A budding blogger has shared his experience with a young man in his neighborhood who wants to become a yahoo boy. According to the man identified as Kennedy Prosper, the young man approached him and wanted to be like him, thinking he is into internet fraud. He then made him realise he has just opened a Yahoo Mail and all he needed was his guidance on how to connect the mail to his Nigerian bank account and start cashing out. …lol Read his post: One of my neighbor, old friend, town person or whatever came to me today and said He want to do the same yahoo which am doing to make money and that he don’t want to hustle again in the street, so he has just registered an account @Yahoo.com and he want me to guide him on how to earn with the Yahoo account, how to connect his bank account too so we can be doing yahoo together. I was like “Funke” Amodu must hear this (i just excused myself and find some rest because his questions got no answer). That he want to do Yahoo is not even my problem but the fact that he created an account at Yahoo.com weak my bone (i fainted like 3times and rose up again) Emi Blogger Blogger (am Not a Yahoo boy) Source: https://www.gistkit.com/naija-news/ive-just-opened-yahoo-mail-to-be-a-yahoo-boy-like-you-man-tells-blogger/

A student of the Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma, Edo State, has reportedly died shortly after his release from EFCC custody. According to reports, the 22-year-old student identified as Austin Isaiah, was allegedly wrongfully arrested by operatives of the agency and detained for about two months in their custody before regaining freedom. He was allegedly released because he fell sick while in the custody of the EFCC. It was gathered that he never survived it. He died on Monday, July 22, 2019, and his friends have taken to social media to express their sadness about his loss and bitterness against the anti graft agency. While reacting to the sad news, Nigerians decry the rate at which the citizens of the country are being maltreated by the constituted authorities and how living in Nigeria can be likened to living in hell “Living in Nigeria should be included in 1000 ways to die. Everything is trying to kill you from the moment you wake up till you sleep. If only the family and friends will sue EFCC joining the A.G. of the federation to get justice and not only get consolation online. This need to stop. My condolences” a social media wrote Source: https://www.gistkit.com/naija-news/aau-student-detained-by-efcc-allegedly-dies-after-release/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Seun Rocknation

An Enugu State High Court, controlled over by Justice K.I. Okpe on July 22, 2019 convicted a pension fraudster, Akpudili Anayo, to six years in jail for an N13million fraud. EFCC had accused Anayo with forgery, impersonation, conspiracy, and stealing. He had on April 8, 2019 pleaded “guilty” to the six counts favored against him when he was charged, and he was sentenced, accordingly. Anayo’s journey to prison started when the Enugu State government petitioned the EFCC alleging fraudulent transactions traced to him. The State Executive had on May 3, 2017, ordered that the May, June and July 2017 pension/salaries of the state pensioners and three other agencies of the state government be funded by cheques after physical verification. However, at the end of the verification task, it was exposed that the criminal who was an Ad-hoc staff for the verification exercise, in charge of the system estimating the names of the verified civil servants in the state, planned and used the bank accounts of three fake pensioners to turn funds designated for the pension and salaries of the civil servants in the 17 LGAs of Enugu State. A young lady couldn’t hide her joy as she shares her latest achievement on social media. Montoya Timaya expressed her happiness as she bags 3 degrees at 23 years despite the troubles she encountered along the journey. Timaya also recalled how she was pregnant during her course and later delivered twins. Her social media accounts are already full of congratulatory wishes as she wrote a long epistle to congratulate herself! Timaya wrote: ‼️*LONG POST ALERT*‼️ #23with3degrees I ALMOST GAVE UP! The Devil really had me. NOTHING could have prepared me for the journey that I’ve been through…Our program started off with 26 people and I am now 1 of 17 that will be graduating. 5 months after starting my graduate program I found out that I was pregnant. When I told my program director I was expecting he told me I should just take time off and come back next year because it was going to be too hard to finish the program with a baby and “nearly impossible” to do it with two. I went to class every single day literally until the day I gave birth. I was determined to finish. Only after a week of giving birth via c section I was back in class because i was told it was “unacceptable that I missed a week of school” Who would’ve known that for the next 15 months I would endure the hardest year of my life. Being a mother is hard enough but being a single mother to two kids while being a full time student and living away from family and friends literally having no physical support is a different type of hard. I did it all by myself I woke up at 5 AM to get my kids to daycare as soon as the doors opened to be at the hospital for rotations at 7 AM everyday and still being responsible for online classes. I’m glad my babies will never truly know the struggles Weve been through to make it to this point. From the day to day struggles of being a full time mom alone and I was the ONLY one taking care of my kids. My grades dropped DRASTICALLY and my anxiety went through the roof. I was so afraid of failing and losing everything and most importantly my kids. I honestly thought dropping out would be the best choice for me, but I knew I couldn’t let my kids down and I was only giving the devil what he wanted. I knew I would not only disappoint myself but everyone who was rooting for me. I worked so hard y’all , it was times I cried myself to sleep and asked God why was I alone. Why was I raising two kids alone with no family or friends here to support me while trying to put myself through school. I questioned God many times why was I going through so many trials and tribulations , why was my life so complicated, and why everywhere I turned it was something else drastically trying to stop me. But he had a plan for me, and WE made it! I persisted , I finished. I have achieved not one but TWO degrees with the help of my beautiful daughters for if it was not for them I have would have never pushed myself to finish. Thanks to my father and friends who although could not physically be there for me but gave me motivation when I was at my lowest point. Two years, two kids and TWO degrees later. By Gods grace… we didn’t just do it , WE MASTERED IT!!!! I am receiving my second bachelors in Cardiovascular Sonography and a Master’s in Health Science ⚕️August 16th, 2019 Source: https://www.gistkit.com/naija-news/timaya-writes-as-she-bags-3-degrees-despite-welcoming-a-set-of-twins-along-the-line/ Lalasticlala mynd44 Dominique missyb3 rocknation

A Lagos state resident, Ugo Friday, has dragged a 41-year-old tailor, Monday Udor, before an Ajegunle Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging his clothes worth N10,000. At the hearing of the case yesterday Tuesday May 14th, the prosecutor, Inspector Olugbenga Salami, told the court that the plaintiff had taken his clothes to Udor’s shop at No 2 Kudaisi street Olodi Apapa on April 4th for them to be made. Udor however failed to deliver his clothes as at when due and that the clothes were partly burnt when he was ironing them. The prosecutor told the court that Friday asked for a refund of the cost of the clothes, but the defendant refused to pay. He informed the court that the offence contravenes the provision of Section 339 of the Lagos State Criminal Code Laws, 2015. The magistrate, Mrs. Oluwakemi Williams-Isichie, granted Udor bail in the sum of N20,000 with two responsible sureties, who must show evidence of tax payment. The case was then adjourned until June 3rd for mention. Source: https://www.gistkit.com/naija-news/customer-sues-tailor-for-damaging-his-clothes-in-lagos/ Lalasticlala mind44 Dominique rocknation

https://www.gistkit.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/EFCC-gistkit.jpeg EFCC, on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, secured the conviction of two allegedly illegal gold dealers, Bukar Mandara Zarami, Managing Director, Bukar Mandara Zarami Limited, and Kar Nap Fenan Wuyep before Justice Muslim S. Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos. The convicts alongside a company, Bukar Mandara Zarami Limited, were re-arraigned today on an amended two -count charge bordering on possession of 35.58 kilogrammes of Gold Bars wrapped in six bags without appropriate permit. Count one reads: “That you, Bukar Mandara Zarami, on or about the 9th day of November, 2018 in Nigeria, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, dealt in 35.58 kilogrammes of gold bars wrapped in six bags without appropriate permit; and you, therefore, committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 134(c) of the Nigerian Mineral and Mining Act, 2007.” “Count two reads: “That you, “Kar Nap Fenan Wuyep, on or about the 22nd day of May, 2018 in Nigeria, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court , without going through any financial institution, accepted cash payment of the sum of $19,440(Nineteen Thousand , Four Hundred and Forty United States Dollars), from one Bakkkuk Steven Goyol, which sum exceeded the amount authorized by the Law; and, you hereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1)(a), Section 16(1) (d) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act 2011 as Amended and punishable under Section 16(2)(b) of the same Act.” The defendants pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against them. In view of their plea, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, sought the leave of the court to review the facts of the case. Oyedepo informed the court that the first defendant, Zarami, was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos on November 11, 2018 with 35.58 kilogrammes of Gold Bars wrapped in six bags. He further stated that “He was brought to the Lagos Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, where the gold bars were measured and counted in the presence of the first defendant, his counsel, a representative from the Ministry of Mines and Steel. All parties present signed the measurements document.” The prosecution sought to tender in evidence the signed measurement document and the first defendant’s boarding pass. Both the document and the boarding pass of the first defendant were admitted in evidence as exhibits P1 and P2. The prosecution counsel further told the court that investigations revealed that the first and second defendants did not have the appropriate permit to possess or deal in 35.58kg of gold. Oyedepo also told the court that, though the first defendant, in his statement to the EFCC, stated that he gave an official of the Ministry, Steven Bakkuk, about N3, 000,000 (Three Million Naira) as royalty, investigation showed that the actual amount he was supposed to pay as royalty was N6, 772, 64,16k (Six Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy -two Thousand, Sixty- four Naira, Sixteen Kobo). Oyedepo said: “This shows clearly that there was no appropriate permit for that quantity of Gold Bars. Investigation further revealed that instead of the official from the Ministry, who received the money from the first defendant, to put the funds in the treasury, he transferred the sum of N700,000.00 (Seven Hundred Thousand Naira) to the third defendant, who is a Director in the Ministry of Mines and Steel. “This led to further investigation into the account of Bakkuk, whose account was used for transfers of unlawful enrichment. It was discovered that about N28m in tranches was sent to the third defendant. “On May 22, 2018, the sum of $19,440 (Nineteen Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty United States Dollars) in cash was given to the third defendant, which is in excess of the amount authorized by Law to be received in cash and it constitutes an offence against Money Laundering Act 2011.” The prosecution sought to tender the statement of account of Bakkuk in United Bank for Africa, UBA, and the statements of both the first and third defendants. The documents were admitted in evidence as exhibits P3, P4 and P5, respectively. The prosecution counsel also informed the court that the defendants had entered a plea bargain with the prosecution, saying, “The first defendant has issued a cheque of N3, 000,000 (Three Million Naira) in favour of the Federal Government as one of the terms agreed upon in the plea bargain. “The first defendant, as part of the plea bargain, also agreed to forfeit the undeclared 5.5 kilogrammes of Gold Bars to the Federal Government. It was also agreed that the EFCC, in conjunction with the Deputy Chief Registrar of this Honorable Court, would facilitate the sale of the forfeited Gold Bars and the proceeds will be remitted into the Consolidated Revenue Funds Account of the Federal Government of Nigeria. Third defendant, in the plea bargain, agreed to pay a fine of N10, 000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) and forfeit the recovered Access Bank drafts to the tune of N36, 000, 00 (Thirty-six Million Naira). In view of their guilty plea, the prosecution counsel, Oyedepo, urged the court to convict the defendants on the amended charge and prayed the court to sentence them to the terms agreed in the plea bargain. Justice Hassan, while considering the terms of the plea bargain, convicted the defendants and further held that “the plea bargain is made the judgment of the court.” Source: https://www.gistkit.com/naija-news/two-illegal-gold-dealers-forfeit-n39m-property-to-fg/ Lalasticlala mynd44 dominique missyb3 rocknation |
Making it in the music industry is not always easy. Many successful stars can attest to the fact that attaining stardom is challenging. However when some people become famous, they try to appreciate those who worked behind the scenes. A number of Nigerians are aware of popular musicians but unable to name some of their producers. This means that more often than not, the producers remain in the background. However Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, D’banj, has taken out time to appreciate a music producer, Chisom Ifeachor, better known as Cheeky Cheezy. He made sure his appreciation was not just verbal but physical. The singer gifted Cheezy with a luxury Range Rover jeep, the kind many people only dream of. The excited producer took to his Instagram page to share the good news and to show off his new ride. D’banj also took to the comment section to celebrate the producer. Cheers to Bangalee for appreciating talent and congrats to the producer on his new ride.
