Try emailing the medical center (IOM I'm sure of) for an appointment for a specific date even if it's not yet available on their website.

leanonme82:
no. I’m trying to book it in for the last week of October but the dates have not come up yet on their website. They are greyed out and u can’t select.
They only have slots available till the 14th of October on qlife. And till 10th of October on iom.
Interview is mid november
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 12:32am On Aug 28, 2025
It shouldn't be a big deal. I know someone who was also in F11 category and was single with 2 kids. In her case, they went to her neighborhood all the way in Ijebu-Ode to ask questions of her neighbors. This was around 2010. She wasn't informed that they would do this. They only told her after her first interview that they would get back to her.
I guess they suspected that she was married either nikkah or customary. Fortunately, she wasn't and the neighbors testified to it.
One of the neighbors informed her that some people came asking for info about her and she didn't even know it was the embassy people. They phoned her to come for a second interview and the consular officer told her that yeah your neighbors testified that you're not married. That's when it clicked.
So, if you haven't lied about your marital status, you have nothing to fear. Remember that for F11, you must not have done any type of marriage at all even if it's nikkah or traditional. Because sometimes, people think it's only court wedding that counts.

Lee1356:
Please help me. I am in F11 Category (unmarried adult son/daughter of a US citizen). I am not supposed to marry but can have children in this visa category. I am not married but have kids. My interview went well. I just had a call from the embassy that they need my GPS address to my house for which I have sent them. Please if they come and know I'm single and live alone. how long will they take to approve my visa or how is the whole process going to be.

Your PD is ready for a visa according to the visa bulletin. It's just that your DQ is quite recent.
You may be looking at a year plus before you interview in Nigeria.

Temseun:
Please when is it likely to be called for interview. its 15 years in waiting.
moved from F2 to F3 2017

DQ: Jan 2025

Try Qatar too. At the final stage, choose to hold the ticket instead of paying. Then print that out.
For hotel, I believe you should be able to use booking.com. Do a booking that does not require prepayment and cancel afterwards.

Vitra:
Please for the evisa application, flight booking is required. I haven't booked my flight yet. Is there a way to go about this?

Also they asked for accommodation booking. This has not been done yet. Please how do I go about this? The conference Organizers are doing the arrangements at a hotel but they haven't sent the booking details.

Thank you.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by lily156: 7:59pm On Jun 18, 2025
Thank you very much. Did you have to get an evisa prior in order to clear immigration and exit the airport to the hotel? Or do they do like Egypt air and retain your passport?

TadeDetule:
The 19hrs layover came with a hotel. tHIS WAS IN mARCH, 2025, but make sure there is no one with a shorter layover option when you are making you booking for the 19hr layover. Just an advice.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by lily156: 6:50am On Jun 18, 2025
Hello @SpiceQueen01
Were you given a hotel for the layover in Luanda. If not, how did you endure the 19hrs?
I have a friend who is flying TAAG soon with a long layover in Luanda.

SpiceQueen01:
Yes, I did. The only bad review I’ll give is lack of entertainment on board but you can only worry about that if you’re traveling with kids. But it’s not that bad, because everyone will sleep off eventually .
The layover time is much better now, it’s just 6 hours. Last year when I flew with TAAG we had 19hrs layover at Luanda.
Apart from that, everything else is good.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by lily156: 10:25pm On Jun 17, 2025
Thanks to everyone for the information. I helped a friend apply for the DHA evisa on June 9. Visa approved 17th.
Tip: if you're unable to pay, change browsers. We tried paying on Chrome (with a foreign credit card) but the payment screen was blank. Switched to Firefox and all went well. Frequent traveler (including to SA) and uploaded a stamped Wise account. Also uploaded a flight booking but it was cancelled immediately after booking.

TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 9:24pm On Feb 21, 2025
It's fine. Just have a ready explanation for why you don't have certain things. Eg, we lost all our pictures when we moved in xxxx

internationalman:
That childhood pictures go hard oh. I don't have them at all. But I have a lot of recent ones with my mother. As for the money transfer receipt, my mom usually sends money through my elder brother to distribute to the rest of us. So his name is on the receipt. I just hope they interview us together.

Please could you help me post a link from FB specifically from Nigerian members?.

TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 5:11pm On Feb 20, 2025
Okay. Seems like you've tried your best with getting your documents reviewed. Still, check the FB group.

What I meant is that a marriage situation is different from a family relationship. Consular officers might ask a married person questions about their marital, even sexual life but that won't apply to you.
Since it's your parent that is filing for you, focus on family pictures starting from birth, evidence of money sent to you, evidence of phone conversations. Make sure some of the pictures include other family members as well.
If the parent that is filing for you is by any chance married to someone who is not your father/mother, it would be beneficial to at least have some information about that person too.
Know where your parent works, the address off the top of your head etc.
But relax, it is much much easier for parent/child petitions than it is for those that have to prove that their marriage is genuine.

internationalman:
Yes I went inside straight to where other were actually having their documents reviewed.

All my efforts to contact them to give me another date was futile. They even gave me an email address to write my complaint to. I have written them more than 4 times yet no response. Nigerian organizations are terrible with customer care services. I even called their help lines on two occasions, both persons that answered the phone were are as clueless as I was😔😔😔.

Please I'd like to know what you meant by how F2B proves a relationship with petition is different from how IR1 proves it.
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 4:34pm On Feb 20, 2025
Who actually attended to you when you went there? Are you sure it's not the guys lurking around outside? Many of them will confidently tell you what they know nothing about.
If I were you, I'll keep on trying to contact the consulate to get another document review date. Check the Facebook group, I think there have been similar cases - check how they resolved it.
Also, don't stress yourself too much, also remember that not everything is applicable to you. How a F2B proves relationship with the petitioner is different from how a IR1 proves it.
If your petitioner hasn't filed taxes for the 2024 tax year, they should provide their 2024 W2.

internationalman:
I went and explained everything to them, they understood and they said there was nothing they could do since my appointment date has passed. But they all assured me that it can be done on the day of my interview. They said probably they would give me another date for my interview if they don't finish reviewing my files on time on that day.

They all said that there have been cases of people missing their In-person document review and still went ahead to get interviewed. They assured me I have nothing to worry about as long as all my required documents are available on that day.
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 5:25pm On Dec 20, 2024
Sorry about your loss. This must be tough. You said your mom passed away in 2019 due to Covid complications. But Covid started late Dec 2019 into 2020 so when exactly did she pass?
I ask this because the time matters. Have you found out from USCIS when exactly your petition was approved? The exact date. If it was before her death, you have a chance. If it was after her death, then there's a problem and you may have to consider other options for immigrating.

annichere:
Hi guys
My story is sort of long but I really do need help, suggestions or assistance on what to do.

My petition is about to be revoked and I have been given 30 days to give good and sufficient cause to show why it shouldn't be revoked.

In 2016 my sister using my mum as the petitioner filed for myself and my brother. We didn't hear anything from nvc and we were hopeful. In 2019, my mum passed due to complications from covid in the US and I knew it would somehow affect our filing. In 2020, they said my petition was approved but I didn't get mail or letters from them until 2022 when they said Ishould submit my documents which I did. From nvc, my case was transferred to uscis and each time i checked for update, I was told to wait as they were gong through my documents and will get back to me. Now my sister just received a letter from uscis with the title NOTICE OF INTENT TO REVOKE. Just to add, my brother has been in the US since 2015 because he went through the study route while I'm the only one here in Nigeria but we are both still waiting for this filing to come through and we both received this letter of revocation.

They say humanitarian reinstatement is not available in instances where the petitioner has died prior to the approval of the petition and now they say we need to submit evidence in support of the petition and in opposition of the proposed revocation. I don't even know what other type of evidence to submit as I'm not there with them.

In this case where the petitioner is no longer alive and we only have our sister whos is the sponsor, what can we do and how do we go about it? Im so confused right now, imagine waiting alone for 8 years and not being able to see your family or even your only parent alive just to get this type of response.
Your suggestions will really be appreciated. Thank you
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 11:19pm On Oct 31, 2024
That a child is a citizen doesn't mean that the child's information should be omitted from forms. That's basic knowledge.
If you're asked to list all children, you list all including the US citizen one.

bonawaja:
If ur child is a citizen y do u want to add him his category is superior than your case
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 5:01pm On Oct 27, 2024
Do not omit any child in the forms that you fill. Your child is even a citizen so why would it affect the process?

covbrand:
Good day, house. My nvc just came out, I need to confirm something quickly in the f3 category when the application was done, I had 2 kids, but now I have 3 kids. Would adding my child affect the process. Though my child is a citizen, but I don't want to misrepresent. Has anyone had a similar situation

Yes, the school will file your student visa for you. Confirmed even for Nigerians.

Okay... But the scholarship I'm applying for is fully funded. All your needs are taken care of,and you're not allowed to work under it by the way.
The location in UAE is Abu dhabi to be precise.
I don't want to go through all that long and gruelling process just to see that they don't give out visas to Nigerians.
Please can you corroborate what he said, that such student visas can be granted?
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 10:07pm On Jun 09, 2024
Table 1 is when you're actually current, the date when by law you can be issued a visa.
Table 2 is when NVC can start your documentation process - after which you become DQ.

You can be DQ but until your priority date is on or before the date on Table 1, you cannot be issued a visa.

zed7:
It's still not clear. I was filed for and application has been accepted. All I need is to wait till my date becomes current.
Table A or B which applies to me, under F4.
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 9:59pm On Jun 09, 2024
1- Send them an email everyday using the appropriate email subject per the visa navigator
2- Have your petitioner contact their congressman's office and have them intervene
3- Writ of mandamus ......expensive with a lawyer but search YouTube for how to DIY

Cean:
Can anyone provide insight into how long it might take for the Lagos embassy to contact me after my immigrant visa refusal was reinstated by USCIS? It has been 4 months since the reinstatement, and I haven't heard anything. I've contacted the NVC, but they keep sending me generic emails stating that my application was sent to the embassy in 2022, which was the first scheduled interview that was refused. I also contacted the embassy, but they directed me to contact the NVC. I'm really confused. My priority date is February 2019.

Hello everyone. I'm trying to help out a relative and I don't know much about the IVF process.
Both husband and wife live abroad and want to do ivf in Nigeria. However, they cannot travel to Nigeria at the same time. Is it possible for the husband to travel first, deposit his sperm and then the wife comes later to continue the procedure. If it's possible, can anyone recommend a good IVF clinic in Lagos? Thanks

From your initial post, I thought your PD was already current and you were having problems paying since your case got to the NVC.
But it seems like your PD is not current so there's nothing you can do at the moment.
Check the visa bulletin regularly.

1 visa month is currently the equivalent of 7 calendar months.

TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 2:06pm On Jan 20, 2024
It seems like you're still at the USCIS stage. You can only move on to NVC after your USCIS petition is approved.
Even after NVC DQ, based on your priority date, you still have some years to go - going by the current visa bulletin.

Kolade88:
Hello and good morning to you all, I am new here and I have actually read a whole lot but still curious. I am in the F2A category and my PD is Jan 2023. It’s been one year of wait , please from

TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 6:29pm On Jan 13, 2024
Poke holes? Do you and I know each otherhuh??
You're right - it's F2A. I was part asleep when I read his post.
But work on the paranoia dude. You knew I would come to poke holes? That's the funniest thing I've read this century 😂. Are we being paid on this thread?

aestake:
F2B is not for minor. It is for children who are 21 yrs or older and unmarried. I knew you would come to poke holes. F2A is for minor and spouse of LPR.
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 10:50am On Jan 13, 2024
The question was about F2B though. Minor of green card holder.

aestake:
F2A is current for your PD and for February 2024 visa Bulletin it is 08FEB20. Apart from NVC and embassy claiming they are following the DQ, you should be getting your interview letter. Reach out to them and/or sue them.
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 12:30am On Jan 08, 2024
Is your interview location Nigeria? Well, Nigeria has put F category interviews on the back burner for years now. So NVC is right - Lagos embassy says send us 2 people in the F1 category and NVC schedules those 2 on a first in, first out basis - according to DQ date.

Your options are
1) wait - Lagos has been doing a good job recently in clearing the immediate relatives backlog so they should move to F categories soon.
2) transfer to another country
3) sue ie a writ of mandamus - to force action.

You're definitely current and if you resided in a different country, you would have gotten your green card in 2021/2022.

Raraim:
Hello everyone, I am on the Family-based list F1, priority date June 2013, and documentarily completed since August 2021. Who has an idea when the immigrant visa interview may be scheduled, this wait is something else?

I get messages every 60 days per usual, I have emailed NVC on numerous occasions, and they have always insisted that it's based on a first-in, first-out basis.
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156: 8:15am On Jan 03, 2024
No. You're mixing things up. First of all, there is no biometrics appointment for her green card. She's a permanent resident starting from the day she steps into the US. As long as you pay the GC fee, the plastic card will be mailed automatically to the address she fills in her DS-260.
However, the stamped immigrant visa in her passport serves as a GC for a year from the date of entry.
She can file for reentry with the visa on her passport - she doesn't need the GC if it hasn't arrived.
This doesn't apply if she won't be staying outside the US for more than 6 months.

Oflaylay:
that means she will have to stay till she receive her green card biometrics appointment before she can go back to Naija? Or can she file for reentry without the green card? Na wa o!
TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by lily156:
Don't let anyone confuse you. It's not as difficult a problem as you are seeing it. Take a deep breath and relax.
One thing you should keep in mind is that if you had remained as a green card holder, it would take a long time because of the retrogression with spouses of GC holders.
Despite what seems like a problem now, this will end up being faster.
The only hurdle you have to cross now is that everyone won't get their visas at the same time.
File for your daughter ASAP. Go on reddit and you'll see I-130 being approved in 4,5 months. You won't know how long it will take until you start the process.
You have the option to delay your wife's interview until your child's I130 and NVC processes are complete. That's option 1.
Option 2 is your wife gets her green card. She has to travel to the US before the expiry of her medical exam - usually about 6 months. So she can stay in NG about 5 months after getting her immigrant visa.
After arriving the US, she can leave the following day if she wants to. Her visa stamp (after the initial entry) serves as her GC for one year and allows her to go in and out just the same as if she has the physical green card. If she travels to NG, she has the option of returning to the US before 6 months. OR she can stay in NG longer than 6 months as long as she applies for a reentry permit before she leaves the US (she has to do biometrics for it and it can take 1-3 months) .
Many many people have gone through this same process and it's not the end of the world. Keep in mind that it's still going to be faster in the long run than remaining in the green card category.

Oflaylay:
I am seriously confused on what to do right now. Maybe I will have to email NVC to restore my case to the previous state it was. This doesn’t make sense at all.
