Hello @sprumbaba I would love to talk to you about this. Thank you. Sprumbaba: It is not everyone. Some are not doing stocks. People are making bags in the US if you have the right skills and you are in the midst of the right group. You do not know what you do not know. There is a job here that only Indians and Nigerians are doing it. The Indians cornered the job with H1B visas claiming no has the skills to do it before we Nigerians entered the scene (Thanks to Trump craziness). I will rest my case here. Have a blessed day. |

They are on March 2020 for F1. To give you an understanding of the situation, in Oct 22 they gave F1 DQ early March IL. Again in Feb 23, they gave F1 DQ late March IL. So you see how slow they've been. Yem2023: Hi everyone. Please my sister has been waiting on her interview notice and I’d appreciate any information I can get. PD: May 2013 VC: F1 DQ: July 7 2020 We’ve been getting the 60 days emails for a while. I bug the NVC every time but they push it on Lagos. Has anyone had an interview scheduled in this category? I would like to have an idea of what dates the embassy might be in the interview scheduling. Thank you. |

Yes, it means your visa was approved Aug 19th and you have till Oct to use it. Seems like your agent is trying to pull a fast one on you. Send the screenshot to your agent. MummyHalo: Hi, I checked visa application status using the link you posted and I got this. Please what does the active status mean? Does it mean the visa has been approved cos I can see visa validity date. My agent keeps telling me there is no update yet. |

Yup ..... from the UK. If you're British then of course you don't need a visa. But if you have a Nigerian passport, you need a visa through a travel agent. You can also have your hotel process your visa for you but things are different now for holders of a Nigerian passport. So in my opinion, go with a Nigerian travel agency that is familiar with the new rules. olenime: from the uk ohh |

Please i need your advise in regards my case, My mom filed for me since 2013 with priority date April 2013. I had to expedite it from NVC to Lagos Consulate which was approved recently.
So here is my question, I got the Packet 4 Guidance from Lagos consulate but i cant find any available dates for interview. How do I schedule for an interview since there are no available dates on the us travel docs portal? Will the embassy provide an interview date for me or I need to reach out to them for interview availability?
Any suggestion & guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks |

I haven't given any wrong information. And you're preaching to the choir - I know very well that DQ does not mean that one is current. Unless you work at the consulate, what you think is fact is not absolute. You don't have to agree with me and it's quite a stretch to label it as false information. But I do know for a fact that a DQ Dec 2019 + current got an IL on Jan 17. That's that. I hope everyone gets an IL letter soon.

Do you mean that those with a refusal who had follow-up interview ticked on their paper can just go to the consulate on a Thursday and they will be attended to? What time on Thursdays. mrsnoname: No, they don’t have to book. They can just go there any Thursday |

Lol it's not a competition but I belong to more than 3 groups. Fact is - On Jan 17, I know a F1 Dec 2019 DQ got an IL letter and I know a F1 Feb 2020 DQ got a letter. You should also know that not everyone gives an update on these groups. And no matter how many updates we read about, we're not privy to everything that goes on within the consulate. Kennytowel: That's not correct. Those that were DQ Feb 2020- to early March 2020 were the only ones who received IL for the F category. Jan 2020 and Dec 2019 DQ received theirs last year. I belong to about 3 immigration groups, and am saying this is a fact, and not as an assumption |

Is it possible to go to another state in the US that is different from the address and state I used in my application and during my visa interview without negative effect at the port of entry in the US? It was submitted on the 22nd Dampops: No he/she shouldn’t be worried. Although it’s been taking 2 days for the application to move to processing stage after submission…so it’s unusual…but no cause for concern. If you call them, they will remind you that they advised 2 months…
What specific date was it submitted? |

@Dampops should a friend be worried that the status has remained at "Application received" for 4 days since submission through IW. Dampops: Hope you’ve been able to get an appointment. It’s been difficult for those that submitted last week and were refused to get interview dates |

I hope you're keeping safe. If I were you, I would appeal to other countries before transferring to Nigeria as the backlog in Nigeria is too much. Eg, you can write to the consulate in Turkey to see if they will take your case. Explain that you're resident in Ukraine and the consulates there are closed due to the war. At worst, they'll say no. At best, they'll say yes. I suggested Turkey because apparently their backlog is not that long and some sharp Nigerians have moved there just so that they can get there interview letters faster. And apparently, it's not that difficult to become a resident there. If Turkey doesn't work, write to other consulates in Europe. All it takes is for someone to say hell yeah we'll take him. Sammiebabatunde: Hello there. I need your candid opinion on this please.
I got married to a US citizen but I'm currently in Ukraine and due to the unrest and uncertainty of war with Russia, all US consular services in Ukraine have been shot down. I have until August as a legal resident in Ukraine and our Cr1 (Marriage visa) is at the NVC level, meaning that, getting an interview date is the next thing. My questions are:
1. Do you think transferring my case to the US Embassy in Nigeria is a great option considering how overwhelming the backlog is over there?
2. Do you think remaining in Ukraine makes any sense as to not knowing when consular services would resume?
3. Do you think transferring my case to an African country where US consular services are faster is a great deal? If yes, please advise on which African country.
I really hope I get a helpful response and please I'll highly appreciate your suggestions. Thanks! |

Since your wife's case is already at the Lagos consulate and no longer at NVC, you *might* be able to schedule an appointment by yourself. Log in here and see if it allows you to schedule an appt https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?country=NigeriaAkanoGlory: Good Day All, I have been follow this wonderful and useful trend for sometime, and I always found it helpful. This is my first time of asking question, because I usually get my answers from other people's questions. Pls I really need a solution on this Myself, my wife and child got an invitation letter last year August 2021, the interview went well with me and my child, however, my wife was not allowed to attend the interview because she has to go for a further screening. Thankfully, the test results came fine after ten weeks. And since October last year 2021 we have been looking for interview date for her till now, even the Medical is expired. How possible can we get an interview date for her. We understand we have to go thru another medicals. Pls kindly assist. |

An international passport should only travel across borders in the possession of its bearer. Unless it was mailed directly from an embassy or a home office like the UK does with overseas passport applications. I know someone who was denied a visa (not US) because her NG passport didn't have an entry stamp into the country that she was applying from. It was extremely risky to have remained in Qatar and send your passport to Nigeria. Mamajt: no I didn’t , my husband took it to Lagos and submitted for both Of us |

I got a visa through a hotel last month (even before the ban was lifted) and it took them about two days. And I have done this before several times. Most hotels require a deposit and they refund it to you as soon as you send them your UAE exit stamp. SoloD94: When last have you seen it work for someone? |

You guys should have just booked at a hotel that processes visas for guests. Emirates also does this. Why did you use an agent at all otomori: My brother I feel your pain, mine is even worst. My wife is a USA citizen, apparently she doesn't need a visa to enter Dubai, painful thing is, she already booked her flight ticket. She thought it wasn't a big deal for me to get my visa here. We are actually supposed to go spend our honeymoon there, now if I don't get the visa we will have to forfeit her flight payment cos it' isn't refundable. Mind you, the agent told us processing mine will cost 300$ while here 150$. Dude didn't know we made our findings well, she can get visa on arrival. Don't mind my typos, driving. |

It got unfrozen today, next thing I tried booking and the response I got was "no appointments available". Tried again and boom, I exceeded the no of times I can view the page. This thing is tiring. |
