SIL calls to say I'll suffer if i leave her brother. I was quick to reject such rubbish from the pit of hell! That God is more merciful to men than women!
That my marriage is just four years and my husband can wake up and ask me to leave! That I'm not getting all the things I'm supposed to get as a married woman because my husband is still watching me to make sure I'll take care of his things when he's not here. I have been married for 28 years now and never for once has my hussy abused me physically. The best way to avoid being abused is to set your goals clearly at the beginning of the relationship. If he slaps you the first time and you just whine and do not enforce your displeasure, he will surely do it over and over again. Mind you I don't mean hitting back. As women you have many ways of telling him he should not do it to you as you will not take it.

If unfortunately he does it again please run because he is a hitter and will continue to hit you anyway. Many women have lost their lives because they did not (or could not ) speak up. We have counseling units in the ministry of women affairs and indeed NGOs all over the country. Be educated of your rights and insist on them and things will change. - I hope I am making sense?
