I'm urging all job seekers to stay updated with in-demand applications required by their field so they'll stand a chance among a pool of people. Especially Microsoft Excel as it covers a lot of discipline.

Hello Marxxx

I've got a question for ya.

I read recently about a person getting noisily chased out from a KPMG interview (or assessment or something of that sort) because he tendered a certificate from a university in Cotonou with the lady saying "We don't rate those universities here". I am a graduate from Houdegbe North American University in Cotonou with a flair for offering operation/strategy advice, first to a friend which has been working out great, then to a manager in an organisation which I will assess in a few months time. I intend to practise consulting full-time after my service year but I'd like to know if it's true that students from Houdegbe (Cotonou generally) aren't rated in the consulting field.

Thanks

As long as you're using your phone, there will always be demand for memory more space. Solve your problem by getting a memory card. Preferably 8GB above

Move your media files & music to your memory card.
Move apps that can be moved to your memory card as well.
Move everything movable to your memory card to give your internal memory more space
Career / Learn Microsoft Excel To Get That Job by LeoThaGreat(m): 11:17pm On Dec 12, 2019
Hey there,

This is Leo tha Great

I used to work at a start-up Domestic Service company as a marketing officer. When the time got near for me to leave the job, I started looking up websites for job seekers to see requirements of jobs that I fancy. If I wasn't knowledgeable, I'd have thought the jobs I saw were all indirectly sponsored by Microsoft to popularise Excel. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel was a requirement in every lucrative job I saw.
Owing to the fact that my laptop got permanently damaged and I'm yet to replace it, I took a bold step to learn as much as I could about the presumably difficult to understand Microsoft Excel before leaving the job.

3 Key Uses of Microsoft Excel

With my previous knowledge in Microsoft Word, I came to realise Word & Excel are too similar to be in separate applications. Learning Excel for me was so simple.

After many weeks of mastering Excel (this time I've left my job and now handle with Google Sheets and Excel on my mobile phone), it struck me that there are still thousands of job seekers out there needing this knowledge of Microsoft Excel to get that job they have in view, but they are likely going to lose the seat to someone less qualified for the job than themselves just because of knowledge in a data entry platform. So I thought: Why not educate these guys and simply help the true best man win?

Hence why I compiled this course that I call: Microsoft Excel Tutorial For Beginners (Works With Google Sheets)

. We made it super easy to understand
. Included many pictures to guide the beginner
. Broke the chapters into modules to make it less cumbersome, etc.

I believe if I could know how to properly use Excel today, any dedicated person will.

Get a peep into these free modules in Chapter 1 to see if our course is worth your cents or not.

View it here

Phones / Re: Who Has A Small Android For Sale by LeoThaGreat(m): 3:39pm On Dec 12, 2019
I'm not sure if you can get a GENUINE android phone for your budget, else you want to get scammed.
I have a JAVA powered NOKIA 2 occupying space in my shelf, in case you don't get the android phone of your choice, you can holler at me.
I've abandoned the phone for a long while now so you'll need a new battery from computer village. The phone also has a faulty screen I'm yet to repair for 3k.

I'll part with it for 4k if you're interested.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 5 High Paying Jobs That Don’t Require A University Degree by LeoThaGreat(m): 3:07pm On Dec 12, 2019
In Nigeria today, anyone who knows the value of having a plan B will strive hard to have an excellent higher education degree.
All businesses or entrepreneurship endeavours are gambles. You either win big or lose. The market mostly determines if your enterprise will be successful, not you or your imagination.
Just in case the market doesn't favour you on time, strive towards an excellent degree.
Mark Zuckerberg tried selling Facebook to Yahoo, and co. but he was rejected (because no one yet knew how to monetise Facebook till 2009).

A word is enough for the wise.

Business / Re: Business Ideas by LeoThaGreat(m): 2:13pm On Dec 08, 2019

Hi guys!

My good friend from Canada contacted me and asked me what kind of business we can go in together. I suggested importation and farming but he doesn't like both, so I think I should ask you guys here.

Anyone with some good ideas should please suggest.

Thank you.
I'll suggest buying distressed property, or landed property generally will be nice, depending on the capital hand.
It doesn't involve much stress on your part. Only lawyers will go through some stress in order to verify how legit the seller is, which you will pay for.
When you buy a house, renovate it to modern standards, then rent it out. I'll advise properties close to the express road or in sub roads, not inside some developing area cuz they come with much trouble, and the faint hearted will get shaken when such arise.
Or
You could buy, renovate, then sell.
Or you could buy vacant land, build a fence around it afterwards, THEN BUILD SOME SHOPS IN FRONT SO THE LAND WON'T LOOK ABANDONED, SO IT WON'T GET RESOLD BUY SCAMMERS, then you'll sell the lands after some time. Possibly six months or a year plus, depending on the demand.
.
.
I'll drop my pen here. Advises like this shouldn't be given out for free. You should pay business advisors instead. Osho-free advises will likely lure you into an abyss.

I presume so (based on what I hear from rappers like Trinidad James).
My presumption aside, I really don't think most of the migrants can meet the U.S requirements if they try the legal

They mostly emigrate into the U.S (illegally), since the U.S is a bigger market than the E.U and it's closer to them as well.
Romance / Re: What Do You Know About Hatians? by LeoThaGreat(m): 7:41pm On Dec 06, 2019
They speak Creole.

They are being punished by the U.S and France for being stubborn during the colonial times.

They practice Voodoo (Vodoun, etc) just like the Yòrùbá traditional religion. [They also do Catholicism and other religions].

They migrate a lot, mostly due to financial constraints.

They face threats on natural disasters and it would be nice to give donations to NGO helping that country, even if it's a dollar.

What more do I know?

I've been seeing your 'ad' on NL lately.
You're likely advertising to people who don't need or want your product.

MY ADVICE ON SALES STRATEGY:
1. Come up with a simple but neatly designed, brochure with nice copywriting pitching your products, with nice price tags on your products, printed on quality paper materials.
2. Collate as much contact as you can in the Procurement Department of as much organisations you can. (Don't restrict yourself to the Procurement Department alone in some cases)
3. Send your brochure tagged with your business card by direct mailing to the Procurement Department of those organisations (along with a gift token e.g. Branded flash drives, branded key holders, etc).

I think I've tried.

If this news is true, then I'll probably cast my first vote ever in Nigeria.
It was just yesterday i re-read a Success Digest magazine from 1999 highlighting Orji Uzor Kalu, high rise to success, management style etc.
This man is fit (overly qualified) to lead Nigeria just like Osinbajo could.

Thank you. Today I went to look for houses. This business I do doesn't need me in the heart of lagos everyday as once I get a contract I can be on it for sometime, I went out towards Magboro, arepo axis. It's between 100-200# to get to Berger. Problem is the houses I saw were as from 200K excluding other charges for a mini flat. And I'm even intending to work from home for the mean time. So shop rent isn't included. I haven't stopped searching for jobs too.
I think you should first nurture your business till it doesn't need your full time presence (a.k.a when you have CAPABLE a apprentice) before you continue your job hunting, especially since you're gradually establishing a client base.
But if the tailoring contracts aren't regular, you could opt for a 9 - 5 that doesn't steal your weekends.
You might have to settle for a less comfortable house (since that's what your pocket is dictating)
I think you should keep a diary cuz you might look back at the decisions you'll make and be grateful you did.

Shalom

More money, more problems.

I think what you need is some form of regular excitement.
Truth is you can survive well outside your parents house. Just be modest with your spending at the start.
Since your business is still growing, take your time to nurture it properly. You may not have access to the kind of market Lagos provides you if you migrate else where.

Move into your own modest apartment only if you can sustain yourself sha

Politics / Re: All In One Solar Street Light For Constituency Project , 60watts by LeoThaGreat(m): 8:54pm On Nov 26, 2019
One simple strategy to help skyrocket your sales is to visit your local government secretariat, or the palace of the king of your locale.
Pitch a proposal to them that you would like to donate a solar powered streetlight to the community and you are wondering if they will like to partner with you to donate more to the society. This could usher you into the door of millions.
You could also pitch the same to prominent politicians in your locale requesting for a partnership in a conjoined community project.

I shouldn't be giving this out for free.
