Whosoever wishes death for a fellow human being by his thought and who verbalises it, is a murderer and an assassin. If such a man has access to weapons, he will commit murder. Such a person is an assassin,” he declaredWell said !What of those who killed Ige,marshal,Dikibo, Williams?Weren't they carrying out orders?OBJ ! |
He also endorsed the state deputy governor, Otunba Bayo Alao-Akala, as the PDP governorship standard-bearer in Oyo State by raising up his (Akala’s) hand at the rally. In Oyo PDP, there is enough space for everybody. In Oyo State, there are many competent people who can fly the party’s flag but Alao-Akala is the best candidate for the party in the stateHmm!Despite Ribadu indicting Akala for gross incompetence, despite 11 months as governor with nothing to show,i really wonder about OBJ'S legacy after office. |
Obasanjo publicly salutes Adedibu! From www.tribune.com.ng Adedibu cannot be reformed - Obasanjo; Violence in Ibadan By Dapo Falade and Akin Durodola - 09.03.2007 THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday took Ibadan by storm with President Olusegun Obasanjo declaring that Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu cannot be reformed. Ibadan city was practically shut down with pockets of violence recorded in some parts of the city just as both President Obasanjo and Governor Goodluck Jonathan described those peddling rumours of Alhaji Umar Yar’Adua’s death as murderers. Governor Rashidi Ladoja was, however, absent at the rally, citing security concerns. Speaking at the PDP campaign at Ibadan yesterday, the president noted that; “Baba (Adedibu) has been in politics for over 55 years and he is now about 80 years. Whatever his shortcomings, he should not be chided publicly in accordance with the Yoruba culture. “Baba is not an angel and he is not perfect but whatever his shortcomings, he can be privately corrected. He can be corrected secretly and I am sure that he will surely change. This is what I have been telling the people; whatever his shortcomings, we should let him know but decently and we should not also fail to point out the areas where he is good.” Holding Alhaji Adedibu’s hands as the duo danced together, President Obasanjo said somebody like Alhaji Adedibu could not be dispensed with, adding that, “55 years of political experience can not be bought in the market; we need his experience to ensure the victory of the PDP.” Speaking on the chances of the party at the April elections, the president asserted that the Yar’Adua/Goodluck presidential ticket was the best for Nigeria. He also endorsed the state deputy governor, Otunba Bayo Alao-Akala, as the PDP governorship standard-bearer in Oyo State by raising up his (Akala’s) hand at the rally. “In Oyo PDP, there is enough space for everybody. In Oyo State, there are many competent people who can fly the party’s flag but Alao-Akala is the best candidate for the party in the state,” he said. Speaking on the rumoured death of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Yar’Adua, President Obasanjo said he was alive and kicking, describing the rumour mongers as murderers. “I spoke with Yar’Adua on phone in Abeokuta yesterday (Wednesday) to confirm if he is dead. By the grace of God, by the end of the week, he will return and before the end of the South-West zonal campaign of our party, our presidential candidate, Umar Yar’Adua, will be able to join us again. “Whosoever wishes death for a fellow human being by his thought and who verbalises it, is a murderer and an assassin. If such a man has access to weapons, he will commit murder. Such a person is an assassin,” he declared. Meanwhile, Oyo State governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, said his absence at the Mapo rally of the PDP yesterday was for security reasons and to avoid a recurrence of what happened at the Akure rally about a month ago. He spoke through his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Prince Ade Adekanmbi, while also stating that he had delegated his deputy, Chief Bayo Alao-Akala, to welcome President Obasanjo at the Ibadan airport on his behalf. “In respect to the rally, you will recall what happened in Akure and the governor, being a man of peace, did not want a repeat of that, so he had to stay away. Apart from that, the security report did not allow him to go,” he said. But the Akala 2007 project described the excuse given by the governor as a flimsy one, saying it was a slap on the face of Oyo State people. Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Yar’Adua/Akala project, said “the absence of the governor of Oyo State to receive the president this afternoon (yesterday) both in his capacity as the governor and as chief security officer is a slap on the face of citizens of this state. “It is an embarrassment and a flouting of bureaucratic and protocol etiquette which should not be condoned in a democracy. “If indeed he belongs to the PDP as he has often claimed, no matter how disappointed he is concerning his gubernatorial ambition, he should have put the interest of the people first and allow civilized decorum to play a major role.” Also, the former deputy national chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Yekeen Adeojo, said his presence at the rally was not necessary. Though Alhaji Adeojo could not be reached, one of his aides who spoke on condition of anonymity, said “since it was a mere rally, the presence of Chief Adeojo is not necessary.” In a related development, violence erupted in the early hours of yesterday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, leaving many wounded. |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of you guys here are just taking this thing as a religion crysis or something else, u should not be talking of this either, because if u can think very well about the Nigerian history on our Independent, Sir Ahmadu Bello is the top man that made Nigeria, when the note was sign of Arabic then, why them talk then that they should change it that Nigeria is not Arabic state or so, Arabic sign in our money is not mean that's Nigeris is Islamic state or something, is that respect of the old ppls that made Nigeria a country, because that's the only thing them will be seeing and think about what they do to the Nation as well. What were the contributions of Sardauna to Nigeria at large? That is the problem with you folks~inability to express yourself in common english a la paucity of aplomb and intellect!Whatever that was on the notes does not represent the unity in diversity that has been sunk in our ears for so long.We were never an Arabic/muslim state,we are a secular state and thoseinscriptions originally had no business there! Instead of commenting on real issues the North and its' moles and minions like Lateef Adegbite and Arisekola are doing what they know best to do-fan embers of dissent! When MKO was jailed the same council that he was Vice of kept quiet. Now this lame new Sultan,a supposed educated fellow is just an embarrassment to the nation,we should look at things objectively instead of igniting the flames of strife.Well so much for the northern elite~never surprised. Egghead joins the admirable list of the spawn of the north that cannot defend their actions on the www and instead posture ,grandstand and hem their way when challenged.Another product of the mythical nomadic grandiosity like Big donkey his kith and ally |
A leopard as they say can never hide its spots~you keep demonstrating your insincere duplicious, dubitable dishonest cleverness!Your posts are not replete without a reference to one of the most disgraceful human beings on this planet.Your drooling at the very mention of his name leaves no one in doubt about your true self-fake! The whole world can see through your posts and i would want to commend your "friends"for being really true and coming to your aid when all seems to collapse as always when you try and sing the praises of your master! I leave you with a phrase~since you tout your expensive education so much,it would not be difficult for you to arrive at.It's called dissociative identity disorder.Write it down somewhere~it's also one of the numerous ailments you do suffer from apart from the others. Please tell your "friends" that they too unfortunately suffer from the same malaise that troubles your soul too! lewa dabs eyes |
needed,or egghead or whatever your name is-you are a disgrace to the very profession you claim!Rabble rousing and posturing would not be of much help here! Why not go Kano,Gusau or Daura and instigate the genocide of innocents as your forebearers have been doing?Starting an ethnic/tribal/religious riot would really prove your asinine, mediavial, archaic, outlandish views.Sicko! Not to worry,i feel your frustation.Call on the Ummah maim, kill plunder rape. C'mon don't be a fool-never stereotyped, but once again people prove the very idea that the North is just a region of mischief makers.Belloti,Dansamani, dranoel, laudate come out o!Josboy wey you? |

This is one more reason why Nigeria will continue its downward slide into retrogression.David!David!David!I am bseside myself with laughter!Go boy! You're the mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn |
Hey Fac, you could be surprised! |

It's a democracy afterall, they have every right to protest! |
Man get your facts right before you get verbal with people, in Britain one of such countries who we are borrowing this concept of democracy fromHmm!Ok!I hope you have a grasp of what you are about to say! The conservatives had a very rigorous election process in which David Cameron emerged the the winner defeating old horses like David Davids (elected).Well? While the Liberal Democrats saw the emergence of Sir Menzies Campbell in what could be described as a coup of some sought. The previous party learder Charles Kenedy was ousted for reasons of being an Alchoholic, while 2 front runners to the party election where blackmailed into resigning as a result of scandals involving sexual relation with men, one of such persons is Mark Oaten. The whole dramma was pointing somewhere, someone could actually be behind this plot and the Liberal Democrats had no choice but to adopt Old man Sir Minzies Campbell who was then the party deputy leader as its new Party leader (selected).I did follow those events and can't recall anyone saying that there was some innvisible hand guiding the leakage of people's past indiscretions. In politics your life comes under scrutiny, especially for high office.Whatever happened to the Lib Dems,Menzies had no opposition period.People were angling for an election,it did not take place since no one was able to step to the plate so to say and the Old Man emerged. There's no add and fast rule in politics.Certain steps must take place and my premise is that in Nigeria it's all faulty!Or are you saying that Menzies was imposed on the party? The Labour Party, on the otherhand, are on a crucial debate whether after the exit of Tony Blair, Gordon Brown should be an automatic leader (inheritance) or whether there should actually be a contest. some of such names totuted to engage Brown in a contest is David Miliband who himself has publicly proclaimed he is happy to serve under the leadership of Gordon Brown.Brown has been often refered to as PM in waiting.Whatever leads to his emergence would be open and transparent not what happens in our backyard! THE MORAL OF THE WHOLE STORY IS EVEN IN THE WEST WHERE THE PRACTICE OF DEMOCRACY ORIGINATED, PARTIES HAVE THE CHOICE TO CHOOSE THEIR PARTY LEADER AS THEY SO WISH SO I DONT KNOW WHO BETWEEN US IS MAKING A PREPOSTEROUS ASSERTION. I WILL LEAVE THAT DECISION TO YOU.Apart from GB,what other arsenal is there to deploy? The practise of democracy does not involve cloak and dagger mysteries,it's open, fair, transparent and ultimately sincere to the benefit of party faithfuls and the general society at large! That is my premise.Primaries does not mean that a single candidate cannot emerge, but must conform to the very tenets of democracy the party hopes to defend at some point. Over to you! |
Utomi has the pedigree to run as president more than any other pretender to Aso Rock, Help me ask the man that bragged about Utomi's pedigreeCompared to Buhari,Kalu,Bafarawa,Atiku, Yar'adua! This is not about being a professor. That idea is just plain silly. This is not the forum to be rehashing the man's resume.Anyone familiar with corporate Nigeria would know Pat and as it is now i have nothing further to say. Those supporting and telling Utomi he can win are like those telling Atiku that come May 29, OBJ will hand over to him. Lack of sincerity.Haw haw!Good for you.The man has every right to aspire and for those wishing the best for the country at large are at best not sincere? You come and once in a while advocate the reason why lobotomy is excellent for people needing it.So what is wrong in people wishing their principal well? You come across as a person that would swear on both scales, equivocal ,indeterminate, dubitable.Obj,quack that he is would not want a good leader to succeed him. The man scuttled the last Constitutional confab, wasted oil revenues, impoverished the nation and would gladly pilot the mantle of leadership to his ilk.If he was sincere about moving this nation forward, why not allow for an open election-not the chaotic scene we have now.Not to digress,OBJ would hand over to a fellow dunce, like he did in'79!Utomi might not win,as i have said earlier but it's a step in the right direction.Time for a new renaissance |
What a shame! My heartfelt condolences to the wife and child. May, the Almighty, most benevolent and kind grant him eternal rest. Nigeria! shakes head |
People should be courageous in addressing those that expose their benightedness, cheap pot shots typify certain compatriots |
Twas either Abiola Irele or Biodun Jeyifo that coined the term national "chin chin"!That is apt ![]() |
The statement might be shallow and disappointing to you because you have failed to face reality. Are you in bondage that you need anyone to liberate you?Haw!So the problems of kleptocracy, underdevelopment, lack of potable water, high unemployment, galloping inflation all in the guise of the end result of mis rule cannot be ascribed to as bondage under a bandwagon of bandits, murderers and other akin wayfarers? You bros wallow in abject callowness! What pedigree? State what makes him outstanding or most suited for the jobMr!Go read up on Pat. His achievements and personae dwarf that of anyone aspiring to Aso Rock.Don't go naive here!. raised the same issue of rotational presidency meaning North and South as against the 6 geopolitical zones with a former presidential aspirant in my office and my take is this: Rotational presidency cannot work if you are looking at the 6 zones as you stated because it means that power can and will most likely be retained by the South or the North for a possible 24 years (2 terms each for the 3 zones in either South or North).Good for you and your nameless politician! So who says power can't be rotated amongst 6 geo-political zones? What are the demerits? What you espouse is just lame. Nigeria is a peculiar country with unusual demographies. If the center is weak in a federal system that can work if the constitution is amended. The presidential system concentrates so much power in one individual and this is not right.A loose center, regional control of resources would be helpful to douse the simmering tensions in Nigeria. The issue transcends North or South, but rather that every one ought to have a shot at the highest office for equity. It's rather sad that as a people,we have no constitution we have agreed to but rather some document drawn by the military to guide us. Those that love the status quo would never ascribe to changing the constitution to make way for progress.Rotational doesn't mean that a region must be in power for two/three terms.Your premise once again is faulty here. However, it seems that your emotions may have taken over a greater part of you so discussing this issue based on its merits and demerits may not work.Au contraire!Mr! Only very very few believe that power belongs to a cabal and I do not believe in so neither should such thinking make sense to begin with.Interesting! The same people got rid of the dark goggled guy and Aare Kakanfo, put up OBJ and want it back. Where do you live-K Pax? |
Again the situations people get themselves into i tire. I was just talking with my sis the other night about women who trap men with pregnancies like bloody hell, whats wrong with these women. Okay i understand, there's the biological clock thing, there's the society pressure, there's the wanting to be taken care of (invalid?) Standing against the tide is not easy but man, think! Have some conscience for crying out loud, in blindly trying to accomplish or get something, one is ruining the life of another which may inturn ruin the life of the unborn child. FullstopAs we de talk no gucking! |
Only in America. Now Nancy Grace would not leave us alone! |
Stew him!He don't send you!If he was a bro would he want to harm you? |
How parties choose their party leader is entirely up to them, it could be elective, selective or by inheritance.Preposterous!Which democracy does not allow for primaries?Which democracy does not have open primaries? So we are allowed to go along with a promise that is flawed from the onset! I will not like to speculate on what you are trying to potray by the word "sham" but going by the dictionary definition of the word as "something that is not what it purports to be; a spurious imitation; fraud or hoax"Your guess is as good as mine! I now ask, how is the AC congress not a spurious immitation? The AC was formed to pursue the Presidential ambition of Atiku Abubarkar. Why pretend to have a Presidential primaries during party congress when you have a predetermined Presidential candidate. Is'nt that a sham??Did you see me endorse AC in any post? Please keep to specifics. No undue unwarranted digression |
So, for an Utomi that does not even understand the power equation in Nigeria today, wanting to become president, it shows that he does not even understand Nigeria well. Not only presumptuous and shallow also disappointing! So because certain people see it fit that the destiny of 180 million people is theirs to do as fit must we look back arms akimbo and pray that some form of miracle would just happen to liberate us? Perhaps some mafia of some sort may deem it that power belongs to them, but wasn't it a sage that said the man dies in him who keeps quiet in the face of tyranny? Utomi has the pedigree to run as president more than any other pretender to Aso Rock, and it's a pity that the so called power rotation you seem to espouse with much relish should go to the S/S OR S/E as the case may be for equity and fairplay. We all seem to forget this and if we were to have rational leaders and honest Nigerians the elect elections would be about issues not some random guy being sold to Nigerians as capable of leading us. Utomi might not win,but the consciousness he's elicited by this run for presidency shows that negativism and pessimism which seem to be the hallmark of certain people would always be rubbished.Change starts with a single effort and as the Chinese say the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. One day,the gross idea that power belongs to a cabal would be confined to the waste-bins of history |
Umaru Musa Ya'adua is a stooge. His nomination or should i say adoption by OBJ on behalf of PDP to be foisted on Nigeria was undemocratic. Now would a principled man, a man with integrity, above board be subject to the sham of a congress PDP arranged to make him their flag bearer? Don't be fooled, the man would be worse than OBJ |
