Unfortunately, ignorance is bliss for a person who is unexposed.
Just the Programming section here alone, there's been multiple threads and discussions for software engineers, front and back end developers majority of who work remotely for companies not even based in Nigeria. Not to mention several instagram-based businesses that are home based, stock traders (many people made boatloads of money in GME stock just weeks ago) and many others. People have put in the hard work to achieve such flexibility in their work life, it did not come in a day.
Opportunities abound everywhere but a person who is ignorant and close minded can not see them.

So I decided to enquire about my next house neighbour (she lives opposite me) because its been long I saw her , only for her husband to tell me that his wife died since Nov last year ... I really felt bad because the man might have thought I had the knowledge of it and decided to keep mute ... we also got into long conversation where he also told me that my neighbour ( a building apart from mine) died in December , I couldn't even muster another word again. . He was like asking me if I travelled for long for me not to realize all of that ..

lol I can relate. I’m usually so unaware with what’s happening around me because I keep to my space but with time I had to change a bit. Sometimes I ask how are you to my neighbors. We really need to keep healthy relationships especially with people around us. Anything can happen and u could need their help .

I would classify myself as an introvert and too selective I choose my words carefully and I don't involve in conversation that won't benefit me or nothing to do with me, I can stay indoor for a whole month I don't interact with people I only greet them and pass which most of them mistake as pride but it's not. "one Sunday I was coming back from church some guys were behind me and discussing one asked who is this fine girl the other one answered with I know her she lives around here and she's a good girl but doesn't talk to people".

When some people would say introvert have low self esteem I do laugh at them, low self esteem has nothing to do with being an introvert, I will rate my self esteem 95% but I'm not social which sometimes i do wish I'm because it is hard sometimes on me I don't have friends or partner, I choose my friends carefully the only close friends I made was in university because we had same academic goal and now have graduated I find it difficult to make new friends.

I may appear proud but once people come close to me they will be like you're such a nice girl one thing I don't like about having a lot of friends is visiting going here and there and unnecessary conversations but if it's someone I love that's what I love, when it comes to communication I prefer having it with my love ones because if I'm not use to you I won't know what to talk about with you and I won't feel comfortable.

introvert has saved me from unnecessary drama because I won't disrespect nor interfere in your personal life and I have gained a lot of respect from it, I talk less only when necessary.

well i wouldn't say i'm introverted but rather an ambivert. people call me ogbanje cus of how i behave, i might be all over something or someone today and tomorrow i act like they don't exist. i stay indoors more than my curtains(cus the wind sometimes blows them outside), reading, eating and practicing my online skills matters to me more than anything. have more than 200 contacts but only call and receive calls from not upto 10people. i hate when people de gumbody me, i hate people visiting me especially without letting me know. yea my life sucks but i fvcking love it. and lastly i broke up with my ex cus i don't post her nor allow her to post me and i don't relate with her friends much like she would like me to. well like i said my life is a bitsh and you know nothing about it. goodnight y'all

they blame all their Excesses on introversion. What does introversion have to do with ignoring calls , so if it’s an important person or an urgent situation, I would ignore call because I’m an introvert? That’s just a silly excuse to hide a bad character.

Actually, I can sincerely relate with how you may have felt with the quiet guy. I know a woman who is married to someone like the guy you described and sometimes when she talks to me about her husband's "kind of quiet", I can almost feel the pain in her voice.

See, while I can't deny that the quietness and reclusiveness can be a problem for those in the lives of introverts, I think it is important that the introvert learns to find comfortable ways to engage their extroverted friends, lovers and family. It is also equally important that the extroverts in our lives also learn to understand our nature and help find common grounds to make things work - achieving a win-win situation of sorts.

I totally agree with you , many introverts feel it’s a competition and try to express how they are better than them , instead of trying to mix up as much as they can , just because they find it difficult and they ain’t willing to learn they say nasty things about extrovert. I’m like extroverts are here to stay , we need to learn how to cohabit better, instead of evaluating their lives and ours
