About to take a place in Irlam, was hoping for some local insights

I used the UK VFS Port Harcourt office at the presidential hotel, and yes, they have only premium service, 150 pounds, and the service includes upload my document assistance and passport courier

I also chose the upload my document service and did the uploading myself, from when I got to the center to when I did my biometrics and left the office was less than 15 mins, because I did the self-upload.

You have to join another queue if you want them to upload it for you; that's the only thing that takes time.

Also, when trying to upload your documents, the common errors you should look out for are
>File name too long
>Special characters in file name
>file size is too large (use sites like ilovepdf.com to adjust your documents)
> file contains virus (this is mostly for passworded documents, although I got the error in some documents that wasnt passworded )

The last error is what touts would charge you an exorbitant amount in other centers to help upload your document. The simple, quick fix is to either print the document and scan it again or go to the document and print as PDF. To do this, click on print, look for PDF on the print dialog box, click on it and save the document again . The new document should be able to upload without error.

I hope this helps someone considering using the PH center and to self-upload documents

I'm a little concerned about this news only coming from "The cable" and no other news outlet picked up the story, the news is not verified by VFS and the news source didn't state where it was announced. If you goto the VFS website there's no news or option for Enugu/PH as a centre.

I want to move back to the UK, and I already have a NI number from when I did my masters in 2009. Can I fill a form C4503 to request my NI details from Nigeria, or is there any way to get the details?

If the Nigerian application is N30,000 and diaspora is $54 why would anybody take the diaspora option

Whats the difference?

is it that the diaspora application you do not need to physically come to do your biometrics?

Hopefully @gerrald02 will also provide some advice.

In the meantime, here is what I have to say:

1. Let the spouse who is in the UK use his/her card to make the payment. That is what we did.
2. I don't know. I don't expect you need to but when you fill in the application and you answer the questions one by one, at the end you will see if ECCTIS is needed or not.
3. I am not sure where you are located, but I did mine at IOM, Lagos. It cost about 145k. They are expensive but they had the earliest available appointment dates compared to the other clinics where the UK govt has approved TB testing. If you have the time to spare, then check the other options. It should be less.
4. I don't think there is a straight answer to this; the objective is to demonstrate that you and your spouse have a subsisting relationship. In my case I randomly selected conversations over the last two years.

Postgraduate certificate from a UK university and a
Msc from a university in France but I attended the UK campus

I would like to know what the process was like for you so I could get an idea of which of the degrees I should use to fulfill the english language requirements

The answer to your question is, it was CS we were supposed to stay for 4 days but ended up stating for 8 because the LOs had Jaundice and DW needed a transfusion after the surgery and had malaria from the blood that she was given. So we haven't immunized the kids yet or done circumcision because of the the jaundice

I am a first time mother and my baby is over 5 weeks.

I am kind of worried my baby doesn't respond to sound. Hubby plays the home theatre very loud sometimes especially when baby is sleeping just to see if he'll be frightened.

HMO stands for Health Maintenance Organization.

It is a network of hospitals that offer healthcare services, usually preventive. So you pay a premium on a plan and get access to healthcare service from any hospital in the network available on your plan of choice.

So for example if you pay 50,000 for a one year plan, the HMO will pay your hospital bills anytime you goto the hospital throughout the year.

Note: most structured companies have plans already for their staff (and spouses) so check with your HR dept (if you don't have a HR dept, you probably don't have a HMO plan).
Also most basic HMO plans do not cover child birth in the first year, so make sure to ask what your plan covers and the hospitals on the network before you pay for any plan.

Good evening mummies, bet we all had a great day today. Please I have a concern, I've done 95% shopping, but hubby and I are in a fix if we should buy a baby cot or not because almost everyone around us complained how they wish they never bought or made a baby cot as the LO never agreed to sleep in it and it just became a monument in the house. So now we are confused if to buy not knowing if our LO will accept to sleep in it. Kindly share your opinion or experience.

BTW I packed my hospital bag today.....

We had similar concerns and I think your decision should be based on your budget, we bought the Chicco next time, it's supposed to be a bedside bassinet (you can take out the sides so LO and mama will be beside each other)and we got it second hand. Hopefully, it will do the job, our main concern as first-time parents was the dangers of cosleeping.
