RomanceRe: Email Exchange Between Sugabelly And Mustapha Audu by LightofEarendil: 10:33am On Nov 28, 2015
Interesting. It's certainly a good thing to always hear both sides of the story.
But I am curious at the part where she had vision of rape when she saw the bed. She sounded like someone reliving a traumatic memory. Could she have had an experience of one before? She also said something about telling Mustapha about it later.

This is what happens when NL mods are more interested in site traffic than being a reliable source of information and news.
At least, the mod should do some simple check before moving posts to the front-page.
PoliticsRe: Bishop Matthew Kukah Diagnoses Buhari And Nigeria by LightofEarendil: 2:56pm On Oct 04, 2015
ADAMUdaCOWBOY:
Kuka is intelligent you can't take that from him, but what has he ever done to correct gej's cluelessness? Nothing. Kuka is just using finely crafted lines; a deceptive veil of objectivity to conceal his partisanship. I still feel disappointed and betrayed by him and other clergies like him that failed to tell gej the truth
True men of God are always careful to be partisan in any way and like the One whom they represent, always be ready to tell the truth in love. God is fair and not a respecter of persons, so should be his messengers.
The same Samuel that annointed Saul was called upon to reject him later and annointed David in his place. He loved Saul and always wanted to help him, but had to submit to God when Saul crossed the line.
Any man of God that openly and sentimentally supports a leader should be careful, for the same God that ask them to bless such leader could also call on them to judge the same leader if he errs.

Watched his presentation live. Very erudite and accomplished orator, but only succecced in largely hiding his cynicism for the country in many flowery words.
People like this have been part of the Nigeria problems and not really made any real and felt impact on the common man. This are bishops who have been caught up and tainted by the politics of many years so much that they only now echo sentiments beyond the word of God. Whatever happened to "thus said the Lord" or "it is written..."
I expect our MOGs to use the Scriptures as light to light up the ways of our Leaders and bring them under check. That is the only thing that is light to our ways and lamp to our path.
Obviously, he was silent like many others through the evils and ills of the last administration for obvious reasons. That we begin to hear them again prior to the election and after GEJ's loss speaks the truth louder than any expertly delivered oration.
PoliticsRe: Angry Worshippers Attack Saraki, Emir, Ex-minister, Dignitaries by LightofEarendil: 2:44pm On Sep 24, 2015
Here in Ibadan. The usual air of festivities appeared tamed. Even those i saw today going for prayers this morning do not look excited. Everything seems subdued.
Many families relying on the government to pay a backlog of salaries owed them have not been able to buy the things they nees for this celebration. I am sure the facts that this coincide with school resumption would have stretched people's finances during this period.
I heard the governor paid one month salary yesterday instead of the 3 month promised the workers.
At least, those one if possible will be able to buy ram and meet the expenses that come with days like these.
For those in other states like Osun, I hope workers who are Muslims will have reason to smile and enjoy the day.
We should start holding our rulers accountable. We should not watch them steal our sustenance and the future of our children while they criminally secure those of themselves and their unborn generations
PoliticsRe: Senate And Buhari's Body Language - Magnus Oladesu (Vanguard) by LightofEarendil: 11:14am On Sep 19, 2015
Let them fight and let the guilty be punished. I do not care whether it is witchhunt or not. The question is if he is guilty as charged or not.
As long as they are united in their theivery, Nigerians lose. We know all of them have issues, but as long as they unite and cover up for one another, we the common citizens lose.
God will continue to throw confusion in the camps of our enemies and cause them to turn on themselves. At the end, we good people of Nigerians will be left standing.
Who could have thought it would be Saraki's turn today after many years of impunity and coverups? Same lesson should be learned by those in control now, that their works will find them out, sooner or later so they should be careful to use their power for the good of the people.
God is working in Nigeria, and He can use anyone and any system to accomplish His plan - both the godly and the ungodly. All we need to do is continue to watch and pray, then see the enemies of this nation turn their swords on themselves in what someone earlier called Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).
God is however merciful, but only towards those who will repent and humble themselves. His patience and longsuffering should not be interpreted as weakness, in the fullness of time when their cups are full, He will come with judgement. The mills of God it is said, grind slowly, but how exceedingly it does!

PoliticsRe: Saraki:CCT Does Not Have Equal Jurisdiction With the High court- Agbakoba by LightofEarendil: 8:50am On Sep 19, 2015
The truth is that Nigerians will never get justice as long as those who steals from us are united in their stealing and robbery.
The only hope we can look to is when cracks appear and they turn on themselves. If a man doesn't get justice because the offender and the one who should bring him to justice are good pals, it only makes sense to pray that whatever unites them will break down so he can get justice.
The important thing is that every wicked politician in Nigeria will be brought to justice. For those shouting Tinubu and others, their cups are not yet full. God has their numbers and when the time comes, they will face their own music. It may take years, but if lies continue for many years, truth will catch up with it one day.
The worst thing we can do is allow these guys use us to continue in their stealing and penanche for avoiding justice.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Bows To Pressure, Reverses Ban On 113 Oil Vessels by LightofEarendil: 11:03am On Sep 12, 2015
This can be seen in two different ways, either the government was hasty or it is being strategic. Hasty if this was a kneejerk action and strategic if the aim is to warn these owners of what could come if those guilty do not desist. The important thing is to look out for the nation's interest in all these and not those of some capitalists who can do anything for gain.
And for those always looking to call the president names and abuse him for every little issue that appears to be negative and never deem it worthy to commend on the positive, it is a sad way to live for the next 4 years.
Sustained bitterness and unforgiveness against fellow men is self-destructive. One can only live and progress on negative emotions for a little while.
Resentment, hate, anger and bitterness does nothing than holds us prisoners, and letting go is experiencing true freedom
PoliticsRe: Governors, Ministers Must Declare Assets – Buhari by LightofEarendil: 9:19am On Sep 08, 2015
It is interesting to see so much focus on PMB assest declaration. I wish so much pressure can be put on those of Government at the State and LG level.
In fact, the pressure on PMB should be reversed and put on our State governors and officials. Without this, true dividends of democracy will continue to elude us.
PoliticsRe: Improved Power Supply Is Not Sustainable, Electricity Employees Explain by LightofEarendil: 9:39am On Sep 06, 2015
Sad that no matter what, some do not just want to see the nation progress under this administration ignoring the fact that we all get to benefit from it.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Leader May Be The Least Corrupt In Africa- Washington Post by LightofEarendil: 6:31pm On Sep 05, 2015
What a continent Africa is! So blessed and endowed but sadly ruled by wicked and power-drunk men.
Nigeria may not be a Paradise, but she's certainly better off than some sister nations in Africa.
I cannot imagine how hopeless I will be in the other countries mentioned. Where do oppositions even want to start from? How can one family take over a whole country in this age!
For once, I'm grateful to God how far Nigeria has come.
PoliticsRe: Union Bank vs Buhari Trending On Twitter (pics) by LightofEarendil: 7:46am On Sep 04, 2015
Interesting. About a year ago, my mum who is 70+ asked me to follow her to her Bank. It felt strange walking into Union Bank that day. 80% of the customers in the Bank that day were around my mum's age, many of them pensioners. Even the staff were not the typical types I am used to.
I joked about this with my mum when we stepped out and she laughed. She told me she opened the account when she started working in a government hospital about 40 years back.
Maybe the Bank deserves more credit than they get now, just wonder how they will cope once this generation of customers pass away.
PoliticsRe: Let's Look At Buhari's Appointments From Another Angle by LightofEarendil: 12:20am On Aug 29, 2015
Hmmm. When I first heard the news, I was a bit disappointed at the appointment. But then I asked myself why it is so important that we "share" out these appointments equally and what benefits will it get me.
I thought back over the last 16 years and wondered what benefits have I enjoyed from this kind of arrangement.
I thought of friends and families who have stayed out of the country in far lands where they have no ethnic recognition just because things work better in these places.
In my state, no one seems to care how the government is ran. Everyone is fixated on the FG. Truth is that if Nigeria is to change for the better, some things just have to change. Well, its hard to predict how this government will fare, but I welcome the fact that we are being forced to ask some tough questions on why we need to keep doing things the same way and expect better results
PoliticsRe: Femi Kayode Lists Political Offices Held By Northerners by LightofEarendil: 9:26am On Aug 28, 2015
How convenient is it for these politicians to throw up ethnic sentiments when it serves them. If the north has been so blessed with having ruled this country, you will expect the north to be a paradise and not the poverty and terrorist enclave it is. The truth is that an average notherner has largely not benefited in any way from their elites ruling this nation for a long period.
Same goes for other parts of the nation.
Ultimately, where a government official comes from does not directly impact the life of the citizens except it's political and business elite. They live on that, and only use us as pawns in their version of game of thrones.
Many youth run out to other countries not caring whether those governing them there are from their states or tribe, they just want to survive and fulfill their potentials.
We have been so conditioned in this country to think that appointment of people from my region or state and down to village is the ONLY obligation the government has to us, while the real dividend of governance are swept aside and trivialized.
I doubt if Americans bothers if those representing them are Chinese, Russians, African Americans when it comes to governance delivery.
We might be a nation, but we are psychologically different nations. At the Federal, State, LGA and village level, we are mentally stuck in our groupings.
If for one thing, I think PMB unconventional and radical approach will force us to ask ourselves serious questions about what really matters in living a triumphant and fulfilling life under a progressive and performing government. All I know is that irrespective of those who had held positions in the past, the average people from their groups have little to show for it - East, West, North and South.
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa PDP Chairman, Tiimi Alaibe, 1,100 Other PDP Members Defect To APC by LightofEarendil: 9:35pm On Aug 15, 2015
Whatever happens to principles? At the end, those who will be left behind in PDP may be considered the real and true PDP while those who jumped ship would be seen as traitors.
Unfortunately for these ex-PDP guys, they may never truly be seen as genuine APC. The APC in Bayelsa should get ready for some internal wrangling as these new guests struggle for power and relevance in APC.
If PDP is smart, these could be a silver lining behind a dark cloud.
As for APC, this may seriously hurt them in the long run.
PoliticsRe: Hajo Sani Is Special Assistant (Admin), Office Of The Wife Of The President by LightofEarendil: 12:10am On Aug 15, 2015
Hmmm. Nigerians! Is it not enough to call the woman and offer your congratulations or even send a card. Does it need taking full pages in national dailes?
What really is the purpose? Call to national service should elicit a sober and serious response not these usual jamboree.
PoliticsRe: Fayose To Buhari: Remove New INEC Boss, Amina Zakari Now by LightofEarendil: 9:10pm On Aug 09, 2015
Fayose may have a case but releasing official press statements on every issues like these is not something he should make a practice. Makes you wonder if he now plays the role of PDP spokesperson or is a designated opposition mouthpiece.
He should leave this to his party and concentrate on turning around the fortune of Ekiti state. And if he has aspirations for future political role at the national level in the future, he should do that by leaving a lasting legacy of good governance in Ekiti by the expiration of his tenure.
People should tell that to others like Oshiomole and El-Rufai too, there are enough issues on their homefront to take their time and energy than struggling for opposition roles at the national level.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Orders Takeover Of Nigerian Airspace From Ghana by LightofEarendil: 8:47am On Aug 06, 2015
I think I am impressed at the systematic manner PMB is approaching governance. Taking time to be personally briefed by each Ministry even before appointing ministers will really help him have a fair and independent assessment of situations in these places not completely dependent on the eventual minister's assessment.
Knowing that the president has ealier dealt directly with the PSs before their appointments and probably still maintains personal rapport with them will also put the Ministers on their toes and encourage them to deal professionally and respectably with the the PS and not run the Ministries as their own personal kingdoms.
The fact that power changed hands between 2 different especially with PDP having being in charged for 16 years leaves a dicey sensitive situations in which APC need to redefine and lay the foundation for its own value and culture and mode of operation or it may end up running a system it has no control over. It's like allowing your opponent to dictate your game in football rather than you dictating the game.
Anyone who inherit a job from a previous opponent who is not happy he lost the position he had occupied for years should naturally be careful of what is handed over to him.
PMB would actually be doing himself or Nigeria a big injustice if he didn't take time to lay a proper foundation for this administration. If the foundation is faulty, the next four years would achieve little. So let us be patient with the government, give them the needed support and leave them no excuse by the the next election comes calling. To me, demanding for immediate results at this stage is an unnecessary distraction.
