EducationSchool Take Over: Kwara In View by LifeQuest(op):
1. The beginning of problems in primary and secondary school education sector in Nigeria is traceable to Schools Take-Over (Validation) Decree of 1977. That decree validated the takeover of mission and voluntary agency schools by state military governors through their respective edicts.

2. The Decree ousted the jurisdiction of courts to entertain suits on schools takeover and voided all cases in courts on the issue. It made payment of compensation to owners of schools taken over by government discretionary.

3. Schools takeover by the military governments was a misadventure. That was the beginning of the rot in the primary and secondary school system. According to a retired school principal: “You know that all the big schools we had in the country at that time produced the best and most of the big names in our society. They were all mission schools".

For people who are quite familiar with Kwara State would see the list as very lopsided aids granting. No mention of Christian mission schools that they want to be wearing hijab. These missions still labour to maintain the facilities somehow.

THE TRUTH ABOUT AID GRANTING TO SCHOOLS FOUNDED BY MISSIONARIES IN KWARA

1. The taking over of the schools seems like an agenda by non Christians to have what they could not build.

a. Most guys at the helms of affairs in Kwara State from Islamic religion attended mission schools.

b. While at mission schools even after the takeover the issue of hijab did not arise. So why now?

2. Government is no granting aids but just paying salaries. The missions were paying their staff and taking care of their schools- well tended lawn, beautiful trees, orchards, well equipped libraries before government took over- the two primary schools I attended had libraries, well equipped home economics labs, etc which I met but the last Christmas, I wept seeing most of the classes in ruins.

3. The clamour for hijab is beyond allowing a piece of veil to cover for an identity

a. It is a gradual process to wipe out Christian identity from the mission schools

b. There have been running battle to build mosque at St.Anthony, Mt Camel, C&S, Bishop Smith, ECWA Oja-iya, Baptist Surulere, St Barnabas etc. Some of the schools are located inside church premises. It is known fact that Islam loves public expressions, a desire to be noticed at all cost at the expense of the peace of others

c. This could be an attempt to wrestle the privileges of the mission to appoint qualified members of their missions as principals. It could be a case of Alh. Isiaka Okelele- the Principal of St. Barnabas Anglican School, Sabo Oke, Ilorin.

CONCLUSION
I will rather suggest Kwara State CAN should study the agreement between government and the mission in 1974 to take action. Also, when schools were taken over, it was by decree which forbade any court action by the mission. Can it be challenged under democracy? After all the decay, the rot in the facilities in the various mission schools that government supposed to be responsible for no be here.

I don't know why government does not appoint the local board for these schools but the mission. Why do we like to copy and paste knowing for a fact that we live in different clime in Nigeria full of different culture, ethnicity and religion.

It is now very clear that the Nigerian Army acted within the ambience of the law.

Section 33 sub 2 of Nigerian constitution has justified their act:

The section states;
(2) A person shall not be regarded as having been deprived of his life in contravention of this section, if he dies as a result of the use, to such extent and in such circumstances as are permitted by law, of such force as is reasonably necessary –

(a) for the defence of any person from unlawful violence or for the defence of property:

(b) in order to effect a lawful arrest or to prevent the escape of a person lawfully detained; or

(c) for the purpose of suppressing a riot, insurrection or mutiny
Really? Whatever happens to rubber bullets and canisters? Just asking you. The clamour was not insurrection but an end to brutality and bad governance. Is that too much to ask for?

Be sincere with yourself in the process. Be ready not to go back that road after your confession. Pray about it. Prepare her mind towards the confession. Don't blame it on anyone except yourself. Be remorseful, it is going to be difficult going through it together but I bet it with you, she will be willing to have her husband she fell in love with back

I think the most honourable thing to do is to confess to your wife. This may be hard thing to do but it is the best option for you. If your wife truly loves you, your confession will help the healing process of your marriage. With confession, no one will have anything not known to your wife against you. Some have been that road before. It was their confessions that helped them out.

Banking loosely started earlier than 1894 in what is now known as Nigeria.

Commercial banking started in Nigeria in 1872 with the establishment of the African Banking Corporation. It distributed the Bank of England notes for the British Treasury. The First Bank of Nigeria, then the Bank of British West Africa, was set up in 1894 followed by the Barclays Bank,
DCO in 1917 (now known as Union Bank of Nigeria).
Christianity EtcRe: What Is Backsliding? And How Can A Person Recover? by LifeQuest(m): 9:05am On Aug 09, 2020
Patrik007:
To backslide, according to Merriam-Webster, is "to lapse morally or in the practice of religion."

Backsliding may mean that we now spend less time studying God's Word or praying. It may mean we meet less often with brothers and sisters in the Lord, or that we look for fewer opportunities to "do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." (Gal. 6:10) Or it may mean we don't try as hard to be "an example of the believers." (I Tim. 4:12) If this is true, we need to identify a cause.

The number of hours spent reading the Bible or serving others is not necessarily an indicator of our dedication to the Lord. At times, job requirements or specific responsibilities can keep us from giving time to Christian activities, and it's not due to lukewarmness. (Remember, that in your workday obligations you can still let your light shine. "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men."

[Eph. 6:7, NIV] )
The danger is in letting earthly responsibilities or attractions become more important than the Lord. "Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (I Pet. 5:8, NIV)

In the King James Bible, the word "backsliding" is found only in the Old Testament (Hosea 14:4). But the New Testament is filled with admonitions to be careful, persevering, and fervent in our devotion to the Lord, in order to avoid going "backwards" in our Christian walk.

If we realize we have become more interested in social activities and the beckoning world around us, or if we find we are developing a coolness toward Bible study, or becoming careless about sin, we need to seek immediate help from our Heavenly Father. Any joys we might experience from worldly activities or pleasures are short-lived and disappointing. We need to ask God to forgive us for seeking comfort and happiness through the things of this world and to ask Him to renew our trust in Him and His Son and in His precious promises of the Kingdom.

The book of Hosea deals in detail with Israel's backsliding and the sorrowful consequences of it. In the last chapter Hosea instructs Israel to plead with the LORD to take away their sin; then God answers, "I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for mine anger is turned away from him,” Hosea 14:4. If we earnestly pray to God, He will heal our backsliding as well! The process of recovery teaches us to re-ignite our love for our Heavenly Father and again to renew our complete devotion to Him.
