CrimeIncrease In Crime Rate In Lagos And Ogun Environs Due To Lockdown. by Lifediary(op): 1:50am On Apr 12, 2020
I just smuggled my way out of the hell-hole that is Ifo/Ado Odo-Ota axis of Ogun State now. It's a complete mess. Clearly, the Police are overwhelmed. From Ijaiye through Toll-gate, Dalemo, Sango, Ijoko/Ogba-Ayo, Gasline, Ota, Agbado Crossing, Joju, Oniyale, Iyana-Ilogbo, all the way to Ifo, tension is high among folks in those communities as we speak. The bad boys are ransacking homes in broad daylight, carting away money and foodstuff. Three separate individuals in Ijoko told me they came last night, carting away money and anything edible they could lay their hands on. Hungry lots.
.
The somewhat heartwarming part is that community members have largely stood against them in the last five days, observing vigils amid bonfires. Yet, sadly, at least two people have died in one community in Ijoko, their heroic moves unsung, their gallantry buried in the midst of the chaos. As scary as the tweets being directed at the do-nothing OGSG on Twitter via the #OgunUnrest hashtag are, they are for me a tip of the iceberg of what obtains in that axis of the state NOW. A two-day peregination of these areas have shown me far worse developments.
.
I spoke to a man in Joju who narrated how they invaded their homes around noon Thursday. Some hungry boys with tiny necks, they came wielding POS machine, baying for blood and money and Semovita. So pervasive have the boys become that Police now reject SOS messages, multiple residents confirmed this to me. I did try the emergency numbers, too, earlier today. No luck. Overwhelmed.
.
The sociological makeup of this part of the stae shows that it's traditionally the hideout of retired criminals and promising urchins, many of whom Lagos flushed out of its ghettos back in the day. Again, in these communities, at least 60 percent residents are wallowing in abject poverty. I spoke to an aged woman, a pepper seller, who had almost her entire capital swept off by the rampaging boys Wednesday. She spoke to me in ways that suggest that her poverty has found a new nomenclature, defying simple social categorisation. I realise yet again that in this clime, it is expensive to be poor. Pathetic.
.
What's heartbreaking is that in the quest for survival, folks have become very desperate. You stand a very high chance of being lynched if you preach "social distancing" in that axis as I type this. Yesterday, I watched as young men gathered to form a shield around Iyana-Ilogbo, whispering gibberish into one another's ears. It's a pathetic sight. The situation was same in Plaza, where, in the absence of the state, young men mingle freely to devise their own means of ambushing the rascals. But do you blame them for having no regard for a virus they can't "see"-----in the face of devising pushback mechanism against a death-inducing threat they can see and literally feel?
.
When this covid19 phase is finally over, there will be too many heroes for us to recognise. But, sadly, the genuine heroes would go unrecognised, their commendable efforts buried in obscurity. Many of these unsung heroes are in Ifo, Agbado and Ijako areas as I speak now, young boys observing sleepless nights amid fear and piercing sounds of bullets, pushing back against criminality with their bare hands and unusual courage.
.
May they all live to witness the birth of a new dawn.

PoliticsWho Are The Poor Of The Poor And The Vulnerable During Covid-19 In Nigeria Today by Lifediary(op): 10:57am On Apr 11, 2020
Fellow Nairalanders and Nigerians. I greet you all most especially during this Covid-19 pandemic season.
I will want us to discuss who "the poor of the poor and vulnerable people" are in today's Nigeria that is combating Covid-19 pandemic.
Are they those on the so-called social register alone?
Does the poor of the poor include Nigerians that they and their families depend on daily income for survival? Nigerians like Carpenters, Vulcanizers, Petty traders and traders, Mecahnics, Drivers, Conductors, Marketers, etc. You can also add to the list. These are Nigerians that due this present lockdown in some states, the have been rendered and joined the league of the so-called "poor-of-the-poor".
Does the vulnerable according to the government also include those mentioned earlier? That due to the fact that there are no means of survival will become hypertensive and fall sick that is not even due to Coronavirus infection. Does the vulnerable include those due to no daily income to cater for daily family needs will lead to increase domestic misunderstanding and violence at home. Does the vulnerable include those that are now more prone to robbery attacks due to this Lockdown?
Only if we keep on deceiving ourselves are we going to be oblivious to the fact that their is massive hunger in areas were their is complete lockdown.
Only if we keep on deceiving ourselves are going to say that the Government so-called palliatives are getting to real poor of the poor and vulnerable in these lockdown States.
I believe the government should look beyound the so-called social register and man-up to their duties and responsibilities rather than what we are experiencing presently.
My thoughts, feel free to express yours.
Let's discuss what we feel can be done wholesomely and objectively.

NB: there is every possibility that the lockdown will be extended.
HealthRe: Ismael Ahmed: Payment To Nigerians On Social Register Only By President by Lifediary(op): 10:24am On Apr 11, 2020
I am even looking beyound the social register because of the unusual situation we are in presently. There are vulcanizers, Carpenters, petty traders, mecahnics, drivers, conductors, etc who survive by their daily earnings. How are are they going to survive during this time when only what the government is concerned about is the so-called poor of the poor. The government isn't showing consciousness to the fact that the daily survival earners have also become the poor of the poor during this lockdown.
HealthIsmael Ahmed: Payment To Nigerians On Social Register Only By President by Lifediary(op):
The Senior Special Adviser to The President on Social Investment Programme (SIP), Ismaeel Ahm ed was invited on an NTA programme this morning to shed more light on the actions of the presidency towards the welfare of Nigerians during this Covid-19 pandemic. A viewer asked about payment into the account of Nigerians via BVN to help in cushioning the hardships that would be felt by Nigerians during this period. The SSA replied that the President only mentioned payment to Nigerians on the Social Register and Tradermoni.
This now leaves me to question that "What happens to Nigerians In the lockdown states whose existence and family depends on daily means of survival and are not on this so-called Social Register?"

What do you Nairalanders think? Let's discuss wholesomely and objectively.

NB: The signs showing really indicates that the lockdown will be extended.

Hi! I just saw this thread now. I really appreciate you for the good work you doing here. Please, can you send the ebook to my email: allcolonies@gmail.com. Thank you.

IdeasPro:
House, I'm very sorry for the late post. The antispam bot banned me for days when I was posting the last lesson. I couldn't just understand why. And only one good lady in the house reached out to me to ask why nothing has been posted.

Anyway, the lesson continues.

We’re in Lesson 5 today. Welcome back!

How to Make $500 Per Month Online.

One of us here following this thread sent me a mail on a personal level asking me to walk her through an online business model that can make $500 per month online for her. I loved her direct question so much I decided to treat it as an integral part of these lessons in today’s post. If she is reading this text, I'll advise her to join my digital marketing training coaching students and the rest will be history.

Goal setting is very important to success in life and business generally. It helps you to get yourself focused and accountable to any project. So, I want to quickly answer this question for her and others who may have the same desire to earn money online at the level.

Let’s break down her income goal of $500 per month into income goal per day. I’m assuming 30 days in a month. So, the daily income she should expect to earn is:

$500/30 days = $16.67/Day

Reasonably, some days you may not earn any income at all and some days you can double or triple that amount of money. That’s okay! From the above calculation, you can promote an affiliate product, sell freelance business services or even sell your own product if you have and it should be above $20 per sale in order to reach your goal.

But making $16.67 a day is easy if you promote affiliate products to a highly targeted market who are willing and able to buy the product/service. For an affiliate product, all you need is to find a good affiliate product that pays a commission of $20 and above per sale.

And before you choose any product you want to promote, you’ve to consider the location of your target market. Promoting an affiliate product with a price tag of $50 and above to the Nigerian market is a big deal. You may not sell and you'll not be able to meet your goal. You’ve to consider locations like the US, Canada, and UK markets.

The first free ebook which I posted for download on this thread is on affiliate marketing business. If you go through it you’ll understand all the steps required to set up your website blog properly. The only area you have to continually work on is writing quality articles to publish on your blog, optimizing your blog for search engine optimization (SEO), building backlinks from authority websites, and analyzing your web analytics in order to improve on your online marketing activities.

You must also learn to write a product review blog post that professionally pre-sells any affiliate product or service.

To choose an affiliate product, here are some of the factors I always take into consideration:

-The product must solve a serious pain point e.g. health and fitness issues, weight loss, lifestyle, jobs, travel, etc.
-The landing page for the affiliate product is clean, attractive and with convincing sales copy.
-The affiliate commission is $15 and above per sale.

For example, a beautiful young lady with acne (i.e. pimples) and eczema all over her face will not hesitate to buy a product that promises to clean her up. A young guy who has lost his job and don’t want to lose his girlfriend/fiancée to someone else will quickly search for jobs to apply to. If you recommend a job search guide that promises to teach him how to get a job in record time, he may not hesitate to buy it from your link.

As soon as you grab your affiliate link, build a simple website, optimize and monetize your blog.

The final step is to create a digital marketing plan to start getting targeted traffic to your blog and follow it religiously.

Another integral part of making money online is building an email list of subscribers. You’ve to evaluate every market to decide whether to set up an autoresponder to build an email list of subscribers or not. For example, I promote “phone lookup” service to the US market and I earn money online from it but I hardly build an email list from it.

If you’re a beginning internet marketer it may look daunting at first but don’t give up. If you feel you’re not getting it right, hire a coach and it will help you to reduce your steep learning curve. Otherwise, you can read and read all the available free information on the World Wide Web and still succeed.

Above all, don’t ever make it look like you’re selling. People hate to be sold to. First, be helpful and in doing so you can now recommend products and services that will make the lives of your target audience better. Your job is to educate, inform and entertain your blog readers about the topics they are interested in and weave in affiliate product link.

For example, I wrote a simple guide on how to create Payoneer account which is a good alternative to PayPal. I’ll post the download link for the free pdf ebook later for you to review and learn from.

You’ll succeed!

Yours truly,
Ideaspro.

PS: For all those awaiting my free ebook on affiliate marketing guide, I will send it. Please bear with me, it is work load. Thank you.
