Foreign Affairs / Re: 130 Fulani Massacred In Mali by LeoThaGreat(m): 9:57pm On Jan 28, 2021 |
This herdsmen issue we are currently facing in Yorubaland is the major reason for the battles currently going on in that part of Mali. I know a lady (Fulani-Yoruba) who had to flee from Mopti, her hometown to Lagos. Fulani (herdsmen) are really hated in Guinea (their land of origin), Burkina Faso, Ghana [operation cow leg], Mali, Togo, Benin Republic, Cameroon, Central African republic, Nigeria, etc, I dunno about Chad tho. This calls for introspection by the Fulanis, but no, they're not interested in that. They prefer to be exterminated gradually by SubSaharan countries. How can Africa move forward when the enemy within is much? 2 Likes |

My Nokia 2 has fallen down from top of the shelf two times, massive height but my phone is still intact, same as my screen. No scratches whatsoever. The battery is reliable & durable. If you can go for a NOKIA of 65k, do it, for now don't put Transsion phones in your consideration. 1 Like |

Kindly advice your friend to ear mark 35% of the 100% of money she intends to do business with to run a Fast Moving Consumer Goods business. This way, she'll be making daily income with chances of gradual growth because FMCG has stability. Though before/after coming to Nigeria, she has to take a course related to FMCG (e.g Supply Chain Management) to help sharpen her skills to predict the "Who, What, Where, Why, When" that economists recommend before starting any enterprise. After the course, she can either seek paid employment in FMCG industries e.g. Nestlé, Cadbury, Unilever, etc, or she can give FMCG business a try. Also advise her that she should never follow "investments" that are against the laid down Principles Of Investing. e.g. Pyramid schemes, Network marketing, etc, no matter what they say. If she wants to invest outside FMCG, she should question her likelihood to succeed in such business (a.k.a How many are the rich people around me or the world that made it through this business?). She should NEVER allow any non-certified practicing stockbroker invest her money for her/on her behalf. I've ran out of words to say, I might modify this post whenever the spirit leads me again. That's my suggestion. 3 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Is There No Local Herbs That Can Cure Coronavirus? by LeoThaGreat(m): 11:25am On Jan 13, 2021 |
The ugly truth is our people here will rather buy the expensive European vaccines rather than research and develop our own vaccine here. I noticed this from how our people prefer to buy vitamin c tablets for N1,000 naira (the German-French one that dissolves in water), rather than N50 orange that will not only cure cold, but give them a smoother and fresher face, prevent scurvy, etc. Our people are very much mentally colonised, that's why we're yet to discover our own cure/vaccine against Coronavirus because our Government & medical entities are waiting for Europe. The same Europe that her people die from malaria any time they visit here centuries ago while we have been drinking agbo iba to kill malaria, organic cure for that matter, not the type that will lead to cancer, liver damage, kidney disease like most Euro-American drugs. Our people aren't ready for freedom from colonialism |

The more Nigerian guys realise the moral, physical and mental composition of sub-Saharan ladies outside Nigeria, the more they will flock like sheep to date (or marry) these angels. Romance / Re: My Aunt Has Taken Over My Father's Properties I Need Help by LeoThaGreat(m): 4:32pm On Jan 10, 2021 |
The Aunt in question has every right (from my point of view) to take over her father's business at the demise of her brother. I'll only blame the dude's father for not making provision for his kid's future incase of his demise. Put yourself in the shoes of those women. Their father's business got inherited by their brother alone, now their brother is dead, is it proper for his children to run the business when they are still alive? No way! If she chooses not to pay this dude & his siblings stipends monthly, it's her choice! She can't be forced to. She obviously has been nursing the grudge against her brother since their father died, and she likely has a hand in her brother's death. I'll urge the dude in question to build on his experience & certificate since he's done with school. This is why writing a will is mandatory. 1 Like |
Romance / Re: What Led To The Greatest Flogging You Ever Received As A Kid? by LeoThaGreat(m): 9:23pm On Jan 09, 2021 |
I was in primary 3 first term. I brought one of my toy guns to school (those guns that you have to buy N30 round red bullets of 8 rounds). After assembly, I ran upstairs into the class to shoot at those "first to enter" classmates. Unfortunately, it was girls that came in first, and they went to report to uncle Sesan our class teacher that I shot at them with a toy gun. We were meant to have Speed work that morning but Uncle Sesan beat me throughout the session (I lost count after 200 strokes), saying I would be come an armed robber (oga never thought I would be a law enforcement agent). He asked me to come with my parents the next day or get beaten again. I didn't even inform anybody at home. The next morning, I came very early to school and threw away Uncle Sesan's two canes to the roof of the house next to the school. This uncle went to look for cane to beat me throughout the maths class we were meant to have. Same story that I would become an armed robber (he never mentioned police or soldier). I still have a grudge against him, but i know he only treated me to the best of his myopic knowledge. 1 Like |

virginprincess:Sis, only colonised minds talks like this. A freeman acts according to standards he chooses, not as dictated by colonisers. Know what? I guess the reason he chose his attire was cuz they didn't have a traditional wedding, but he wanted to dress traditionally, so he decided to dress this way. He's a freeman, not a 'zombie'. |

Romance / Re: “your Husband Has No Business With Your Money” – Blessing Okoro Tells Women by LeoThaGreat(m): 8:08am On Dec 21, 2020 |
I truly believe a wife is supposed to be a helper. Plus it's wrong for the husband to be so inquisitive about his wife's finances. I also believe the husband is the provider and it's very WRONG for the wife to be so inquisitive about how much the husband earns (if she won't disclose hers). The wife has no business knowing her husband's finances if they aren't into a family business. The husband has to drop anything he feels like if he's dealing with a woman with this mentality. What more? In a the world of today where unemployment & underemployment is the order of the day in Nigeria, if a husband is playing his role as a provider and dropping whatever he can afford, and the woman isn't playing her role as a wife to help if the funds available aren't enough, the kids will suffer and will be the victims. I saw this well while growing up. Women looking gorgeous with kids looking like maids & houseboys because things aren't currently smooth for their father. LMAO. We that grew up with mothers that help or provide when needed have no idea of how blessed we are. Ladies nowadays just want to relax & be taken care of like a trophy wife. I don't object to this, but they should expect junior wives |

senatordave1:If you are referring to the Kosofe constituency II election held yesterday, well, I've seen his campaign posters all around Kosofe whenever I pass through, I'm just hearing from you that he won. I guess: (1) The low voters turn out worked against APC or (2) He was able to rig using an effective method I won't mention here. Either the figures are concocted or not, my bottom line still remains that Lagosians complain always, especially in commercial buses, but when it's time to vote out the reason for their complain, they will stay indoors. This shows Cross Riverians put their money where their mouth is, a.k.a coming out to vote, unlike Lagosians that complain every second and still don't vote their preferred candidate out of the 13 on the ballot box. All votes in yesterday's Lagos East election is about 24,000, yet the PDP candidate that ran for the same post last year scored 90,000+ as second runner up. Kaoli Olusanya lamented at Ìkòròdú town hall to his APC members that Ìkòròdú district scored just 45,000 votes in the last governorship election for APC; now the entire Lagos East across all parties scored 24,000 Lagosians are not worth fighting for. Chief Dr. Harry Akande was the richest Nigerian before Alhaji Aliko Dangote. In 2001, a list of looters and the richest Nigerians was released and Harry Akande was a way richer than the looters. The front page of The Punch (2001) reported that Chief Akande earned a monthly income of $533 million. (He later disputed this figure in 2001 claiming it was "off the mark" |

Culture / Re: The Title OBA Is Indigenous To Benins by LeoThaGreat(m): 10:00pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
Before Oduduwa came to Ilè Ifè from Oke-Ogun, there were 13 autonomous villages in Ifè all headed by Obas, e.g. Obatala, Obalufon, etc. The first Oba of Bini was Oranyan, a descendant of Oo'dua, before Oranmiyan, Bini was governed by the Ogiso. The above logically proves that the titling of the position of an Oba in Yorubaland predates that of Bini The position 'Oba' is a pure Yòrùbá word. It's direct translation should be Governor or Controller/Administrator. O = The one/person that does something (a continuous tense) Ba = Perch or Control I just have to drop this comment before history gets distorted as usual. The full position is called Oba T'ó Ba L'órí Ohun Gbogbo = The Controller that governs all things. Then the position has titles. E.g The Controller of Oyo is referred to as Alaafin (Alaafin l'oruko oba ilu Oyo). Alaafin = Title Oba = Position Bye y'all! 3 Likes |
Politics / Re: South West People Engaging in SME Should Double in Number in 2021 by LeoThaGreat(m): 8:58pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
The truth is people born within 1950's - 1990's in Yorubaland were inculcated to believe that 9 - 5 is the way to go. Especially as the % of those working 9 - 5 then live a seemingly more comfortable life than their 10 - 10 counterparts. But since the economic downturn, coupled with a population burst that has over populated higher institutions with hopes of getting non-existent jobs, these fella born in the 1990's - 2000's are now doing 9 - 5 with side hustles mostly, some female graduates are now full-time traders. Everyone follows the trend when it comes to surviving as human beings. the pre-Buhari/Idiagbon era was favourable to traders so Yòrùbás followed that trend. The aftermath made people start seeking a guaranteed monthly payment (salary). Now that the economically visionless Buhari is running Nigeria again, Yòrùbás are working 9 - 5 & once the side hustle picks up, they resign. MY POINT OF VIEW IS FROM THAT OF A LAGOS BOY THOUGH 5 Likes 1 Share |

Crime / My Leg Was Amputated After I Was Shot At Lekki Toll Gate - 23yr Old Cobbler by LeoThaGreat(m): 4:16pm On Nov 29, 2020 |
Speaking exclusively with PUNCH HealthWise Adebayo Francis a few days after he was discharged from the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, Olalekan Faleye said until the Lekki shooting, he had temporarily worked as a labourer with a construction company in Ikoyi to raise money for his ‘freedom’ as an apprentice cobbler. . He also planned to use whatever was left after his freedom ceremony to rent a shop where he could carry out his cobbler trade. . “Any time we had little or nothing to do at the construction site, I would join the #ENDSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate to demonstrate against Police brutality and bad governance. . “I recalled attending the protest on three different occasions (October 15, 16 and 17) before the soldiers’ invasion on October 20,” he said. Struck by soldiers’ bullet Looking pale and sad, he struggled to recollect the incident of the Black Tuesday, saying the whole episode still feels like a bad dream. . “They (soldiers) arrived in a group and, without warning, started shooting at us. As people ran helter-skelter, I recalled hearing the protest coordinators screaming, ‘Don’t panic, sit on the floor together and keep waving the Nigerian flag.,But it was too late. People panicked when they saw the soldiers advancing and shooting at us...In the panic that ensued, I was hit on the right leg by a stray bullet. The force of the shot was so intense that I found myself on the ground..." --.The shooting incident had attracted national and international outcry, with the Lagos State and Federal governments being urged to unravel the identity of the shooters and who deployed them.
