Politics / Nans Speaks Out On The Alleged Electronic Learning For Tertiary Institution by LilychiLily001: 6:28am On May 21, 2020
The Leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, the highest Students' body in the Country through her facet in Ebonyi State led by the Director of Special Duties NANS Zone B, Comrade Olisa Alfred Nwuruku, in a joint voice with the Council of Presidents, Students' Union Government in Ebonyi State applauds the Federal Government and the Government of Ebonyi State for their restlessness in resuming Educational operations in Ebonyi and in the Country at large, through the initiation of E-learning schemes and Radio/Television learning media for tertiary institutions. This was the unanimous voice of the teleconference between the NANS Representative and the Council of SUG Presidents in Ebonyi State, today the 20th day of May, 2020.

We do not deny the inevitability and usefulness of this scheme to the Educational sector, especially at this trying time when the walls of classrooms are compulsorily shut down and Students locked at their respective homes by orders necessitated by the fight against the global scourge, such that since it is obvious that the pandemic forbids body contacts and which is unavoidable in our respective classrooms, virtual learning becomes a highly esteemed option.

We are not also oblivious of the unending nature of this disease, so that the hope of resuming classrooms dims, safe to say, and cannot consequently relax our heads and hands, hence the need for any right-thinking country and State to consider virtual learning as an option, but we strongly refuse this scheme on grounds of its impracticability, summarized in these paragraphs below:—

1• We feel the Federal Government through the Ministry of Education and the Government of Ebonyi State through the Ministry of Education/the management of the tertiary institutions in the State have not really planned well for the Students, to have inconsiderately ousted the Students' Union Leaders from the desk and seat where this option was contemplated, not really holding ourselves highly, but we feel it is our concern and interest at stake, a decision that is chiefly taken for us should not inversely be against us!

2• As a body of Nigerian Students, and the target people in view, we have had enough time to painstakingly reconsider the pros and cons of the initiative in question, that is, the practicability of electronic learning in a clime as deficient as Nigeria, deficient of Stable Power Supply and deficient of sophisticated Technology, and have arrived at a conclusion that the plan would fail for want of enabling facilities, and personnel who would adequately man the facilities in view of the standard of our information technology.

3• Researches have revealed that E-learning best thrives in a space where there is an adequate power supply, by this, we do not mean to undermine the efforts of both the Federal and State Governments in improving this shortcoming, but for the time being, Nigeria as a country and Ebonyi as a State still have multifarious hinterlands that are yet to connect to the power supply, and unfortunately, the population of Nigerian Students is not limited to the numerical figure settling in the urban areas, so that it suffices to say that the population of students residing at the rural areas who are not also captured by electricity and most other population suffering power fluctuation would be cut off from this scheme, leaving the whole dream unattained. We cannot also alternatively resort to our generating plants, people that cannot afford the cost of their feeding cannot comfortably fend for the price of daily fuel utility, most others do not have stand by power generators at all.

4• We have also considered the modalities of this initiative technologically, and we are still dissuaded. Electronic learning as an advanced learning sail through where there are sophisticated technological facilities in place, and unfortunately, Nigeria and Ebonyi State are yet to ascend this height. However, our position would have been different if the population of the target Students is majorly based in the Urban areas where the network concentration is higher compared to what is obtainable at the rural areas where our students also reside in great counts, but what success could be achieved where network connections that fluctuate badly for calls are used for lectures?. If we must succeed, then arrangements for enabling facilities must be put in place.

5• To further this, we speak convincingly of the adverse effects of the poverty level of the country on this initiative, we will not be sounding strange to say that the educational sector is not devoid of the poor class of Nigerian citizenry, it is also factual to assert that virtual classes unlike the physical classrooms that make use of paper and pen is facilitated by technological devices like cell phones, personal computers, and television sets, and unfortunately the nature of the Nigerian Economy is such that robs the Poor of the proprietary claim of these facilities not precluding the cost of subscription which is a criterion for any online engagement if this initiative gains National interest and approval, what then is the possibility of reaching the incapacitated set of Students who can afford neither cell phones nor laptops for this proposed lectures?

6• Again, our ground of rejection is also fastened on the understanding had on the nature of the courses we offer in our respective tertiary institutions so that while some courses could be taught online, others cannot. For specificity, we will not be wrong to infer the impossibility of teaching practical courses that are mathematically based online. The virtual learning is somewhat non-participatory and so cannot provide a good medium for the teaching and learning of such courses.

7• We want to also emphasize the impact of physical facial contact on learning, discoveries have revealed that Students understand more when they feel the eyes contact of their lecturers, not Precluding their gestures, and these are things that the scheme of Virtual learning will not guarantee.

8• Conclusively, while we applaud the Federal and State Governments for putting our fates into consideration at this helpless and critical time, we want to convincingly say that the planned initiative is a good plan that is birthed on infertile grounds!

Alternatively, we request that the planned cost of this initiative be diverted to the development of our deteriorated learning environments, some schools have been crippled by poor management, some others by time. Plans should also be put in place to return us to more conducive classrooms where we are conversant with, which would be useful for this initiative, or better still the way we left them, while the Nation adopts good strategies to actualize these dreams like the western world which will be useful in subsequent times, but till we have attained this height of technological advancement, all attention should be lent to the development and rehabilitation of our schools.

While we are not yet assured of the supply of these expensive demands needed for this noble initiative, we wholeheartedly confess our discomfort with its initiation and therefore urge both the State and Federal Governments to please lead us through paths that we can practicably ply.

We reaffirm that education is a right, not a privilege!

Crime / 4 Judges Killed In Vehicle Attack by LilychiLily001: 2:36pm On Nov 07, 2019
Four judges were killed in an alleged Taliban attack in Afghanistan’s central province of Logar, officials said on Thursday.

Provincial Council Members, Hasibullah Stanekzai and Mohammad Qasim Sediqi, announced this in Kabul.

The judges were on their way to Kabul, from the southern province of Paktiya, when their car was targeted by gunmen in the Mohammad Agha district of Logar province, provincial council members said.

It was unclear if the judges were the primary target of the attack.

According to Stanekzai, gunmen opened fire on a national army vehicle ahead of the judges’ vehicle.

A Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said he was trying to gather information about the incident.

Mujahid said the insurgents’ target judges if there was proof that they have ruled against Taliban fighters or committed some other kind of oppression against the militants.

At least 66 judges were killed throughout Afghanistan in the past five years, according to the Afghan Supreme Court.

Politics / Nigeria Lost Oil Worth $42bn To Theft Between 2009 And 2018 – NEITI by LilychiLily001: 1:53pm On Nov 07, 2019
The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) has said that Nigeria lost about $42 billion to crude theft as well as domestic and refined petroleum products losses between 2009 and 2018.

This is according to the latest edition NEITI’s Policy Brief titled “Stemming the Increasing Cost of Oil Theft to Nigeria” published Wednesday in Abuja.

In its brief, the NEITI gave a detailed breakdown of what the nation had lost including $38.5 billion on crude theft alone and $1.6 billion on domestic crude and another $1.8 billion on refined petroleum products.

NEITI also stated that Nigeria loses an average of $11 million daily, $349 million in a month and about $4.2 billion annually to crude and product losses arising from stealing, process lapses and pipeline vandalism.

These loses were blamed on the failure of the Nigerian government to adopt the oil fingerprinting technology as well as the lack of qualitative metering instruments at the various facilities across the country.

The report states that oil theft, pipeline vandalism and other criminal activities have deeply affected the lives of people living within the environments where oil facilities are mounted.

In recommending solutions to oil theft across Nigeria, NEITI said adequate legal sanctions should be handed anyone found wanting or involved in oil theft and other oil related crimes.

Deployment of modern technology to tackle oil leakages was also proffered.

Sports / Champions League: Jorginho Blasts Chelsea Players After 4-4 Draw With Ajax by LilychiLily001: 4:02pm On Nov 06, 2019
Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho has criticised Frank Lampard's men for not being able to defeat Ajax at Stamford Bridge in the UEFA Champions League encounter on Tuesday night.

According to Jorginho, the Blues should have played with more calm when they had two more players against Erik ten Hag's side and not go for goals straight away, adding that they could have passed a little bit more to find space against the visitors.

The Italy international, however, warned his team-mates that they must learn from their mistakes against the Dutch side or risk qualifying into the competition knockout stages.

Chelsea were three goals down in the Champions League tie, before Ajax saw two of their central defenders Daley Blind and Joel Veltman sent off.

It swung the match in Chelsea's favour, with a second penalty of the match from Jorginho and goals from Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James bringing the hosts level at 4-4.

"We didn't win and we should have done," said Jorginho after the match as quoted by Evening Standard.

"In this situation when you are with two more players, I think we could win and we should.

"We have learnt that we cannot make mistakes, at this level of football you can't. Every single mistake we can lose the game.

"We could play with more calm when we had two more players, not go for goals straight away, pass a little bit more to find space. I think we learnt that we can improve from this game.

"I think the most important thing is we didn't give up. When it was 4-1, it is hard to believe and we did. It is so important for us."

Crime / Lady Nneka Omenka, Beats Half-sister To Death For Bed-wetting In Lagos by LilychiLily001: 12:10pm On Nov 06, 2019
A lady, Nneka Omenka with the help of her mother, Sesi Eko have killed her 13-year-old half-sister, Precious Omenka after brutally beating her for bed-wetting.

Late Precious, according to their father was staying with her older half-sister Nneka and Nneka’s mother Seki Eko in Lekki, Lagos when she was brutally beaten, eventually leading to her death.

Mr. Emeka Omenka, the father of the deceased, said he had Nneka out of wedlock with Seki Eko. He later got married and his wife Ifeoma raised Nneka as her own as she found it hard conceiving her first child.

Mr Emeka Omenka said his older daughter Nneka asked that her younger sister Precious pays her a visit. Precious went to Nneka’s house in Ikota, Lekki on October 12, but was returned on October 16 looking weak with complaints of body pains. She informed her parents that she had been beaten by Nneka and her mother Seki Eko for wetting the bed.

Mr Omenka said Precious gave details of how she was kicked in the stomach, chest, and sides several times. She added that she was beaten with a mop stick and a cable as well.

Precious, a JSS 3 student, was taken to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Ebute Metta where she died on October 25 from complications resulting from the beating she allegedly received from her half-sister Nneka and Nneka’s mother.

Precious’ death certificate revealed that the primary and secondary causes of death were Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Cardiopulmonary Collapse.

Reacting to his daughter’s death, Mr Omenka who spoke to The Nation said: “I am in pain. My heart is broken. Nneka is my first daughter. I had her out of wedlock with one Seki Eko I was in a relationship with. Nneka was trained by my wife Ifeoma who loved her like her own child.

“When I got married to my wife, it was difficult for her to conceive and so she brought up Nneka like her own child. So, when she came and said Precious should come to her place, we did not have any reason to deny her request.

“Her husband lives in Dubai. She promised to send her to a private school to appreciate my wife for taking care of her.

“Precious went to her place on October 12. It was that weekend that it rained all through. Then, on October 14, which was a Monday, it also rained and Precious said she peed on the bed. That was her offence that made my daughter and her mother to descend on her like that.

“When they finished, they brought her back and dumped her at my place in Apapa Road, Ebute Metta. She was complaining of body pains and narrated what happened to her at her sister’s place in tears. I could not bear it and I wept as she was talking.

“My wife and I bought painkillers that we gave her. My wife was also using hot water and cloth to massage her body. We did not know that it was so bad. When we saw that she was not getting better despite the painkillers, we decided to take her to FMC because that’s where she was born.

“She was already stooling on her body and her mother was cleaning it. So, at the hospital, she was rushed to the emergency room after the doctors said she was short of blood. They did so many tests and scans and discovered that she was bleeding internally and that her bladder burst too.

“She was in the hospital some days and was booked for emergency surgery. I was busy running around to raise money to save my daughter’s life. I even borrowed from friends and family members so that she could be saved but at last we lost her.

“Nneka did not tell me what happened to my daughter and did not even come to the hospital until her relative from her mother’s side who works at the FMC called her to rebuke her. That was when she came and spent about N14,000 on my daughter’s drugs that day.

“I did not go to the police station then because I was busy running around for my daughter to be alright. But after she passed on…my kinsmen advised I report at the station. I went to Denton Police Station and Iponri but they told me it did not happen in their jurisdiction and that I should go to Lekki to report.

“I just sent a message to her husband and told him what she did. My wife has been inconsolable since then.

“I want justice for my daughter. I feel very disappointed that this happened to my family. I want human rights to come and government to investigate this case. Nneka is my daughter but Precious is also my daughter and she did not deserve to die like that,” he said.

The Nation reports that Nneka told those around her that her younger sister died as a result of ruptured appendicitis, adding that the girl was ill before she took her to her house.

But the mother of the deceased told the publication that she was still in shock over the incident and denied insinuations that Precious might have been ill.

She said: “My daughter was very healthy and even cooked for her younger ones that day before following Nneka. Nneka and her mother should explain what happened to my daughter. Nneka was brought to my house when she was 17 and we trained her in the university. I never did any wrong to her and then, she chose to pay me back this way?”

Meanwhile, a coalition of child advocates has volunteered to take over the case and ensure justice.

Sources at the police station said an order to exhume the teenager’s body would be sought so that autopsy could be conducted.

Police spokesman Bala Elkana confirmed the case was reported at Ajiwe Division in Ajah, adding that the suspects have been arrested.

Politics / President Mohammadu Buhari Charges NMA On Quality Healthcare Services by LilychiLily001: 11:22am On Nov 06, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has tasked Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) to seek better ways of improving healthcare service delivery to Nigerians.

He gave the task at the second National Health Summit (NHS) and the 25th Commonwealth Medical Association Triennial Conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

The theme of the conference is “Patient-Centered Care (PCC) “.

Represented by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Enahire, the President said “patients are at the centre of healthcare service delivery and must be accorded confidentiality and due respect.

“A patient should have information and be kept updated on possible complications regarding his or her sickness.

“A patient’s privacy and confidentiality must never be compromised; he or she deserves clean environment.”

He said that the lack of medical equipment, poor environment and the lack of confidentiality were capable of damaging the health system, noting that mindset could be used to fix the system, not necessarily money.

He added that “Federal Government would like to open conversation with nurses and doctors; we need to strengthen our human resources.

“Efforts are ongoing to restrict the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and work with state governments to enroll more people in rural areas.

“Also, the Federal Government would want to see an end to industrial disharmony in healthcare institutions, which usually affect patients.

“Nigerian health human resources is reducing as some trained personnel are lost by migration to already developed economies; we will welcome suggestions from this summit to checkmate this trend.

“We shall support all efforts on the health indices of the country. Medical personnel should also take care of their health because it is a healthy professional that can provide healthcare services to patients.”

Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), the Chairman of the occasion, said he was happy that NMA had taken upon itself the responsibility of mobilising human resources that would add to the policy thrust of government.

Gowon said that one of the areas of concern during the first edition of the NHS in Asaba in 2013 was the NHIS, noting that “it is my hope that this summit will come up with ideas that government will accept and implement to improve the quality of healthcare in the country.

“Nigeria is losing millions of naira to medical tourism. I hope this can be curbed.”

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, also the Chief co-host, said the summit was an opportunity to shape the healthcare section of the country.

According to him, the theme of the summit signifies that healthcare providers also recognise the patients in the process of providing healthcare services.

He said, “be rest assured that government would provide health and education to all; we would continue to support the efforts of NMA.”

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, said “Patient-Centered Care Model promotes flexibility and partnership in healthcare of families.

“PCC model is a voice to the patients, which must be guided by principle. It is to enhance treatment plans; a multi-dimensional approach in achieving quality healthcare service delivery.”

The NMA President, Dr Francis Faduyile, said “PCC is all about putting the individual patients first in all considerations regarding care.

“The time has come for us to jettison the traditional care pattern wherein most settings the patients contribute minimally to decisions about his or her care in its entirety.

“It is important to open communication channels to both the patients and their relations. We must strengthen physician-patient communication.

“Governments at all levels should partner with NMA and other stakeholders to ensure that key recommendations from this gathering form significant part of Nigerian Health Policy.”

Politics / Kogi 2019: Yahaya Bello Says He Will Rather Lose Than Allow Dino Melaye Win by LilychiLily001: 1:20pm On Nov 03, 2019
Less than two weeks to the governorship and senatorial elections in Kogi state, there is an uneasy calm and palpable tension in the camp of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Yahaya Bello.

Bello had angrily told appointees from Okun land of Kogi West senatorial district that he will rather lose his own election than see Sen. Dino return back to Senate.

The governor stated this Thursday night in Lokoja during a meeting he held with the officials and appointees from Okun land in respect of the incoming governorship and Kogi West senatorial rerun election in the state.

Bello who expressed his disappointment over the low turnout that greeted the Kogi West rally held in Kabba during the week.

He lamented that the outcome of the rally shows that the appointees from the area will not deliver for the APC in both elections.

He threatened the appointees that if they failed to deliver for APC he will sack them from their positions adding that they will not be reappointed in his second term.

However, a caretaker Administrator from one of the local governments, who spoke at the meeting, assured the governor that they will not disappoint him during the election. He promised the governor that he will personally employ every means to deliver Kogi West to him and Senator Smart Adeyemi using every means necessary.

He added "I will use any means to deliver West to you and Senator Smart.

"We are equal to the task, I am ready to use any foul means and after that I will sponsor Muslims and Christians to Mecca and Jerusalem to seek for forgiveness on our behalf", the Administrator said.

The Speaker of Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Matthew Kolawole who was denigrated and booed at the meeting said that the people of Kogi west senatorial district has never been fair to the governor in terms of loyalty. He said, during the general election the governor gave him an assistance of hundred million naira to campaign.

This statement generated a lot of anger and negative reactions from the officials within the Hall. The appointees accused the speaker of diverting the said money to his personal use and spent far less than a million in each of the wards in his LG.

One official who also spoke at the meeting advised the governor to concentrate on his own election and leave that of Sen. Smart Adeyemi to himself. But the governor angrily responded saying "you're a small boy and doesn't know what is at stake". He commanded the appointee to take his seat.

Furthermore, the governor enquire to know the real problem affecting the chances of the party in Kogi West especially the outcome of Kabba rally and previous elections.

In responding, some officials admitted before the governor that Kogi West is predominantly PDP since the inception of this republic.

The meeting had in attendance secretary to the state government, members of the state assembly, commissioners, caretaker chairmen and special advisers and other appointees.

After the meeting, many appointees expressed reservations about the chances of APC in Kogi West Senatorial District wondering how Bello and Sen. Smart Adeyemi can win elections in Senatorial District.

Politics / Don’t Ever Tamper With The Report Of Our Governorship Primary - PDP Caution by LilychiLily001: 4:30pm On Oct 31, 2019
The Position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the Reported Plot By the APC and INEC to Tamper With the Party’s Submission of Candidate And Arrest of Key Leaders In Kogi State

Gentlemen of the press, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the strongest terms, cautions the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to, in anyway, attempt to alter INEC’s Monitoring Report on our governorship primary in Kogi state or attempt to tamper with our record of submission of candidate for the November 16 governorship election.

The PDP’s warning is predicated on intelligence available to the National Secretariat of our great party of plots by known INEC officers and certain APC leaders to alter INEC’s Monitoring Report and delist our candidate, all in their desperate, but sure to fail, bid to make Governor Yahaya Bello a sole candidate and deny the people of Kogi state their desire to vote in Engr. Musa Wada as their next governor.

Of course, this plot is dead on arrival, as our candidate, Engr. Musa Wada, remains duly nominated through the statutory processes of our primary, which was well covered in the Monitoring Report released by INEC. The PDP cautions that any attempt to tamper with his candidature will trigger the wrath of the people.

The PDP is however aware of every stage in this conspiracy against the Kogi state as well as the actors involved. Already, our party is working with the people of Kogi state to stop them on their trail.

The PDP is fully aware of the details of the meeting between the INEC officials and the APC stalwarts on Sunday, October 20 and Monday, October 21, 2019 at the INEC office in Lokoja, on how to alter INEC’s position in its earlier released Monitoring Report, which confirmed the validity and transparency of our governorship election primary.

Our party has full details of how the APC leaders came to the meeting, which held at about 2pm, in a black Toyota Prado SUV with covered plate number; how the INEC officials arrived 10 minutes later in a Kia SUV as well as the pecuniary transactions that followed.

Information available to our party shows that an INEC P.R.O and a Legal official of the commission were also in the meeting where they plotted how to ensure the alteration of the INEC’s Monitoring Report on our Kogi primary before 1st November 2019.

The PDP has been further made aware of how the conspirators have recruited 205 APC loyalists, who are being trained at Muslim Community School, Lokoja to impersonate NYSC members as Polling and Electoral Officers in designated areas to enable the APC and INEC manipulate the process in such areas.

Now that these plots have been exposed and the conspirators already known by the people of Kogi state, the PDP cautions INEC to desist from any attempt to carry out APC’s nefarious bid.

The people of Kogi are ready and fully rallied to monitor all electoral activities in all the polling units and all collation centers as well as to protect their votes up to the final declaration of results. Anybody that attempts to subvert their determination for a free, fair and credible process will only have himself to blame.

The inevitable trajectory of change in this election as desired by the people of Kogi state, in their yearnings to end the suppressive, corrupt and anti-people government of Governor Yahaya Bello is abundantly clear and there is no way the people can allow any body to undermine their determination for a new order.

Also, intelligence available to the PDP indicates that over 30 Kogi leaders have been listed for arrest by the APC so as to put them out of circulation and pave way for manipulations against the people.

Our party cautions the APC and their compromised security agents to steer clear of our leaders and members during this election. This is because any unwarranted attempt on their freedom and safety will be firmly resisted.

Let it be known to the APC and security agencies that the people of Kogi, standing with the PDP are ready for this election and that harm to one is harm to all.

The PDP therefore calls on Nigerians to hold the APC and Governor Bello responsible should any harm befall any of our leaders or should any one of them suddenly become a victim of unexplained accident, accidental discharge or sudden disappearance.

The Kogi people are determined for a new leadership; their choice is already known and nothing can make them surrender their will to any body, no matter what.

He said that 527 crashes, involving 134 private cars, 93 private buses, 213 commercial cars, 32 motorcycles, five tricycles, 143 commercial buses, 113 medium trucks and 102 heavy trucks were recorded during the period.

Ajayi said that 3,702 persons were involved in the various crashes out of which 817 people (513 male, 304 female) sustained various degrees of injuries.

He said that 163 persons (123 male, 40 female) died while 2,722 people were rescued unhurt due to prompt response to the 416 emergency calls received by TRACE Corps.

“49.18 percent of the accidents were caused by excessive speeding, 21.09 percent by dangerous driving, 10.38 percent by bad tyres, 4.16 per cent by driving against traffic and 15.19 percent by other causes,” he said.

Ajayi said that 2,367 motor vehicles and 1,331 motorcycles were apprehended for 5,488 offenses.

“The above report was witnessed by TRACE Corps in areas covered only,” he said.

He, however, said that efforts to reduce deaths and injuries on all roads in Ogun were being vigorously and relentlessly pursued such that no traffic offender would go unpunished.

He added that TRACE Corps Commander/CEO, Seni Ogunyemi, appreciated the Traffic Whistle-Blowers throughout the state for their unflinching support and their prompt information whenever a crash occurred.

“TRACE Corps is, hereby, appealing to the motoring public to obey all traffic rules and remember that safety is the responsibility of all road users,” he said.

Politics / Kogi PDP Mega Rally, A Red Card For Yahaya Bello by LilychiLily001: 3:54pm On Oct 27, 2019
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the unprecedented crowd that surged at the official flag-off of its governorship campaign in Lokoja, Kogi state capital on Friday, despite threats of violence by the All Progressives Congress (APC), is a resounding declaration by the people that nothing will stop them from kicking Governor Yahaya Bello out of office on November 16.

The crowd is also an unmistaken demonstration of the fact that Kogi remains a home to the PDP, which will further manifest in PDP’s landslide victory at the November 16 election.

The party notes that the earthshaking jubilation and ovations that greeted the PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada and his running mate, Hon Sam Aro, established the people’s confidence and preference for the PDP and its candidate, over and above Yahaya Bello, who has failed them on all fronts.

The PDP has been made aware of the gloom, hopelessness and dejection in the Bello camp, which is depleting by the day, following Engr. Wada’s soaring popularity and acceptability across the voting demography across Kogi state.

Yahaya Bello is gradually coming to terms with the fact that he will soon found himself standing alone to face his inevitable prize for failure and disdain for the people of Kogi state.

Governor Bello now knows that the people of Kogi state cannot be intimidated by threats of violence neither can they be bought, enticed or beguiled with filthy offers. They have since made up their minds to repay Bello in his own coin for the pain and anguish he inflicted on them in the last four years and nothing can change this resolve.

The only thing that is collectively paramount to the people of Kogi state is that Yahaya Bello is voted out to make way for a purposeful, people-oriented and transparent administration under Engr. Wada.

The PDP commends the people of Kogi state for their unity, resilience and courage in the face of machinations, threats, assaults and manipulations by the sinking Yahaya Bello and the APC.

The party also commends the patriotism of members of the APC that have crossed over to the PDP in the last few weeks, to queue behind Engr. Wada, having realized that the liberation and repositioning of Kogi state in the interest of the people can only be attained through the PDP and Engr Wada.

The party therefore urges the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security forces to resist the shenanigans of the APC and remain on the side of truth and fairness as Kogites will never accept any process that does not reflect their will and aspiration in this election.

He promised that he would resolve development challenges facing the residents of Ogbia as well as other parts of the state.
