nuke 😂🤣😂🤣.

Real soldiers don’t fall for that crap! Trump should stop talking and get to work if he means business!
the difference between Russia, china and the USA is that, USA is ready to destroy the world, or destroy a civilisation, kill a president, change a regime using all means possible. But Russia and china still play safely want world peace not threatening to destroy civilisation
