Our economy is in disarray
We said it that tinubu is a disaster...yet they stepped into the polling unit with sentiment and tribalism...a dollar to naira is 950+...fuel price 600+ and they are still threatening to increase it...now diesel is 875+

If you are a true Nigerian and you can't allow an old sick man suffering parkinson disease with mental problem who is not aware of his environment to marry your daughter yet you forced the same person on over 200 million people after what we passed through for eight years in the hands of Buhari-tinubu Apc administration may you and your your children know no peace not only that may you and your children be harmed when revolution and cleasing start in Nigeria

The worse part of it now they will start to quote you and call you ipob not knowing that most of us are from South south
They will say we will wail for eight years ...they don't even know that most of us have enough money to survive we are just pitying them
lol for your mind na only you get money.....the rest of just dey count bridge.....🤣🤣🤣

We don't have problems, as in plural. We have just one problem, and that's corruption. It has tainted us and everything we do. Our leaders now consider running away from it to facing it.

Just compare the prices of every service and commodity in Nigeria today with that of May 29th this year.
It might not be only factor, but that's major factor
really corruption is what you're going with....😒

So because an idea failed under Buhari, we should fold hand instead of finding out what made it fail and how to improve. What exactly is your point?
that's not what I'm saying......we tried that for eight years already just simply jumping into it at a time like this is a sure fire way of loosing more than we can afford, and saying government hasn't tried its best to get us more productive as a nation is just a lie.....we as a people in this country have a lazy mindset of expecting others to just handle things for us and taking advantage of the government and others where and when we can......it's always somebody else's fault but us.

I actually expected the president to remove half that is is there was any effective palliative measures on ground and then slowly remove it completely later after blocking the acclaimed loopholes. The hardship is really telling on the poor masses...He should also look into the agriculture sector seriously..provide enough securities for the farmers so that there will be food at affordable prices. Yes, he's the current ECOWAS chairman, fine ,but he should give his most attention to the Nigerian current economy. Too bad. Imagine, Dollar is almost 1k. Haba! I actually hoped the president will do better but am not comfortable with the current situation in Nigeria. I pray Almighty God will see him through.
there was no allocation for any form of subsidy after June in our budget....you forget we are still using Buharis budget plan for 2023.

Any idea conceived and implemented with proper evaluation and monitoring will never produce high level pf default. However, it will if it was deliberately implemented to do favours to some classes of people.
Oga all the farmers they give easy access to cash, grain and machinery what did they do with it? You think the CBN just open vault and was taking in all commers? you think the Ministry of agriculture was not involved or the farmers association was not called? They were given help and most did nothing with while others converted the money to dollar to speculate against their own country.....sure there were some that were just let in, but those that were legitimate what happened? What's their excuse cause CBN never got 1 naira back......

We don't have to. Our leaders should stop running away from the problems we elected them to tackle. They like giving excuses and blaming others for failing in their responsibilities. Subsidy removal with the excuse of petrol smuggling outside the Nigeria was like cutting off the head in order to stop the headache.

Lol. Economy started nosediving as soon as Tinubu removed the subsidy, though you're free to attribute it to some other things
okay so what are the problems you believe they should tackle? PS if you believe the subsidy removal is all that there is to our current inflation problems then you have no idea how world economics work....cause for your mind we are insulated from external factors......

Just yesterday,Kenya President, William Ruto who also suspended subsidy the very first day he assumed office returned the subsidy for two months.
What these people don't understand is that subsidy isn't bad as people portray it, almost all advance countries subsidize so many things for their citizens but the problems in our own is the corruption in the subsidy programs. That's where the President needs to look at and not total suspension of subsidy.
Oga is like you did not realize our creditors were already closing in on our assets meanwhile we were spending 1Trillion naira every two months to give other African Nations cheap fuel while using 92% of our revenue to service debts....for a good part of the year many states had to borrow to pay staff.....there's no level of subsidy that doesn't lead us back to that path......this whole thing has to be a bad joke

Temporary subsidy on petroleum is not the way to go. Government should try and sanitize the purchase and supply chain associated with the diesel and PMS business. The inherent corruption should be addressed
the war front is not in the Oil sector, it's in the Fx market if we intervene in that the oil sector will comply

The good thing about eating one's words is that it doesn't make one fat.

However, this new development even if it is being considered is a red flag that President Tinubu is not as prepared for governance as he campaigned. Unfortunately, not appearing for media interactions or debate didn't help. That President Tinubu knew he would implement the removal of subsidy and floating of Naira soon after inauguration but had no plans to manage the consequences of the these major policy shift paints a scary picture about his future policies.

My suggestion is that Tinubu could go on and appoint Wale Edun the Finance minister as well as appoint his President Economic Team. However, he should he headhunt for some young hothead economists and financial experts and place them under his office to serve as his thinktank in brainstorming on policies, creating scenarios, doing risk-benefit analyses, SWOT Analysis, etc to give the big picture advantage. We need practical ideas from thinking out of box here rather than some textbooks stuff.

How on earth is value of Naira is falling and the CBN is speaking grammar. How about rolling about plans to encourage the local production and export to cure our trade deficits.
lol when the CBN rolled out plans to stimulate local production for 8 years under Buhari, how many of you paid back your loans? What did you do when Emefiele was begging everyone to pay back their loans or at least do what you were given the money for? Oga sit down I beg.....

Administering a country with multi-complex problems especially self induced by the clueless, and catastrophic APC government in Nigeria is not by sniffing cocaine and heroin or by a balabloo-blu-bulava mentality.
lol.....subsidy was introduced under Obj a pdp government.....

The same excuse that was used to get subsidy removed. Now subsidy was removed and economy is going haywire due hyper inflation and you're still blaming the same imaginary subsidy cabals
you're right we should continue to pay for other nations to have cheap fuel......Reason for the high inflation is part covid, part Russia war, part speculation in the forex market.....if we intervene in the FX market it could bring things down but a return to subsidy is a no.....no

It's not the same across Ogun state and oyo state

Say what you know

Go to IBEDC Facebook page to confirm my claims

I can tell you areas enjoying steady power supply in Ibadan and some areas that enjoy less than cummulative of 1hr power supply in a month

Oga I'm not arguing with you on IBEDC....and I said in "pockets" not all over the state....if you like move yourself and business closer to the pockets or stay and be fighting the BEDC....it will cost more but at least you have peace of mind on electricity supply.....
