We are a major crude oil producer, yet we have struggled for years to get our refineries working efficiently.

JPMorgan is coming to make profit, not to rescue Nigeria. If its presence brings investment, fine. But Nigerians need functioning refineries, reliable electricity, affordable living and jobs.

A country that celebrates foreign banks while struggling to refine its own crude oil needs to rethink its priorities.

Nigerians cannot eat investor confidence; they need results that improve their lives.

These officers already have pensions, so why approve salaries for life for a select few? What about doctors, engineers, professors, teachers and even lower-ranking immigration officers who never become chiefs? Don't their years of service count?

If their pensions are inadequate, reform the pension system for everyone.

Governance is about fairness and the welfare of all citizens, not creating special privileges for a few while millions of retirees struggle to survive.
