Dupeodus: Capital Gains Tax is in the Nigerian Tax Laws. Every nation in the world taxes capital gains. Nigeria has the lowest tax receipts as a percentage of gdp even among West African countries by a very wide margin. We want government services but do not want to pay taxes. Would the money come from the air? We cannot continue to use the excuse of corruption to resist taxes. The excuse of corruption to resist taxes is a VERY good excuse. Keep paying taxes so our sh*thead politicians can continue looting and buying mansions in Banana Island for their 22-year old girlfriends |

It's amusing. Banks in SA are trading at a PE of 30+. Kenyan banks are trading at an average PE of 12. My beautiful, sexy Zenith which has CONSISTENTLY made 9-figures in USD (net profit) in the last decade (even under Buhari's dark clouds), and has billions of dollars in reserves, is trading at a PE of 3. It's ridiculous. |

Seunn11: Fair value for fbn is now 19.05 This is not a recommendation. Fair value of most of the Nigerian banks is 2.5 times what they are currently trading at. Fair value of Zenith Bank is N50+. But NSE does not send fair value. |

BrokerHaruna: The bears will devour the market next week. The economy is in scary shape with pervasive insecurity and the near collapse of both the fiscal and monetary policies. Unarguably, the country appears to be leaderless and directionless! Nothing to cheer about. Lol. Bla bla bla. As if all these things were not already happening when the Bull came last month. Newbies, don't fret. Don't allow anyone make you panic to sell your shares. If you have fundamentally-sound stocks, hold on to them. I usually prefer good dividend stocks like GTBank, Zenith and Elumelu's companies (except Transcorp) because they usually give dividend-yield of 10% and above, steady. Again, don't allow the evil people here to make you panic. Me, I'm still heavy in Zenith because when that sweet N2.50+ dividend hits in March, it will be sweet |

Biafran4life: I said it some Moon ago that some of my investment decision is based on what I see on the street. When was the last time you went to any eti branch, you will vow not to deal with them again. In most states they have closed many branches. The customer service is wacked, their IT innovation is zero compared to other Banks,no serious business man gives their account for business.Infact I went to a particular branch and they could not attend to me because of no phcn power.I stopped my boys somewhere in the north to stop using the business account as it was originally oceanic. It is so problematic to transfer from eti via mobile phone to other Banks..Once it steps to October of most yrs the network become a big problem to transact business. on. It is just like I just shake my head anytime some are promoting Guinness. When did you go to any seat out, club, joints, hotel and see Guinness products on the table (beer) even thr malt drink The worst off them all i are his insurance companies. When you go to some of thr office, you will be wondering why they are wasting money in renting some of the office space I dey drink Guinness steady sha. I'm even downing 3 bottles tonight after work. |
