Mariory,
I read his resume~no way can he earn that much even if its' bonuses and compensation from the various boards he was a member of!No way!500 mill!Unless as i said~inheritance cause the father was well off and Shehu is late brother.Apart from that,i doubt any "prestigious" directorship would give him that amount,Anyways let him elucidate~as he is the most incorruptible perfect man for Nigeria

it's sad that someone would think N500million is small money. that's half a billion Naira, and it's not easy to make that legally in Nigeria.

I have said it~Koro lacks imagination, talent and the know-how to run Lagos!A tout would always be a tout~that is PDP for you.A band of thugs, bandits, louts, brigands and rogues!A vote for Koro would be a vote for vermin and locust to feed on Lagosians!A senator with no senatorial input for 4 years,no visible FG funded initiative in his district,no drive. In this day and age, governance has gone beyond sentiments~Koro ain't fit and left to me he should be consigned to the backwaters of Island, doing what he knows best,as some of us that know him to do well at~touting!

Tex,
you could be correct, however Iran exercises every right to defend herself~by force if necessary. These aren't pleasant times and by the way should we always believe what the Western media potrays as fact always? This week Iran was conducting military exercises on the Gulf~it could be that the presence of thses naval guys was unpalatable. In as much as i denounce demagoguery in every ramification,Iran's stance against imperialism ought to be commended! My humble take

Nigeria gets fresh $75m facility from World Bank
NIGERIA'S external debt, which has been significantly reduced by Federal Government, may be inching up again as the World Bank approved $75 million floating development fund for the country.

The development was disclosed yesterday in Bauchi by the World Bank task team leader, Prof. Folusho

Akinwande, while inspecting some projects

at Gitar village in Bauchi Local Government

Area.

He said the fund would facilitate the

implementation of the Local Empowerment and

Environmental Management Project (LEEMP)

in the country.

Akinwande said the amount was provided to accelerate infrastructure development in rural communities and to facilitate the execution and management of viable environment projects.

He said 820 communities selected from nine states to participate in the four-year World Bank-assisted programme.

He named the participating states as Adamawa,

Bauchi, Benue, Enugu, Bayelsa, Katsina, Niger,

Imo and Oyo.

Akinmewade said the Bank had achieved over

65 per cent success in the implementation of the

LEEMP projects in some states, noting that the Bank had mapped out strategies to enhance effective monitoring and transparency in the projects execution.

The Bauchi State co-ordinator of the LEEMP

project, Alhaji Nasiru Shehu, said 90 communities were participating in the programme.

Shehu disclosed that N300 million had so far been disbursed to rural communities in the state out of the N600 million set aside for the programme.

``LEEMP has encouraged communities to initiate projects which are people-oriented such as schools, clinics, roads and water," he added.

Earlier, the Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Mahmood, said the state government had approved payment of its 50 per cent counter-part funding, to enable the state access the fund.

Mahmood assured the bank of the state government's co-operation and pledged to partner with other donor agencies for the development of the state.

Obasanjo to launch Niger Delta master-plan
By Our correspondent
Published: Friday, 23 Mar 2007
President Olusegun Obasanjo will next Tuesday, launch the Niger Delta Regional Development Master Plan.

The master-plan is being facilitated by the Niger Delta Development Commission in collaboration with local stakeholders and international development agencies.

The NDDC, in a statement issued by its Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Anietie Usen, said the historic event would be held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The nine governors of the Niger Delta states; members of the National Assembly; chief executives of oil companies; leading traditional rulers; representatives of youth groups; and a cross-section of the diplomatic community will also attend the ceremony.

At the inception of the NDDC in 2001, Obasanjo had underscored the need to drive development programmes in the Niger Delta with a well-thought-out regional master-plan.

He also mandated the NDDC to spearhead the design of a regional master-plan for the Niger Delta that would serve as a framework for rapid development of the region.

The commission immediately set out with the task, carrying along with it the over 13,000 communities in the region, the nine states and the 185 local government areas in the region as well as the oil companies and international development agencies.

Fasawe is not happy to discuss anything that has to do with banks and refer them to his bank but is so happy to discuss on the MOFAS account and how the President paid 700million into it. That sums up why he came to the Senate, for a singular purpose to smear OBJ.

I have said it before, all this crap allegations against OBJ can't stand in any law court. Those who go about telling us how OBJ bought 200million shares, Paid 700million Naira into Fasawe's account and how he bought a car for his girlfriend should do a more thorough job by telling us what Government funds OBJ has diverted to fund this expenditure, otherwise it amounts to nullity. Telling us what expenditures OBJ has made without telling us how that affects the country's treasury is merely feeling the air with intrigues aimed at putting Nigerians in a Island of despair that afterall there is no one to trust and thus no hope lets remain where we are.

If Atiku is sure of himself why did he try to stop Senate through a law court from indicting him seprately from that pronounced by the administrative panel of enquiry??

Time will tell where all this propaganda will lead to
No
one has told us how much Atiku is using to single handedly fund the AC
Atiku is not accused of corruption because he bought Lexus or 607 for Fasawe
Atiku is not even being questioned how he is able to have investments in different sectors of the economy including Media, oil and gas, Telecomunication etc.

No one is asking those rhetorical questions even when it is obvious that his service in customs could have have brought him such wealth because there is no proof.

Atiku is being accused of diverting State Funds into Private intrests, clear case of corruption and abuse of office. That is the difference between Atiku
Wow,Principal gotta be proud!

Politics of dishonest cleverness~
Where is the EFCC? Why the selective treatment?

I hope OBJ and co will renovate and revamp our prisons before they get out of office. It is almost certain they will be spending a good portion of their retirement time there.
See~could not agree better! What is he afraid of?Isn't the EFFFC or whatever name they go by supposed to have found OBJ not corrupt at all?Why aint Nuhu shouting now? What is the magomago concerning the panel report? Why did OBJ not face the panel? He did face Oputa panel(before you begin to stone me) Politics of duplicity~OBJ misused public funds and as he once said himself, anyone who contravenes the law must be punished!
I know for sure as Tayo said~gaol is definife post May 29 for OBJ!Or are they gonna give him a Presidential pardon too?
