Learn to speak it first and foremost. Then learn to recognise all the kana and a bit of kanji. I just remembered that sometimes when kanji is used in a word or sentence, they write some kana characters above it to help people to identify the word.

No. Spanish doesn't really share the same roots with English (except you're considering the entire Indo-European language family). Spanish has its roots mainly in Latin (the Romance languages) and in an old Celtic language (probably a language that sounds like Gaelic). However, you're right, it's easy to pronounce and learn, but noun gender nightmares. What's really funny is that English and German share the same roots

Do your research man, I am not there. Apart from discussions and a lot of research I don't really know much about the place. All I can say is that many who go there end up as English teachers, or software developers(quite rare).

Yah that's true. But if a Japanese person speaks very slowly, they're more likely to pronounce it in full. This may change years from now because languages are usually mutated because of the laziness of it's speakers

You're very correct. I had a culture shock when I went there. Very nice country,great food, beautiful ladies ( who like staring alot especially if you're black) . Their studio apartments are very nice although very small(everything is automated). But u see the language wahala, that is the main problem.
