This are indeed not the best times for koko master, and has a matter of fact this is the first time I am hearing D’banj being in a mess over money. Now a Technology company, MindHub Technologies is claiming D’banj is owing them the sum of $240,000,000 and another N15,000,000, which the artiste has not denied but issued them post-dated cheques which were bounced back. MindHub Technologies who now speaks with D’banj through their lawyers after all efforts made by them for him to pay proved abortive said D’banj has only deemed it fit since last year to pay only N8,600,000 out of the N15,000,000 and has not paid a single penny form the $240,000,000. “We act as Solicitors to MINDHUB TECHNOLOGIES LTD (hereinafter called “OUR CLIENT”), and on whose instruction we write you this letter in the manner stated hereunder. It is our brief that sometime in January 2013 in Lagos, you signed a Personal Guarantee/ Memorandum of Undertaking with our client wherein you agreed/undertook to pay our client the investment fund of N100,000,000.00k (One Hundred Million Naira Only) given to D KINGS MEDIA LIMITED by our client, should the latter default in payment of the debt. The said debt is made up of Nigerian and United States of America’s currencies,” the letter addressed to him stated. The case is already in a Lagos high court and due for hearing, why it has been almost impossible for months now to serve D’banj, because he has been outside the country, while some however claim the major reason D’banj has been in the US is because he does not want to be served. Whatever that means we hope they settle this fast.

Boko Haram militants have shot and injured the acting Brigade commander of 23rd Brigade in Yola. Colonel Popoola was shot in the shoulder three days ago in the thick of a battle to regain control of Hong and Gombi in Adamawa state from the Islamist militant sect. An army source in Abuja told SaharaReporters that the senior army officer has been evacuated to UCH Ibadan where he is expected to receive better and further treatment in the coming days. Several soldiers were reported to have died in the battle. The military source also told SaharaReporters that at least 300 Boko Haram militants have died in the battle. Colonel Popoola reportedly led a new crop of soldiers drafted from Jos into battle against the insurgents in a renewed battle to retake several towns from Boko Haram. The troop was able to recover two armored tanks from the militants after the battle was over. The military claimed to have regained control of towns today in a short tweet. Meanwhile, four commanders have been arrested for deserting their troops during the Monday fight that earned Colonel Popoola a bullet to his shoulder. The arrested soldiers include one Lieutenant Mohammed, the QRG commander of 234 battalion; 2nd Lieutenant UC Uche, Platoon commander of Bravo Company of the 234 battalion; Captain Lawal; and Lieutenant Buraji who is Mararaba platoon commander. The four and one other Captain Lawan were led away in handcuffs yesterday and locked up inside the military police guardroom at the 23rd Brigade in Yola Adamawa state.

Nigerian Beauty Queen, Ex-Miss UNILAG Winner Kessiana Salubi Killed By Ghost Lover, She Died In Sleep After He Proposed To Her Last week the shocking death story of ex-beauty queen Kessiana Salubi went viral on the net. Her immediate family members said she passed away in her sleep on Friday the 4th of November after returning from an outing. Investigation have now revealed that hours before her death, she went on a date with a suspected ghost (Akudaya), a resurrected dead person living in a place far from his/her people. They said months before her death, she reportedly met the man at one of the new generation banks in Lagos and one thing led to the other, they started seeing each other. The guy was suppose to come and meet her family one week before her death but sadly she passed on. They found the guy’s contact number and address from her notebook but on getting there, the family of the guy she went on a date with told them he had passed on. The unidentified guy reportedly died in a car accident in Ilorin back in 2005 and shockingly, he resurfaced in Lagos again. All the calls put to his cellular number were never picked. He recently proposed to her. Very sad! May her soul rest in peace (amen).

The Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, on Thursday arrested 27 women and a 15-year-old boy in the Lagos Mainland area of the state. The suspects were nationals of Benin Republic, Togo and Ghana. They were said to be without a valid entry passport or visa, and would be repatriated as soon as the agency concluded all necessary investigation. A few of the women were nursing mothers who had their babies strapped to their backs. While the elderly ones showed remorse, the young ladies in the group chatted away as they avoided press interview and snapshots. A woman in her 50s, who identified herself as Mrs Oluwaseun Joseph, from Cotonou, Benin Republic, was in tears as she pleaded for time to get her documents. Joseph, who spoke in Yoruba with PUNCH Metro, said although she had stayed long in Nigeria, she did not know the importance of a valid passport until she was arrested on Thursday. She said, “I have been in this country for a long time. I gave birth to my three children here. My husband who is also from Benin Republic, died some years ago. “The work I do is to carry people’s load at Ebute Meta. I started the work when I was sick and needed money. “That was what I was doing when they came to arrest me. If I had known about the document, I would have got it long ago. What will I do now? My kids are still in school.” Fifteen-year-old Ishay Befaye said he had been in Lagos for only one month. He said, “I am 15 years old. I came to Lagos on my own. My father is dead while my mother is in Benin Republic. I finished learning bricklaying in Benin and I came to Nigeria to find work. I planned to raise enough money and then regularise my papers. I make a lot of money from the work. “I have a bank account in Lagos where I keep the money. I am just begging them to give me some time to get home and tell my friends that I want to go to the village to get my papers.” But the state’s Comptroller, Justina Ahamdu, told our correspondent the command would not give the illegal immigrants a second chance. Ahmadu said the agency had had a meeting with heads of ECOWAS members in the state, to warn against the danger of living in the country without valid documents. She said, “I had a meeting with the heads of ECOWAS in the state in August when I resumed office, and I told them to warn their people staying in the country illegally, that if we picked them, we would not listen to them. And it was during the meeting I learnt that they also usually had periodic meetings with their fellow countrymen. “Normally, when we go for raids like this, we profile and screen them before repatriating them. While repatriating them, we tell them that to be legal residents, they need to get valid documents and pass through authorised routes, before they can be allowed to stay. This is a continuous process.” She warned that Nigerians, who keep illegal immigrants for cheap labour or obstruct officials of the agency from making arrests, may also be made to face the wrath of the law.

Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has accused the President Goodluck Jonathan-led federal government of massive corruption. Amaechi spoke yesterday ahead of Saturday’s mega rally at the new Adokiye Amaesiamaka Stadium at Igwurutali. According to him, no line of difference exists between funds meant for the public and those for private pockets. Amaechi said Minister of Finance and Coordinator of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, recently claimed that the country is not broke while state governments are being owed their allocations. He said: “How else can you know if you are broke when you cannot meet your financial obligations? The governors are saying if you are not broke as you claim, why not pay us our money. “They have not been able to separate between money for private pocket and the Nigerian pocket. “Perhaps because Okonjo-Iweala is an economist, she knows the best term to use to describe the terrible situation the country has found itself to the extent it cannot fund its projects.” The rally is expected to attract over 60,000 people to mark the seven-year anniversary of the Supreme Court judgment that installed him as governor in 2007. Amaechi will at the event give a report of his stewardship for the past seven years in office. Dignitaries expected include General Muhammdu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Governor Rochas Okorocha, Sam Nda-Isaiah, prominent APC chieftains among many others. |

Her Majesty is definitely a trend setter as she becomes the first ever reigning monarch of England to send a tweet. She made twitter history at the opening of an information technology gallery at the London Science Museum and this was witness by about 600 guests celebrating the history of communications technology. The account which was activated in 2009 and is run by her Majesty’s royal aides before today that is. The tweet which was sent by 10:35 GMT has over 15,000 retweets so far. It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R. — BritishMonarchy (@BritishMonarchy) October 24, 2014

Mr Segun Adepegba who abandoned his three kids in a boarding school in Ogun State has come out to state the reasons he took the action. The father who abandoned his three kids in a boarding school, Solid Rock Model College in Abule-Iroko, Ogun State, for eight years, Mr Segun Adepegba, has finally come out to state his reasons for taking the action her took and why he had to leave his children in the hands of strangers for so long. The distraught Adepegba who responded to the story carried by Punch Newspaper, said hardship and his inability to take care of the kids after their mother left him, led to his abandoning the three children and promised to visit the school and pick up his responsibilities. In a telephone interview with the paper, Adepegba recounted his ordeal, stating that life has been tough for him and he had no job or house for him to give the children the parental love they needed at the time. In 2007, my wife and I had a misunderstanding and she told me she was leaving me. I was frustrated and the children were little. Seyi, the youngest, was just two years while Titilola was just five. There was no way I could give them motherly care. I had no job. As a man, I needed someone to help me take care of them and that was why my sister suggested that we enroll them in a boarding school. I feared that if I suddenly appeared at the school, the proprietor would get the police to arrest me since the bills were accumulating and I could not offset them. I really appreciate the proprietor of Solid Rock Model College, for coming to my rescue and accepting the responsibility to help me take care of my children. The truth is this: I was pushed to the wall. I didn’t want my children to be beggars on the street. All these years, I have been jobless. I had no house to live in. I was putting up with someone. I just rented a one-room apartment and just got a job. I am not a wicked father. I really miss them but I am gradually overcoming the challenges I have been facing. I did not abandon them in that sense. I can assure you that before the week runs out, I will visit them. The last time I saw my wife was probably in 2007 when she left me. I have been trying to reach her but my search has not been fruitful. I heard that she is somewhere in the northern part of the country.
