I have found nairaland forum a very fertile land for topics and issues that could recreate a gretaer Nigeria but what do u get, crass stupidity in response to issues. Politics / Re: Kwakwanso’s Insult On Yoruba Elders Will Not Go Unanswered: femi Fani-kayode by lekandauda1234: 11:41pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
Let me start by asserting my yorubaness, if there is any word like that, my username says a lot about who i am and if you prefer you can check my profile. Firstly i will like to point out that what dialogue has not achieved war can never never get it done. What Mr Kwankwaso suggested in his presentation is the best solution to the situation we have found ourselves today. I belong to a society (THE INNER CIRCLE) in my university days in ibadan and our creed is "by chance u are made brothers but by choice u make friends" we are here in this geographic entity Nigeria and it is our choice to make it work. Within a family there are several variations of the same genetic composition and hence no two individuals behave the same way. Can we then go ahead to do a forensic analysis of the peace or otherwise that exist within the family. The most apropriate answer is compromise. How this is then achieved can best be attributed to education. Let me take the issue of peace. The man has thru education both formal or otherwise realize that the other man is his other half and the best thing to do is to accept him with both flaws and otherwise. In the case of the other side of peace, thru education both formal or informal he has taken a stand that maybe detrimental to the society and that is his belief except something very concrete is done to correct this. Now going back to Mr Fani Kayodes fanning of war to correct the excess of the fulani cattle rearers, does 2 wrongs make a right, has war ever ever settle any dispute, please observe the recent uprising about Biafra. With war u only conquer people but you dont change thier passion and passion is like a festering wound it will be there for ever. Its quite easy to fan the embers of war on the pages of newspaper but the consequencies is more devastating than what one can ever thought of. Serving as a youth corper in old Imo state in 1990 the impact of 1966-1970 civil war was still very evident. Yoruba has a saying "eni ija oba lonperae lokurin" translated literarily means its you thst have not seen war that clamours for it. If i may ask where was Mr Fani Kayode during the civil war, i bet he was well tucked away safe inthe UK. What he is insinuating now, if paraventure happens, he has visas for family and most especially his beautiful girlfriend with wish he elopes to a safe haven. Who bears d brunt? We the defenseless citizen. Secondly, he made reference to chief Olu Falaes kidnap. I am so glad that the perpetrators have been arrested and they all attested to the greed that fanned thier criminal intentions. I want to ask are there no criminals worse than this from other part of the country? From tnier confession they never knew who thier abductee was. It was thier greed that propelled them to carry pitthier nefarious activity. Now let us critically asses the root cause of all this kidnapping, cultisim, armed robbrey etc. Is it not because of the unnessary flouting of wealth by people who are suppose to set good example. How can one explain the unsatiable splash of Range Rover sport by an elderly man who is above 50 on a girl that is less than 30. How do you expect her peers who has just graduated from schools to think. You can not ever ever sow maize qnd expect to reap cassave. What you have sown shall ye reap. Billions of naira pillfered away by our leaders Mr Kayode inclusive could so well have bought Nigerian youths education that can make us distinguish between right and wrong. Now coming to the fulani herdsmen problem, i will lay a substantial blame to thier leaders in the north who instead of giving them education has preferred to retain the almajiri culture, but can we the yorubas blame God for situating us in this entity called Nigeria. No, its not by our choice but what can we do? With education and understanding we can peacefully coexist. I watched a documentary about cattle rearing in kenya where the cattle are reared on barley planted on virtual soil. This may sound so difficult but is achieveable. I am so sure what mrkwankwso istalking about is education that will foster a peaceful coexistence of Nigerian 4 Likes |

for the first time on this website, i can say i have seen an engagement of greta minds. I bet u,if most of us on this website can keep our engage as civil and issue oriented as done by posters of the first and second page of this post, very we going to have a Nigeria that will be good to us all. Let me tell the tribal warlords and other senseless posters, it is not by our choice that we found ourselves in this geographical contraption called Nigeria. Having found ourselves here, i think the most sensible thing to do is to contribute our quota in making the place better. I am for one united Nigeria. |

Classicalman:Sorry, let me educate you. In the first place when the missing dollar crises blew open, the minister for finance promised us "forensic audit" of NNPC books. What most Nigeria expected is a thorugh look into of the books and its very baffling that a company of PWC status will allow themselves to be used to cover a grevious sleaze. Its God working for Nigeria that made GEJ lost the election, else they have fooled themselves that a forensic audit has been done. I need to ask you, to what accounting purpose would that review which PWC themselves has placed a disclaimer be put? Let us avoid commenting on issue with blind sentiment 2 Likes |

cold:While agreeing that Gej did so well by not conscripting us to the Burundi situation but i want to point out that it very very late now to cry over split milk. Gej did so well to have conceeded defeat but could still have gone to the tribunal to at least test the victory of Gmb, if for nothing for posterity. The electoral act gave him 21 days after the declaration of result, he did not and now having seen how much he has lost to which Apc/Gmb is taking advantage of his total surrender he is now getting angry. Oga it is too late |
Politics / Re: Sticky Tales Around Diezani by lekandauda1234: 11:57am On Apr 30, 2015 |
I have some pertinent questions for the writer and @OP. Have you read through the PWC report? Have you seen the Nuhu Ribadus report on fuel subsidy? Did your madam submit her self to the constitutional backed probing of the house, she has no skeleton her cupboard? Have you converted the said amount $20billion into naira and thier extrapolate what impact such amount could have on common Nigerian in terms of infrastructure and wellbeing? You will agree with me that in every rumour there is a certain percentage of truth. If your sponsor knows that she is clean of this accusation then she does not need spending money on PR jobs like this. It will preposterous of anybody to suggest that a new govt about to be sworn into office to hear of these grevious sleaze in NNPC and sweep it under the carpet, most especially if you have the love of the downtrodden Nigerians like this new govt has in mind. 2 Likes |

Ofcourse, one can not really say all of the member of Apc are of high integrity, but a journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. With the expose on the pwc audit report and several other cases of blatant stealing of our commonwealth, i doubt if any sensible human will want us to continue with the present government. A very common saying is that when the head rotten the tail will definately not be ok. Mr Aribisala can never doubt the integrity of GMB as an anti corruption crusader and as the head of Apc govt all other s will behave so your ranting Mr Aribisala your ranting is that of a sore loser who is venting his anger by his vituperations. It is over acting to expect GMB to bring angels from heaven to come and do d cleansing of the rot that has been forced on us by pdp. You just have to say "we igbos" when you could simply say "nigerians". @topic. This write up is lace with bigotry and hate, I will advice the writer of this disjointed rubbish to accept the defeat of jonathan in goodfaith and move on. He is praising the pdp guys that conceded defeat and congratulated APC guys, but he himself is yet to accept the fact that his jonathan has been wiped so hard. Is kinda funny when these cry babies shout about underaged voters in the north and say nothing about the election fraud that happened in: • enugu(where one single void vote was not recorded) • rivers( where election didn't even take place and jonathan miraculously got 1.4million votes. • akwa ibom • delta state( where the number of accredited voters is the same with that of lagos state and about 75% of registered voters all voted in the just concluded presidential election. SMH Anyway is non of my business when some certain people choose to cry and wail about buhari's victory. As a leader the buck stops at your table. The blood of those killed in River state because of his desperation are crying for justice, not to talk of thousand killed bh because of his cluelessness or delibrate inaction exposed by his activity in the past six week.
