Politics / Re: GSK To Exit Nigeria After 51 Years Of Operations by leokid866: 12:12pm On Aug 04, 2023

So sad and very unfortunate.
How are the mighty fallen
A whole multinational company like GSK folding up it's operations was unthinkable years back.
LBS needs to do a case study on the company as a guide for investors in the future.
Oga take it easy Nigeria is not the first country they are existing a few years back they left an European nation as well.....and its not like they won't still be operating in Nigeria, their operations would just be handled by third parties probably through a licensing agreement while GSK itself just sits back and collect royalties.....companies do it all the time for different reasons.......

This has nothing to do with the reduction in smuggled petrol which subsidy enables our neighbors buy.

It's about Tinubu's bad reputation & how countries across our continent perceive him.
lol you think they know him? All they have been told is he is the one responsible for the high cost of living they now face......if they see him on the street you think they will recognize him?

Niger hasn't seen anything. President Tinubu should keep the border closed and remove Nigeria section of the railroad. Ban any goods going to Niger from coming through our ports, let them go and clear their goods in Mali and Bukinafaso, put special forces to watch the border from far away and brand anyone try to help them from Nigeria as an accomplice to overthrow his govt. Then watch them find another name for him.
this is nice and all but we are going to need them......with Dangote refinery coming online the plan was to run a pipeline from here to Europe so we can sell gas easily to them.....that pipeline was to cut through Niger, Algeria, Morocco and terminate in spain.....we cut out using Mali because of the coup that happened our hope was Niger was more stable, now that Niger has been seized by the military it complicates things because the pipeline project has already been signed off on already snd changes to it would cost more, take longer to build smd involve way too many parties. everyone from Nigeria to the whole of Europe (looking to stop their dependence on Russian energy) is very concerned about Niger right now but handling them with force is not going to help......if they want to live under a dictatorship that's their business as long as we can come to a mutual agreement

Was Abdulsalam not coup executioner, nothing good can come from that meeting because Tinubu will never understand the language of the soldiers.
Abdulsalam will not abandoned his colleagues to work for an election egger.
but it was Abdulsalam that ensured Nigeria returned to Democracy after Abacha so what are you saying?

Yorubas are too slow and dull in accepting positive changes. Imagine a local government that is only few kilometers from Lagos being so backward. Some places in SW appear even more remote and underdeveloped than places in NE.

Missionaries came to their place before other parts of Nigeria. Awolowo also gave them free education yet Igbos overtook them in one fantastic burst of energy!

If Lagos was close to Igboland the way it is close to Yorubaland, I bet you, no ethnicity in Africa would have come close.
but what have you made of your closeness to Rivers State? Economically speaking it is the No.2 state in Nigeria.....what have you done with that, that makes you feel you must be close to Lagos?

So why hasn't other ports been functioning optimally if it's a deliberate?

they generated the revenue because federal government gave the apapa and tincam monopoly for years. Which brought businesses hence revenue.

It's simple
Oga all port taxes go to the FG.....Lagos doesn't make money from the apapa and tincan ports.....the FG only has 5% in the Lekki port because it is a private business and they must surrender 5% stake to FG to fulfil their port license agreement, if not it will be completely private funded by Lagos and private businesses......

what happened to onne port or its not close enough? All the airports in the SE and SS they are not close enough? What have you done with what you have around that you want something closer? Or is it your bedroom you want FG TO come build port? 🤔

JagabanB:

You have valid points, South Africa is a western puppet yet it's more developed than these countries, same as Algeria who is a puppet to France.
The major problem lies with us.
We can send them out all we want (which is necessary) but it doesn't solve even half the problem.
How much do we really want to develop ourselves.
Africàñs especially Nîgeriàns go through schools and teachers (who speak out against slavery) makes it look like a crîmè if the student doñ't know the capital of UK, capital of france, Germany etc.
Yet the citizens of those countries can't even name a single city in the whole of Africa.
The problem is more from within than without.
Tinubu is trying to show that Nigèria is a powerful country, which I don't support, but to think that sending the West out will solve our problem is delusions of the highest degree.
About 23 states in Nigeria has good deposit of silica sand, how many glass industries do we have, we still import most of our glasses, our lands are good for agriculture yet Nigèria keep finding itself in food crîsès every now and then.
The west are not involved in these two, yet we can't make good use of them.
I'm sure if the west didn't come for our oil, we wouldn't have done anything with it just like so many minerals being wasted in our country.
Lithium is here in Nigeria but we haven't done anything with yet.
Tesla is requesting to come and take raw lithium away and Nigèria is insisting that they use it here within the country, aside that, we haven't done anything with it.
We have more problem within than without.
lol you think Tinubu would actually send soldiers into Niger? Wetin concern us concern them, if they want to live under the Military that's their business.....all the talk is just make them no talk say we abandoned them when they finally decide to have sense....the one wey funny pass na Mali wey dey talk, someone that is just holding on by a thread, he should ask his brethren in Chad howfar.....🤣🤣😅

It will go over your head because you’re a slave.

Only brave people break themselves free from the shackles of slavery.

France has no uranium yet it’s the biggest exporter of nuclear energy and 1 out 3 bulbs in France is powered by Niger’s uranium.

Niger is one of the largest exporters of uranium yet almost 80% of the population has no electricity. And why’s that? - France basically takes Niger’s uranium for free because it pays the country with CFA it prints. So, it’s basically exchanging paper with Niger’s uranium.

The same thing with Mali and its gold.

These are brave men - a cowardly slave like you won’t be able to relate.

lol and the only way to solve those issues is by running a coup.....okay.....nice to see you have no sense......what plans have the military laid out in terms of their uranium exports? What refining capabilities does the country have to sell refined uranium? What plans to refine the uranium does the military have that will create shortterm effects to help the economy? Or you think to start a uranium facility is a 1 day job? For your mind now that the military is in charge everything in the country will automatically get better? ask yourself why an entire Nation celebrated when Abacha died? If they want to serve under a dictatorship that's good for them, but having delusions that their lives are just going to get better is stupidity in its highest order.....

Despite the sit at home protest, South East remains the safest region in the South.

SW came distant third.

Our Yoruba brothers should stop disgracing the SOUTH.

lol by the Map the NE is the safest region in Nigeria, but I bet your left balls you will head to rhe SW first before going to the NE.....ps you are using quarterly measure on abductions to measure safety but if the map should start measuring killings you know the SE will be behind the NW so stop playing.
