Romance / Re: What Is The Approximate Right Age For Marriage? by lilian777(f): 10:41am On Nov 09, 2007
Before two people come together in holy matrimony, both should be mature enough and ready.A guy of 38 who lived a triangular life in school may still want to do the things he didnt do when married and an 18 year old married girl, still full of life may run away with your Meiguard or Driver when you are busy touring the whole world on official assignment.Watch it! Ask yourself if you are ready to be tied to one person for the rest of your life. Then do it only when u must have honestly answered your question, male or female.
Literature / Nysc Service - Year,last Time To Be Irresposible? by lilian777(f): 10:10am On Nov 09, 2007
I remember the day i was to go to my NYSC Orientation Camp,an uncle and the wife told me to come and see them before i leave.I did that early in the morning before i left. They sat me down and after small talks pregnant with meaning,my aunt saw me to the door. While i was exchanging good byes with them my aunt whispered aloud,"This is your last time to be irresponsible!."

Did i understand what she meant by that? Not at all! I thought she mearnt  "The games people play in Camp and throughout Service Year." As time went by ,after service year,I found myself responsible for many decisions i make, actions i take ,bills and every ills.Today, i work and take care of my stuff with little assistance from family(that is, if they want o!). Could this have been what she meant or did she just mean i could play for one year afterwhich , whatever!

I look at the new Corps Members now and i wonder if they know that they don't  even have time to be irresponsible,  nobody does or should.Hence,i can't help darting my mind to that very morning and that pregnant piece of advice. What do ya'll think one should do with that one year?
Culture / Re: Nigerians Don't Commit Suicide? by lilian777(f): 3:11pm On Sep 26, 2007
Again, a guy committing suicide just because of an extra year is questionable. There's more to it that meets the eye.
Culture / Re: Nigerians Don't Commit Suicide? by lilian777(f): 3:05pm On Sep 26, 2007
As a typical Nigerian, how many times have you ever thought of suicide as an option to end frustration?Or, is anybody going to deny never to have been frustrated at some point in life? what you answer yourself gives you an answer to this question. My own opinion- Nigerians rarely commit suicide, Period!

Politics / Re: Youths Chase Women In Trousers In Abia State by lilian777(f): 1:29pm On Sep 26, 2007
People must always find something to talk about.Tribe, religion ,trivial issues like women wearing trousers ,tara- tara -tara-tara.On the contrary, if people don't diss each other like this, nairaland won't be fun. Each thread is a means to spit fire, feel the fire, make friends and make foes. So, go on ya'll ,diss each other while people like me sit back and cool off reading your "stinkers!" while on or after a hard day's job.Uhmn,i'm thinking, maybe we should start giving out accolades to the highest Disser. Some people can't do a day without it, u know.Let me know what u think, the press will like to know too cos if they compile all your disses,it will make a good Jest Column in a Periodical.Shalom!

hummmmm.Would i be wrong to say that i've heard someone sing that "love don't cost a thing?" This has been an issue over time but, lets face it, things work better when there's a balanced equation.

wow! do i feel alive anytime such topics are discussed?
@ Poster.

Bros u do well.My poetic side? Hummn, let's see.It started when i was 17 in my year one. It was G.S 101 and we were told to write a poem about anything.I wrote on something about nature. It was acknowledged so i discovered that side of me. Though i'd always had a creative side, with drawings, crafts and all , but this latter discovery ,i stuck with.I don't limit myself to writing only romance.I write about anything according to how i'm inspired. Peace to my poetic dudes and dudettes i've always jammed on threads like this, people like Hansiborne, i hail o.And there are so many of you i'm still expecting to see here. Peace ya'll!

@ A.B.A4LIFE

Who send you message?! I'm surprised at such a blunt statement coming from a supposed enlightened adult in this present day and age. There's no iota of truth in what you said.Infact, i'm Igbo and your statement is  "personal" and simply put, disgusting.  sad  whatever your beliefs are, don't atrribute it to igbo norms rather take it back to your family values! The world evolves, people evolve with it. You too should have a paradigm shift.

I even question your location judging from your grammer or maybe you should go get yourself a formal education in a non-ibo speaking place.

Mountains of Viva calls (1)

Sitting on her soul for yet another time
Bound by the fiery shackle of sweet-hatred
For love, they did love her she believed
And bound, they did bound her,
bound by that filthy love
Which endears them yet flares their passion,
Passion to understand her cowardly courage,
to break away.
Die to live was her passion or live, live, Viva in death.
To bend her will was their resolve.

Trust worthy she is, they eloquently cried
for her presence, her presence!
Viva! For Viva she cried. Viva Zapata,
Father’s final words invariably, is final,
She craved for sweet recklessness…Viva
What would it be like to be lost,
lost in your bare mountains?
anger and fear, ignition key to determination

Time to do her own thing, stars shone in her eyes,
enough to see through the dark diamond mine of Solomon
The wooing sound of the wind calls her by name
Faraway in the bare mountains
With a perpetual smile she answered
Viewing the world from an adult’s eye
yet with the innocence of a child

How much I’ve longed for you. Viva
Viva! Viva!! Viva!!!
I taste your rain on my tongue,
Your sun on my back. Ha, freedom is life
No roof, no staff of bread, but only now
Just her faith in her fate is enough
Unbound from the fiery shackle of sweet –sorrow
Freedom is to live. She lives!
Now her soul is in her soul, in its place.

Story of a young girl craving to live her life and be free from parental domination

My Very Own Video

Just like a video machine,
I rewind, and replay…
All the magical moments spent with you,
All the deadpan humor of once in a while,
All the wild and crazy things done with you
I wish, I just keep wishing,
I can keep them as clear as crystal
Or tucked safe somewhere in my heart.

Can I lock these memories in a bottle,
and set them flying calmly-wild like a butterfly,
Or peacefully free as the dove,
anytime I lay my head to sleep?
Oh yes I can…my very own video
Then safely tuck them back in
Only to rewind and replay it over and again
In my dreams, love
In my sweet dreams.

doth the winged life destroy,
but he who kisses the joy as it flies,

Behold the lake

sleek as silver fish out of silence
i settle rest against the sickle tree
to catch a glimpse of it once again
to behold the lake

there's gleam of gold and green and scarlet
as the light fell amongst the leaves and trailing orchids
what a wonderful view, so terrific
the cloying sweetness of it all
the profusion and privacy it affords
from the streets hustle and burstle
like a sanctuary, where i lay my thoughts
bare,against the sun and moon

like a lily flower
i toss my head up
humn,the soft damp air
heavy with the scent of ginger flowers
sleekly fishes jump in and out
sailing spread like a sea bird's wing
running before the night wind

now the sky black and starless
the still waters,now dark
the moon that will rise today ,
a dying moon.
one day, when it rises new and young
with stars so bright
there i'll come in early light
to catch a glimpse of it once more
to behold the lake!
