Two-student of Ladoke Akintola University Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Taoheed Oyewo and Ayanwole Emmanuel have won the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Award held in Texas.

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that Team pathfinder from LAUTECH and two teams from UNILAG were shortlisted from Nigeria to participate at the competition.

Other international institutions that also participated at the 2023 Global Design health Competition include Stanford University, University of Michigan, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Rochester, Saint Louis University, University of Los Andes, Case Western Reserve University, University of Pennsylvania and Bangladesh University of Georgia Institute of Technology.

The Rice University Institute for Global Health Technologies 13th Annual Undergraduate Global Health Technologies Design Competition featured various student teams from national and international universities who presented low-cost technologies they have designed to address global health challenges in resource-limited settings.

The 2023 Competition was hosted on April 21, 2023, on the Rice University Campus in Houston, Texas, with virtual participation options also available to student teams.

Speaking with our correspondent on Saturday, the Pathfinder team leader, Mr Oyewo said that they applied for the competition around January this year and got shortlisted in March and proceeded to semi final and the final was yesterday.

Oyewo, a student of Mechanical Engineering (lead innovator), and his colleague from same department, Emmanuel Ayawole, further disclosed that they competed with both national and international universities to win the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award in the just Concluded 2023 Annual Global Health Design Challenge.

While expressing his profound gratitude to the team supervisor, Professor Tesleem Asafa of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, LAUTECH, he noted that they presented a Disability Inclusive Latrine PAN (DILPAN), a modified pit-latrine system that simultaneously addresses Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and offers users a hygienic and inclusive toilet solution.

He added that the team was also a WINNER of Young Nigeria Innovative Competition, a competition organised by the The Nigerian Society of Engineers – Headquarters(NSE) at the just concluded 2022 National Engineering Conference and Exhibition, Abuja.

This kind of jubilation did not happen when Tinubu was declared winner by INEC, infact he did not even come to celebrate in the streets of Lagos he claims he built.

This kind of jubilation did not also happen when Sanwo Olu was declared winner by INEC...

If this type of jubilation did not happen in your state when INEC declared your governor elect, there is 99.9% possibility you guys have been scammed

It’s not all state that’s is starved of good governance like Abia let them enjoy their W in peace

Polithiefians will not suffer shit for anything we do, na me I u go suffer am.
So I will sit back, watch and laugh when they start complaining.
Those jubilating clearly shows the rate of illiteracy in this country. The level of stacked illiteracy (especially from the common man) is higher than the poverty level we have in this country.
Citizens jubilating for another 8 years of suffering, una nva see anything yet.

So Asiwaju is the only one that buys vote in this country abi
dyera:

When Asiwaju is actually the root cause of their suffering, you are telling them he is the solution. If it wasn't because Asiwaju is a criminal vote buying politician, would Buhari insist on a naira redesign deadline?

So that once the next government get there they can squander it abi
